Hi TINKS . Is dd2 walking yet? If just cruising I'd only stick to the one pair myself. Re: Clark's, I have dd3's trainers from there, and always get the summer doodles. School shoes sometimes, but this year we got from Startright for dd2 and a pair of Hushpuppies for dd1 which have been brilliant. For weekend shoes I've bought from Boden this year (for ankle boots and baseball boots). Trainers from Clarkes and a pair of kickers for dd2.
Am buggy shopping today am thinking of getting a quinny zapp for ds (had one for dd3 and really liked it). Have decided against the bugaboo bee as at £400 plus is a little pricey considering I'll just be using in pushchair mode! Have decided to buy a new raincover for my pliko, and hope it will be more compliant when in pushchair mode. At what age did everyone change from pram to pushchair if that makes sense?

tinkisnotlongtillchristmas · 26/11/2009 10:47

hi diege

meant dd1 my 4 year old soz.
can only really get her clarks has small awkward feet!!
want trainers to go with trousers and boots to go with her boden dresses look gorgeous

didnt use pram with bracken (dd2) used infant carrier car seat on quinny frame. have quinny buzz it is great.

with bracken sticking with dd1s cruising shoes that she had when she is walking will get her her first pair

good luck getting zapp

Diege · 26/11/2009 11:17

Ah right, in that case go for it
The zapp has been bought Got it in iron which is a bright turquoise, from kiddicare (£15 off). I know people donlt like them as they don't recline/have no basket etc but they are so light and easy to push, even with one hand. Plus they look great! (IMO!)

tinkisnotlongtillchristmas · 26/11/2009 12:16

ye for zapp luv that colour

Diege · 26/11/2009 12:18

Thanks TINKS

IDOBisamummy · 26/11/2009 12:19

Hi all,

sorry for all the sickies , hope they all recover quickly.

Can't - you are a FANTASTIC mum but all that worry, frustration and rain was going to have an effect at some point. Sounds like some retail therapy (and maybe a mid-shop ht chcolate and brownie) is in order.

Ses - I don't know how you fit all that in!

Diege - yah for Zapp, I think it looks great too.

Sparkly - hope you are getting some sleep.

Hi Ginger, Tink, Star, anyone else I've missed.

Well I think DD has definitely hit the six week growth spurt! She has been much happier for the last 2 days but wants to feed much more often and for longer than usual. At night she is feeding every 2/2.5 hours rather than 4-5 hours and even though she goes straight back to sleep between feeds it has come as a shock. I'm not used to it. She is smiling much more though and starting to babble at me a bit which makes up for it . Oh dear, I can hear her stirring, better go and get her for another feed.

Diege · 26/11/2009 13:04

Hi IDOB! Wow, even with the growth spurt shock to the system it sounds like you and dd are doing fabulously! I know what you mean though, if she's been going longer then 2.5 hours must seem tough It does sound like you're a natural!
DD3 has picked up and temp has dropped, which is a massive relief (little boy at same nursery diagonised with SF last week). Ds also seems a little better, though v.cross earlier on when he couldn't roll back after getting into his front. Not going to risk another bad night with dd3 though, so will get her dressed and head out to get medicaid and calpol later!
Hairdresser here any min (life goes on ). Back later.

IDOBisamummy · 26/11/2009 14:11

Thanks Diege - we have some great days when I feel we am doing really well then we'll have one of those stressed crying days and I feel totally lost . Overall she's a fairly easy baby though and I'm just loving having her!

I'm really glad DD3 is feeling better - fingers crossed it isn't SF and DS feels better soon too! What are you having done with your hair?

tinkisnotlongtillchristmas · 26/11/2009 15:31

glad things getting better idob

diege - glad kids getting better
enjoy hair

bumpsnowjustplump · 26/11/2009 15:53

Hello everybody do you remember me?

Due to the evil seductive fb i have not been on for ages but I am going to try harder in future...

We are all doing ok. DD has a bit of a tummy bug but is not too bad and ds has his first tooth!! It is one of the top ones as well which is unusual!!!

There are lots of people on here now that I dont know (or who have changed their name) so any introductions would be welcomed....

DS is still not sleeping. He has two 20 min naps during the day and is up every hour at night. We seem to have stumbled into an exceptance that this is the way it will be and got on with it really... He is still bf but isn't waking to feed every time!!! I love having in my bed for the cuddles but would cut my left arm off for a full hours sleep in one go!!!

How is everyone doing now?

bumpsnowjustplump · 26/11/2009 15:56

Oh just to add ds is walking around holding on to things and using his stride to ride lion and last night let go of the sofa and was still standing... He just stood there smiling for about a minute before he sat down.... I think he will be walking unaided before christmas......

gingerbreadlatte · 26/11/2009 16:19

Hi everyone

Cant - sorry you had bad morning- you are definately not bad mother- hope you had nice day today and double buggy wasnt too heavy around shops.

Ses- hi- enjoy your busy schedule

Diege- glad DD3 is on the mend. We definately need the Wagon sick bag and agree Ses should run the pharmacy
Good news on the Zapp. If you didnt have the Bee, what did you go with in the end when DS was born?

I looked at the zapp as small pram to fit in my car - looks great!

IDOB- hi, hang in there through the growth spurt.

Hi Bumps. I am a name change. I have a small giraffe and will be seeing you next thursday hopefully

Tink- glad removal was ok

hi everyone else!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 26/11/2009 16:46

Evening all- shoppibng did me the world of good, and only came home with a few items for anyone other than myself. got myself some lovely new undies sets from la senza as they were bra and briefs for only £15 but yet most of the bra's alone should have been over £20!!

Then i also got myself some ted baker gloves from Debenhams which are lovely and warm (tested them out on the school run)

Ended up getting DS a couple of tops for his bday (ben 10, transformers and a smart shirt), and got him a Kevin puppet(bird from 'UP' film), and got both DD! and DS a new disney pin for their lanyard things they got from paris for in their stockings... also got DH's mum some nice PJ's for xmas from M&S and thats it i think... oh no some pappa pig knickers for DD1 and a couple of feeding things (bowls and cutlery) for DD2...

Feel so much better for it...

Thanks everyone for your kind messages earlier... i know it was just a 'in the moment' feeling and the poor weather on top of everything else just made me want to blame someone... poor DD1 got it- though she's forgotten mummy was so mad at her now as she's bouncing (on knee's so i dont collar her about leg) on the sofa...

Hello Bump- it's glaskham here!! Nice to 'see' you!! Sounds like your DS is doing brill!!

Did read the rest but forgotten now...

Oh diege- zapp- i love the look of it but it just wasn't practical enough for me and was gutted with it...

bumpsnowjustplump · 26/11/2009 18:38

Ginger do you know if gruff can do Thursday? I did leave her a message on fb but there is no reply!! Really hope she can change the day!!!

Hello Glask how is dd2 doing now? Bet she is getting big now..

gingerbreadlatte · 26/11/2009 18:47

glad you are feeling better cant

Bumps

am,due to see Gruff tomorrow so I texted her today but had no reply- which is really unusual she is very efficient usually. Not seen her on FB for a while either - hope all ok, will ask about the day change if I see her.

essenceofSES · 27/11/2009 07:03

Morning!

Can all those in the wagon sick bay shove up please... DS and I both have colds and not slept well.

Meet up - Gruff's replied on FB and I've posted directions.

Cant - good shopping!

Bumps - good to see you here!

Kayzr · 27/11/2009 07:09

Hello,

Cant You are a wonderful mummy!! Don't ever think you aren't again!! Glad the shopping helped.

Bump Lovely to 'see' you. Sorry to hear that DS still isn't sleeping through. DS2 has just started to sleep through so maybe 11 months is a magic number.

Sorry not been around for a while. Been working too many hours and I have just been exhausted.

DS1 is really trying my patience at the minute. I swear he is 2 going on 15. DS2 fell asleep on the floor yesterday morning(refused his 9am nap). I quickly popped to the toilet as DS1 was happily playing with his trains. Next thing DS2 is screaming his head off. I ran downstairs and DS1 had covered DS2 with a blanket. Completely covered his head. I did lose it with him and just stuck him on the naughty step. I now have no idea what to do when I need the toilet as DS1 seems hell bent on trying to kill his brother.

Hope you are all ok.

Diege · 27/11/2009 08:55

Morning . Hope everyone is well and that the wagon sick bay can cope with those that are not! DD3's temp went through the roof (40 plus) yesterday afternoon, just as I thought she was getting better. She also started being sick, but as she's not eating just lots of saliva and bile (apologies if you're having breakfast!). This continued throughout the night and while the temp has come down a little this morning (38 ish) she's still not able to keep fluids (or meds) down. I don't think it SF as this is how she is when she's poorly, but is a nasty bug/virus. I really hope that the others don't get it - moving house with vomiting LOs wouldn't be fun! On the upside ds seems brighter. His cough is improving during the day and just bad at a few episodes during the day.
Good to hear from you LUMPY! Was asking about you a few weeks back - you've been missed! Can't belive ds is almost walking; he sounds very sweet. Sorry about the rubbish nights though
Hello GINGER! I can't rate the zapp high enough, it really is such a compact and light pushchair. DD3 even used to dose in her's, as though it doesn't recline it has quite a deep seat. You can also buy attachable wedge bags off ebay (and underneath baskets too)so storage problems solved. I will need mine to arrive today (it should do) as will need to put dd3 in it and ds in a sling to get the older dds from childminders. At least she can do an extra school run for me which helps (CM not dd3 ).
CANT, you have inspired me with your shopping account! I'm really getting into the Designers at Debs ranges. It was a place I never used to go, apart from make-up counters, but since buying the bulldog cushion that TINK talked me into I've asked for vouchers off mum and dad for xmas . Hope you feel a little refreshed today anyway x
KAYZ, sounds very frustrating with ds1, hope you're ok. How is work in relation to breaks etc? Sounds like you have a reasonable supervisor there anyway with the heating situation. I remember us all walking out of the uni the other year as heating went off, and we wouldn't teach the students that day (they were mostly pleased). You sound a hardier lot than us, but it's not reasonable to expect you to work in those conditions (illegal actually). Hope things get better with ds x
Hi IDOB x Hair was just roots and a cut (she's taken off loads , as they do ). Am having some layers put in next time
Work has been on again. Rather than the usual subtle 'demotion' you get when on mat leave it seems that I have been drafted into stuff that's a bit beyond me for jan(out of staffing necessity). Have to manage some degree programmes and the staff involved - I am very much a conflict avoider and management isn't my forte. On the plus side have anough funding to buy myself out of both the modules I teach so will free up time to get my research project completed (presuming the management stuff doesn't takle over).
Hello to everyone else! Better go and see to dd3.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 27/11/2009 09:55

morning...

Just done some more shopping online this time!! .... xmas presents for DH... but for me IYGWIM....

Diege- DD3's illness doesn't sound nice at all, hope she's on the mend soon and that the rest of the house dont get it.

Kayz- how nice of you to pop in- i've been missing you!!

Bump- DD2 is doing well, weaning is brill now, sleeping is great, size is still lagging though, she's still only just over 13lb... (what DS was at 9 wks old!!) She's starting to get a little more active too, is sitting up now, and can roll from front to back- but never the other way around (think thats down to hating being on her front!!)

Ses- sorry for colds- hope it passes soon.

Hello everyone else!!

Diege · 27/11/2009 10:07

ooh more underwear then CANT?
Have finally started packing, and not liking it at all! I mean where do you put the boxes while you're still in the house and need to actually get in, out and around rooms? If you're lurking LIGHTNING I need your advice!

tinkisnotlongtillchristmas · 27/11/2009 10:30

morning

cantmummyhaveabreak · 27/11/2009 10:39

Diege- i hated packing, when we moved though we were only in a flat and only had DS... I found that hard enough- my worst thing was not knowing what we should leave till the moving day- in the end i think i had about 4 boxes packed before then... the rest was done on the day- though i was 5mths PG with Dd1 so i got out of it- DH and his 2 mates did it all!! Really sympathise with you packing for a family of 6!!

Yep- more underwear.... decided i needed some nicer undies since loosing weight... ann summers had 3 for 2 across nearly everything... so couldn't resist.

gingerbreadlatte · 27/11/2009 10:45

Hello
Cold day today. My fingers are freezing. Am forced to wrap them around hot mugs of coffee!

Sorry for the sicklies. Diege- DD3 sounds poorly- hopefully she will be on the mend soon.

Cant believe that its friday again already.

Seeing gruff and the cub later at giraffe towers!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 27/11/2009 10:48

Cold here too Ginger. I'm just in leggings and a thin knitted s/s dress... i'm cold!! Sat next to the heater too, but it's pointing the other way and i think DD2 is lapping in all the heat!!

Diege · 27/11/2009 14:06

Enjoy your meet-up GINGER! Cold here too, though bix-packing is helping a bit with that. DD3 much better now and has had some soup for lunch. Have booked a taxi to take us up to CM and back as quite a walk and rain is forcast (I have visions of CANTS scenario yesterday!).
Zapp has arrived and I love it. Really lovely colours though J very scared to sit in it . Won't be using it just yet, but wanted to buy while the prices were low!
