Congratulations bigbang and sos - wonderful news. Hope things are going ok Stealth and sending contracting/dilation vibes your way.

Am now 3 days over with no signs of anything happening. I went to Ikea today to see if I could smoke baby out (thought it might be a good venue for a comedy waters breaking moment) but alas that didn't work. Got DH on the job last night, have eaten yet another pineapple and just been for a madras - I don't think it is coming out

Am really quite of all your lovely LOs, feel like it is never going to happen!!

If baby wasn't quite so wriggly tonight would be a bit if there is a baby there

Sorry for the whinge

Hello all - quickly checking in to report the arrival of my little guy late on Tuesday 15/9.

I was 40w5d, and the PEP convinced the antenatal unit to induce me. Had the prostin gel and that was all it took to get things going -- 10 hours and 1 epidural later, I was all done, and went home 13 hours after that. He's nursing v well and is very mellow and agreeable...so far. DD is delighted with him...also 'so far'!

Congrats to all who've also welcomed their babies - looking forward to catching up!

Logged on this morning to find out the latest on stealth - keeping fingers crossed that next update will be "see you on the pn thread"!

Congratulations cherrylips, bigbang and trixieb!! [sob][blub] I've just been sat here with tears rolling down my cheeks

Good luck for next week, labella. Sorry that you're on your own so much, but I've been having loads of cheese on toast recently. And I had beans on toast for dinner the other day when DP was working late and really enjoyed it. I might change my name to Nigella, or Delia

My EDD is next Tuesday, and seeing the lovely obstetrician on Thursday. No idea what to do with myself next week - am I allowed out of the house on my own still??

Thanks for asking - the PEP is definitely fading, but I'm on oral and topical steroids which I'm sure are helping things along. Hate having that stuff in my milk but needs must. Have stopped the antihistamines today to see if that makes DS less sleepy.

Any news, Stealth?

There is something so much more maddening about being overdue than there is about being almost due. The symptom-spotting is all-consuming, the aches and pains magnified...everyone still waiting has my utmost sympathy.

more congratulations to Stealth and Trixie.
So excited and pleased for you.

I am now 40 + 6 and there is no sign. Managed to get DH to agree to some mercy sex last night, but no joy there. The clary sage oil is on, and I'm thinking pineapple for lunch.

Good afternoon!!!

Congrats to SOS, Cherrylips, Bigbang,Trixie and Stealth

Birth Announcement Lucy Alexandria born at 00.14 19th Sept weighing 7lbs 15oz.

Went up for a bath at 8pm as usual and had a bizarre sense of pressure down below so thought that bath might help ease it. Had another 10mins later and then had about an hour of them being 9/10mins apart. Decided to get out of the bath to see what effect that had on them and it made them drop to 5mins apart lasting 1min30secs. Decided to text sister to come and sit with the other 2 (they were asleep).

Got to hospital at 9.45pm and they were coming every 4/5mins. Examined at 10.20pm and was told i was 4-5cm after a very rough exam the contractions dropped again to 2/3mins apart. By 11pm they were 1/2 mins apart and on top of each other.

Lucy was born at 00.14 without any pain relief at all

Needed a few stitches but much more comfortable than the ones i had with ds!

We were discharged at 4am and by the time we got home it was 04.45.

Very strange to be home so soon and dont really feel like i have had a baby.

WOW - congratulations everyone!!!! There can't be many more of us left now surely?

Am loving the names and will admit to crying a little every time another birth is announced...not sure why, but I'm hormonal for some reason

Well, I'm now 40+4 and am not even convinced I'm pregnant anymore. My first was 2 days early, so not sure why this little monkey is determined to stay put?! Must be male....

Made DH work his magic last night (which was amusing as he was sure his 'stuff' would do the trick) - lo and behold, morning comes and NO BABY!! Grrr - I must be making it too comfortable for baby inside, so have spent the morning thoroughly scrubbing the house (not nesting, just trying anything to get this baby out!) and am now having back pains, but think that's more to do with my now ridiculous knockers than contractions

Am hoping everyone's getting on well with their new ones and that the rest of us won't be waiting too much longer

Wow congratulations April I hope I can get discharged that fast when I have my little one! I hate being in hospital.

I have been frantically tidying up and trying to get straight this morning. Am going to have a break now but will be back at it with a vengeance when we get back from MIL's later. I am not nesting either just trying to get things moving. My little one seems happy in there too and as I was induced last time am worried that I am heading that way again! I have come to the conclusion that dd only being 7 days late was a fluke as she was back to back and I had a long labour with her. Where as with ds it was very quick and straight forward once they got me going lol.

It's hard to keep up now!

Congratulations bigbang, trixieb, Stealth and Aprilmeadow!

Well, I'm due tomorrow but I don't think the little one is getting any closer to engaging. But 5 days late seems to be the average right now, so I won't get too impatient until Thursday (trying to anyway).

There are still enough of us (and another 11 days of September) left for another thread - what shall we call it??

Sep 2009 - overdue and desperate to go?

I like your suggestion, Thusnelda - go for it.
