Had no time at all this week to catch up, but done a brief skim and still not really time to catch up now.
Lightning - sorry to hear about house. Something better will come along.
Diege - yay for J sleeping through (will try not to be too jealous).
Kayz - hope first day back at work is better than you expect.
IDOB - yay for mat leave being close, so exciting!!!
Glask - sorry for poor sleep. DD was similar to that last week - just wide awake in middle of night for a few hours - is debilitating. Had similar kind of words with DH as you have. Resulted in a row last Sunday night. She did settle again for a few days last week, but ended up just in bed with her all night last night - at least she wasn't wide awake, but was feeding so regularly. Has been same again today. Am pretty sure I'm going to start baby rice tomorrow. She was going 3.5-4 hours between feeds, but last two days it's changed to more like max 2.5 hours (poss 3 hours if I'm really lucky), so either she's sickening for the cold DS seems to have picked up, or she just needs more food. She is now 23 weeks and has been exclusively bf all way through. Is holding head up, can sit up for about a minute on her own, is manoeuvring (sp?) all over the place on her tummy and putting everything in her mouth, so think she is ready and will take it really cautiously.
Had DC's christening today - think that's why they were both disturbed all night last night - they could sense something was going on. Poor DS has been really unsettled this evening too, so DH might end up with him in bed with him and I'll go in DD's room tonight. Ah well, shall just have a week at home this week, clearing the house and washing (now washing machine is fixed), getting DD back to nice good naps during day (last week she was good at those - lets just hope it wasn't the cot at Mum's ) and getting DS some rest before he starts nursery - 3 weeks to go - he is sooo excited!!

Hi to GYo, Gruff, Ses, Sorky, Moos, Bumps.
Wishing everyone good nights sleep! I'm off to bed now.

Morning,

I'm at work at 10. I am dreading it, I said to DS1 that I was going to work and he cried and cried.

IDOB, I'm going back 3 days a week, Mon-Wed. Deffo still up for a meet!

I am also annoyed for DH. On the 5th we're going to Alton Towers on the 5th for my best friends 21st. But he has been put into work. Plus he is only meant to work Thursday morning because of my driving lessons but in 2 weeks he is in in the evening.

Hope everyone is well.

bodenaddict · 24/08/2009 09:06

Diege · 24/08/2009 09:29

Morning! Hope things will be OK KAYZ - at least you have the end of the week to look forward to!
Love the new name TINKS Good luck with smear!
STAR, how did the Christening go? Good luck with weaning, hopefully will signal truning of a corner and dd will settle better at night.
Gloomy weather here, but hopefully will clear up later as have promised dds a trip out to the 'big park' this afternoon. Really feels like summer is over with weather and school term looming...maybe we'll be surprised by an Indian summer??!!!

glaskham · 24/08/2009 09:52

Morning

Star- sounds like you've had a tough time of it lately with DD's sleep!! DD2 was much better last night... was a bit unsettled but eventually settled with just her dummy and not an extra feed!!

Diege- its looking a bit gloomy here and i'd romised the DC's we'd go for a walk at stannah, the local nature reserve. Planned to take the dog and take the DC's scooters.

Kayz- its bad when the DC's can understand what you're saying but dont like it isn't it... you'll feel so good getting home from work today though!!

DS is being a little pain in the arse since he got home from my mum's yesterday!!

And...... drumroll please..... as of last night i've now loast half a stone in a week!!!!! Wuhoo!!! Am treating myself to a new dress this weekend for my nephews christening. I'm godmother so need to look fab at the font... and stupidly the dress i bought to wear back in april (which is absolutely stunning) woesn't accomadate breastfeeding DD.... didn't even cross my mind when i bought it!! and now dont have time to order online. So going to check out debenhams on friday- and if all else fails will see if i can get one from next, and after all that if i really must i do have a dress, but have worn it before for a family occasion and would really like a new one!!

bumpsnowjustplump · 24/08/2009 09:56

Morning all hope you are all well. Sorry I havent got time to catch up with everyone but hope you are all doing ok...

DS is still up all night with his teeth grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... apart from that we are all fine and doing well...

glaskham · 24/08/2009 10:02

OMG- have just looked at debenhams online and have found the prefect dress - and its reduced from £85 to only £10!! And some red shoes to match which are only £15!!!! But i dont get paid till friday!!!! Hope my local store still has them in stock when i go on friday!!

Diege · 24/08/2009 10:40

Glad things seem better LB, though grrr about disrupted night. You know I don;t think I've had more than a dozen totally disruption free nights since dd1 was born - tis always one or the other (3). Still, you (sadly) get used to it I suppose!
GLASK, how annoying about online dress and payday ; fingers crossed it will be at your local on Friday. Congrats again on your weight loss, that's fab I've managed 3ibs, weighing myself this morning, so will mark that down in my book. I have a long way to go, but am happy with weight loss so far.

Diege · 24/08/2009 10:41

Ooh I love the dress GLASK!!!

glaskham · 24/08/2009 10:48

Yay- my sister was going into town today anyway and is gonna buy it for me if they have them in stock- and i can just give her the money back on sunday as she was saving the money for drinks at the christening anyway!! Wuhoo!! am all excited now- i mean even if i can only get the dress i have some really nice black shoes i can wear with it. But fingers crossed i can get both!! off shopping now, might be on again later, but not sure- DH was making noises this morning about me being on here while he was washing the pots (not that i dont do it every other day of the week- but hey)...

essenceofSES · 24/08/2009 11:25

Morning!

Glask - had a look at that dress. What a bargain! Hope your sister is successful

Kay - hope your shift flies by. I have to confess though I'm dreading the thought of going back to work. Currently ignoring all thoughts...

O and I went to open air cinema in the park last night with my cousin. It was lovely. We took along a picnic and sat and ate it before the film (which was Dirty Dancing ) There was another baby not far from us - a lovely little girl who was 7 months old but about the same size as O (bless!)

We're finally back to normal here - first day back to just me and O since 11th August after all our visitors! Seems v quiet but must spend the day doing washing and cleaning.

Also must write that speech for my friend's wedding - it's on Friday!!!

Morning Diege, tink, Star, Bumps and anyone else around!

Diege · 24/08/2009 11:39

Hi SES! Great that you have some (relative) peace at last Open air cinema sounds good, though I am of course forbidden by Queen Gina from those sorts of outings
Great on dress GLASK, it is meant to be! Lol at dishes and dh - he'll be getting to 'come and have a look' at them next telling you this is how they're 'meant' to be done Can you tell how things go in the diege household??
Right, need to list my baba sling and dream genie pillow on e-bay, neither of which I got on with!

Kayzr · 24/08/2009 14:38

Well work was alright. It has not changed at all. A few new members of staff and that was all.

My feet bloody ache though.

glaskham · 24/08/2009 15:02

well went shopping and they didn't have the shoes i'd seen, and the dress was actually a bright pink colour, not the red that it looks on the website.... however i spent £45 in total and got myself these shoes, this dress, and got matching earrings and neclace!! The dress was only £10 in store, and looks amazing on!! it comes with a black belt which i'm wearing instead of the red!! Makes me look very slim too!! and fit like a glove!!

bodenaddict · 24/08/2009 15:05

good shopping glas

any more colour ideas ladies to go with dark bloue dress with lilac spots?

glaskham · 24/08/2009 15:08

i'd have to say lime green would be really nice!!

Diege · 24/08/2009 15:14

Wow Glask that's a real bargain. I actually prefer it to the original too as it has more of a timeless look about it

KAYZ, really pleased work wasn;t too bad - quite a short day too - is that typical, or do they vary how long you're at work for?

Had a letter through today summarising consultant chat about my labour, and he mentioned something called a bandl's ring that was seen in my uterus during the section, which confirmed that I was having an obstructed labour. Have posted on labour thread, but wondered if anyone had heard if this?
TINKS, lime green I said woman, lime green!!!

Moosy · 24/08/2009 15:25

Diege, I just googled it for you and I think this explains it perfectly!

glaskham · 24/08/2009 16:03

yeah- the dress is perfect!! couldn't believe my luck- its at my mums house so can't try it on and show you pics- but the christening is next sunday so i'll get pics on asap after then!! The one i'd seen online looked really cheap too!! I'd have never paid the £85 original price for it!!

Diege · 24/08/2009 16:25

Thanks MOOS!! Think your link defines it up perfectly and makes sense in light of how labour progressed . Feel pleased that at least it wasn't me 'pushing wrong' like the midwife implied .
Yes GLASK, we await piccies!!

glaskham · 24/08/2009 16:26
