Whoever suggested Bravado nursing bras on the other thread - they definitely have my vote, although I have the 'orginal' ones rather than the seamless (must be a sign of my age). They are fab for sleeping in and are very forgiving for your changing shape. Not exactly sexy though

Hi everyone. Please excuse spellings etc am trying to get the hang of an iphone and struging a bit! So excited for you Christiana. Please get dh to post news tomorrow. We will all be dying to find out how you and little one are!! xx

Phoenix · 17/06/2009 18:58

Good luck for tomorrow Christiana, try and get your dh to post the announcement. I'm sure we'll all be hanging here for news of our 1st July baby

Darlingo - Welcome to the thread. Have you got a due date and i'll add you to the list

I got a parcel from my BIL and SIL in America this morning full of outfits for the baby and ds. The baby stuff is so cute. They have bought a lovely little dungaree outfit that they have asked us to bring him home from hospital in

I also got an 'I'm the big brother' t-shirt and 'I'm the little brother' t-shirt that i ordered from Ebay the other day

Oh and my Take That tickets came too

justlookatthatbooty · 17/06/2009 19:01

Don't forget to add me to the list!!! (Jumps up and down waving hands!) My due date is 26 July, am expecting a girl, already have a DS who is 16 months. Am already starting to feel impatient and that 26 July is ages away, which it isn't at all.

Love the Bravado bras but they give very little support, very comfy at night though. Does anyone have a high support recommendation?

Thanks!

moodylou · 17/06/2009 19:10

Good luck for tomorrow Christiana.

Hopefully some of us will be joining you soon in meeting our LOs.

Bras - I've bought two that were on sale in Mothercare for now to see me through until my milk has come in and then i'll go buy some nice ones once i know for definite how big i'll be. Might treat myself to one from Hot Milk

Mij · 17/06/2009 19:11

Actually, I have a Bravado too (support not really an issue for me ) that I had to get a few weeks ago because my Royce ones were all post-pg, so I didn't have the right rib-girth/knocker size combo after about 7 months. I got one in red so I could convince myself it was at least funky if not sexy . It's certainly the most comfy for pg - will have to see about feeding in it.

hormones took DD to see a ballet yesterday for her birthday, and both me and DP found ourselves trying to hold back a flood of tears as we watched her face change from astonishment to mesmerised to a massive smile when it all started. Don't know what DPs excuse was... She burst into tears at the end when we said it was all over. If she's developing a theatre habit this young we'd better start another piggy bank .

Gillyan · 17/06/2009 19:45

Good luck christiana will be thinking of you all day! Hope it goes well for oyu, I'm so excited. xx

hello everyone, will post tomorrow when Ihopefully will have news from the consultant xx

Patchybob · 17/06/2009 19:50

Christina wey hey, how exciting! Enjoy your last night tonight without a screaming baby. When you are ready I want all the details, nothing is tmi! You are leading the way for us c sectioners!!! Oh I am so jealous!

I have been roped into helping at a sex education class at my dc school tomorrow Apparently I have to tell them that labour doesn't hurt and let them all feel my bump! Deep joy! Some of the year 5 and 6 boys are taller than me and quite mature iykwim, not sure I want to be fondled too much by them!!! I hope that the class will be lead by the teacher and I can just sit quietly in the corner!!! AArgh!

Will let you know how it goes!!! xx

mumofshortie73 · 17/06/2009 20:19

Christiana I am in the Upper Tweed Valley, I had it in my mind you were in Edinburgh, though I s'pose St John's in Livi does cover North West of the city too, that's where I had my DD !!

Thanks for the link to the bigger bra sizes, that's really kind of you, considering your mind must be elsewhere at the moment.

ilikeyoursleeves · 17/06/2009 20:30

Best of luck Christiana for tomorrow, how exciting that we will have our first baby! But TBH I am so surprised that we've not had any new arrivals yet!

SwineFlu OMG a colleague of mines wife has just been diagnosed with it . He was in work this morning with a sore throat and starting to get 'flu like symptoms' so was swiftly sent home but he knew his wife might have it (was just waiting on test results), so why the feck did he come in!? I work in the NHS too and we have been having all these protocols about what to do re swine flu and the main one was to stay away from others. So he has been in and touched all the doors and used the phone etc, he'd better not have infected me!

Bras I'd recommend not buying any until your milk comes in. I bought some mothercare ones last time I was PG and after the birth I was measured by a proper maternity bra lady who said that buying bras before you give birth is a total waste of time as you will have no idea how your boobs will change. eg I went from a 36B to 36DD overnight! I actually didn't wear bras much after but rather these which you can wear without a bra as they are pretty supportive. I also went through a ton of nursing pads so I'd be interested in finding out what the good washable ones are.

Perineal massage is anyone doing this? I don't want to tear again so I'm thinking about doing this but it all seems a bit daunting and time consuming but hey if it stops me tearing again then fab.

GrowthScan I had one yesterday at 34+4, and the consultant has recommended that I have another natural birth as this baby is just above the 50% percentile re size. It's good news I guess but I'm starting to feel worried about pushing one out that's bigger than my DS was (he is already bigger OMG as DS was only 5lb10oz at birth).

RLT tablets- when do we start these?! Anyone else taking them?

Hope everyone is well and good luck for all those about to met their little baby / babies!

mickeylou · 17/06/2009 20:49

Lol patchy. Surely sex education would be more effective if you tell them labour hurts like hell!

JetLi · 17/06/2009 20:50

Good luck christiana! xx

bozette · 17/06/2009 21:16

Good luck christiana! You sound quite chilled out, hope you have a lovely quiet evening tonight.

2 more days at work... can't wait as am being much abused and taken advantage of. Occy health recommendations being completely ignored and money being saved. Grrrrrrr

QueenFee · 17/06/2009 23:10

christiana so excited for you. Enjoy your last night without bubs x

nursing pads would def recommend the Avent washable ones. I have used them for my last 2 they are really comfy/absorbant and have lace on the out side which serves 2 purposes 1. they dont slip around so much and 2. that you know which way round they go in the dark.

sex ed Our school does a lovely versoin of this after the baby is born. I get to go in with the baby and talk to a load of 5 year olds about birth and new babies at an appropriate level should be fun.

bras I have to say that I have been measured by bravissimo (big norks) loads over the last 6 years and they have never let me down yet. I am looking for a cheap sleep bra if anyone sees one on their travels but at a 32f they are somewhat difficult to find

Am really pleased tonight as DH has finally booked some hols. He has filled in his paternity leave form and taken a day a week throughout the school holidays which should be good. (he rarely gets round to booking hols so this is great!)

QueenFee · 17/06/2009 23:18

Oh and meant to say adding a bump pic to my profile I took today

xxhunnyxx · 17/06/2009 23:23

Good luck for tomorrow christiana...I can't wait to see your LO. Sooooo exciting

I feel like my bump has really shrunk over the past day or 2, I feel & look about 7 months pregnant at the mo. Suppose it's just cos baby has moved down but it did get me questioning his growth but prob just bein paranoid.
Also he keeps pushin his bum in the air and his head in to my fanjo - really quite hurts!

rubyriley · 17/06/2009 23:32

Christiana Can I add my voice to the chorus of good luck for tomorrow, let us know how it all goes, how gorgeous your LO is and wishing you a speedy recovery!!

likeyoursleeves I thought perineal massage might be a good idea til I realised that you do it from the inside(!) putting veg oil on your fingers and stretching it til it tingles. That kinda put me off Did think that with the best will in the world, not gonna stretch it anything like a baby's head.....? And had also read that the best possible way to avoid a tear is to deliver the head as slowly as possible. Did know a friend who did the massage thing and did not tear with either of hers and she was 7stone ringing wet so it probably does work, at least to some extent, doesn't it.

bras I only know what not to buy I bought a couple of Mothercare ones which though a 38D, had to check label when tried on as could've sworn they were a 32AA or maybe I'm MUCH bigger than I thought......

Welcome to all the newbies and love and best wishes for safe delivery of all our June, July babies xxxx

soozze · 18/06/2009 00:04

Good luck tomorrow Christiana I don?t know how I?d manage to sleep but hope you manage to get some before 7:45!

Ilike I?m taking the raspberry leaf tea tablets, started around 32 weeks. I?m not doing the perineal massage though, maybe I should as I?m terrified of tearing. It just seems so difficult, even if dp is keen to ?help?.

Queenfee I?ve also given up with the nappies for now. Figured probably best to wait until after the baby arrives and ds has definately decided he's not interested in wearing pants

I can't wait to hear about all the little ones arriving, only hours until the first one now !!

Activity - very of your bump. you are so neat!

i wonder how Christiana is and whether she has her baby by now?!

i have a mw app this afternoon. going to take DS and see what he makes of hearing the hear beat!

Phoenix · 18/06/2009 09:54

Activity - I haven't got to the Take That concert yet, it's still a week on Sunday (28th) when i'll be 37+2. If baby Noah stays put i'll be going though

I've given up on my maternity jeans now too, they're just so uncomfortable. I'm living in combats, 3/4 combats or 3/4 linen trousers (white ones, not the best colour with a 3yr old boy ) Even the combats come off in favour of trackie bottoms as soon as i'm in the house

Hospital this afternoon again for me. Not really sure what for as i was only there last week . If i see the consultant i'm going to find out more about how they are planning on inducing me and exactly when as last week they just said around 38wks.

Hope Christiana is doing ok and maybe already have her LO
