Hope the scan went ok, memorylapse. I've got mine tomorrow afternoon to investigate the bleeding. Yesterday I had a small amount of red bleeding with clots so been lying down since and had no more bleeding so far, but I seem to get the bleeding in the afternoon, so I may get some later today, I hope not though.

Dp has been really good this weekend, he's done everything for our toddler, he's just taken him to the park for a run about. Somehow this experience has brought us closer than in recent months.

memorylapse · 27/09/2009 13:24

James-keep on taking it easy and Ive got my fingers crossed for you tomorrow

the private scan was great! cant beleive how much bean has grown..Im measuring bang on 8weeks 1 day..and bean was 16mm and I could see it moving..you cold just make out its little arm and leg buds and the heart was hammering away..I actually heard the heartbeat!..Ive never heard the heartbeat that early in pregnancy before..heart rate was 164 bpm which sonographer said was perfect..she had a good look round and said she could see no evidence of a clot and said that everything looked fine to her..I got some lovely scan pics too

HeadInAWhirl · 27/09/2009 14:42

ml, thats brilliant

Hope everything is OK James

suey2 · 27/09/2009 14:53

Oh memorylapse I'm so pleased for you!!!

James I hope everythings ok!!

No more bleeding here - so mc must be over. Which means will be TTC again this week DH can't wait for me to be pregnant again - he seems to have renewed enthusiasm

Hope you're all well xx

memorylapse · 27/09/2009 15:59

Thanks Kaylo good luck with ttc again

Den26 · 27/09/2009 17:33

James I hope your scan goes ok tomorrow, i'll be thinking of you.

Kaylo i wish you all the best with TTC

CharmButterfly thats so exciting! you must be pleased!

Hollyoaks i'm around the same stage as you and so far no MS for me either! Its about the only time ever that we actually want to be sick??!!!

Memorylapse im glad your scan went well

As far as i go, i have had no more bleeding and no pains so i am hoping thats a good sign. I have a scan a week on wednesday but i might do HPT before then just to make sure alls well after this weekend as it feels so far away.

Quick question - what vitamins is everyone taking? Obviously folic acid, is anyone taking a combined pill such as pregnacare. I haven't seen my GP to discuss this.

memorylapse · 27/09/2009 17:50

den I brought the pregnacare vitamins..but kept throwing them up as Ive been really poorly with the sickness..am going to have to start trying to take them again...when I had my scan the sonographer showed me beans little developing spine..it looked like tramlines..reminded me that I really must get some folic acid into me

Den26 · 27/09/2009 17:55

Thanks memorylapse, i've been taking the pregnacare vitamins but it does say not to take unless you've spoken to GP so worried me a bit!! I suppose as long as i'm taking folic acid thats the most important thing. How exciting about your scan! I hope my next scans as successful

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 27/09/2009 18:35

Memorylapse - so happy for you! That sounds wonderful

Den26 - I'm taking folic acid and iron tablets. I tried the Boots pre-natal vitamins last time but they were massive so I couldn't swallow them without throwing up.

I've been so emotional today No good reason really, I just feel very overwhelmed by everything. Not sure what's wrong with me, I wasn't this bad last time. I was nearly in tears all day today (on a day out with my mum and sis) and then came home and sobbed.

Den26 · 27/09/2009 18:38

TCH I can totally sympathise! I've had a lump in my throat during the adverts on TV and have been tending to take what people say very personally, its horrible. Always feel better after a cry tho!!! ;)

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 27/09/2009 18:40

den, I asked my doctor about prenatal vitamins and he said "yeah, pregnancare or something is fine" - I take one pregnacare and one folic acid, because I need a larger dose of folic acid due to being er... lardy.

(assuming everything is ok at the scan) I'll probably stop taking the additional folic acid at 12 weeks when the baby is fully formed, and just stick to the pregnacare.

memorylapse, that's great news about your scan! how's your sickness now?

Still no bleeding today which I'm taking as a good sign, although I'm bored of laying on the sofa and I've almost eaten an entire pack of hobnobs to myself.

HOW'S EVERYONE DOING, GIRLIES?

ForcesSweetheart · 27/09/2009 19:01

Sorry ladies I've totally lost track of the thread. Been in hospital all weekend with DD. On Friday when I got home from work she had a temp of 39.7 and was lethergic and complaining of stomach pain. Got her in car to go to a&e and she puked everywhere. After 5 hours in a&e they got her onto children's ward where blood tests and chest x-rays diagnosed pneumonia. Probably as a complication of the flu she's been unable to shake for the last 2-3 weeks. Am so . We've been to GP twice in the last 2 weeks with concerns about the coughing she's had and both times we've been told it's nothing to worry about and will pass in time. Anyway, I'll stop ranting now and try to get caught up at least a bit on what's been happening here! L x

Kaystar · 27/09/2009 19:13

Evening all!

memorylapse that is such great news about the scan - wonderful to have heard the bean's heart beating.

Glad to hear the bleeding and pains have gone den26. I have been taking folic acid, my usual Iron + Vit C and Selenium tablets plus Vitamin D - cos living up here in the north it gets so dark in the autumn and winter that we don't get as much vit D as we need during pregnancy. When I spoke to my doc, she said that I did not need to take anything which is odd since all the official places here say you should take folic acid asap. Have now changed docs anyway and will check with the MW when I see her in a couple of weeks. Am a big vitamin taker normally anyway, so really am not taking that many more now!

Teambuilding weekend started off okay, and surprisingly the catapult building was fun (although my team came second to last!). Everything went well until the evening - managed to abandon my welcome drink after two sips and also avoid the two other girls in my team who were there. Unfortunately, this backfired slightly as I instead choose the table from hell: three hours of talking nothing but work while pretending to drink my wine

Managed to do okay in the bar by abandoning drinks all over the place and was tucked up in bed by 12.30. Then... some of the younger ones from the other department came back to the hotel block we were staying in, cranked up the stereo, lit a fire and set off the fire alarm. So at 2.30am we were woken by a high pitched screeching from the alarms and then had to be evacuated into the cold night

Had to stand out in the cold for an hour while the fire brigade arrived. During this time one of my colleagues said she had noted that I had not been drinking and asked if I was pregnant - great... Had to lie (basically, I cannot trust her with the information), which was horrid but am pretty annoyed that she put me in that position. If I had noticed that about someone else I would not ask them...

So, am now back home struggling to stay awake after only about four hours sleep - and if I get my hands on those little ----s there will be bloodshed My sleep is very precious to me (especially at the moment, plus I was quite worried about how much smoke there was in the building).

Now just looking forward to the moment that I can fall into bed!

Hope everyone has had good weekends!

Kaystar · 27/09/2009 19:17

Sorry forcessweetheart, x-post (it took me a long to time type in my rant...).

Sorry to hear about your DD - must have been a horribly worrying time for you. I hope she's doing better and that they are taking good care of her in the hospital - can understand why you're so at the doc - terrible.

ForcesSweetheart · 27/09/2009 19:17

kaylo I'm so sorry to hear your news. As everyone's already said, you're strength is quite something. I'm sure it'll be no time at all before you're back on these threads. Wishing you all the best of luck.

memorylapse - I'm so glad the scan went so well. How exciting to see bean moving so early. I can't wait for my first scan.

pigley curiosity is getting the better of me - what did ya win??

memorylapse · 27/09/2009 19:35

TCH- pregnancy hormones are strange things and have a lot to answer for..Ive been the other way and have been a bad tempered old bag!

James-Glad you are still resting

Kaystar- glad to hear you got through the weekend..I would be seriously unamised if Id been woken up at that hour of the morning..grrr..hope you can catch up on your sleep.
Im lucky in that as a t total gal..no one would notice if I wasnt drinking

Forces Sweetheart-your poor dd, what a worrying time for you..I would be angry at the doctor too..theres no substitute for a mothers intution that something isnt right.

Hope everyone else is ok..Ive still got bad sickness but Ive abandoned the tablets as Ive found that polos work better!

memorylapse · 27/09/2009 19:37

unamused..not unamised..stupid keyboard

suey2 · 27/09/2009 19:41

Forcessweetheart what an awful weekend. Hope dd recovers very soon.

Kaystar I feel your pain. The office gossip no doubt. Just what you didn't want.

I second the emotional rollercoaster. I have been feeling terribly down all weekend: don't know if it's the pg or going to see my dying dad last week. Can't bear the thought of work tomorrow: I've got way too many patients and I need to process the payroll tomorrow at some point. I totally agree with whoever said they feel overwhelmed. It's been a difficult time for the business and it has got better since I started treating more patients: but now I don't feel I can cope with the increased workload.

Hey I am due in MAY 2010!! woohoo just found out last week. Puke puke! Smile smile!xx

sweetkitty · 27/09/2009 20:00

memorylapse - great news I'm 8+1 weeks today too so fingers and toes crossed my little bean looks the same as yours.

Forces - oh no your poor DD, is she on the mend now?

kaystar - not a good weekend then? At least it is over and done with

I am taking Sanatogen multivit, fish oil capsule and an extra calcium tablet, half the recommended daily dose as the multivit has some calcium and some from my diet, it's because I have been pregnant 5 times in 5 years takes a lot out of you.

Haribolicious · 27/09/2009 20:10

Hi everyone....just wanted to say that I'm lurking as this thread just grows and grows - it's hard to keep track! Hope everyone is ok....sorry to see that so many have had to leave

Forces - hope your DD is feeling better.

Memory - must have been amazing to see bean and even better to hear the heart!

I'm only taking folic acid...doc advised that there wasn't much need for the additional vitamins as long as you're eating a varied diet. not really eating much of anything at the mo but really can't face swallowing the horse pills either! Haven't had MS but the indigestion/heartburn is excrutiating! Absolutely no doubt that this baby will be born with a full head of hair but can't wait for the feeling to ease off. I'm having to sleep propped up at the mo, which helps....a bit!

pigleychez · 27/09/2009 20:25

Memory- Glad your scan went well

Charm- Isnt that heartbeat just amazing!

Headinawhirl- Try asking on the breastfeeding pages, you should get plenty of support there.

Den- Im not taking any tablets. I have huge trouble taking tablets after swallowing a 20p s a child. Think im mentally scared! Anyway im back on the Liquid Folic acid that my Dr prescribed me with DD.

Forces- Poor DD! Hope shes better soon, and at the Drs fobbing you off.
My prize was a pair of Polariod Sunglasses for all the family and a months supply of fruit pots. Hopefully they will intice me to eat more healthy snacks!

Kaystar- That sounds like an eventful weekend!!

Welcome MissFlutterby

Haribolicious- My DD was born with an immense amount of hair! It was the first thing everyone commented on. Even the midwife as she was born.. "blimey youve got a hairy one!" There was me imagining id given birth to a monkey! Anyway no Heartburn for me at all so not sure you can always follow that.

Had a nice weekend here... busy day saturday trying to finish the kitchen and today we saw an old friend. She is 89 and used to be old neighbour. She is soo sweet and we still see her regulary. She is moving miles away soon and who knows when/if we will see her again She went to the park to play with DD and then she treated us to dinner.
Told her about baby and she was thrilled. Shes like a surrogate nan to us She was commenting on how well i look and how well ive done to lose all my baby weight. DH just laughed and I pointed out my bump.. she was shocked but sooo pleased for us. Been really nice to see her and what a lovely sunny day too

ForcesSweetheart · 27/09/2009 20:40

Welcome flutter!

DD is on the mend now thanks, they gave her IV fluids and antibiotics while she was unable to eat and drink, but let her come home on oral antibiotics once she was keeping stuff down alright. She's still coughing and doesn't have much appetite but her temp is stable now.

According to mw's calculations I'm exactly 9 weeks today, hopefully get my scan soon - diabetic ante-natal clinic said it wouldn't be as late as 12 wks but still not heard anything.

Supplement-wise I take a load coz of my gastric bypass. I am taking a sanatogen prenatal omega 3 & multivit, 2 iron tablets (but my iron's till low), a chewable calcium supplement and 5mg of folic acid (which I believe is more than 10 times the usual recommeded dose in preg but it's what diabetic mothers are prescribed now).
