Hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 28/09/2009 13:15

LuckyC - thanks for asking I'm OK, I think I really need a break tbh, we haven't had a decent holiday in ages (we went to France in the summer but it all went pear-shaped so was more stressful than anything else). I'm trying to find somewhere cheap to go at the moment! It is rough but I'm getting by. How are you?

Bessie123 - so sorry to hear that, thinking of you

Viv - congratulations on the scan, I'm glad everything's going well!

James - thinking of you.

Hollyoaks · 28/09/2009 14:06

bessie so sorry best of luck in the future.

viv pleased your scan was reassuring. Don't want to be in your position but that you got to see your little one.

I have found the heightened sense of smell has kicked in already. It's really weird though, I seem to notice people's personal odour . Not that they smell bad, just their smell iyswim.

LittleOneMum · 28/09/2009 14:35

Oh and viv you're going to think I'm a right stalker now but i went on the Ian Stuart website and looked at some of his dresses - WOW! You are going to look so stunning, we all want to see a photo of you in the dress on your profile in due course please!

VivClicquot · 28/09/2009 15:35

Hahaha I don't think you're a stalker at all! I just don't want to bore you all with my bridezilla tales, particularly as I've noticed people who go in for the big white wedding can sometimes come in for a bit of flak on Mumsnet...

If you really want to be stalkertastic, my dress is called Ceylon. The pics on IS's website don't do it justice at all (the best one is the main pic on the IS homepage where the model is sat down). TBH, it looks a bit grubby on there as it's shown in a taupe colour, whereas I've ordered mine in ivory. I'll def upload a pic onto here after the big day! x

pigleychez · 28/09/2009 15:47

James- thinking of you

Bessie how terrible for you. Good luck for future TTC.

Viv- What a worry but glad all is well
I wish I could get married again ( to DH of course!) I loved all that planning!

Bit of an odd question here..... Just come back from DD's swimming lesson and i have a pain in my bum! - Dont laugh! when I move i get a sharp shooting pain in my bum, hard to explain but its very uncomfortable.. anyone else? any ideas?

suey2 · 28/09/2009 16:31

yes, pigley be careful! this could be the start of SPD so nip it in the bud

OP posts:
pigleychez · 28/09/2009 16:32

suey - how?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/09/2009 16:35

Just got back from teh scan, very pleased to say that all is well, we saw a tiny (7mm!) little bean with a flickering heartbeat and a yolk sac.Barely anything to see yet! we've got a scan pic. She said she didn't really know what had caused the bleeding but it probably a cervical erosion or something on this side of the cervix anyway. Which is reassuring! WE both cried when she said "here's your baby" it was such a relief. Phew.

Pigley, the pain in your bum could be a touch of sciatica. Is it like a sharp shooting pain down towards your leg? It's a nerve thing, I don't think it's serious.

Viv that dress is gorgeous! don't be afraid to tell us about your wedding on here, it's nice to have pleasant news, and it's all going to be talk of piles and leaky baps soon enough.

VivClicquot · 28/09/2009 16:52

James I know exactly what you mean - I had to blink away the tears this morning when the sonographer turned around and said, "Congratulations. Looks like you've got a very healthy embryo in there."

We then had to see a nurse about next steps in terms odd scans etc and by coincidence, it was the same one who broke the news to us that our baby's heartbeat had stopped last time around. Her exact words were, "Bloody hell. You don't hang around do you?"

memorylapse · 28/09/2009 16:58

Bessie- so sorry to hear your news, cant beleive how much sadness this thread has had

James-thats fab news..Im so pleased..woop!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 28/09/2009 17:23

James - so happy for you

Viv - gorgeous dress! Feel free to tell us about your wedding, I love hearing about weddings

Hollyoaks · 28/09/2009 18:16

james congratulations

viv talk away about the wedding, its been so long since mine . Its such a wonderful day I'm sure you want to talk about it before and after.

charmbutterfly · 28/09/2009 18:18

James- Glad your scan went well

Just came back from the Dr's. Incredibly exciting stuff comfirmed my due date, asked if I had any questions and gave the number of the Community midwife to ring. I didnt really expect much more anyway.

Pains have subsided now which is good. Tired as usual.

AnAngelWithin · 28/09/2009 20:12

james and memorylapse, so glad your scans went well

i've disappeared off the stats again!!

so much sad news on this thread so sorry ladies.

not much to report here really, just the tiredness getting me at the moment. A week on tuesday seems such a long time to wait to see if my little baby has got a heartbeat!

suey2 · 28/09/2009 20:15

Thanks for support guys

Pigley let me know if it comes back and I will point you in the right direction.

Got through to day no prob but was not at all hungry: only had a bowl of cereal and a kitkat all day. But made up for it with oxtail stew, cabbage and baked potato this evening. Yum!

Super sense of smell here to: I nearly hurled when my secretary was eating sardines at lunchtime!

Den26 · 28/09/2009 20:29

James - was thinking about you today - i'm so glad things worked out and the scan was reassuring

Bessie - so sorry to hear your news, take care...

Thanks to all who replied about what vitamins you are taking.

Very nauseous today with a horrible taste in my mouth - but given the events of the weekend i'll take that as a positive

sweetkitty · 28/09/2009 21:21

argh I feel so bad, supersmell here too when DP comes back from his runs the smell of him makes me want to hurl. Everything makes me want to hurl though. DP annoying me he says he is going to stop asking me how I am feeling as I always say "not good" bloody men, can you imagine if THEY had to go through this?

Scan this Friday am thinking everything must be OK for me to feel this bad, stay positive stay positive.

bessie - so so sorry you are having to leave us, I know it sucks big time and then some take care of yourself x

suey - sorry to hear about your Dad too

pigley - I am getting some aches too probably everything stretching and in my case going "not a-bloody-gain"

viv - great news about your scan, keep talking about your wedding it's exciting and we want details

james - lovely news as well

kaylo sorry to see you go, everything will be alright you'll see, take care xxx

night everyone off to bed, at least there I don't feel sick, must upload pic of my "bump" as well.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/09/2009 22:04

Hobnobfanatic · 28/09/2009 22:05

I read today that scientists think morning sickness is a woman's way of protecting her body from dodgy food that could harm the baby - not to do with hormones. It was in New Scientist last year, IIRC. So it explains why women often go off dairy, meat etc. Same theory as to why they go off coffee and tea etc. But I seem to have gone off everything!

I fancied a fishfinger sarnie at lunchtime, which did the trick for about half an hour, but even the memory of it makes me queasy now.

Please, please, please - everyone, tell me what you are eating! I need inspiration! Please!

cupcakefairy · 28/09/2009 22:10

Hi girls. Just been catching up. So sorry to the girls who have left us know just how you feel and it is horrible. Hugs to you all.

I'm only taking folic acid Den (and eating 2 brazil nuts a day for the zinc, probably an old wives tale but supposedly helps prevent miscarriage!)

I too have greasy hair, nausea and ridiculous tiredness. Seeing mw on Saturday so hoping she might let me have an early scan... such lovely news on the successful scans already had

charmbutterfly · 28/09/2009 22:20

Hobnobfanatic you should try pastas, they will fill you and most likely will not make you sick!

That's what i have been surviving on!

brightredballoon · 28/09/2009 22:58

Hi everyone

We are back from a weekend up North, had a lovely time and wish I wasn't working tomorrow.

I am a member of the minging hair and awful skin clan as well, I remember when I was pregnant with DD the Doctor prescribed me Aveeno skincare which did seem to help, wonder if I can get it prescribed again rather than just buying to try it?!

Only had time to skim over the posts since I was last on, so sorry Kaylo and Bessie (and anyone else I missed sorry), do drop in and update us of what antenatal thread you are on.

Hobnob I have days when I eat everything in sight which then makes me feel more nauseous and then days when only marmite on toast and lentil soup will do
