swine flu That's a bugger, and how stupid to come into work. My MIL lives in a badly hit area but didn't have any known contact, but I still read up on it before she visited and it is a little scary, the added risks for pg women.
Bonzo DD loves Tatty Ratty, although hasn't been on the circuit for a while - she tends to obsess about books and read them on repeat for a bit and then they get shelved/taken back to the library before we rediscover them a few months later.
We've got a home birth book called Hello Baby for DD - we read it straight out of the Amazon parcel, which was a mistake - had DP and I in tears and having to stop a couple of times to gather ourselves while reading it to DD. Would highly recommend it to others planning a home birth though - DD again wanted to read it on repeat and it's prompted lots of useful questions (and some extremely odd ones!) to help DD process the whole thing.
lastbox I work in theatre but have been a bit reticent about taking her to see stuff before she could really appreciate it or it would scare her shitless! She saw the crazy 'man dancing with a digger' outdoor show last year and loved it, so was looking around ever since for something short enough to keep her attention. It was Angelina Ballerina, but I figured as the ENB were doing it at least the production values wouldn't upset me and DP too much! And actually it was great - just the right length for a LO. I used to dance (almost turned pro but got injured/was too much of a lummux to make it ), still do actually, and haven't pushed it on DD but she just is a dancer, think we'll find a class for her come September. As she seems as drawn to hip-hop as ballet, it's a bit of a struggle to find something that isn't all good-toes-naughty-toes and fairy wings though...
heartburn I find bread makes it worse, particularly white bread. Also necking the Gaviscon, and find chewy Rennies good for out and about, and that a bit of protein (cheese for me, as I'm veggie) is better than carbs for calming it.
