Hello all! Thought I would start this off as our existing thread is full!

marmitemonster I don't blame you I'd be fuming at the invasion of privacy. I'm not sure there's much point in trying to remove what you've said off here though, if they've looked, they know already. You've said nothing that I can think of that would be a sackable offence. Don't worry about it, what's done is done...time to enjoy the ride.

sleepingalot · 11/06/2009 21:14

marmitemonster can't believe how those peolple are treating you - especially after everyhing you have been through. All I can say is that their own lives must be sadly lacking if they have to poke their unwelcome noses into other people's private lives!

I really hope things improve for you and soon. Sending you a

Hi All
Can't believe we're on second thread!
Just thought I'd add something to remind us what we want at the end. After seeing my midwife, she picked up the next lady in line's baby (looked about 5 months old, so I'm guessing was there for a weight check), and she brought her over and said "isn't she gorgeous". She realy was and it made me smile and think it really could happen.
My DD is such a litle girl now, which I love, but I'm looking forward to the wide-eye smiles too.

Marmite I don't think you've done anything that should cause probs in work, most of us have some reasons to complain. It may be worth building bridges with the person you'd like as a referee tho

Your company doesn't sound v friendly at all! Glad you have other referees instead. Rather then resign, could you stick it until mat leave, then do the 13 weeks after your leave (get all your mat pay from them)?

marmitemonster · 11/06/2009 21:54

I am now considering informing them of my pregnancy far earlier than I was going to... because if they read emails (they have I have evidence, unfortunately) then they already know. If they are to now get rid of me, it will be more difficult should I have already told them I am pg, more of a murky area legally.
What do you think? Beat them to it and protect employment, potentially, or keep quiet and lay low for the time being?

marmitemonster · 11/06/2009 21:55

oops! I think MN are now deleting all my posts! lol

marmitemonster · 11/06/2009 21:56

MN- that's enough !!!

Thank you to MNHQ for your amazingly fast and helpful service, one less thing to worry about at the moment...!!

lilacpink · 11/06/2009 21:58

My vote would be to protect employment for now and make it known to your line manager officially, get the mat money...then run after you've covered the 13 weeks back if it's an option (I think that's the length you have to cover, else you have to repay some of mat entitlement, or tick a box somewhere to claim less money off your company if you don't want to go back at all).

marmitemonster · 11/06/2009 22:07

wow they deleted everything!!!

Ah well, at least my employer can't read any of my posts now. Grr, I have had a really bad time of late this is just adding to the madness of my life! I think I may tell my manager soon, so I am more protected than I would otherwise be from redundancy/dismissal as they will have to be a little more careful, presumably.

lilacpink · 11/06/2009 22:14

Off to bed, goodluck with next few days - hope work gets better

crumpette · 11/06/2009 22:19

thanks lilacpink- I have a new alias. I wanted 'the artist formerly known as marmite' but apparently it was too long- grrrrr!!

Strangely I think of myself more as marmite atm than as my RL name (worrying) so I may change it back in a couple days when the coast is clear....

coffeeicecream · 11/06/2009 22:24

sleep well all hope things do get better for you cr.

crumpette · 11/06/2009 22:25

In case anyone thinks I am insane I asked MN to delete my posts on the old thread, as my employer has been hacking into my personal emails on which are mn login details, and I have only just gone back from maternity leave so don't want them to know anything about current pregnancy or anything I've said about them. I wondered why they were treating me so utterly appallingly and I think I may now know why!

Sorry for the vents everyone!

crumpette · 11/06/2009 22:26

thanks coffeeicecream x

crumpette · 11/06/2009 22:50

thought id pop on as im up. Have woken this morning with no sore boobs which im taking as a bad sign as last time i mc this is what happened. They still feel heavy and sore but i rely on then tenderness to tell me everything is ok.
Definately going into epu now, cant face waiting over the weekend.
Have not got any bleeding or cramps but am worrying about mmc. Will let you know how i get on. I shall be at those doors at 7:30 joining the que! Will have to go alone as no one else can come with me, and i think its far to early to ask my iltte sis who will just tell me im being silly anyway.

sleepingalot · 12/06/2009 06:41

iateallthecreameggsyummy I hope everything is ok. My boobs are nowhere near as sore as they were at this worried me too. But had scan yesterday and all was fine. Thinking of you.

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 12/06/2009 06:48

hi sleeping,

DH and I had a chat and decided ill go tesco when it opens (only 5 mins drive) i will do test in the loo as its been 10 days since last test. If i get nice bfp then i will come home, and if it takes long to show up then will prob go epu, saving my pee to test at tescos!
Sure everything is fine was having a worry moment seems common to have days without boob pain and i have slight burning sensation at the moment, will see how things go at tesco! thanks and have a nice day! Im on a proper rollercoaster ride right now, was in tears at work last night!

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 12/06/2009 07:43

alls ok ignore my silly moment above for those who log in later!!
went to tescos and tested in the loo, bfp before it reached the 2nd window so im much relieved now!
The line is not as solid as the last one but nevertheless its still there and i have invested in 3 spare tests for when i have silly moments again!
(smack myself in the head for being so stupid!!)

dal21 · 12/06/2009 08:12

Iate - glad you are ok.

Crumpette - LOL at all the deleted posts. Looks as though you had insulted us all. Then changed your mind.
All jokes aside...reading between the lines, it doesnt sound as though anything has gotten better.
Re. telling them earlier about the pregnancy. It depends entirely on what they are doing. If only a handful of redundancies are being discussed, then yes, they will find it more complex to make you redundant if they know you are pregnant. If however, there is a larger scale redundancy underway with a group of people - all being measured based on agreed parameters - then it may not make much difference to the outcome.

It all depends on how 'by the book' companies are when they do this process. Unfortunately in this climate, there are many companies who will absolutely be able to prove beyond doubt; a true business need behind not requiring existing headcounts any longer. And so long as they follow correct procedures, they will be in the clear.

Having said that - there are plenty of companies who wont be that thorough. HTH.
