Wow, congrats Christiana, wonderful to hear it all went well. No rush with the name, took us 3wks to name dd2

moodylou · 19/06/2009 09:44

Congratulations on your baby girl Christiana (and Mr Christiana), glad to hear the birth went well for you

Sorry to hear that it wasn't so good after though. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you have a speedy recovery x x

chellebelle · 19/06/2009 09:48

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Christiana!!!!

Wow! This is really is it then, our thread have started popping!!! It's going to be fun watching the names move from one section to the other on the list. Am expecting to be one of the last as have been late with all of the other three and am not due til 22nd but will be great hearing everyone else's birth stories!

We're having naming issues ourselves at the moment, we liked Jessica from the start but a friend of ours got realy arsey cause her little girl (6 months old) is called Jessica and she thinks there is some unwritten aw that you never call your child the same name as a close friend. So we went off and found a different name - Alysia. However, they are now leaving church and we rarely see them outside of church and they're moving out of the area too. So now need to wait and see how much we see them/ speak to them over the next few weeks and if it's fairly infrequent we might revert back. Decisions, decisions...

chellebelle · 19/06/2009 09:49

*should be unwritten law not aw!

BonzoDoodah · 19/06/2009 10:16

Congratulations Christiana and Mr_Christiana ... wonderful news!

LydiaTTL - that does sound like labour starting. I'm very surprised the MW did such an intrusive examination when you are not even at 37 weeks yet - sounds like she definitely dislodged your plug. What was she thinking?? The long time between contractions sounds like you are in First Phase / Latent Phase labour - this can last for days (or weeks in extreme cases) from what I've been told and read. But I'd get that bag repacked just to be on the safe side. Good Luck!

Going to post my bump pic on profile - 35 weeks today - eeek! Time has speeded up!!

mumofshortie73 · 19/06/2009 10:33

A massive congratulations to you both, christiana & MrChristiana !!!!!!!!

That is wonderful news to start the day, a gorgeous wee girl- i am so happy it all went well, not so nice that she felt icky afterwards, those meds are effective but by God, they do make you feel like death warmed up a few hours later.

Hope the folks at St John's are looking after them,i had my DD there and they did what they could but it was crazily busy- just tell her to keep ringing that bell for help and eventually they WILL appear.

Sounds like your new daughter knows exactly what to do and is feeding, sleeping & serene, what a clever girl !

Beccabump · 19/06/2009 10:34

Congratulations to Christiana and Mr Christiana!! Looking forward to hearing the name soon! xxx

xxhunnyxx · 19/06/2009 11:00

Congratulations to you Mr and Mrs Christiana! I cant wait to see your little Princess. And what a great weight for an early baby .

Well not sure if I'll be taking a visit to the hospital myself today, was stood making my breakfast this morning when I felt a trickle down below and my knickers were all wet. I'm pretty sure it wasn't wee! lol. Rang the hospital and they said it could just be watery discharge but to see if I get any more and then ring back in a bit.

JetLi · 19/06/2009 11:40

Oh wow - well done team christiana!!! That is really wonderful news
I'm off for a celebratory bath and a good weep!

Belgrano · 19/06/2009 11:40

Congratulations to the family Christiana! That's awesome. Well done and I can't wait to hear all about it!Come and tell us soon....

Cheekycel · 19/06/2009 11:46

Wow our first baby!

Congrats to the Christiana's on your lovely little girl

Soon we'll be popping all over! Exciting stuff!

JLo2 · 19/06/2009 12:21

Many congrats Christiana

Looks like I'll be joining you very shortly as I'm being induced tomorrow! Aaaargh
Long story - but basically have a history of Obstetric Cholestasis (DC2)which has reared it's ugly head again in a big way this week. Saw the consultant this morning and he has admitted me, got to go back at 4 this afternoon (I said I wanted to pick the children up from school first!)

lastboxoftampons · 19/06/2009 12:27

congrats to the Christiana family! She sounds absolutely lovely!

Hunny Wonder if this is it for you? Good luck!

And JLo Good luck for tomorrow!!! Wow, this July babies are really moving now! I feel like I've still got ages to go (due 24 July!) and hoping this little guy stays put for a while longer - at least until we can get a moses basket or something other than a drawer and/or laundry basket for him to sleep in

soozze · 19/06/2009 12:50

Congratulations Christiana and dh Glad the birth went well and hope you get to go home sooner rather than later.

Lovely bump pics too ! I?ve only taken one this time, must remember to take another one. It really does feel like time has speeded up in the third trimester !

Good luck with your pains Lydia & hunny. And wow good luck JLo for tomorrow, what a surprise !!!

Lastbox we have the moses basket down but are still trying to order a new mattress for it (first one that came was too small), I don?t feel ready!!

Congrats to the Christiana family and welcome to the world Baby Christiana!!!

Good luck for tomorrow JLo!

I'm like Lastbox in that my LO still seems so far away (27th July) but the amount of stuff I need to get done between now and then seems ginormous! Am currently washing car seat covers, etc from last time so at least I feel like I'm achieving something!

lastboxoftampons · 19/06/2009 14:19

soozze Um, I just had a look at the list and I think you better get on that mattress! It's coming up soon!!!

Activity LOL at your baby's arse feels like a head! Well done on him being engaged though!

Andie washing car seat covers is one step better than me - this is our first, so we don't even have a carseat! Partly down to the fact that we haven't decided on a pram... DH and I are at a stalemate! I know what you mean about it seeming far away, but having so much stuff to do in the meantime anyway. I go through periods where I think Oh, I've got AGES alternating with Oh, SHIT! Not to mention the fact that we've finished an extension on our house not too long ago and I've still got MILES of skirting to paint!

nicky6 · 19/06/2009 14:23

hi all not been on for a bit have 13 days to go before due date and my dd who is 16 months came a week early. All a bit manic as dh working away this week and next week, so trying to cross my fingers and legs and make sure this lo doesnt come early.

firt baby of the thread has arrived ho exciting and congratulations.

Dont know if anyone else is looking at double buggies but O baby have just brought out a rival to phil and teds and it comes with all the stuff for about £250 so much cheaper - just in case anyone interested.

Am pretty ready here as dh away i thought i better try to get organised. Moved dd into new room which means she is a bit out of sorts but better now than later i guess.

Glad to hear of weepy women as I had good boo hoo yesterday over nothing and then switched to being ver angry - lucky dh away otherwise i fear he may have got both ends of that emotional rollercoaster.

Have the stuff laid out to go in my bag but its not actually in a bag yet but I reckoned that was close enough, have washed baby clothes and moses basket sheets etc and bought drinks and snacks to go in hosptal bag - actually did that before putting any baby clothes in.

Bump is huge i think a boy but we are having a surprise so who knows - no names decided on here hope inspiration will come. weird being one of the first as dd was due on 29th/1/08 so i was one of the last so I had to switch between the pre and post natal threads for a few weeks!!!

Anyway enough rambling good luck everyone.

nicky6 · 19/06/2009 14:29

lastboxoftampons - just to say on the pushchair front - i know some people like to buy brand new however if you are interested in 2nd hand my friend is selling her bugaboo as she has 14mths between her 2 and has had to buy a double buggy and I am selling our Hauck Infinity for £130 as my dd is 16 mths comes with footmuff bag cosy toes etc as we have to get a double buggy and its in really good nick as we switched to a little maclaren buggy after 7months or so.
anyway just a thought {grin}

Gillyan · 19/06/2009 15:16

YeY!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations to MR&MRSCHRISTIANA God I'm crying! I'm so emotional today. Sending all my love to you all!!
