here we go...
Guess in the next one will be the one where we'll be waiting for the first kick! hooray it's the weekend! i haven't had any stretchy stomach feelings, maybe a quiet period pain rumble (!? is that what you mean?) well what a beautiful day i'm lying on sofa under a blanket, laptop on lap and sky baby channel on in background (i've just shed a few tears of happiness for a manchester mum who has just screamed her head off and given birth to a baby boy).

can't remember who asked - cads? re: measurement of c to r . i had one scan at 11+1 babe was 4.5 and another at 12+2 and it measured 6.0 cm.

have good sats jen

Hi there Diddle,

Congratulations on the arrival of AF...you're going to be a very busy lady soon then!!!
Wishing you all the best xxx

BEKsmum · 10/05/2005 16:16

Thanks Diddle & Xena that was really nice of you to say, Diddle if you catch this time do you promise to join our thread again as well as the February one as you can't just leave us in the lurch when your good news comes, we can all commiserate when you feel sick.

Xena I live in Bromley so not that far from you if I remmber correctly aren't you in Sidcup?

Cracked up at your little boys antics, my ds hasn't sussed this yet but I am waiting for the day he does. He has started putting the plug in the sink and filling it with water so I'm waiting for a flooded kitchen any day now.

I was reading Junior magazine which I think is really good and it says that these sort of experiments aren't naughty they are learning and that we should find them funny?!!!

Krisitina how old is your little girl? Very funny but so infuriating when they have an answer for everything.

Chacha you are so in for a surprise when this little one comes they are cheeky as soon as they can speak and a nightmare form the moment they can roll over!!!

I think the pains and stretchy feelings you get when you sneeze are normal, you just have to remember that from now on everything is on the move, musles and ligaments are stretching to accomodate and in all honesty you just have to remember you're pregnant and move a bit slower, you can't just jump up like before 'cos your body won't let you and will complain bitterly, you won't harm the baby but your body will be quick to remind you to respect the fact that it's busy growing someone.

Busy sorry to be thick but what's GD & GTT? Have been sitting here puzzling and can't work it out!

Hamster enjoy the show, let us know what you find out won't you.

Got to go as ds wants to play on the pc now and I've promised he could. Speak to you all later.

busyalexsmummy · 10/05/2005 16:32

beksmum- GD- gestational diabetis(sp?)
GTT- glucose tolerance test, tells wether you have GD or not

hehe xx

Diddle · 10/05/2005 17:52

Beksmum - i couldn't possibly leave you guys, will always stay in touch. You've been a great support to me.

alfiesmum · 10/05/2005 19:12

Hello everyone, I think I said hello weeks ago and have not posted since!

Very sorry about the people who have lost their babies, to be honest it scared me as I hadn't realised how common m/c was till then. I didn't want to post again till I had past the risky stage.

Had my scan last week at 13+1. C to R was 76cm, does this seem quite big?
I have felt the baby moving for the last few days now, which is very reasuring but I didn't think was possible as i'm only 14+1!

ChaCha · 10/05/2005 19:19

Hi Alfiesmum, it's nice to see you again Glad all is well. Before MN i had no idea that m/c was so common in early PG but i'm glad that i know now and am amazed at the support those who have lost their little ones have been able to give to others and how they've carried on being a source of selfless strength. Quite amazing really!! Here's to them all getting a BFP in the very near future raise glasses of water pls.

Have been asleep forever, thought the sleepy bug was a sign of early pregnancy, have just been sleeping so much and feeling absolutely crap STILL! Am wondering if i do have an infection of some kind this could be adding to my feelings of not so good well being.
I am going to nominate myself for 'crap wife of the year award' DH came home at lunch and made me food and has come home from work at 7pm to make the dinner before going back out. What is happening to me!!!!!??

Enthusia, how did m/w appt go?

CADS · 10/05/2005 19:27

Hi ladies

Just a quick catch up before dinner is ready.

Diddle - Glad your AF has arrived. Have funny BD.

yingers and busy - fantastic news re your scans.

Busy - Know what you mean about locks and biting. DS has spent most of the day trying to take huge chunks out of me. I am not 100% convinced that he doesn't have rabies. Maybe, I should have him checked out.

SharonTW1 - Nice to see you seem more relaxed at work. I remember being pissed off with particular everything and everyone during the 1st trimester last time. Then in 2nd trimester, I was really relaxed and happy everyone must of thought I had a split personality.

Xena - How your dd doing today?

Alfiesmum & Hamster - Welcome back. Hope you are keeping well.

Alfiesmum - I think you mean 7.6cm and no that isn't to big. It is normal size, DS was 7cm at 12+3.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.
X

Enthusia · 10/05/2005 19:46

Hiya

MW appointment was short and sweet as she couldn't understnad why my appointment had been booked so early and not at week 16!!!!!

Anyway, she said that they would not be able to hear the heartbeat but said that as long as I wouldn't feel weird if we couldn't find it she might as well give it a try!!! Guess what, second swipe and there was a booming from the machine, I must be having an elephant!!!!!!!

Other than that blood pressure is fab and she doesn't want to see me now until week 28, which feels miles off!!! Mind you that will be a busy few weeks as I will have a DRs appointment one week, scan the next and then the MW.

Asked about the stretchy pains and were told they were perfectly normal, (as BEKsmum aptly explained)as are pains when you sneeze, its just ligaments!

I am feeling a bit better now and am going to heed the MWs advice about eating EVERY 2 hours, hopefully that will make me feel even better!

ChaCha - hope you feel better soon, I promise if you are anything like me you WILL start to feel better at 13 weeks, I know this feels a while off but the end to the sickness is in sight I promise!!! As for the worst Wife award can I also be in the running, I found it soo hard to cope with anything my Mum is now here doing everything!!! (nothing in the bed department with DH I hasten to add) I must admit, it has enabled me to get back on my feet though. God knows how long it will have taken without her help. Don't you just love Mums!!!

alfiesmum · 10/05/2005 19:48

CADS yes your right just read notes again, and it says 76.0 mm!

Xena · 10/05/2005 20:36

Chacha I would give you a good running for bad wife you should see the kitchen, washing pile etc!!
Beks I live in Eltham so not far from you, am booked into Queen Marys Sidcup as thats where I had the other 3.
Thanks for asking CADs she feels alot better I think. She woke up about 6 this morning feeling terrible and achy but then I got her a drink and a huge bowl of dry cheerios and by the time she had finished she seemed back to normal, proceed to eat 5!!! slices of toast with marmite. Poor girl must have been starving because normally its v difficult to get her to eat breakfast!! She was Absolutly determined to go to preschool and she could as she hadn't had dirrohea for 24hrs, I am hoping the stool sample shows an infection rather than anything more serious should get the results by the end of the week.
Enthusia I love hearing the heartbeat, when I was pg with DD2 the midwife was doing my booking app at home and DD1 was ignoring her and playing but the minute she heard the heartbeat she stop and came and held my hand.
My sister is pg and due in July with her 2nd she found out that she is having a boy. I was telling DS and DD1, DD says but I need a baby brother she comes over and strokes my tummy and says maybe if you go to the hospital they could get another baby out of your tummy! DS was desperate to tell her I am having another. DD then asked how DD2 came out of my tummy, Ds helpfully says maybe mumy pushed it out of her willy, to which I reply that I haven't got a willy so he says to DD maybe she pushed her out of her minnie DD make a funny straining noise and says 'oh no it wouldn't fit out of there arghhhhhh

BEKsmum · 10/05/2005 21:20

Xena rofl, absolutely classic, you need to make a note of that somewhere to tell her when she's older.
Glad your little one is feeling better, you know how to get her to eat now, in future just starve her a bit and she'll soon appreciate whatever you give her.
If we ever get a summer perhaps you me and Tex should meet up and get the kids together to play in the park.

Glad to hear it Diddle, that's what we're here for. Before I joined this I was really skeptical of chatrooms and would never have thought that I would make friends with so many people.

Alfiesmum, welcome back, I think a few of us were freaked out by the losses of the others but as Chacha said they have been amazing in how they've coped and managed to stay around to chat with us.
Glad that your notes say 76mm not cm otherwise that's one big baby your having there

Busy thanks for that, you learn something new on here every night, I take it it is as it sounds and only lasts for the pregnancy and that you don't suffer afterwards?

Chacha have you tried taking an extra pillow to bed to put down by your tummy and between your legs, sounds odd I know but it just supports your tummy which hurts because the ligaments are under so much strain, even this early on.

Hamster I'm gutted just looked to see when the baby show comes down south and it's not till the 21st-23rd October as I was three weeks early with ds perhaps I should go and hope that my waters break there, do you think I'd get loads of freebies!!!

Right I'm out of here as still feeling sick with taste of rotten flip flop in my mouth and I feel like I could sleep standing up, so speak to you all tomorrow.

Diddle · 10/05/2005 21:31

chacha - i've raised my glass of chardonnay with your water, sorry girls, i've been off it for a while, trying to be good in case i was pg, but now af has arrived i'm enjoying the day.

Glad your MW appointment was ok Enthusia, and that all is well with your baby "elephant"

have a good evening girls

hamster · 11/05/2005 08:54

Morning all,
just dropping in quickly to catch up on last nights' chat. I am off out shortly...if I can summon the energy that is! I feel like POO!

Alfiesmum, glad that your baby is 76.0mm....phew that would make your eyes water if we were talking cm's! lol So jealous that you're feeling baby move, I am 14 weeks tomorrow, so perhaps I won't be far behind. I really hope not, it's just the best feeling ever. They reckon you feel it earlier in second pg's as you know what to look for...in theory anyway!

Can't wait for my m/w appointment in 2 week's time, listen to the heartbeat and make sure all is well. Still feels miles off. This pg is going soooo slow. Then I don't see her until 24 weeks. Ah well. All good fun.

Chacha, I have had the sneezes wickedly for the past fortnight, must be the pollen or something in the air, but I think I have pulled something as is really hurts to laugh or cough now. Just one of the many cr*p things we have to put up with
You're not alone!

Have a good day all! xx

ChaCha · 11/05/2005 09:15

Morning all
Another sunny morning here in the south, hooray!
Feeling a bit better this morning, still have Beksmum's rotten flip flop mouth (he he) and strange tummy aches - cannot sleep on stomach at all now and wake up puking if i happen to roll onto right side - isn't this all a bit too early?!

Am hoping to have a nice lunch with a friend out in the garden today, really need to get out of this 'i don't feel well' mode.

Oh gosh, I reall don't feel well

Diddle · 11/05/2005 09:22

take it easy chacha - have a great lunch, sounds lovely, the sun is out here in the midlands too, lets hope it stays there.

ChaCha · 11/05/2005 11:46

The sun doesn't know what to be doing with itself!! Feeling cold with the windows open, looks like we'll be having lunch indoors.
Have resorted to an anti-sickness tablet and am actually feeling a bit better. The sunshine i've been waking up to for the last few days has put me in the mood for swimming!
How is everyone today?
Where you all hiding then ?

CADS · 11/05/2005 12:41

Afternoon everyone

Have to agree with Chacha, the sun has no idea what its job is. Wake up every morning to glorious sunshine only for it to retire by lunchtime.

Chacha - LOL. I get really bad hayfever for the whole of spring and summer and remember thinking ds was going to drop out everytime I sneezed. I won't worry about baby falling out or doing yourself an injury but would definitely work those pelvic floor muscles. Had an extremely embarrassing accident after having ds while sneezing. My yoga teacher said before you have children you should do 100 per day but after getting birth you need to increase it to 200 everyday for the rest of you life. Haven't managed this yet!!!

Hope everyone starts recovering from their ms soon.

See you later

BEKsmum · 11/05/2005 16:47

Hi all, had a quiet afternoon while ds was at pre-school, got my haircut so that I don't look like a candyfloss head any more.

Ds had just had a complete hissy fit at me so is cooling off in his room for 5 minutes.

Need to get something for dinner but really can't be arsed, was going to go to local restaurant but now ds has had a tantrum seems like I'll have to cook as to eat out would be rewarding bad behaviour.

Chacha hope you had a nice lunch with your friend. None of the sleep things issues are unusual even this early on, I found from about this time last time I couldn't sleep on my front and from about 20ish weeks slept every night sitting up to beat the discomfort and the heartburn, so don't worry too much. You could always buy yourself one of those full size bean bags to fit to your shape if you really can't slepp in a bed, it's what a friend of mine did and now her toddler uses it as day bed and as something to jump on. The pillow trick I was talking about yesterday also worked for her.

I am officially fed up of feeling so knackered and sick and I'm also fed up for the taste of year old flip flops in my mouth - sorry just had to moan as I think dh is fed up of seeing me with such a long face.

Cads lol at the pelvic floor exercises, made me think of our first antenatal class where we had to practice them and the mw said "when we'd all finished screwing up our faces perhaps we could exercise our floor muscles!" SHe reckons no one needs to know you're doing them but I've never met a woman yet who can do them without it showing on her face!!!

Better go and sort something out for dinner otherwise I'll sit here all night, speak to you all later.

twinkle1 · 11/05/2005 19:36

hi everyone just a quick note to say im back from my hols, had a great time. Hope you are all well talk more soon

Twinkle

rodeo1 · 11/05/2005 19:45

Hi girls!

Not been on for ages it seems!

Nothing on the telly is there? Dp doesn't get back from work until half 9 tonight and children asleep in bed so I'm bored! Been feeling loads better this week, I think the sunshine is helping - I even had the children in the paddling pool this afternoon!

Felt the bubs move this week which is v. reassuring. Only when I'm really still and concentrating though! I think I'm 15 weeks now, is that right?? EDD 3 Nov - Bloody hell that seems really far on!! or am I 14? Right I'm going to go on some calculator thing and find out. Something to while away the time!!

rodeo1 · 11/05/2005 19:49

Ooh twinkle!

I was just thinking of you earlier and how you'd be lazing in the sun by the pool!! Is that poss with 2 children?! It'll be 3 this time next year, oh god!! Hope you had a brill time anyway lovey, nice to see you back x x x

CADS · 11/05/2005 19:51

Rodeo - 14wks 6days

Be back soon, dh shouting for his dinner.

rodeo1 · 11/05/2005 20:26

Cheers Cads!

Wow, so 15 tomorrow!

Couldn't find a calculator thing, been looking at babyname websites - what a task! An enjoyable one, but a task none the less, might leave that part a little bit longer....

KristinaM · 11/05/2005 20:43

Hi all. Nice to hear fom you Alfiesmum, Hamster and Twinkle.

Hamster - yes i am struggling to fit into my jeans, have only one pair that fit comfortably. I have not even lost the flab from last baby ( 12 months ago!!!!) though I blame the breast feeding.

Chacha - yes 5yo DD is a cheeky little madam. I'm hoping boys arent this bad....When i lie on my back I get breathless and more nauseous too. i think its the baby pressing on the vena cava, which is a main artery. thats why you are meant to lie on your left side after week 12 or so ( when baby moves out of the pelvis)

BAM - sounds like you had a pretty cr*p pregnancy last time. Glad to hear they are taking good care of you. Do you want to be induced early if they think this baby is big?

Your toddler sounds just like mine - they must be reading the same books. Toilets are a major interest, along with the kitchen bin and unrolling the TP. As well as eating the many small barbie accessories that he finds around the house ( shoes, earrings, handbags).I find it amazing that so many children actually survive this age

mummygow · 11/05/2005 21:05

Hi everyone hope you are all feeling Fab..

I'm feeling loads better the last couple of days - cleaned the whole house today and just had a great bath.

Cant remember if I told you my stats - if repeating myself - sorry!!

Due date - 2nd Nov
Age - 28 (29 when baby born)
Baby No 2
DD aged 2 years and 10 months
