here we go...
Guess in the next one will be the one where we'll be waiting for the first kick! hooray it's the weekend! i haven't had any stretchy stomach feelings, maybe a quiet period pain rumble (!? is that what you mean?) well what a beautiful day i'm lying on sofa under a blanket, laptop on lap and sky baby channel on in background (i've just shed a few tears of happiness for a manchester mum who has just screamed her head off and given birth to a baby boy).

can't remember who asked - cads? re: measurement of c to r . i had one scan at 11+1 babe was 4.5 and another at 12+2 and it measured 6.0 cm.

have good sats jen

Talking about stats, Enthusia has started a proper thing on the Nov 05 members list we should all put our stats on there!

twinkle1 · 12/05/2005 08:42

where do you fnd the members list????
twinkle

hamster · 12/05/2005 09:01

Good morning!

I don't know twinkle, it is all v.confusing.
It'd be good to see everyone's stats though.

Well..feeling like poo again today, I feel I could sleep for a million years! Bless ds though, he has a nap about 9.30am, so I'll be racing off to try and get my head down for half an hour!

KristinaM, so glad I am not alone with the lack of fitting clothes. My ds is 9 months, and poor old body here hasn't had much chance to recover!
I blamed it on the fact that I only breast fed for a week. Perhaps if I had been able to go longer then I may have lost more weight. Suppose I'll never know.

Rodeo1, if you register on the pampers website, they will give you your own page when you log in. It tells you what week your at, and every week you can print out what's happening that week; to you, and to baby!
They will also send you a book of vouchers for nappies/wipes etc. I registered last time I was pg, and I still get the odd few vouchers now.

Hope everyone's well!

hamster · 12/05/2005 09:10

I must be going mad, I am 15 weeks today, not 14!
I'm losing the plot, it's only through reading yours rodeo1(I'm due Nov 4th}, that I thought hang on something's not right! lol....how embarrassing

I am sane, honestly. Ignore my foolishness!

BEKsmum · 12/05/2005 10:21

Morning girls, how's everyone doing? Things are quiet here, ds is being a star which is really nice.

I'll be 14 weeks on Sunday it seems to be moving a bit quicker now which is cool. Still feel really tired though which is a bit of a pain.

The Nov stats list is in the same area as this one and is called Nov 05 stats I think. I'll go and add mine in a minute.

Nothing planned today but as the weather appears to be good at the moment I might take ds out to buy his tee-shirts for our holiday next month - hooray.

Another good site for pregnancy & baby info is babycentre.co.uk, very helpful and it send you weekly newsletters all the way through the pregnancy and after the birth. I still get monthly news letters for ds and he's 3+

Right better go, speak to you later.

CADS · 12/05/2005 10:31

Good morning everyone,

Hope you are all well and looking forward to a nice weekend.

Feeling really tired. DS has not sleeping properly for the last couple of nights. Can only put it down to teething as his ear infection has cleared up. He has never been this bad, wonder if it could have something to do with the MMR jab. Anyway, hope he gets over it soon!!!!

Twinkle - Hope you had a wonderful holiday, really jealous.

Can't wait till mine. Going to visit my parents in South Africa for three weeks. Would be more excited about it, if it weren't for the fact that my parents house is not at all baby friendly and ds gets into and climbs everything. Everything in their house is breakable (glass coffee tables, marble flooring, etc). The house is all open plan so we can't lock him out of the worse rooms and I can't see my dad agreeing to put locks on cuoboards and drawers. I can see myself having to spend all my time stopping ds from doing things and him throwing tantrums. Don't think i will get the rest and relaxing I need.

Going to try and see if ds will have some sleep, purely for selfish reasons!!

By the way here is our members list

Hamster - no its not the Bf! I am still Bf Ds and have hardly lost any weight from the last baby either. There have been several threads on this and although lots of mums found the weight just fell off with the BF lots more found they couldn't lose any weight til they stopped. Besides Bf for a week is better than not at all. At least you tried - lets face it - it doesn't work out for every mum/baby does it? We all do our best for our kids

I just got a phone call from the hospital about my booking appointment tomorrow - they wanted to change the time as the dr has to leave early. Apparently i will get a scan!!!!! So pleased . I'm 12+3 so should get a good view i hope

busyalexsmummy · 12/05/2005 11:15

KristinaM-yup, last pregnancy was a nightmare really,
didnt enjoy it at all!As for being induced I dont really
want to be induced but at the same time it would be nice to
know i have the option if it all gets too painful! not like
with ds when the consultant didnt give a f**k!

alex is incredibly annoyed by the fact he can no longer get into
the cuboards/toilet/sterio etc lol
the bin is the main problem though, every oppotunity he gets
when my backs turned hes fishing things out-ewww, horrible child!

feeling abit down today, feel quite isolated at home and i think
im quite scared i'll feel even more so with 2.
ms still present, but not every day now which is better.

have been looking at walking sticks(?!) in case i need to buy one soon
i think i may consider it for when were on holiday, i found some really
cheap ones on ebay that fold away for under £10 so at least i know where
to go when the time comes lol!

hope everyones well
xx

Xena · 12/05/2005 13:46

Afternoon girls, AM still feeling really sick but thankfully my DC's all seem well. Although DS is doing his SAT's at school and is abit moody. Can't wait only have 2 weeks left of daytime childcare and then I'll have the days free while DS is at school and DD is at preschool. DD2 sleeps in the morning so I'll be back to bed whoopee!!

hamster · 12/05/2005 16:47

Afternoon,
ooh my feet ache, have been shopping for summery clothes-stretchy ones! It's a nightmare trying to find skirts esp that are elasticated round the waist! Still, I found a couple.

busyalexsmummy, I really hope you feel a little more cheery. I have the same feeling about having 2 you know-being isolated-I don't think I'll ever have the guts to go out!!

Right I'm gonna go add my stats to the list...if I can find it!

ChaCha · 12/05/2005 17:58

Hi everyone, was just catching up on all the news, everyone seems to have lousy m/s these days!! I don't wish it on anyone but is great to know am not alone when head is permanently fixated over loo - how disgusting!

Had a lovely lunch yesterday and a most needed BBQ courtesy of DH and friends. Did some finger painting with DF's 2.5 year old in the garden. Kept her busy for ages as we all sat round large wallpaper roll making handprints and shapes..reverted to being a toddler for the day and enjoyed every minute!!!

Booked my nuchal scan for next week (DH having probs keeping to a date due to work commitments) only to discover it will cost £130!!!! Called my GP who said they could give me a standard dating scan next week at 12 weeks so thought fine - that's what i'll do then.

My Good News is: ta ra ta ra taraaaa (trumpets) no infection!!!! GP said results back and there is nothing to worry about - no infection detected! So all in all, had a good day at work, good day yesterday and am feeling a bit better (thanks to the tablets)..gosh i'm writing for England aren't I??
There was one incident at work though did my usual paranoid routine and accused a few colleagues of taking over my job before i'd even left!!! felt a tad silly to say the least

Best go before i beat records here ... love to all xxxx

ohhh...before i forget..pelvic muscle stuff, do you have to start now?

BEKsmum · 12/05/2005 19:01

Hi all , just a quickie from me 'cos I feel like absolutely dreadful and I'm going to bed, even my ds is staying up later than me today!.

Busy can understand whey you're feeling a bit down it does seem daunting doesn't it but everyone I know says it's easier with the second as you're more relaxed about everything and you generally just concentrate on no.1 and drag no.2 along for the ride! Where abouts are you? If you're local to me, I'm very lucky in having a great group of friends made through our post natal group and we welcome newbies with open arms so if you want to tag along and meet some other lunatic mothers just let me know. No stalker / nutter tendencies inferred here!!!

Kristina good luck tomorrow let us know how you get on won't you!.

I've decided there are two great myths in life about dieting, the first is that you lose weight when getting married because of the stress and that you lose weight when you breastfeed - both of these passed me by I stayed the same weight for my wedding no matter what I did and didn't lose a pound feeding Ben!

Got to go as I'm almost asleep at the the keyboard. Speak to you all tomorrow.

KristinaM · 12/05/2005 22:15

Thanks Beksmum - will do so. Glad its not just me still flabby while Bf!!! I notice that the Bf propagadists don't ever mention this.....

And while i am still moaning - do any of you remember reading in those pregnancy books that only 50% of pregnant women get MS? And that 50% includes those who just felt squeamish for a few days all the way to those with hyperemisis gravida (sp?). If that's right, why does it seem that nearly all us Nov mums have MS??? Does that mean we have more than our fair share? Have the due in October mums got our share of the Ms free pregnancies??????

rodeo1 · 13/05/2005 11:46

Morning ladies,

Glad you are all well! Will look at the stats page in a min and add to it! Thanks for the pampers website idea hamster, will do that in a min too!

Good luck at your scan today Kristina! And when is yours now Chacha?

Had a panic stations moment again this morning. At work last night some complete idiot (who doesn't know I'm pg) grabbed me from behind around waist and yanked me up off the floor . Was ok at the time but had a few twingy pains and was convinced that something was wrong. Rang mw (in tears) at 9 who was lovely and said she'd come round as soon as she could. She arrived at half 10 with her doppler and promptly found babe's hb!! Was soooo relieved! I could have kissed her.

Also babe's HB was 145, after reading another thread somewhere about hb rates sure I'm having a boy although I'm not going to tell dp or he'll be smug as ever!!

oh god, guess what else I did last night ! Made the children cheeseburgers for tea last night and after they'd half eaten them saw that the burgers were still a bit raw in the middle! How terrible! Took them back but was feelng rather guilty about trying to poison them. Well got back from work to find poor ds spewing up!! Argggghhh! Good news is dd is fine - has the stomach of an old boot like me, thank goodness!

alfiesmum · 13/05/2005 13:03

Afternoon everyone,
KristinaM - I think I am one of the lucky ones and apart from the odd day very early on with a slight sicky feeling I am feeling great with no m/s. (sorry,I actually feel guilty writing this you all sound so ill!)

I must say I am very impressed with the new topshop maternity range, I have bought a pair of lovely jeans and jogging bottoms which are fanastic and don't even look like the usual awful maternity stuff and they are comfy.

rodeo - That must have scared the life out of you, thank god it was all ok x

I have horrible cold at the moment and i'm really missing my blackcurrent lemsips! will have to make do with soothers instead.

Is anyone getting really bad trapped wind , I was in so much pain last night that I couldn't eat my dinner, have just bought some tablets which say are suitle during pregnancy so will give them a go next time.

BEKsmum · 13/05/2005 14:52

Afternoon all, Rodeo glad everything was ok, it must have frightened the life out of you. When will you tell work?

lol out loud at the burgers, that would be me, nightmare that your little one was sick, bet it wasn't the burgers to blame though!

Alfiesmum tried cooled boiled water for the wind, works everytime, if you don't want to take tablets. it's good for babies and little ones too if you aren't a fan of gripe water.

Still feeling like c**p, and have had a headache since i woke up this morning so I'm off for a slow walk to pick up ds from pre-school, speak to you all later.

twinkle1 · 13/05/2005 17:05

twinkle

SharonTW1 · 13/05/2005 19:21

Hi Everyone working late tonight, that's bad, well can hardly go out and get drunk ??!!
Feeling fine now , 12 weeks tomorrow, can't wait for my scan on Thursday.
Hope everyone's well and has a great weekend, sorry haven't had time to read all the notes been mad here.
Take care !

ChaCha · 13/05/2005 22:00

Beksmum - hope you feel better, think i know how you feel but can't imagine having a little one to look after too! Don't know how you all do it.

Hope everyone's well. Need some advice, got a letter about nuchal scan today from the private hospital i've been with and they said that for the £130 i'd have the nuchal scan and a photo! I can't really afford it TBH but i'd love a photo if everything's okay. Do you think i should just go for normal 12 week dating scan and be done??
Thanks am changing my mind constantly.

Must go lie down, am not good after food.

busyalexsmummy · 13/05/2005 22:27

Went swimming today and for the first time ever ds took himself off when we got into the pool and wasnt clinging to me for dear life!!
have have spd pain mildly all day today so i guess this is it and its only gonna get worse, have been looking stuff up on the net about best treatment and theres so much conflicting advice ie.chiro/oestio(sp?)/accupuncture, i think i'll post on the pregnancy section and see if anyone else has tried any of these and if it worked. a bit worried as im not sure wether they'll do any of it on the nhs though so i guess i'd better start saving my pennies!

beksmum im in somerset :-)

Enthusia · 14/05/2005 08:25

ChaCha, is your dating scan with the NHS, as in is it a normal 12 week scan, if so I got 2 piccies with mine that only cost £5. I also get 2 from my 22 week scan for this money. They also did a nuchal scan at the same time, are your hospital really different to mine?

I said yes I want a 12 weeks scan and they said ok, here is your date, I went along had the scan, was introduced to bubs, they did the nuchal scan, told me all the bumf that goes with it, dated my baby (exactly the same as we first thought) and then printed out 2 piccies for me. Is this not what you will be having with the NHS? I am confused!

ChaCha · 14/05/2005 08:33

Hi Enthusia,
Hope you're well.
When i told my GP about the private nuchal scan she just said i can arrange a standard 12 week dating scan for you on the NHS. She said 'that is all that they'll do' though. So am assuming, there are no pics etc..might be worth my finding out now that you mention it. Thanks.
How's your pregnancy anyway, don't see you a lot here anymore..Traitor!!! Humph!!

Enthusia · 14/05/2005 08:42

I'm here, just trying to get through work which is a nightmare!!!!! Plus my Mum is still busy looking after me which means I get little time to surf on here! At work my bloody computer keeps crashing everytime I enter Mumsnet, I am sure our technition has done something to the computer on purpose!!!!

As for my pg, I am actually feeling better, although I only feel safe saying this when every part of me is touching wood of some kind!!! I am 14 weeks now and my abdomen has gone really hard, all the way up to my belly button, I am just waiting for a kick now!! But even that seems so far away, is it week 17, they say for your first baby? Sickness has now subsided and eating religiously ever 2 hours has cured my trapped wind HOORAY!!! Am starting to get some energy back now, however took advantage of this yesterday and worked at school from 7.30am til 6pm without really stopping. Felt a little worse for wear yesterady night. Slept well though. I am now in some maternity clothes as all my trouser zips now fall down!

Anyway how are you doing? Saw on your stats that your hospital is John Radcliffe, isn't that meant to be one of the best maternity departments, I remember someone saying this when I used to live round there?

How is everyone else by the way? BEKsmum, are you feeling better today? Rodeo has your little one stopped throwing up now?

ChaCha · 14/05/2005 09:45

Hi Enthusia, 14 weeks already, that's great. I am just 12 now but really, really looking fwd to a scan! Am still sicky, get light headed and am so sick of my bedroom at the moment, in fact the whole house. I really feel like i'm in limbo at times. Is great that your mum is still around, must make a welcome difference. Work is a nightmare here also even having gone part time! I just don't have that energy anymore and find mornings a real struggle.
Can you imagine going through all of this with little one/s running to care for? Don't know how they do it! Can't be that easy to just think of yourself and say 'well, i'm going for a lie down now' or 'i'll just go and be sick' makes you think doesn't it?
Am hermitting today..sick of being at home and don't have the va va voom to go out..sods law.

xxxx

BEKsmum · 14/05/2005 10:26

Hello all

Just got up so feeling ok at the moment, thanks for asking everyone!

Twinkle I do feel horribly tired considering I'm past the 12 week stage so know how you feel. Good luck with your scan on Monday hope there's only one little darling in there for you, had the same worry myself and was very happy to see the big gaping black hole surrounding bub Let us know how you get on won't you?

Busy, bugger didn't realise you were so far away , have you asked around on the site to see if anyone else is from your neck of the woods? Hope you're feeling a bit better about everything, if not pour your heart out we're all here for you.

Chacha you do get used to coping with the little one around, in actual fact it can be a good distraction as you're feeling sorry for yourself but they just want to play or do something so before you know it you are engrossed in that and don't feel so bad. Evenings are defintely worse so though as you are completely knackered and feeling sorry for yourself!. Like you i'm sick of the sight of my bedroom but it's also where the pc is so if I want to chat i've got to be in here .

Rodeo how's your little one? Have you managed to poison the rest of the family yet this week

Going to take ds up to London this afternoon after drama to see the cars in the Gumball 3000 rally. He's car mad and with 250 of the best there he should be enthralled, just hope I feel well enough to do it as have been utterly pathetic for the last two days.

What is everyones understanding on paracetamol? I thought the dr's had said it was ok, my gp certainly did when I told him I was pregnant, then when I went to get a low dose paracetemol from the chemist yesterday as I had the mother of all headaches the pharmacist said that it's not recommended and that I should go home and lie down somewhere quiet with a cold flannel on my head. I asked him if he fancied babysitting my toddler for a few hours while I achieved this and he just said "oh never mind, I'm sure you'll manage it's just going to be a very long afternoon!" Wish the information we received was consistent.

Right better go as I've rabbitted on for far too long. Have a great day and I'll speak to you all later.
