right best go spend some time with DH and DC's- have neglected them all afternoon- having been shopping then sitting on here choosing coats!!

i'll be back tomorrow- oh wow- i'm still VERY excited about my dress!!!!! It looked ace on- even if i do say myself- tho my sisters said you could tell i'd lost a bit of weight in it- very impressed!! and got another week before i wear it- so may have even lost a bit more off my waist!!

Anyway- I AM off!! tata!!

Diege · 24/08/2009 16:49

Hi GLASK don't lose too much weight before next week or it might be too big .
Love the coats too, esp bomber jacket and dd2's xmas coat - you have great taste!
I'm also planning a coat splurge when I get paid tomorrow. Always like to get coats and shoes sorted first. Older dds are making do with last year's boden duffles, but are getting new coats for school, and dd3 is getting a new one for days out of nursery. Have bought ds a teddy bear snowsuit type thing from boden, and he also has a teddy jacket that I bought when I found out I was having a boy! (I have a thing about ears on coats for babies )

bodenaddict · 24/08/2009 17:37

Kayzr · 24/08/2009 18:33

Glask you have done well. I usually hate Debenhams. Apart from their really expensive dresses I tend to feel like I am shopping in an over 60s shop.

glaskham · 24/08/2009 19:40

Oh i Lurve debenhams!! I love their baby and kids clohting!! Buy a lot from there for the DC's!!

Not really somewhere i normally buy for myself though. Not for want of trying though.

Am also on a hunt for a suit for DH on friday!! so it's 5 coats and a suit on the shopping list!!

Kayzr · 24/08/2009 19:59

I'm having really bad seperation problems with DS2. He does not want to be put down at all. Usually he is happy to roll around the floor and pulling himself up at the sofa. But these last few days he just wants to be held. Thats not a problem when we are both here and have nothing to do. But like now when I am trying to do dinner and DH is at work, it is a real struggle.

essenceofSES · 24/08/2009 20:05

Hi Kay! That's really hard when you've stuff to do and they won't be put down. Do you have a sling or carrier?
Well done on getting through your first day back at work. Was your DH at home to look after the DSs?

I've never looked at Debenhams baby stuff... must do

Kayzr · 24/08/2009 20:09

I do have a sling but he is so bloody heavy!! Though I think I might have to start using it soon.

DH was at home with the boys, I got in at 10 past 2 and he left at half 2 for work. But it is only like that 2 days of the week so not too bad.

glaskham · 24/08/2009 20:19

Oh kay- its not nice when they're like that is it?... dont know what to suggest really... but hope he settles for you soon.

Speaking of slings- does anyone who's PG want a sling? I have one for sale- its my ring sling- I used it with Ruby but have since started using a fleece one which she prefers now she's getting older. Wouldn't have been without the other one in those early days though. Give me a shout if anyone is interested. If not i'll put it on ebay.

kookykid · 24/08/2009 20:35

Glask - I'm with you on the Debenhams front! I generally wait for the sales though, as I'm always after a bargain. The dress is gorgeous BTW. I have just ordered a whole load of sale stuff for next summer for DD from Vertbaudet, which I also love!

Kayz - sorry to hear about DS2. How're the feet now??

SES - open air cinema sounds fab - Dirty Dancing still has to be one of my all time favourite films, hope DS appreciated it! Good luck with the speech writing too.

I can now officially say, I'm due next week!! aaargh!

idreamofbeanie · 24/08/2009 20:55

Hey Glask - well done on the dress, it's gorgeous and such a bargain! I might be interested in the sling - is it the one you had in York? She looked very comfortable in it. I have been given a babasling but I know quite a few people who just haven't got on with it. Let me know how much you want for it.

Kay - sorry DS is being clingy but congrats on getting through your first day back at work.

Hooray Kookie - how exciting !

BA - no idea on colours, I'm really boring and stick to one colour with black. Lime green sounds good though.

Hi Diege, Star, Ses,.......

I'm stuck working late after my boss had a bit of a panic about getting something done and it absolutely had to be today - not worth explaining but def an overreaction to a minor problem that could have waited. She offered to stay and help but she just makes it take twice as long and twice as stressful so here on my own. God, I can't wait to finish!

Another girl from NCT had her baby last night - she developed pre-eclampsia so was induced at 36+5. Baby and mum are fine (thankfully) and hoping to be home soon. Seems like we have a class of very impatient mums and babies, they are all coming early!

Kayzr · 24/08/2009 20:57

IDOB, I was going to ask you a question. You won't mind if I buy you and baby a pressie do you? Seen something lovely and would like to get you it.

essenceofSES · 24/08/2009 21:09

IDOB - wow! 2 babies already in your group! I'm not v impressed with you being at work at this time but I'll leave you be as I'm sure you're looking after yourself aren't you??!

Kooky - yay for next week!!

DS is asleep on me so think I may as well go to bed. DH is away in Scotland with work so it's just me and O at home.

G'night!

Kayzr · 24/08/2009 21:16

Night Ses!

DS2 is currently playing with DH so no crying.

Kayzr · 25/08/2009 06:46

Morning!!

DS2 slept from 10 til half 6!! It's the first time in a week he hasn't woken at 3. Now we just need to get him to go to bed at 7 with DS1.

Work again today at 10, yay(not)

Hope you are all ok!

glaskham · 25/08/2009 09:01

Morning everyone- IDOB- have text you about the sling.

I've been busy trying to find somewhere to buy DH a suit for the christening- feel bad he's not got a new outfit- and have seen a stunning designer suit... but he doesn't want me to spend that much, so he looked on burtons and likes a grey one on there... i much prefer the designer one- and can afford it at a (very tighy) squeeze.... but with getting our last euro's and needing to sort the kids school coats and shoes out too, along with my trip to York, and a trip to Alton Towers... we'd not be able to do anything all month- but he'd have the best ever suit!!

What does everyone think?

glaskham · 25/08/2009 09:09

this is very similar to the suit its a little lighter in colour than that though- its in a shop in blackpool.... and is £259 on sale!! and there are some nice hugo boss shoes too which are £59... and then would need a shirt and tie...

however- DH (who has much cheaper taste than me) likes this suit from burtons, comes with free shoes and free shirt and tie.... all for £99..... this would be the more sensible option- but as he wears suits often for managers meetings and all special occasions he'd get a fair bit of wear from either one, and he never really treats himself- or should i say lets me treat him!!

Diege · 25/08/2009 09:22

Morning! Hmm difficult decision GLASK. TBH I'd probably go for the cheaper option, just because it's dh and I have to say I don't get much gratification from what dh wears . Having said that, if the cheaper suit looked rubbish on, then probably consider the second option. What does your dh think?
Mega stressed here, as wages have messed up my maternity pay. I should be on full pay for 16 weeks but they have reduced it and I've only been on mat pay since 15th June!!! Hopefully hear back soon from HR!
Glad your night was good KAYZ,and hope your second day back is better!

glaskham · 25/08/2009 09:29

Diege- hope you hear back from them asap- there's nothing worse than problems with money- especially with 4 DC's!!

As for the suit- every time we go past the shop with the designer suit i always say 'i so want that for you' and he always agree's that he likes it and that 'if we had the money i'd buy it'.... well we kinda have the money and an occasion to buy it for. DH wont have chance to try it on until the day before- i have got to buy the suit on friday so he'll try it friday evening- and if there's any problems i'd have to go out on saturday and try and sort it!! He has other suits from burtons which all fit nicely so he thinks thats the best bet as he knows how it will fit and feel... he's quite a textbook shape when it comes to suits though so i do think the designer one will fit just as good... but he's said he would rather try it on before spending so much... but i heart the hugo boss one- and he'd look super sexy in it too!! haha!!

bodenaddict · 25/08/2009 09:33

morning

all this shopping talk

off to park

glaskham · 25/08/2009 09:42

haha- currently giving you a run for your money eh tink!! haha!!

Pinafores arrived yesterday- DH didn't give me the parcel till nearly 10pm though!! silly thing just put em down and forgot about them!! Thanks- they fit a treat!!

i've become a shoppaholic of late again.... it's getting to xmas time so i'm starting all my xmas shopping (hence the coats i linked to yesterday) and also getting sorted for my nephew's christening on sunday, which is what i've been buying for myself for, and also what i'm getting the suit for Dh for... and on top of that i need to do holiday shopping for myself and Dh in the next few weeks- have seen a few outfits i like- from primark of all places- i want new things for my hols- but think i'd rather spend £50 and it not matter if they get ruined than spend more to want to be sure they're still in great condition to wear when i get home.

essenceofSES · 25/08/2009 10:16

Morning!

Glask - I can understand your dilemma... On the one hand if your DH is quite happy with the cheaper one and it looks good, that would make most sense. However, if the other is one that you've been looking longingly at and you do have a special occassion, I'd be v tempted.

We have my godmother bcoming over today with my mum and we're going for a pub lunch I haven't seen her in about a year and so she hasn't met O yet. I think she'll love him

glaskham · 25/08/2009 10:26

I do think i'll end up going with the cheaper one.... but i will no doubt wish we'd gone for the other one when we see its sold out!!

If nothing else though it gives me more spending money for xmas presents for the DC's!! haha!!

Diege · 25/08/2009 10:34

Silver linings and all that GLASK...having said that, if it makes dh look super sexy...
Morning SES! Lunch sounds good
Hi TINKS, all gearing up here too to give you a run for you money
Still waiting for wages woman to get back to me . Of course if they'd overpaid it would have been sorted there and then.

glaskham · 25/08/2009 11:19

Diege- i love DH in a suit any day of the week- but the hugo boss is very 'him'... i think i'd prefer the more expencive one TBH, but he'd prob be happier in the cheaper one... he's not too hung up on brand names- though he does like to look good- if that makes any sense. he'd love to wear designer every day, but he'd rather save the money and not do.

Argh i'm so torn!! I mean i know he'll look good in either suit, and he'd be dead chuffed if i bought him the more expencive one- however- up until last night the plan was just to get his pinstripe suit dry cleaned and wear that, maybe just buying a new black shirt and a silk red tie... i think he could do with some new smart shoes too... so by time i've bought him shoes, shirt and tie i may aswell by him the £99 suit and he'd be pleased to be wearing all new!!
