welcome flutterby

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 27/09/2009 21:46

forces, glad your dd is on the mend, it must have been so worrying for you!

pigly, I'd have been well paranoid if the midwife had said "blimey youve got a hairy one!" as I was giving birth! lol

So glad for those of you getting good scan results, it's nice to see some happiness and celebration on what has been a tough thread so far!

charmbutterfly · 28/09/2009 04:15

I am constantly listening to the baby's heart beat over and over!!! It looked like his/her heart was as big as the head and pounding away steadily!!!! I just cannot believe it!!

I think i am going to cry!

Hollyoaks · 28/09/2009 07:28

forces hope your dd is feeling better. Its awful when gps don't place much importance on mothers intuition.

den still not feeling sick. Crossing my fingers I'm lucky this time but still feel like a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. Still only 5 1/2 weeks so early days.

kaystar that happened to me in a hotel once, however I wasnt pg but had probably had a few drinks and didnt want to be outside in the cold. I hate being dragged from my bed. They sound like how I behaved at uni. We held lighters up to the smoke alarms thinking it would send sprinklers off . Suffice to say it didnt work and all we got was a warning

Kaylo · 28/09/2009 07:57

Charmbutterfly I did just cry!!

I'm so happy that you're all doing well and beans are healthy.

I need to step away now, maybe if my scan on Friday had a different outcome I would have heard the heartbeat... I don't want to think like that though so I'm gonna lock myself in the TTC boards and only peep in here to check on you guys.

I'm sorry to be a depressant on this thread - really wanna still be on here but t'was not to be.

Gonne start TTC soon - will pop back when I get my next BFP.

Take Care everyone and enjoy your pregnancies.
A toast (cos I can drink wine for the time being...) to all you lovely ladies having healthy pregnancies, easy labours and quiet, contented little babies.

Oh....And I'm gonna keep looking to find out which of you's are having twins...surely at least one of you must be???

Love to All
xxxxxxx

Hollyoaks · 28/09/2009 08:20

kaylo look after yourself, you've been really brave but it sounds as if you need some time to get over the ordeal you and your family have just been through. I wish you loads of luck and I'm sure things will happen at the right time. I'm still popping onto the conception threads so I'm sure I will hear from you there.

HeadInAWhirl · 28/09/2009 08:22

Still here

Memory lapse - you and me both, DH has had his head bitten off so often this last week it looks like we don't get on at all, let alone well enough to have kids together!

Forces sweetheart - how did you find your diabetes affected your last pg? One of the ladies on my Nov08 AN (now PN obviously) had a really bad time with her levels, and while BFing too
Hope your DD is feeling better

Suey2 - so sorry to hear about your Dad, do you mind me asking what is wrong with him, and how long he has?

Had a lovely day at DGodD's christening yesterday, she was very good, and DS slept all night despite falling out of bed! He was on the floor fast asleep when I went in to see his sister who woke at 1030 and 230 an got up at 6 which is a good night atm, still could do with another full nights sleep!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 28/09/2009 08:53

ForcesSweetheart - Sorry to hear about your DD, hope she's OK.

The emotional rollercoaster is really tough, I'm quite surprised because I don't remember this last time.

DH has a bad cold and is snoring horribly so had to go in the spare room last night. We thought we may as well take advantage of the spare room while we still have it! We'll move DD in to there at some point.

Kaystar - what a weekend! Not surprised you're .

LuckyC · 28/09/2009 09:32

Hi all: I am back after a little break from mn and have just spent nearly an hour of work's time (HOW BAD IS THAT) catching up on all your news.

I am sick, sick, sick and sick of being sick. Have lost 3 kgs (really worried but mw did not seem to care?) (and anyway have enough fat to live off like a camel.)

Can't eat and am super-stressing about poor little bean living on crackers and marmite + pregnacare. Bring on the end of ms, please.

at least I am not doing this without hot water. Evil mean landlord.

how are you doing on the rollercoaster? I have had such a hard time adjusting to the thought of being pregnant and have been very up and down - so I really know what you mean. Hope you're OK.

thinking of you...

best of luck, sure it will go well for you!

Adam and Joe podcast addict here too!

Greasy hair! Me too! Have changed shampoo like 3 times but no luck.

LuckyC · 28/09/2009 09:35

this is bold not , sorry.

PS is that I have developed super-smell. Everything smells weird. Our fabric softener made me throw up. So gross. Have had to order special unscented stuff from internet.

Said to my friend Vicky 'Oh but I wanted invisibility to be my superpower not super-smell' and she said 'Invisibility comes with pregnancy, wait til you are 6 months and looking for a seat on the tube' - funny

first1 · 28/09/2009 09:40

Hi ladies! Can I join in please? I'm pregnant with my first, and due May 17th. It's still all veryyyy surreal! But had early scan last week an so far so good(touch wood!)Looking forward to going through everything with everyone

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/09/2009 09:53

LOL at your funny friend LuckyC

Well, just a few hours to go now til I (hopefully) find out either way. I've tried not to have hope but I don't think you can help but yearn for a good outcome. Not looking forward to the trans-vaginal scan either, nowt like a bit of indignity when you're feeling vulnerable eh!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/09/2009 09:54

Forgot to say hi and welcome to to the thread first1 and flutterby - hope everything goes smoothly for you both!

LuckyC · 28/09/2009 10:18

everything crossed for you, James. x

Hollyoaks · 28/09/2009 10:21

Yeah, fingers crossed here too James

so so sorry to hear that bessie123 how far along were you? xx

suey2 · 28/09/2009 11:41

oh no bessie!

headinawhirl my dad had a stroke 2.5 years ago and has slowly deteriorated since. He can't talk reliably, is doubly incontinent, no use of the right arm, can't walk etc. Bloody horrible

OP posts:
JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/09/2009 11:54

Bessie, so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself and all the best for ttc again, when the time is right. x

Suey, god knows where you're finding the strength to run a business, be pregnant and deal with your father's condition and diagnosis - you're an inspiration. Hope you're feeling ok.

Hobnobfanatic · 28/09/2009 11:58

I'm so sorry, Bessie

Sorry, too, to hear about your dad, Suey. It must be devastating to watch a loved one deteriorate like that.

Good luck, James - I have everything crossed for you.

LuckyC - I know what you mean about sickness and smell. Everything makes me retch. I'm buying stuff, trying a mouthful and then binning it. I just don't know what to eat! What is working for everyone else? What are you managing to eat?

VivClicquot · 28/09/2009 12:10

Hi ladies,

Have had a worrying couple of days - had some spotting yesterday while I was at our wedding venue having my final planning meeting. DP was still away on his stag do, so I was just terrified. It wasn't much and didn't last long, but was enough to make me phone the EPU who told me that if it carried on, I should come straight in this morning.

So, got up this morning and there was quite a lot more, so rushed straight to EPU. They gave me a scan and blow me if there wasn't a lovely embryo with a very strong heartbeat happily getting on with things. There was no evidence of any bleeding in the womb, so they have no idea what caused it or anything but are as confident as they can be that everything is hunky dory. Relief is not the word.

They've booked me in for another reassurance scan next Tuesday, so in the meantime, am just going to try and get lots of rest over the next few days.

Oh - and he/she is two days further on than we thought, so EDD looks like 18th May, rather than 20th.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/09/2009 12:25

Viv, glad you were reassured by your scan, bleeding is always so scary! You don't need any more stress planning a wedding, do you!!

Haribolicious · 28/09/2009 12:40

Bessie - so sorry look after yourself.

Viv - how scary but so glad you managed to get a scan and it's all positive!

Suey - sorry to hear about your dad...I lost my Mum to a stroke recently and it's terrible to watch them go from a very able human being to someone who is unable to look after themselves....especially with no warning - Mum was never ill before the stroke

Hob and Lucky - I'm with you on the heightened sense of smell...I swear I could tell you what brand of soap/deodrant people use at 20 paces! Having to disguise my retching at work is not fun! I'd be interested to know what is working for others food-wise too as I find that when I want to eat, I don't fancy anything or what I do fancy, I take a bite and then can't face anymore!

Haribolicious · 28/09/2009 12:41

Thinking of you James.

LittleOneMum · 28/09/2009 13:09

Viv - am so glad that it all worked out! Bless.

Bessie really sorry to hear your news.

All well here, the nausea is now out of control, and only eating helps, but hey, I guess it means its all going well...
