RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 29/11/2009 11:00

Hi TINKS! dh also has manflu . Nothing to do with copious amounts of alcohol consumed last night then . Have bathed dds and washed hair times 3, packed a few more boxes, sorted out e-bay parcels, emptied dishwasher and put clothes wash on, dome breakfasts and now time for ds's feed. Waiting for the beast upstairs to stir and feeling more than a little pi**ed off after being up with dd3 all night

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 29/11/2009 11:30

soz for bad night men hey!!

does coat look warm enough?!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 29/11/2009 11:36

Yes, I'd say so as it's a wool mix. You may still need to layer in very cold spells (or get one of those puffa type things to cosy up in in extreme weather!).

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 29/11/2009 11:43

i have already got a puffa coat it is what i wear now cheers diege

essenceofSES · 29/11/2009 12:30

Agree with men =
Although to be fair I think I'm just as much at fault here at the moment but being full of cold, lack of sleep (run of the mill I know!) doesn't help! DH makes it worse when he complains about being tired when he hardly stirred all night!

Diege - you sound like superwoman doing all that this morning and whilst feeling bleurgh.

tink - I think the coat will be warm enough. Hope DH recovers quickly.

XFactor - Joe is great and v consistent but just doesn't really entertain me IYKWIM. I think Stacey was great last night (except when talking to Dermot!) and loved her styling for the first song. I also like Olly. Lloyd should go and Danyl annoys me!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 29/11/2009 13:06

Hi SES! Ahh I see you have got into the whole sleep competition thing with dh - gets to us all eventually . I was cross with dh for insisting on telling me his dream last night - I mean, correct me if I'm wrong but that means he was actually asleep . That's how bad I get about his whinging!!!
He's now up and has taken older dds to supermarket for their lunch and a shop. DD3 asleep on sofa bless her, ds asleep upstairs. I have gone on box-packing strike. Cooking a curry from Slimming world mag this afternoon and looking forward to x-factor if I can keep my eyes open!

Starshinetiger · 29/11/2009 15:16

Oh, Diege and Ses, total sypmathy with the sleep issues and competition. Hope you both have better nights tonight. Having some issues with it myself today - I took DC to my Mum's on Weds pm and came back yesterday pm, which meant that DH had 3 (three!!!) whole nights of uninterrupted sleep, and yes, he was on late on Weds and Thurs and ]Friday early, but it meant he got a lie-in on Thurs and Saturday (and for me 7.25 on Friday after 8 hours uninterrupted sleep would have counted as a lie-in too!). Anyway, who got up this morning? Me, of course [grr] I know that as I am bfing I do have to do most, but....
Ah well, I am sure I will get a day off in the next year My night was nowhere near as bad as yours though Diege - poor DD3 and you. DD has been ill last few days and really poor sleep - was awake for 2 hours in middle of night on Friday and nothing would console her, but then she did sleep from 2am to 8.45am with just a feed at 6.15am - think she really liked being in bed with me at my Mum's!
Ah well, should be spending some time with DH and DS while DD naps. Will do proper catch-up later.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 29/11/2009 16:08

Hi STAR! Thanks for the sympathies - it does help actually Can't believe your dh - please pelt him with some very stale s for me.
Older dds have gone on last minute oputing to playbarn with a (brave) friend and her children and dd3 is in that obnoxious 'getting better but very irritable' phases. We've put Elf on for her (all time xmas fave film)but she's stomping round the room...Not too long till bedtime I suppose

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 29/11/2009 16:26

ello

have just put tree up

dd1 enjoyed helping

dont feel very xmassy!! not sure if its because we r in hull for xmas

essenceofSES · 29/11/2009 19:32

Yup sleep competitiveness just about sums it up! We had a couple of chats today though which has helped. DH is currently cooking me steak

DS's cold has really come out even more in force today. He was feeling v miserable for himself earlier. I did his bath a little earlier than normal and so far he's been asleep 45mins. I could do with an early night so will probably head off to bed after XFactor.

Star - day off in the next year, that'd be good!

Diege - hope you enjoy your curry. Would be interested in the recipe if it's a SW one if you get chance.

Kay - so I dare mention the football??!

Tink - I don't feel at all Christmassy yet!

Right, let's hope for better nights all round tonight!

essenceofSES · 29/11/2009 19:55

Hmm!DS is awake again already!

IDOBisamummy · 29/11/2009 21:57

Oh no Ses, hope he settles back down soon and lets you get some sleep .

Tink - can't believe you have your tree up already, it's not even December yet! You must be even more of a christmas lover than me (I am so excited already ).

Star - total sympathy from me. I have tried to explain to DP that just because I have to feed DD doesn't mean he can't wind her and settle her back in the basket or get her up and changed/dressed in the morning but he thinks since I'm up anyway he may as well stay in bed .

Diege - curry sounds good. How is the packing going.

We were planning a trip to Castle Howard today to have a look at the decorations then to have a long walk around the grounds but it was scuppered by the rain . The weather has been miserable all day. Had a boring day in the house instead - we eventually wrapped DD up, stuck her in the carrier under an umbrella and went for a walk along the river in the rain. I hope it dries up this week, I hate being stuck indoors.

bumpsnowjustplump · 29/11/2009 22:52

Well I have only just got Owen to sleep for the third time tonight, which doesn't bode well..... still he can not be up anymore than he was last night (every hour) so i am going to bed and hope I sleep through it tonight......

night all...

Kayzr · 30/11/2009 06:51

Morning

Bump, I hope Owen slept better for you last night. It sounds like you had a great day on Saturday.

Diege, I hope that DD3 is better today. Poor little thing.

We are on flood alert here. Luckily it won't reach us unlike the last floods. We won't be able to get to work though but that's not too much of a bad thing. Though I have just checked the environment agency website and I think the danger has passed and it's stopped raining.

Hope everyone is well.

Morning Hope the rains stop for you KAYZ (though can see the advantages re: work).
Hope you got more sleep last night BUMPS x
Well got to 5am last night before dd3 started screaming 'HOT!!! at the top of her voice . So she's not in nursery today (though seems brighter in herself); bodes quite well for nursery tomorrow though. On the downside ds will have to miss his forst nursery visit and dd1 has now picked up the bug so is at home too - makes moving a tad more difficult to say the least, so just going to do what I can.
Hope everyone else is ok

essenceofSES · 30/11/2009 09:37

Morning! Not the best night here either. DS was awake, rolling and chatting between 2 and 4am!

Meant to be going Christmas shopping today here with Mum. Will probably go anyway as will be better than being stuck inside.

Diege - Day off for DD3 will hopefully give her chance to recharge. Hope DD1 has a milder dose. Shame about DS's nursery visit. Just hope your DH doesn't get it as then that would really be difficult moving! I remember moving house when I was 10yr old and my dad had a bad dose of 'flu.

Kay - fingers crossed the floods avoid you.

I meant to post this last week that my SIL sent me. She's head at this school and really makes all the floods up in Cumbria more real IYKWIM.

Bumps - I really don't know how you manage on such little sleep every night. Hope last night wasn't too bad.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 30/11/2009 09:45

Hi SES! That link's great - some of the children's coments were very touching and it certainly does bring it home, like children's words often do. Sorry for bad night - assume O is still in your room? Just thinking because J is in with us and wondered if it was a good idea to move him as we move into the new house to his own room? I remember the night chatting as being a cue to move dds into their rooms Could that be a solution? Enjoy your shopping!

essenceofSES · 30/11/2009 10:16

We were going to move him this wkend but as he was waking more with his cold and feeling sorry for himself, we postponed it. He's still really snotty and dribbling a river - think his top teeth are edging closer.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 30/11/2009 10:19

See what you mean SES, no point moving if poorly. Tiredness kicking in here now; must resist the lure of the biscuit tin. Have managed to lose the half stone I put on when stressed about the house so don't want to undo the good work.
Right, better get dressed. So far ds is the only one who is!

Hello

Hope you are well, though sounds like the sick bay is pretty packed out on the Wagon.

Been to my women's health physio appt today, 4th one and its really beginning to help my sorry pelvic floor

Hope everyone is ok- DD is at nursery today so I should tidy up whilst I can... not tempted though. MN active conversations calls!

SHout at me if Im back here in the next hour!

gingerbreadlatte · 30/11/2009 15:42

lol Kay, I have days like that. I reckon nesting goes on for years!.....

... ok, I am going to tidy up!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 30/11/2009 15:47

KAYZ get your backside over here and get some boxes filled . I am whacked and have hardly broken the surface of what needs to be done. I suppose if the worst comes to the worst we just pile stuff into the car
Hi TINKS! Get it on e-bay is my advice, or maybe try the for mn for sales board?
Sooo tired..I'm going to sneak out of my shift on the wagon sick bay and pop into the soa if that's ok?
