Suspect I may sit here on my own for a few days, as found out pretty early that I'm now 3+4, due 3rd Feb 06.

I'll introduce myself anyway!

Age 31, DH 39. Live North Herts. Ttc #1 for just over 4 years, including 1 missed m/c last October.

Ecstatic to be pregnant again , but also nervous because of m/c history.

blimey there is a rush in all of a sudden! this thread is growing fast.

hotmama1 · 09/06/2005 16:56

Oh sorry - forgot to congratulate and welcome Mrsdolittle and LibbyandBensmummy and anyone else I have forgotten

Tabs · 09/06/2005 17:04

Afternoon ladies - had a busy couple of days but finally have time to sit down with a cup of tea and talk to you all!

Firstly, a big welcome to LibbyandBensMummy and Mrs Doolittle. I'd thought I'd got my BFP exceptionally early - but less than 3 weeks - wow!

Teuch - I'm so glad that you asked that last question. Although DH is away a lot at the mo, some nights I've felt so horny , but have worried about sorting myself out just in case it would do any damage. Sounds like I'll be able to relax and enjoy myself next time (although I still reckon I'll be nervous and make it an infrequent thing!).

Kando - my midwife says that it's fine to wear underwired bras all the way through pregnancy, as long as they fit well and aren't tight. With an H cup size normally I was getting worried about finding non-underwired ones at all, which is why I asked so early on!

Miranda - I really feel for you sweetie, but try to stay optimistic. Not sure if you saw my response to you on Tuesday (seems a long way down the thread now!), but I'm also virtually symptomless 6 weeks in, following a mmc in Oct. I've been offered an early scan which I could have as early as next Friday if I want (when I'll just be 7 weeks). Have you been offered the same?

As for me, I phoned the hospital this morning to see if I'm really meant to have the appointment that they sent me, but they said that I do, as they'll do stuff like book my bed for the delivery (?!?!?) and take bloods and scan too. Bit disappointed as this means that my 12 week scan will be at 11+3, when I'd been hoping to have it at more like 13 weeks, but ho hum, can't be helped I suppose. More of a prob is that DH isn't likely to be able to come with me on a Tues, as he'll be abroad. Is everyone else taking their DH's with them?

Oh, and to answer Kando's question, my ickle one is affectionately known as Chip - a subtle play on our surname.

Sorry - turned into a bit of an essay - that'll teach me for staying away so long!

Teuch!
Orgasm whilst sleeping or walking for the bus????

I am pretty free spirited but have experienced neither...have never seen anyone on the street double up in the throes.... tell me more!

I want to not do it until twelve weeks due to previous m/c but just know it wont happen...sex when pregnant is something else but I am soo scared!

spacecadet · 09/06/2005 18:41

now, now there'll be none of that talk on here, this is a nice sedate thread, we are layyydddeeees!

TicTac · 09/06/2005 18:49

Hi Ladies,
I have just about caught up with the days happenings...seems like all us 6 weekers are getting a bit worried about not having many/ any symptoms yet. I had a wobbly about that yesterday but then today I had to come home from work because I could not keep my eyes open and I have had terrible acid feedback for 2 days. Bring on the morning sickness...oh and boobs are well sore!! My nickname is the same as my "bump" DH and I called it tic tac as I bought a huge box of them in Cannes and we figured "bump" was about the same size as a TicTac....

Bye for now...

JuA · 09/06/2005 20:00

Miranda - I know what you mean about lack of symptoms - I sometimes wish I felt worse. I didn't have many symptoms when I had my miscarriage and I felt much worse when I was pregnant with dd. I know it can be different everytime and it doesn't really mean anything but feeling more sick etc would just be a bit reassuring.
We don't have a nick name yet - I am sure we will come up with something soon!

Miranda5 · 09/06/2005 20:14

Jua do you have symptoms yet? I reckon I am due around 12the feb although my dates say 10th but I have a long cycle... boobs big but not sick or tired yet! Want to be flat out and wretchworthy!

JuA · 09/06/2005 20:27

I have felt a bit sick - but not much. My boobs are a bit bigger but not sore at all and I have been tired although that might be because dd hasn't been well and is really restless at night and keeps disturbing me!!

marite · 09/06/2005 23:35

Hello Ladies, I'm feeling a bit shy but didn't want my DH to accuse me of lurking!(what exactly does the D stand for??? and what about all the other acronyms...did I miss the class at school or something? ). The requisite info: Age - 30, DH - just a little bit less than 30! Live North Hants. Due 12 Feb. We were dinkys until monday when the test said "Pregnant"...what a shock...mind you the sore boobs and nausea should have given it away and it's not as if we weren't TTC (I worked that one out!!). Good luck everyone, its nice to be able to chat about it! Is everyone else keeping hush about it? p.s. just posted to the thread about "life before birth" the Channel 4 programme that was on earlier in the year...there is an americanised version on National Georaphic on Friday 10th June at 9 - 11pm.

marite · 09/06/2005 23:38

p.p.s just found the acronym list...Phew!

Tabs · 10/06/2005 09:46

Welcome Marite and congratulations!

I've seen both life before birth and in the womb, and I have to say that itw wasn't americanised at all! It's virtually the same documentary - same pictures and everything, but with the very annoying poetry cut out, and less pictures of a woman's stomach or the woman swimming - all in all much better than lbb, and I highly recommend watching it!

We're not doing a terribly good job of keeping hush about it. So many people ended up knowing about our m/c last year and the fact that we were trying again that it seemed mean not to tell them we'd been successful!

Sorry about lowering the tone earlier but a girl gotta ask! By the way Miranda5, I said not walking for the bus!!

Terrible day at work...don't know if that is what is making me so nauseous or if it is ms. Also, have developed some kind of radar nipples (sorry laydeez!) which throb at the slightest touch...

I have an eventful week next week, I turn 28 and I get my HcG levels done, and a million work meetings...need a quiet weekend methinks!

Hope you all have a happy, sunny weekend xx

RachelRog · 10/06/2005 15:46

You too teuch.....take it easy!

marite · 10/06/2005 17:21

Evening Folks, Could someone tell me if it is okay to have tummy pains? Someone mentioned phantom period pains earlier on and my doctor said it was normal (in a glib kind of way) but its not in either of my books and I can't seem to find anything about it on the interweb! I'd call it twinges rather than pains really but its making me nervous. They come and go with no real pattern or regularity. Hope everyone else is having a good day.

YeahBut · 10/06/2005 17:34

Marie, when your uterus starts to stretch and grow at first, you can get these crampy, achy sensations. Its perfectly normal. HTH

marite · 10/06/2005 19:55

Thanks YeahBut, that is good to hear. I just found another thread on the same subject with lots of good advice so I feel better now.

DH and I felt a bit daft reading up about it before we got PG but I wish we had now I feel really unprepared but this website is really helping.

Ta

ixel · 10/06/2005 20:04

Hi marite (and everyone else)! I have the worst cramps ever, and did last time round too. I couldn't find any reference to it, until I picked up Vicky Lovine's book on pregnancy, read a whole section on how normal it is, and bought the book based on that alone! Not that its making me feel any better about it again, as I see it as equally a sign that I'm not really pregnant, despite 4 positive tests! I had cramps for the whole of my last pregnancy (which the midwife told me was usually a sign of labour/micarriage when I mentioned it at my booking in appointment... not very helpful).
Am a bit jealous that you all seem to have huge boobs already
Had my first rude awakening today when we decided to stop off at the shops, and ds wanted to be carried... have got twinges now, and its such early days. I dont want him to be in the buggy too much, but he's just a bit too little to walk for a whole outing, like if we go to the zoo or something. Any ideas??

marite · 10/06/2005 20:32

not that I am obsessing or anything (honest) but I read about the embryo burrowing it's way into the uterus and somehow it all makes sense now...I know that isn't logical since it's teeny but it's stopped me worrying...for now!

I'm afraid I had huge breasts before pregnancy...you are welcome to some of them if it helps? Im vauely concerned that they won't make maternity bra's big enough - I'm already a H (gosh so much info and we have only just virtually met!)

ixel · 10/06/2005 21:25

My advice is... take a photo of them when they get huge, before the belly catches up! I wish I'd done that the first time round. I dont think a picture would look so attractive this time, having never got back into shape or lost the excess 1 1/2 stone!
As for the pains, they ended up being a bit of a comfort in some ways last time: any symptom became better than none, even if it was a bit ambiguous. I'd forgotten how crap it is waiting for the 12 week scan to prove there's something in there.
