Lightening- How wonderful your sister had twins!! Glad they are doing ok- VERY good weights they were too for 34 week old twins!! DD was born 2 weeks earlier and was only just 4lb, and she was a singleton!! Am very impressed!! It will be tough for her with them in SCBU- but as soon as they get home everything will be just as it should be!!

IDOB- wouldn't get worrying about using your wii-fit too much yet- i only started using it to begin with when DD2 was 8weeks old. Then i went on a couple of times, but i really bit the bullet from about the last week in oct.

Ses- sorry for poorly DS- hope he's on the mend soon enough.

Hello everyone else- i know i've missed at least one person but can't think who

Thanks IDOB re. name change - really sounds like your DD is doing fabulously.

I Lightning. What a pain with your table. Sounds like you have done really well with your unpacking though. Yay for your sister's twins - how gorgeous.

Ses - sorry for O's poorlies. DD was just like that last week - couldn't put her down had to resort to mostly feeding her to sleep and she was really off her food. Has taken a week, but she finally seems to be on the mend and today has gotten a bit back into routine.

Major breakthrough this afternoon - DD glugged 1 1/3 ozs from a bottle - Yay!!!! She is the steadfast bottle refuser. Last week at my Mum's, Mum tried for ages and she could get the teat in her mouth, but DD wouldn't take any. In the end, she took about 1/2 oz from me. So, anyway, on Sunday I bought a MAM bottle - highly recommended on MN for bf babies - think that and Nuk are the ones people seem to recommend for bottle refusers. Anyway, we shall see how she goes with bedtime milk from it tomorrow. She is also perverse in that she will take it from me, but wouldn't take it from Mum last week, so we are taking baby steps - first get her to take a bottle from me and then hopefully she will take one from DH/Mum/anyone else. Can't believe that after this afternoon's effort I suddenly thought - "Ooh, mustn't let her have bottle too often or she'll stop bfing because it's harder!" What a turn up! I'm sure she doesn't care that the bottle is pink and flowery, but it makes me feel good too Right, children hungry, must get tea organised.

Star- SNAP!!! we had the same breakthrough this afternoon!! DD2 finally took from a bottle- a mam bottle!! How very strange. I'm now trying to get her taking a bottle so i can get away amone for a few hours here and there without the worry that she'll be starving!! She hadn't taken fluids from anything/anyone (other than BF) since she was tiny and was given the formula. I stopped giving a bottle and decided i'd rather let her get her latch back on top form and she's been fussy on anything else since!! She took about the same amount too- just over 1oz!! are you expressing? my supply isn't up to much since she's on more solids and not having night feeds so have been giving formula. Would prefer not to but would need to express over a couple of days atm just to get enough for a full feed as i'm purely just making enough for her supply.

Tink what boots do you want? DH bought me these boots for xmas- only in black- they are so hot!! I just dont wanna wear them as i'm so scared to scuff them!

Ooh, like those boots Can't - I have boot envy!
We put our decs up yesterday Tink - 1st December, so I'm allowed to have Christmas music on and decorations up. Is 1st year that DS really gets Christmas and he is soooo excited. Think DH still has DD in his corner though (he's not such a big fan) - yesterday she put her hands over her ears when the Christmas music was on.

Giving ebm here Can't as still think DD is dairy intolerant (was going to try her on yoghurt last week but then she got ill, so waiting to the weekend now), so don't have a choice. I only get a couple of ounces out each expressing, so will need to store up for a few days to get 1 bottle.

Should not be on here - should be focussing on DC

Evening, DH taken the boy's for a sneaky Maccy D's, so DS3 and I are munching on cheerio's or maybe that should be a [biscuit?!]

Yes, the babies are good weights, 4lb 11 and 4lb 5, they'd been trying to get out for weeks and they managed to stop the labour twice, one lot of waters went on Friday, the other on Saturday, they were going to leave her till this Friday, which I thought was a bit I don't know all the details yet, but I think they induced her, she is in a lot of pain though, she dislocated her thingy, that I have just realised I have no idea how to spell, during the labour! Think it has an odd 'y' in it, cocysx, something like that?!! The thing at the bottom of your back, but higher than your bum! So has been doped up with morphine and from all accounts she can't really make head nor tail of what's going on!

Can't those boots are lovely! I have some kind of similar, less buckles, but same sort of thing!

Tink and Star, at you having your dec's up, we always used to do it the first weekend in December, but now with DS2's bday on the 7th, we wait till after so his bday isn't a mixture of bday and xmas, hate it though! Am thinking of doing the traditional 12 days before, 12 days after thing, might make the waiting to put them up less hurty if I'm thinking there is a good reason behind this!!

Tink, yes thank you am feeling loads better, have no idea what it was, DH did the symptom checker thing for swine flu and it gave him the code thing to go and get me tamiflu, so I started taking it, and I just got worse, so stopped taking it, and am just about feeling back to normal, though still feel completely wiped out if I do anything more energentic than sitting down hoovering or something!

Great isn't it? It's our wedding anniversary today, DH takes the kids for a special treat and I get left with the cheerio's! Humph!

Hello! I haven't read through at all but wanted to say hello. My first break all day - I'm at the stage when I feel it's never going to all get packed, as tomorrow the last clear day before FRiday. Eeek! I can attest to the fact that packing and sick children do not mix - just dd1 and J at home today, but J quite clingy so difficult to leave the room. Tomorrow have kitchen to start and our bedroom, and need to finish dds' room, oh and bathroom and cupboard under stairs...arghh!!!!
Right, have offloaded with a very 'me' post but will endeavour to catch up tomorrow xxx

Morning!

Gruff - sorry to hear GC has been ill. Hope he wakes up feeling better today and you can still join us today.

Diege - good luck with the packing. Can't be easy especially with poorly DC. I did think if you'd been a bit further south, we could have met up at yours today for a packing party. Having said that, could also have made things more chaotic for you with the babies!

O seems a bit better this morning, thank goodness!
Also DH told me last night that he's off work from 18th Dec to 4th Jan

Good morning

On new laptop, we were so lucky, we ordered DS1's at the same time, he had only just gone out to school when they were delivered, if they'd have come even 1 minute earlier he'd have seen it! So now I can laze around the house, in bed, in the beth, and still MN, yeah right!! LOL Think I have had a total of 2 baths since we moved in!

Hope GC feels better soon, and everyone elses poorlies, horrible time of year, it's just one bug after the other.

Am about to get the last few bits of stocking fillers, and then I'm done for our 3, still have families to sort, and then I am going to do an ocado shop, it's going to be a big one, have got DS2's party to cater for, the normal week's shop, and make a start on the xmas food shopping. Am not looking forward to it!

Might have to treat myself to a little something after, just for all my hard work!!

Speaking of online shopping, has anyone ordered things like xmas cards and wrap on line before? I wouldn't usually, (am a bit of a freak when it comes to the quality, hate xmas cards that feel like paper, and hate wrapping paper that tears on the corners because it's too thin) but am seriously running out of time, and have no weekends left to get it sorted in town, don't know where to order it all from? Was thinking clintons but have been dissapointed the last couple of years with theirs. W H Smith's have gone right down hill as well unless you want to pay £8 per card, which I deffo do not want!! Any ideas?

Right, The Book People here we come.... didn't MN used to have a discount for them?

Morning (just!)

Sorry for poorlies, DD2 has a bit of a croak and sniffle today, hopefully it won't get any worse.

Nice to see you Lightning, yes I am still pregnant - due on sunday. That's a point, today is my guess on my syndicate.

EDD: 6th December
(DD1 14 days late, 3.10pm, 7lb 9.5oz, DD2 3 days late, 7.13pm, 7lb 10.5oz)

Moosy - 3rd December, 1.16pm, 7lb 11.5oz.
Star - 4th December, 6.30pm, 7lb 10oz
IDOB - 5th December, 8pm, 7lb 12oz
Kayz - 6th December, 6.14am 8lb 2oz
Diege - 7th December 10.16am, 71b 110z
tink - 8th of dec, 12 noon , 8lbs
Ses - 9th Dec, 10.17am, 8lb 9oz

Have a feeling I might not win it unless she pops out in the next 1.5 hours!

I got my cards and paper from WHS, they were all 3 for 2 so I got 3 rolls of paper and 84 for cards for about £19.

Hello! Probably the last time I'll be on before the move. Good to see you LIGHTNING< and yes, we are very much on the move Had a very stressful few weeks when our buyers decided that they wanted £15 grand off the price but we held firm and they exchanged... We have run out of tape, black binsacks and have only 2 boxes left, yet still have a bedroom and kitchen to pack up. Now I know what people mean when they get to the stage where they just throw everything into the car 'loose'
Good luck MOOS not long now at all! Sounds like you're well prepared anyway .
On wrapping front I tend to buy mine from Sainsbury's just because it's our local place, but not esp fussy (am a bit with cards). I am still recovering from the 2 dds birthdays, but will get into xmas gear next week promise! school fun day thing sounds good CANT - what a great idea!
Hope everyone is ok. Only dd1 poorly now and will probably be off tomorrow . Ds had his first nursery visit today, and he is there for 2 hrs tomorrow morning on his own!!! Have swopped dd3's days so she is there too
Hopefully will get internet connections sorted asap so see you all soon!
ps: loving all these boots - have a pair of ASOS that I love and have my eye on a Dune pair of over the knees )

Oh and shock of all shocks, the table has arrived, no sign of the chairs, though I expected no less, think I might tackle Debenhams before I reward all my clever witty arguments with a treat! Can't wait to hear the answer to "what am I supposed to do with a table with no chairs?"! It has to be better than the answer I got to "Do you treat all your customers like this?" he said "Well not all of them move house" As if they've never delivered to the same person but at a new address - well they obviously don't! Am sufficiently cross enough to ring them now!!

Report
IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 03/12/2009 15:32

Tell you what they are absolute knobs! Apparently the chairs are still being held at the sodding depot because no one had thought to let them know that they'd tried to deliver them to the wrong address! So now it's going to take 48-78 hours (no, not 72 hours, that wouldn't be long enough) to get an answer from the depot about why they are still there, when she's just told me they haven't told them the new address! Why can anyone go onto a delivery firm's website and track a parcel in seconds, and yet it takes Debenhams up to 78 hours?

Oh and the answer to the table without chairs thing was "I can see where you're coming from" I nearly fainted as I was too stunned by their all seeing sight..... Am cross now.
