Suspect I may sit here on my own for a few days, as found out pretty early that I'm now 3+4, due 3rd Feb 06.

I'll introduce myself anyway!

Age 31, DH 39. Live North Herts. Ttc #1 for just over 4 years, including 1 missed m/c last October.

Ecstatic to be pregnant again , but also nervous because of m/c history.

Sorry 3k - forgot to say welcome to you too! Glad to see you over here - wondered where you'd got to after announcing your bfp the other week!

I had a really down day yesterday - no symptoms at all and was convinced that I wasn't still pregnant. Dh was really sweet and supportive and this morning I have woken up feeling sick so I feel much better!! I must be insane wanting to feel rubbish but it is so reassuring. I am going to go to the docs nest week to ask for an early scan. After my m/c the EPU said my GP could refer me whenever - I didn't bother last time but I feel much more nervous this time.

popmum · 15/06/2005 09:38

Re - earlier comments about giving birth on your due date - with my first she was born on her due date - which never changed after any scans etc - apparently only 4% of babies are born on due date. But then as everyone said at the time, I am a very organised project manager and simply delivered latest project on time (my husband said it wasn't to budget though.....)!

teuch · 15/06/2005 10:00

morning all - great to see so many new 'faces'! makes it all more real by the day

I've had sh!te weekend and week so far but all horrible work stuff that is boring and irrelevant to what really matters. Just worried that the stress is impacting on me and my baby...

RachelRog...last pg I was totally const. but this time I have been the opposite...I tend to get IBS type symptoms when stressed so this might have something to do with it. I will ask the mw when I visit tomorrow for 2nd HcG test.

3k · 15/06/2005 10:57

Tabs - I waited a few weeks before coming over to the Feb 06 thread as I was scared something was going to go wrong. I kept getting (and still getting) period cramps and twinges in my sides and was terrified something was going to happen but the scan on Monday made me feel a bit better. Still frightened but feeling a little bit more confident now.

MrsDoolittle · 15/06/2005 11:23

So how many have we got now?

My period is officially late today. Since last August when they restarted after dd was born they have always arrived 13,14,15. No sign. I am also grateful not to be experiencing any symptoms as yet either. I was very nauseous with dd. Although, I was very healthy, I didn't enjoy my pregnancy last time.

LibbyandBensMummy · 15/06/2005 12:07

MrsDoolittle · 15/06/2005 12:18

Gosh - I wish I was losing weight

LibbyandBensMummy · 15/06/2005 12:23

yes but not sure whether it is a good thing or not with my other two pregnancys i lost a stone at the beginning of them and then put on two and half stone so will see this time can not remember if had this dodgy stomach with the other two. xxx

YeahBut · 15/06/2005 13:23

Definitely not losing weight! Tummy is rounded already due to fact that after 2 pregnancies and 1 c-section, I have no stomach muscles to speak of.

Miranda, are you OK?

TicTac · 15/06/2005 13:28

Hi LibbyandBensMummy,

I have had peculiar movements too. I am normally a bit funny in the old bowel department and take digestion enzymes and aloe vera tablets to help. But with the preg I have stopped taking them...my movements are so frequent.
I am putting it all down to the changing body and hormone fluctuations. I have gained and lost 5lb since preg but I am not doing anything differently... all very weird.
I have not been preg before so I was assuming it could have come with the territory.
I am 6+5.
I hope you feel better soon.
x

For those of you with 'bowel issues', can I just ask if you are eating broccoli and/or drinking coffee (or other caffeine containing drinks)?

I was pretty sure that I had had IBS for years, and then I read in a friend's You Are What You Eat book that broccoli is really bad for it. I stopped eating this and gave up caffeinated coffee at the same time, and have been loads better since.

I was quite amazed that something like broccoli could be bad for you like this - I used to eat loads of it and thought it was really healthy!

teuch · 15/06/2005 15:22

tabs - you are a fountain of all knowledge! I've cut out the caffiene (bout 3 months now...) and can't remember the last time I ate a piece of brocolli .

I guess we all react to different triggers - I have been trying to be healthy but hectic week and need for comfort food has meant more chinese & chips than steamed chicken and veg ...no surprise my body is shouting out to be treated like a temple (or at least the side of a house )

kando · 15/06/2005 15:36

Hello ladies! I am being a really bad mummy these days - my two dds have been amusing themselves (and doing a great job of it too, I hasten to add!) whilst I have been lounging on the sofa completely wiped out. I don't remember ever being this tired with dd1 or dd2, although I do remember feeling tired. Just to show how "can't be bothered" I feel, dd1 has just clomped past me out into the (damp-grassed) garden in my new pale-blue suede psandals. Normally, much protestation would be forthcoming from my direction, but today ...!

Hope all is OK with you today, Miranda5. Take care.

kyliefan · 15/06/2005 17:57

Evening all, hope everyone is coping

know how you feel about not having any symptoms (apart from the bloated tum.) I don't even feel tired let alone anything else. I will certainly feel better when I feel something different - my boobs aren't even tender! I am 4+4, is it because it is too early

ScotsBird · 15/06/2005 18:32

Hello can I join you please?? I think i am about 5 weeks pregnant (but hideously irregular periods so not really sure). Fell pregnant this time really quickly (within first month of trying - big shock!). Got a dd of 21 months already. No symptoms at all, apart from mild twingey pains which i had last time too. Good to meet you all and hope your pregnancies are stress-free! I have a feeling that later on when I am huge and fat and have 2-yr old tearing about I will fondly remember my first pregnancy - lounging around pampering myself!!

womba1 · 15/06/2005 18:33

Good evening mummies and a huge hello to all the new recruits. Hope everyone is doing well?
I'm feeling great today... even my previously sore mubs aren't causing me too much discomfort!
We finally signed on to a Doctor's surgery today so i'm feeling a little more relaxed about things. The community midwife rang me this afternoon to make a booking appointment and it isn't until the 14th July. I thought it would have been sooner but she said unless i had any concerns in the meantime, the middle of July is fine. She was really nice too! We briefly chatted about me and i pointed out that i'm a little on the heavy side... ok.....ok.... very on the heavy side!! She laughed and said join the club and who wants to look like a stick insect anyway! Also, when she found out that i'd had an emergency c/section last time, she said that it was totally my decision if i wanted an elective this time round. I haven't really thought that far ahead but it's so refreshing to know that should i decide thats what i want, i won't have to fight for it! Isn't amazing how a little 10 minute conversation can make you feel so happy and positive?!
How are things with you today Miranda5? Hope you're doing good.

teuch · 16/06/2005 09:30

morning - just calling in to say that my 1st HcG came back and were quite high (over 85,000) so the midwife thought that was a good sign. As long as the 2nd test is about double then I can relax a little bit...then I think I might get that private scan anyway!

popmum · 16/06/2005 12:44

afternoon all - have my drs appt on monday - though not much will happen i know! was quite shocked to get it so quickly as uusally you have to wait ages to see a specific dr. Am feeling a bit sick most of time and a bit dizzy sometimes

TicTac · 16/06/2005 13:15

Afternoon ladies,
My oh my, talk about taking care over what you wish for. Those of you who have read my previous postings will know I was bothered about not feeling sick, wondering if this was a bad sign..well for the last couple of days I have felt sick most of the time...yeuck.
Lots of you appear to have had your midwife calls already but I have not heard anything yet.. I guess I will soon enough

Tabs · 16/06/2005 13:30

Welcome Scotsbird .

Oh TicTac - how exciting! I have to admit to having felt sick when I got up this morning too, but it was much earlier than I normally rise, so not sure yet if it is a sign of ms to come or not!

Teuch - have no ideas what numbers should be, but great! When will you get result of second test?

Well I've now booked my early scan for a week on Monday, when I will be 8+3 (1 day further on than last baby died). Can't wait now, but still want some symptoms in the meantime!

Miranda - think we're all getting concerned for you now - please let us know if you're ok!

Its so nice to see that everyone's full of wonderings and that it isn't just the mildly nuerotic like me! Is anyone completely shattered?! I feel wiped out, is that reasonable? I'm sure dh just thinks i'm a lazy old boot!

Some people seem to have spoken to midwives etc. Will GP let them know to find me or should I be more on the ball? I don't remember from DS1 and don't want to hassle them as some of them made me feel nuerotic last time.... this time I hope to be calm cool and collected ( FAT chance! literally!)I'd appreciate your thoughts..

Tabs · 16/06/2005 16:28

Hi Kassie - isn't mild neurosis a pre-requisite to getting pregnant .

TBH I think it varies so much from one GP to the next what the midwife process is that it's probably best to ring your surgery and ask the receptionist. I saw my GP to tell him at 3+4, and he told me to make an appointment with the midwife for 3 days later(she's in the surgery 1 day per week). Think my mw got a shock seeing me as early as 4 weeks .

Forgot to say, yes I am pretty knackered. I'm only working occasional days at the moment (lucky me!), so I find I struggle to get out of bed before 9, and then have no energy for at the least the whole morning. Had to get up at 7 to come to work today, so was a bit of a to the system!
