Suspect I may sit here on my own for a few days, as found out pretty early that I'm now 3+4, due 3rd Feb 06.

I'll introduce myself anyway!

Age 31, DH 39. Live North Herts. Ttc #1 for just over 4 years, including 1 missed m/c last October.

Ecstatic to be pregnant again , but also nervous because of m/c history.

I don't belong on this thread (well I hope not seen as I only gave birth 4 weeks ago ) but I can't believe there is a due in Feb06 thread already !!! I wish you all the best and I hope all your pregnancies go well and that it's not to long till you are enjoying your babies.Put your feet up and relax.

Hi all...trying to post regular so you don't forget me.

With my first p/g (ds 5) my m/s started the day after I had a positive test result.....my last p/g when I had a missed m/c the m/s started a few weeks later. Really wishing for some p/g symptoms at minute as all I have is a bit of a heavy, bloated tummy. Hopefully will get some p/g symptoms soon!! I just feel so pessimistic....so fed up as loved being p/g with ds and it is all ruined now.

Really want nothing to go wrong this time.......keep checking my knickers all the time even though I did not bleed last time!!!!

Really fed up!

marite · 13/06/2005 20:09

Hi there Girls, Congrats to Popmum and Kassie.

Popmum - we have the same due date although I am slightly confused as we worked out that we are 6 weeks today...(that would be the royal we of DH and me!)...I guess it must be down to differences in cycle lengths?

Symptoms: tummy aches Saturday (and the teeniest pink discharge - no horror stories please!)and this evening but other than that I'm just really tired...although that could be something to do with trying to keep up the DINKY social life while workin 13 hour days....?

Chin up Girls only 6-7 weeks till we can all chill out with more confidence!

Wishing you all a good nights sleep with either the symptoms or the relief you long for!

Tabs · 13/06/2005 20:20

Evening all - well I definitely fall into the no symptoms and paranoid category at the moment - even my sore nipples have disappeared - just a bit of tiredness left.

Marite - I don't think that you can be 6 weeks today with an EDD of 12th Feb. I'm 6 weeks 3 days, and due 3rd Feb, so you'd be 9 days behind me, making you 5 weeks and 1 day. Differences in cycle lengths wouldn't affect this if you have the same due date. Is it poss that you've worked out the due date incorrectly?

OP posts:
marite · 13/06/2005 20:37

nope I don't think so...I used the table in the book, two websites and the doctor....fairly conclusive..

Maybe Im just counting the weeks wrong...I counted the week after the first day of my LMP as week 1?

hotmama1 · 13/06/2005 20:42

Good evening girls! Looking at the ages thread yesterday I reckon I'm the oldest on here at the moment at 38 and will be nearly 39 when ds/dd2 is born (obviously assuming everything is O.K. etc)

Be careful what you wish for! I wasn't getting any symptoms and I had sore boobs etc with dd. I now am feeling absolutely knackered and am having waves of nausea especially in the evening - like I did with dd. Suppose I should be glad as it shows that my hormones are working but it's no fun feeling crap and looking after an 8 month old.

We didn't tell many people last time as we didn't want to tempt fate but this time I have been telling people as a way of fate working in my favour IYSWIM. Told my antenatal friends last Friday and they think it's great and got all nostalgic about pregnancy notes etc - I haven't quite forgotten all about my birth experience but that is another thread!

Hope you are all blooming - here's wishing lots of babyglue. XX

Tabs · 13/06/2005 20:59

That does sound pretty conclusive Marite!!

Not sure exactly what you mean by counting that week as week 1. The first day of your LMP would be day 1, and then you just count up from there. What date was LMP?

OP posts:
hotmama1 · 13/06/2005 21:06

I think you get different results from different tables. My last AF started on 24th April and I worked my due date out as 29th Jan - but both my doc and midwife have given me 1st Feb - so I think I am 7 weeks plus 1 day? Like any of us are going to give birth on our due dates.

marite · 13/06/2005 21:24

I'm fairly realistic about the due date, just want to keep track at the right place. The first day of my last AF was 9th May.

How does that work out to you?

hotmama1 · 13/06/2005 21:33

Marite - Just put in the 9th May on the BBC Pregnancy Calendar and gives 13th Feb - does this sound about right? This will be based on a standard 28 day cycle - so obviously this is a guess.

The date will probably change when you have scans anyway - I think mine was brought 2 days forward with dd - and she was eventually 9 days late - so don't worry about precision.

marite · 13/06/2005 21:35

Yeah thats what I had but the doctor said 12th and it sounded nicer and since there is a 4 week timeframe I might even upgrade to valentines day! . It was which week I am in that I was confused about...the babycentre.co.uk said Week 5 last week...

sorry to take over the thread by the way and thanks for your help!

marite · 13/06/2005 21:37

Just checked the Baby centre definitely says I am in week 6....?

(yes to the 28day cycle by the way!)

spacecadet · 13/06/2005 21:39

lol at you with a lamp and your preg tests miranda! rachel, i too have that sinking feeling that this preg will end like the last one.

Tabs · 13/06/2005 23:34

Hi Marite - sorry, went out after posting my last message. You are in week 6 once you reach 5 weeks pregnant (as 5 weeks means you've already been pregnant for 5 weeks), so that would be right - you are 5 weeks and 1 day pregnant and in week 6 of your pregnancy. Does that make sense ok?

OP posts:
Miranda5 · 14/06/2005 09:04

Girls,

Had a tiny bit of spoting yesterday so tiny that it was (TMI) only when i put tissue inside ( sorry!) that it was a bit of pink streaked mucus. Anyway its enough for me to lose all confidece and now feel this pg is doomed like the last one.
DH went into an instant depression and said we had to be positive (!) did ANOTHER test and it was SOOO strong but had that with missed m/c in november ( still had a posiive test two eeks after m/c) Its so bloody stressful...........

hotmama1 · 14/06/2005 09:04

Just realised this means that I am in my 8th week (although I am only just over 7) nearer to the magic 12!

First time ever, I woke up this morning feeling absolutely rank and sicky but luckily haven't been sick. Luckily, dd (8 months) didn't wake up until after 8 a.m. so I had time to have a cup of lemon and ginger tea -gooood stuff!

Hope all you girls are doing O.K and have a fab day - looks like it's going to be a sunny one.

Tabs · 14/06/2005 09:14

Miranda - try not to panic and assume the worst, as bleeding often doesn't signify anything bad. It would be too early for a scan to show you anything useful, but how about you see your doc and ask him to do a couple of hcg blood tests this week to check that the levels are still doubling, as they wouldn't do this if the worst had happened?

OP posts:
hotmama1 · 14/06/2005 09:21

Miranda - don't fear the worst It is really common to have some bleeding happened to both a really good friend and my sis. I think you only have to worry if the bleeding becomes heavy and get stomach cramping etc. TBH nothing that we say will put your mind at rest so ring your midwife for advice. Hope everything turns out O.K.

marite · 14/06/2005 10:11

Tabs and Hotmama1 - it all makes sense now! It became clear this morning in the shower as things do! So I can still go with the poppyseed heartbeat visualisation then!

Thanks for your patience.

Miranda5...hope everything turns out okay...I had similar streakyness (very light pink mucus) last week and nothing much has changed since then...also I read that it would be brown if it were something bad but every book says something different...My Mum had light periods for the first three months of her first PG so Im not too worried yet as I am a genetic copy of my mum!!...but sounds like the midwife or the doctor will be the only ones to reassure you...?

RachelRog · 14/06/2005 13:10

Afternoon all....I have a question......when I was p/g last time I was prone to diarhoea and I seem to be like it again this time.

Is anyone else like that?

I had read that constipation can be an early sign of p/g so it worries me that I am the opposite.......what do you think??

3k · 14/06/2005 13:19

Hi all and congratulations to everyone on the Feb 06 link.

I am due on 2nd Feb after IVF. Had a 6 week scan yesterday and saw a little blob with a heartbeat and instantly fell in love!! It was a great feeling after trying for so long. I'm 27, DH is 28 and this will be our first baby. Got to have another scan on Fri 24th as baby very close to wall of sack and couldnt be measured. We were told we might not see a heartbeat but did although it took a lot of eye straining but they just want to check all is ok next week and measure etc. Then we should be discharged from Kings College in London and back to my local mw which I have a booking in app on 27th.

Symptons - sometimes sore boobs but just very tired, occassional feeling sick but not enough to feel really rough. Like most it would be a good sign to know all the hormones are working ok. I am nervous something will go wrong but do feel better seeing bubba on scan yesterday. Also starting to show which I thought was strange as only 6 + 5. Jeans very uncomfortable already!! I'm normally a size 12 - 14. Anyone else getting a podge?

babylily · 14/06/2005 15:54

Wow - we're growing in numbers by the day.
big congrats and welcomes to everyone who has joined lately.
Miranda - hope everything works out okay - have you seen your doctor/ or EPU? I had quite a scary bleeding experience at 9wks with my dd, (which followed an early m/c with first pg at 5 wks) - but it came to nothing - I have a very energetic 2 year old to show for that, so try not to despair.

I'm 5 + 5 now and finding that by 3pm I'm absolutely exhausted. Not good when I leave work at 4 and collect my very lively toddler who is fond of a good dance when she gets home!
Can't remember being this tired last time, but then symptoms are completely different.
nightnight I'll just put my head down on the desk for ten minutes.......

kyliefan · 14/06/2005 17:39

Hi everyone

Found out on Friday that I am wonderfully pregnant!!! It was my 5th month of trying and I am due on Feb 19th or there abouts. I was introduced to mumsnet by a friend who swears by it and am so chuffed to have found it. I was always the one at school who asked the most stupid questions so no doubt I will have lots so if you want a good laugh you'll probably get it here! No seriously really pleased to kind of meet you guys

kyliefan · 14/06/2005 17:51

About early showing

I am 4 and a half weeks and my jeans are fine when I am standing up but are now really uncomfy when I sit down. I am also really bloated so look (well probably just feel) like I am showing. I read that your digestion slows right down cos of high levels of progesterone causing your bowel to get much bigger and that you are more likely to retain water hence the big tum. I am a size 14 to 16 proper pear and had to buy a size 18 skirt for work as it is way to early for maternity clothes but it was the only thing I could find to skim over my tum. Am mortified. Wouldn't it be good if we could go from flat stomach to proper baby bump with no annoying in between!

Tabs · 14/06/2005 21:13

Welcome Kyliefan and congratulations.

I'd be ecstatic to be going from a flat stomach to start with - don't think I've ever had one of those!!
