We've not gone to my friends as i feel really sick

Had upset time last night and feel really weak and wobbly. just tried to eat a satsuma but struggled to swallow it. Pizza hut has never affected me before but really feel rough

Milliemuffin · 17/11/2009 11:23

*upset tum!

GoldenSnitch · 17/11/2009 12:28

Oh no Millie, poor you!

The upset tum could just be a mixture of a squished up tummy and greasy food? I was told I should avoid things like that when I asked about my heartburn - but then I can never resist a pizza either and your night out with your DH was much needed I'm sure

Hope you're feeling better this afternoon.

sparklycheerymummy · 17/11/2009 13:42

I have just sat still for an hour till i had felt some good baby wriggles as i hadnt felt anything all morning!! Mind you have been busy.... cleaned the yard and weeded all the pits, moved things around, washed the bathroom blind, washed all the small outdoor toys and put them away for winter, put some washing in machine, put some in drier, done some ironing, tidied dds bedroom, been out for hot choc and bacon sandwich and washed up the breakfast pots and CURSED DP WHO IS NOT ANSWERING HIS PHONE .....GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! a

sparklycheerymummy · 17/11/2009 14:19

the pots that should say!

GoldenSnitch · 17/11/2009 16:56

Finally! I am measuring 1cm over - 35cms at 34 weeks so I genuinely am bigger than I should be! All those bitches Mums at Toddler group will be so pleased

Midwife checked Catherine's position, she's head down but not engaged at all and listened for her heart rate which kept disappearing as she wriggled. Had a good old moan about rubbish consultant appointments and condescending consultants too! Oh and picked up another huge bottle of Gaviscon as the heartburn has started already today Don't usually get it till bedtime. Need to call the hospital tomorrow to see if I'm having my Placenta scan brought forward to before CP.

Best bit was DS was well behaved and played with the toys nicely while I chatted to the midwife so that made things easier.

Hope everyone's having a good day and that Millie feels better...

Scorps · 17/11/2009 17:04

LOL at bitches

I'm so tired today, have walked literally miles. Yawn.

Maisie is engaged (2/5) but Mimi didn't engage until birth.

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 17/11/2009 18:49

Does anyone else get severe cramp in their groin, to the point where they have to crouch or kneel on the floor? It happens after I have been standing up too long, like washing up. I've tried googling it but can't find much, maybe it's just me?

Milliemuffin · 17/11/2009 19:02

Hi ladies, had upset tum again this aft but have just had some dinner followed by apple turnover and some of the xmas quality street and am feeling better already

legscrossed · 17/11/2009 21:48

fedup I've had lower cramps tween bump n left hip since early/mid pg and I've put it down to trapped gut/trapped wind. Which may sound like nothing but reduces me to my knees in tears (often in public without warning) and is only relieved by yogaing around on all fours.
Maybe that reasures.

Moosy · 17/11/2009 22:09

I've had a few pains under bump/groin but not cramps and not that bad. Today she's been wriggling round and I've had some sharp downwards pains which take my breath away.

Bump feels a bit lower again today, I keep bumping it into my legs when I go upstairs! Also the heartburn isn't as bad today so maybe she's on her way out

Mybox · 17/11/2009 22:18

FedupwithRDevon - I get nerve twinges in my left leg at the top due to nerve compression. Also have awful varicous veins in this leg.

Had a check up today & the heart beat too fast - 180 bpm. Had some monitoring & it seems to be when she's moving around so they said it was ok as it did go down to a normal range for some of the time. Will call and ask for some more monitoring to be sure everything is actually ok. Anyone else had this?

JeanLouiseFinch · 18/11/2009 11:18

Mybox- did you have the Redman test? I had that the other day to monitor movements. Her heart rate shot up when she was moving then went back to normal when she stopped. The seemed to think everything was fine but they did say to call for another monitoring appointment if I was concerned. Take care.

Claire236 · 18/11/2009 12:58

Mybox - I've been monitored loads of times (including this morning) & it's normal for heartbeat to go that high when baby's moving. Should be 140-150 normally but goes both up & down when baby moves about.

No signs of this one arriving. Ob told me this morning that you can have a show without the baby putting in an appearance until weeks later particularly when it's not the first baby. That was news to me, I thought a show meant baby was on his way. She also said his head isn't engaged so if my waters go I need to lay down & call an ambulance straight away as his cord could come first if the head isn't properly engaged. Never heard that before either but not sure if that might be a German caution thing as they are definitely more cautious over here. In the meantime I'm still having contractions along with random other pains so whilst I have no words of wisdom for anyone else suffering I certainly know how you feel.

BlueChampagne · 18/11/2009 13:23

I'm getting the leg thing too - feels like baby's sticking its elbows in the arteries! Generally not too severe, but has made me stagger once or twice. Otherwise all OK over here.

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 18/11/2009 13:52

Very excited today as had about 8 contractions, around 10 mins apart, this morning, while at toddler group. Some lovely friends made me go back to one of their houses for lunch so they could keep an eye on me, which suited me fine, and they have stopped now, but they were definitely proper almost full-on painful contractions. I was quite calm so am pleased with myself - this happened a few times last time but not so early. Maybe this one will be early and I can avoid the elective CS, that would be brilliant.

I forgot how weird it is that you can be in real agony one second then talk normally again straight away afterwards, it's pretty strange isn't it!

Catz · 18/11/2009 14:31

That's exciting Devon - hope things start to happen soon.

Can I ask whether anyone has bought any nice nursing bras yet? Last time I got some cheap M&S ones which were really depressing esp as I fed for 18 months (ditched the nursing bras a considerable time before that though...). Was thinking of getting at least one Hot Milk bra though they are quite expensive so I guess I will have to supplement with something else.

Hi all

Just adding myself back on. I have officially come to the end of my rope with this pregnancy.

All day heartburn? Tick.
SPD? Tick.
Crying for no reason? Tick
Exhausted? Tick.
Worrying about dd coping with ds? Tick.
Worrying about Christmas? Tick.
Hoping I go into labour early? Tick.
Not wanting to be in hospital on NYE? Tick.
Concerned about swine flu jab? Tick.

Still, I finish work on Friday, so that's one thing to be excited about.

Milliemuffin · 18/11/2009 15:06

Catz - I went to get measured (in mothercare) as my 34C bra's from when I had DS were uncomfortable only to be told I'm a 34DD so I ended up buying some nursing tshirt bras which are soooooooooo comfy!

Claire - I've not heard of either of those things before - good to know!

Pinkjenny - I can tick all those on the list apart from SPD but I'd change NYE to Xmas/NYE.

Fedup - Well done for staying calm! Hope I'm as calm when my contractions start!

DP is trying to convince me to go out for dinner with his work lot for their xmas do 16days before my EDD, an hour and a bit from home and staying in a hotel. They're a good bunch, all other halves are going and none of them are big drinkers. He's worried about baby putting in an appearance but I'm just worried about staying awake and I'll probably be quite big & uncomfortable by then! What do you think?? Would you go??

Pinkjenny · 18/11/2009 15:08

Nah. I'd stay at home on the couch and watch crap films and eat chocolate. I have told dh I don't wish to be seen in the month of December, and therefore will not be accompanying him.

He was relieved, I think.

Catz · 18/11/2009 15:20

Thanks Milliemuffin, will have a look for those - I got measured yesterday at Bravissimo and they said 32F but I'm never quite sure whether to use Bravissimo sizes when buying elsewhere.

On the Christmas party - I'm 16 days before my EDD today. I think at the moment I'd be fine going out for dinner/hotel (actually I'd be quite glad of doing something not baby related) but a few days ago I would have felt too grim to want to be dressed up and sociable late at night. I might be a bit nervous about the drive though my DD was a few days late and a couple of days in coming so I'd be less concerned than most. Is work paying? If so I might say yes but with the proviso that you can pull out if you don't feel up to it.

Scorps · 18/11/2009 15:53

Christmas party - I went out on my last EDD (but was ten minutes from home, and in bed at 10pm lol). Depends, you might not get good sleep in strange place, its a drive...I don't know!

DH wants to go out on the 12th (my 38 week date) and I really don't want him to. Last time he went out with that set of people, he came home very late (he gave me a time of 1130pm as a woman who has ideas on him had text him that day and knew he was out, home at 3am ) and spoke to that women (yes, a diff one!) he cheated on me with all the way home so i have very bad associations. Says he wont drink much at all (2 pints ish) and will be home at 1030pm, but still....I guess i feel hurt in anticipation iyswim.

Claire236 · 18/11/2009 16:07

Milliemuffin - glad it's not just me, was thinking I didn't know anything

Scorps - I think it's understandable you don't want him to go out but I think you might have to give him the benefit of the doubt in order to rebuilt the trust in your relationship. Not sure I'd be able to do that admittedly

I've only bought dead boring t-shirt bras both for maternity & nursing as that's what I wear most of the time anyway. If the breast feeding goes well I'll treat myself & dh to a few sets of hotmilk underwear when the time comes.

Pinkjenny - sorry you're feeling so rubbish.
