here we go...
Guess in the next one will be the one where we'll be waiting for the first kick! hooray it's the weekend! i haven't had any stretchy stomach feelings, maybe a quiet period pain rumble (!? is that what you mean?) well what a beautiful day i'm lying on sofa under a blanket, laptop on lap and sky baby channel on in background (i've just shed a few tears of happiness for a manchester mum who has just screamed her head off and given birth to a baby boy).

can't remember who asked - cads? re: measurement of c to r . i had one scan at 11+1 babe was 4.5 and another at 12+2 and it measured 6.0 cm.

have good sats jen

Hi Guys juat had a whizz through all the messages from the wekend in my lunch hour, if it's any help I had a urine test and she tested some for protein andsugar there and then then sent the sample off too as standard procedure - she said to make sure there was nothing else to worry about, didn't think anymore about it. Got my scan next Thursday and I can't wait, not feeling poorly at all now and I know it's mad but that is a bit worrying isn't it? Keeping positive though, am putting on weight had to buy bigger size trousers and have been feeling some stretching feelings as someone else put it. Off to a meeting now take care everyone . Hope I can leave work really not enjoying lately , so stressful. x

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 13:04

Hi Sharon, glad all is well. Your scan is a week on Thursday? Mines is a week today, but might have to rearrange depending on DH's schedule. Mines will be 12 weeks, urs?

I am not going to worry about the possibility of a minor infection. I am going to get on with being sick and grumpy! All will be well, all will be well, all will be well.....and thus she convinces herself and disappears ...

yingers74 · 09/05/2005 14:21

hello all,

had scan, bloods etc today and went well although they seem to have done away with one to one midwife care for my area so no more home visits for me, boo hoo.

anyway, am 14 weeks and 3 days according to the scan and due nov 4th, slightly earlier that I had guessed.

the scan person was a man, which was unusual and one of the first things he said was 'ok up u go and let's see if you are still pregnant'. Hmmm luckily i am ok about the miscarriage i had in jan but goodness knows how someone who still feels raw would have reacted to that! Men!

And I am not expecting twins, phew, after the dreams I was a bit nervous.

hope everyone is enjoying their mondays.

rodeo1 · 09/05/2005 14:23

Chacha - my scan's a week today as well! What time is yours? I've got to wait for 3.45!! Think I'll be 14+wks, I'm getting confused which week I'm on to be honest!

rodeo1 · 09/05/2005 14:25

Brilliant yingers!!

Although what an insensitive git!!

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 14:28

Fab Yingers! Congratulations on the great news! Gosh, there's a months difference between us!

I would have been pretty narked..insensitive so and so!

Hi Rodeo, 10am but DH seems to be too busy on Monday so i might make it the Tue or Wed, but can't bear waiting any longer!

Diddle · 09/05/2005 14:36

excellent news Yingers, so glad it went well for you.
what a typical man, he's obviosuly never had to worry about that sort of thing. Good job you were ok. I think i would ahve tols him if it had been me.

SharonTW1 · 09/05/2005 15:01

hELLO AGAIN, yINGERS i CAN'T BELIEVE THAT man , I would have had to have said something to him, he's in the wrong job for starters.
Cha Cha I'll be 12 weeks on Sat and my scan is Thurs.
Busy afternoon so I'll sign off now, take care all write again tomorrow ! x

BEKsmum · 09/05/2005 17:16

Afternoon all just a quick one before I go off and cook ds's tea as he has just asked for it - bad mummy!

Congratulations Yingers glad all went well at least we can both now sleep easier knowing we're not having twins or more!!! What an insensitive prat that guy was, men they just haven't got a clue when it comes to this sort of thing.

Chacha thanks for asking still feeling sick which is getting on my nerves as I'm in week 13 and i want to feel better - I also have the taste of old flip flops in my mouth it's disgusting and nothing I drink seems to clear it and I'm back to plain very cold water again, this helps for a few minutes but then the taste comes back!

Don't worry about the water test it's normal procedure and as the others said we are more prone to nasties while we're pregnant, just drink loads of water if you can even in little sips just make it little and often and you'll soon get rid of it.

Xena hope your little one is feeling better soon, must be a nightmare in your house with a hungry toddler on the loose.

Diddle glad you managed to get some pampering from mum and that your dh is opening up about the mc it is really difficult for men to be open about there feelings isn't it?
How old is your grandad? My nan died a year ago at Christmas, leaving my grandad and he's 89 but fighting fit, reckons he's not going anywhere till he's 100 and to be honest he'll probably make it too!

Cads hope you get a reasonably peaceful night with your little one after his jab, hate doing jabs too, we always went in pairs and the friend held the baby while the jab was done, so that the little one could come back to mum for immediate comfort, rather than wondering what the hell mum was doing to them!

Right better go before child starts chewing on my arm, speak to you all later.

busyalexsmummy · 09/05/2005 17:20

Hi everyone, have been away all weekend at dp's
B-i-l! not a great experience!
cads-feeling a bit better about no2, still think im crazy sometimes(especially on the bus this morning when he decided to start biting me!)but so so. i think that the new baby will probably be the one left in the moses basket in the corner rather than ds being pushed out as i'll be too busy running round after ds to sit cuddling the new one!
I think its hard especially if theyre starting to test their limits with you like ds has the past few weeks(terrible twos come early)
but i think its one of those things you just have to get used to the idea over time

Jenjam- i started getting constipated about week 7, am going days without going, not much helps it have tried most things and the only thing i flet helped were natrual senna laxatives(ask chemist/gp before use)

went for my dating scan today, piccy very clear, ds was little monster the whole trip, then i got locked out my house!

appt went fine F/M seen, F/H seen, trace of protein in my urine but apparently nothing to worry about, having physio refferal at 24 weeks although ive had spd pain mildly for the last 3 days so that may move forward. they are going to do a GTT at 26 weeks just to rule out diabetis(sp?) as cause for large baby AND he also said there was a silm chance of induction after 36 weeks if the pain got too bad and baby too big! so am pleased with that and feel im being taken more notice of in this pregnancy than before.

busyalexsmummy · 09/05/2005 17:21

oh ps, the scan dates put me back again so edd is now 23rd nov and today am 12 weeks??!?!

Diddle · 09/05/2005 17:51

busyalexsmummy - glad you had a good scan too, i bet its amazing seeing them there inside you (haven't experienced it yet) hopefully in a few months that will be me.

Beksmum - My grandad is 83, he hasn't got much use in his legs so when Nan died he had to go into a home as he would need too much home care for him to stay there, but he is very settled now and although he moans about it, we know he secretly likes it. He's even had his piccy in the paper bless him. for a special event they did. He is quite well on and off, has an infection every now and then but Nan was his carer, and they say the carer always goes first. She wore her self out. But is resting now in peace looking after my lost little ones i would imagine. she's always been good at looking after other people apart from herself.
Sorry got a bit carried away there.

Xena · 09/05/2005 18:01

Glad it went well Busyalexsmum I can't wait for mine.
Diddle it will happen soon.
My Grandad is 85 too and my Nan and Grandad are 80. As both mine and DH's parents are still alive it gives my children 7 Grandparents. Nan is going senile and my Grandad tries to cover it up it makes us really sad. Although a little frustrating at times, my nan tells people that she hasn't seen us for ages and she sees us every week. She phones at least 5 times aday as she forgets she has already spoken to us. The bigger children we have explained it to but the little ones are oblivious to it which is good. My other Grandad sounds like yours Beks fighting fit and determined to see his Great Grandchildren grow a bit more yet. He had 2 children 9 Grandchildren and our baby will make his 17th Great Grand child 28 desendents!! Sadly my nan died before their last grandchild was born so he has been alone for along time.

BEKsmum · 09/05/2005 19:58

Busy glad all went well today, sounds like they gave you a lot of info.
By the way don't worry about the terrible twos I can assure you the threes are a hundred times worse!!!

Blimey Diddle & Xena you both got me there a complete lump in the throat and tears in the eyes moment.

Diddle I'm sure she is looking out for your little ones, and that you will eventually get to meet them too or so the spiritualist faith believes. But before you know it you are going to have a little one running around you to worry about instead, you've got to believe that it will happen for you. Someone as nice as you won't be made to suffer for much longer if its what you really want.

I'm glad your grandad likes the home he's in it is such a difficult decision to make, my nan hated the home we had to put her in after she broke her leg, but then again she always was a bit of a cantakerous old bat - love her, and would have made life difficult even if we had put her up in a five star butler service hotel

Xena I had to smile at your gran, dh's nan is the same but she really is away with the fairies and continually asks you if you like her family and says over again haven't the children got big & asks whether we still live in London. Can make for a very long visit but she adores my dh so we go to see her whenever we go home to Wales

Wow 28 descendents that's very impressive, just a shame that your nan didn't get to see them all. My parents are amazed that they only had two children but will now have four grandchildren, this will be there lot though as my brother & I are adamant that we only want two kids each. It's amazing how the family grows with each generation.

Better go as dh has just got in from work and said "I suppose I'd better make my own coffee then" cheeky bugger, I've been on duty with ds since 7 this morning so I think a twelve hour day is plenty for one day.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

KristinaM · 09/05/2005 22:43

BAM - glad to hear your scan went well but sorry to hear you have SPD. Did you have it with your first preg? Sounds like they are watching your carefully this time. Why do they think you might get GD? Was DS very big? Sorry he is being such a monster at the moment - its hard to be patient when you are feeling crp, isnt it. I feel like I will explode* at DD if she argues with me one more time. She is at that smart alec stage....you know...

Mum - Please pick up your school jumper and put it in your room
DD - Its not a jumper its a cardigan

Diddle · 10/05/2005 07:49

beksmum - well you got me back there, my eyes filled up just reading your reply. Thank you, you always have something lovely to say to everyone.

Enthusia · 10/05/2005 09:07

Started writing this yesterday but bloody school computer froze. I really don't know how we get away with having PC's that are so old they don't support Microsoft!!!!!!!

Anyway - ChaCha - As to your maternity pay problem. I too was on a temporary contract until August as my school was getting permission to go through to all primary. This permission has not been granted so my contract will finish in August, however, my school bursar has been excellent and as 11 weeks before my due date is the friday at the end of the summer holidays, they have said that they will still pay me my maternity pay, I will just not go back after the summer and on the forms say that I will not be returning to the school! Don't know if this could also apply to you!!!

As for the urine thing - when I went in for my booking in appointment my urine came back from the lab showing that I had an E-Coli infection in it - apparently this can be seriousish, but also common. They gave me a course of antibiotics and now I am fine!!!! So I wouldn't worry, even if it is an infection there is not always something to worry about!

I am starting to feel better (touch wood) although baby this morning obviously did not like my hot lemon drink as i promptly threw it all up! Haven't been sick for a while though, so that is not too bad!!!

My tummy area is now starting to feel really hard at the bottom and I have strange feelings in it, including that stichey pain when I stand up or move too suddenly!! I am off to the midwife in an hour or so, so will see what she has to say. Not sure what they will do today though as only 13 weeks!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great day and I will speak later - after going back to work for the afternoon!!!

ChaCha · 10/05/2005 10:07

Morning all,
Hi Enthusia, is always lovely to read your news, glad you're well and thanks for the info. Come online later and let us know how it went with m/w.
Was just LOL @ Kristina's daughter, gosh, I didn't think they started those kind of smart alec remarks until their teens! Scary!

Still feeling totally crap. Am not at work and in bed. Cannot describe the feelings i have, the yukky mouth syndrome is still here and have this feeling that i really can't describe. Lying on my stomach really made me ill last night as did lying on my right side, got some relief on the left side but eventually got to sleep lying on my back. Feel like i have a tight chest, can't explain, need to be sick again, am off xxx

Xena · 10/05/2005 10:17

I agree Diddle, Beks you have nice things to say to everyone. I didn't realise you live in London where abouts are you?
Enthusia I get that when I stand up to quickly almost like my tummy can't keep up!
Have a great day all.

Xena · 10/05/2005 10:18

Morning Chacha hope you feel better!

hamster · 10/05/2005 10:46

Hi all,
Been so busy being;well...busy! Feels like I haven't been on for ages and have forgotten how to type!
Anyway, good to see you're all still ok all be it a little sicky still. I thought it was supposed to go by now(I am 13+5)wishing though, even the smell of my man's body spray makes me sick!

Chacha, my midwife told me to sleep on my left side, as this is the best position for circulation and there's less chance of feelin sick as your digestion works better too on your left.....whether this is true or not is another matter!

Well, I am off to the baby show at the NEC on Friday, get loadsa bargains hopefully. We got lots for ds last year and LOTS of vouchers!-definitely recommend it.

So then, who else can't fit into their normal clothes anymore?!

busyalexsmummy · 10/05/2005 11:10

KristinaM-yes had spd with 1st pregnancy, but didnt get it until 32 weeks which was good as i only had it for 11 weeks, by the end of my pregnancy i couldnt do anything really, dp had to get me out of bed and dress me!!

They think i might get GD because ds was 8lb 13oz and they didnt do a GTT last time so they are going to check this time round.

All our safety stuff arrived this morning so dp is busy drilling, we bought 15 cuboard locks and a toilet seat lock, becuase ds keeps fishing in the loo!! and putting his bath toys in the toilet-ewww!!!

Xena · 10/05/2005 11:58

Busy I had SPD in my 2nd pg but with my 3rd managed it with reflexology which is what I'm hoping to do this time.

ChaCha · 10/05/2005 13:37

Hi all,

Hope everyone is okay. Kiddy stories are hilarious, I was LOL again but this time at thought of Busy's kid fishing in the toilet! How funny!

Am still siiickkkkkk! Managed to have an hours sleep but woke up with the most awful dizziness ever! The dizziness is overpowering the sickness right now - am feeling v.strange indeed.

Hamster - she must have been right because its the only position now that i find any comfort.

Question everyone - if you cough hard or sneeze do you feel like you've pulled a muscle or hurt your tummy in any way????

Diddle · 10/05/2005 14:19

chacha - can't help with the sneezing problem, although when i do it does hurt my tummy and i'm not even PG.
Hope that you start to feel better soon, take it easy and look after yourself.

Enthusia - I hope that all has gone well with the midwife, let us know how you got on.

AF arrived this morning for me, finally, so in a couple of weeks i will back at the BD trying hard to be in the same boat as all of you. I ahve also worked out that if we are lucky enough to catch this cycle then our baby will be due on Valentines day, how lovely.

Hope you all have a good day
