Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Milliemuffin · 03/11/2009 15:53

We dont know if its a boy or girl. I know I shouldn't worry but the way all my friends were in agreement about how small I am and my mum couldnt believe I've only put on a stone. Just cant help but compare myself to friends/relatives which I know is daft.

mediamama · 03/11/2009 16:23

Milliemuffin, I was in the same position.......my bump only really popped out at 30 / 31 weeks and I can still wear normal clothes so the world and his wife had an opinion on my pregnancy (isn't it funny how your body becomes public property when you are pregnant?!) I have only put on 6kg so did speak with my midwife -who commented on how flat my bump was but she said the baby was just curled into the back of me and not to worry.
I'm sure I'll just balloon in the last few weeks!
I saw friend this week who at 20 weeks has a prominent bump - people just carry differently, although she has a small frame so I guess it shows more.

Milliemuffin · 03/11/2009 16:35

I have a small frame too which is how the mother-in-law guessed I was pregnant at only 8 weeks as the slightest bit of weight really shows!

I'm off out for dinner for a friends hen night at 630 tonight, not sure wether to dose up on caffeine or not before I go!

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 03/11/2009 17:05

Have fun Millie - I wouldn't have too much caffeine if I was you because you'll be kicked in the ribs all evening! Enjoy yourself and don't worry.

By the way I have a small frame too and haven't put much weight on anywhere else except for bump which is now sticking out at a ridiculous angle, and is very good for balancing my cuppa on!

x

TheBlairSnitchProject · 03/11/2009 17:40

Tried to do some RL Christmas shopping today (as opposed to shopping online) Spent 2 hours in the shopping center and now feel like someone has kicked me in the privates!!

I'm so sore!

Got a few bits but need to go back as some things weren't in stock yet and I'm so not looking forward to that.

Center Parcs is going to kill me!!

Claire236 · 03/11/2009 18:52

I didn't get very big with ds1 & had growth scans because I was measuring small. This time round I haven't had my bump measured as it's not regarded as particularly reliable by my mw & can cause unecessary worry. This time round I'm still small everywhere else but my bump is much bigger, how I don't fall over I really don't know.

Snitch - you'll have to take advantage of the weightlessness in the pools & refuse to do anything else. Shamelessness milk the fact that you're heavily pregnant for all its worth & you'll have a great time.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 03/11/2009 19:09

Well, went for my final growth scan and baby is weighing in at about 5lb or so which is good. Feeling better about my weight loss now I know the baby is still growing fine.
Hope everyone is ok, and I feel your pain snitch!

Scorps · 03/11/2009 19:23

Used mothercare voucher today and saved soooooo much, thankyou very very much arrgghh

I wouldn't dwell on baby engagements; mimi never engaged til labour and my ds2 was engaged from 32 weeks and was only few days early. They pop in and out easily! I possibly think dd2 is engaged last few days as ball feelig feels familiar.

Love to all

TheBlairSnitchProject · 03/11/2009 19:33

Hopped in the bath with DS. The warm water has definitly helped with the soreness and also got me out of doing bedtime story which was good

Mybox · 03/11/2009 20:50

Will be enjoying being preg for the last few weeks as it's such a special time and despite the discomforts it's such a wonderful thing.

I'll be trying to get more rest and take things easier - that's the plan!Christmas is sorted and I will wrap the pressies up soon. Bags are packed for the birth and clothes & things ready. Will be co-sleeping & bf so not much needed.

charleymouse · 04/11/2009 12:44

Hi all, hope everyone is well.

I can't believe we haven't had an early yet.

Right homebirth booked in (against consultants advice). Hospital bag packed just in case; Christmas shopping sorted by DH and ToysRUs delivery collected last weekend.

Phew finish work next week and boy am I ready. Not sure how I am going to get everything finished but heyho.

Does anyone else have tertrible heartburn/indigestion at the minute. Mine feels terrible, this baby is doing somersaults and is making me feel quite queasy at times.

Claire236 · 04/11/2009 15:21

Had mw appt this morning & ds2 is now 3/5 engaged which I assume is why my heartburn has vanished the last few days. I'm actually getting to lay down to sleep at night, it's bliss.

charleymouse - I've had terrible heartburn which I'm currently getting what I assume to be a temporary break from. Have been living on revolting Gaviscon & tablets prescribed by dr for months.

I wonder when we'll get our first birth. Can't be long now. Thought it would be me for weeks but feeling much more relaxed now.

Moosy · 04/11/2009 16:05

I saw the MW today too and she's now 3/5 palpable, so 2/5 engaged. All of a sudden it's feeling rather imminent and I'm realising just how much I've got left to sort! I haven't even started Christmas shopping, haven't done the cards, there's a mountain of baby stuff at my aunt's house waiting to be collected, aaaaaaaaargh it's too much!

Moosy · 04/11/2009 16:07

I too am suffering from awful heartburn and also i have the joy of swollen ankles. apart from that all good. Only 5 days left at work...can't wait! My boss asked me today if i should be taking leave for my antenatal appts....i told him not!!!

sparklycheerymummy · 04/11/2009 18:03

Has anyone else had glucosein their urine.... i demolished a load of sweets this morning then went to the midwife who found some, after a blood test i now have to fast from 10pm tonight till 1o am tomorrow and hope it is just that i ate too many sweets not diabetes. also my bp is up but after problems with a friend and a stressful weekend with my brother and dps teenage son i think thats why!!!!

TheBlairSnitchProject · 04/11/2009 18:21

Have you seen this?

It may just be pregnancy hormones but I think it's adorable

Claire236 · 04/11/2009 18:22

I had trace protein in my urine today but no glucose. Hopefully you will be ok tomorrow.

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 04/11/2009 18:27

ooh I like it! x

TheBlairSnitchProject · 04/11/2009 18:41

I hope your test is OK tomorrow Sparkly.

Damn those left over Halloween sweets Eh!

Tillyscoutsmum · 04/11/2009 18:53

Hi everyone. Haven't posted for ages but just wanted to check in as we're into November. Can't believe there are no earlies yet

I am still MAHOOSIVE. I've been feeling like crap - SPD, heartburn, anaemia, lots of silly viruses that I just can't seem to get shot of and a very wriggly painful bump which seems to be breech atm

I've got a growth scan at the end of Nov to see how big he is and then they'll see whether they induce early

Still not very prepared - no bag packed, about 70% xmas pressies bought but nothing wrapped, baby's room still not decorated etc.

Mybox · 04/11/2009 20:06

Lee36 - sometimes forget I'm preg. Was asked "is it for soon?" at our local shop and had to think what could she mean then realised it was because I look huge!!!

anniebigpants · 04/11/2009 20:35

Sparkly i had trace glucose in my urine at my 31 week ante natal appt, mw asked if id had any sweets in the hours leading up to when id did urine sample, i confessed id eaten a bar of chocolate , she said she would check next appt and if still there send me for GTT at hospital. When i went for my 34 week appt, i made sure i kept off the sweeties prior to doing my wee sample, and that one was fine

Im finishing work one week earlier than originally planned, as finding it bit of a struggle due to long commute and long hours, so my last day at work is tomorrow, yippee
Bump seems to have dropped in past few days, i can breathe easier and not getting as much heartburn, downside is i feel like im sitting on babys head when i sit down, and im getting some quite bad period type pains.

Re our due date list-i can tidy list up on Friday if no-one minds, i,ll just take off anyone who hasnt posted in last 2 months say, and if they want to be added back on its no probs, unless anybody else feels they want to do it, feel free

TheBlairSnitchProject · 04/11/2009 21:37

Maybe take off anyone who hasn't posted since the thread moved on the 24th September?

Maybe they've lost us?
