OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
sparklycheerymummy · 16/10/2009 14:06

ha ha..... never mind raspberry dishwater..... i fancy a half a guiness

Catz · 16/10/2009 14:12

I didn't know you could get special oil for it. My NCT teacher last time just said you could use any vegetable oil (well maybe not one infused with chilli...!) there was some reason why I chose almond last time but have forgotten what it was!

I got the tea bags from Holland & Barrett, haven't tried one yet but they look like they are flavoured with some other stuff too so more like a fruit tea. Last time I got a bag of plain raspberry leaves which is a bit grim but much cheaper. You can get capsules too if you want to try it but hate the taste.

Catz · 16/10/2009 14:12

Arghh - don't worry didn't think it was!

TheBlairSnitchProject · 16/10/2009 14:14

I don't do tea so I had the capsules last time instead. Plus loads of fresh pineapple and had an oil burner with some oils which were supposed to help too...

Was still induced at 6 days late

I'd kill for some Baileys!

sparklycheerymummy · 16/10/2009 14:20

i had half a guiness last night with a drop of blackcurrant and loved it but do not drink much normally. i am sure one small baileys wouldnt hurt and i havent bothered till now but just fancied it. i work with a little girl who has foetal alcohol syndrome so i am a bit neurotic. did think we were still allowed 2 units a week but have just read current guidelines mean none at all!!!

sparklycheerymummy · 16/10/2009 14:24

SORRY just looking on ebay and have found knitted breasts for midwives..... how funny!!

TheBlairSnitchProject · 16/10/2009 14:32

I'm working on the theory that it's better to be safe than sorry so I've been having none at all. Not long now...

sparklycheerymummy · 16/10/2009 14:38

yeh i know ..... i just fancied a little taste but maybe should stick to raspberry tea!!!!! WEnt away last weekend and there was a mix up with our hotel booking and they offered us a free bottle of wine.... then the woman next to the guy who was dealing with us nudged him and commented on the size of my tummy so we got a tray of sandwiches (posh and delicate with no crusts) and delicious cakes instead!!!!

TheBlairSnitchProject · 16/10/2009 14:50

Oh, I'm sure a bit of Guiness won't hurt. Our mothers were told to drink it after all!

I'm just saving my 'taste' for when I'm desperate

TheBlairSnitchProject · 16/10/2009 14:58

Ha Ha ha - ELC and Mothercare have just e-mailed me 20% off vouchers!!!

Typical!

sparklycheerymummy · 16/10/2009 14:59

yes but i am off work today with my dd...... should have been my last day. and i cant decide if the aches i am getting are tummy sicky pains as my dd has had sickness and runs..... or whether its summat else. keep getting a bit constipated too???!!! Now i am thinking is this my punishment for enjoying a guiness??!! it has a bad effect on my dp but thats generally if he has several pints of it!!!!!

TheBlairSnitchProject · 16/10/2009 15:05

Guiness is meant to be high in iron? Maybe it's hd the same affect as my iron tablets have on me

sparklycheerymummy · 16/10/2009 15:09

maybe..... felt a bit like period pains so got on all fours and shifted baby a bit. will keep an eye on it. will see how i go??!!!

TheBlairSnitchProject · 16/10/2009 17:20

Are you feeling better now sparkly?

Look, there's halloween emoticons now

Mybox · 16/10/2009 21:16

Will bf - I'm still bf at the moment. The best advice I had when I had dd1 was to get as much of the areola into the babys mouth as possible to prevent soreness. Also to bf as the first thing that you try - if your baby is crying - try bf, if it's just awake try bf. Has worked for me. Plus can bf whilst doing other things.

Anyhow the thing I could do with help on is managing on very little sleep!! I don't sleep well now as get up 2+ times for the loo, might have heartburn, my legs hurt (varicous vein problems), wake up to turn over, wake up feeling hungry... I'm in training for the 24 lifestyle of a newborn lol

sparklycheerymummy · 16/10/2009 21:54

not sure if feeling better or not.... no more real tummy cramps but it is gurgling lots.... think i have the bug my dd has. typical when dp is working late!!!! my braxton hicks are really getting regular now though and quite uncomfy!!!

TheBlairSnitchProject · 16/10/2009 22:06

Oh no sparkly Hope you feel better soon

sparklycheerymummy · 16/10/2009 22:09

cant believe i have waited till i finish work for maternity leave to be ill!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrr

pussycatmomma · 16/10/2009 22:52

hi everyone, blummin heck this is a very busy thread to catch up on!!
Would love a 20% off mothercare voucher if there are any left? Still have my cot mattress to buy plus some bedding, my email is [email protected], if you want to contact me for address, thank you in advance if there are any left.
Having read all the waist measurements, just measured mine, 40inch at 34 weeks .
EEEEEEEK! methinks that is very big, but apparently according to my friends I am not as big as when pregnant last time. But feeling very lardy, especially on my legs and bum - which is vast at present!! I did weightwatchers after having my ds and got to my goal weight with the help of bf , so I am really keeping my fingers crossed I will be able to do it again! (breast feed obviously, but hopefully lose all the weight too!) I havent had the heart to weigh myself during my pregnancy, i think i would just feel too disheartened. And lets face it, there are not many pleasures left when you are this big, so Ben and Jerrys really does become a vice!
Anyone else suffering with the veins in their legs?? mine are horrendous, mw says varicose veins. Also have ugly patches of so called "spider veins" on the back of my calves, which look like purple spirograph doodles!!
Added to that my (excuse me) entire fanjo area feels like it is a whole lot lower than it rightly should be, and also feels like it is bursting at the seams.
oh god what a glamourous life i am living!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

LaDiDaDi · 16/10/2009 23:08

Lol pussycatmomma!

I also have thread veins popping out all over and I too think that my fanjo area is lower than normal. Dp has been off sex from around 20weeks so no one's able to corroborate for me!

I took dd for a walk today and saw a sign for slimming world at the uni sports pavillion over the road. May come in handy in the New Year!

flowertot · 17/10/2009 11:50

Added flowertot and 1mum1. Welcome

You didn't say how many DC's you had 1mum1 but if you want to add details, all you have to do is copy the list then paste it into a new message and make your chnages.

Or just leave a message and someone will do it for you.

We're a lovely lot here

Hope you're both having easy pregnancies and are feeling good.

LaDiDaDi · 18/10/2009 14:33

Welcome to the new members, hope everyone is well. I'm really tired this afternoon even though I had a lovely lie in.
