here we go...
Guess in the next one will be the one where we'll be waiting for the first kick! hooray it's the weekend! i haven't had any stretchy stomach feelings, maybe a quiet period pain rumble (!? is that what you mean?) well what a beautiful day i'm lying on sofa under a blanket, laptop on lap and sky baby channel on in background (i've just shed a few tears of happiness for a manchester mum who has just screamed her head off and given birth to a baby boy).

can't remember who asked - cads? re: measurement of c to r . i had one scan at 11+1 babe was 4.5 and another at 12+2 and it measured 6.0 cm.

have good sats jen

chacha - couldn't you stay on after the holidays but have it as maternity leave and still have the income then decide near the end of the maternity leave whether you go back to work or not, or is that not allowed, i have no idea how it works.

mawbroon · 09/05/2005 09:35

Cha Cha - sorry to gatecrash, I am from the October thread, but lurking round the Nov thread in case I am late. Re the maternity leave. I am in a similar position with a temp contract which ends in August. I will qualify for maternity allowance for 26 weeks at around £106 per week. You should too providing you have met the criteria which is some thing along the lines of having worked (employed or self employed) for 13 weeks out of the last 66. If you check it out on the Job centre website then you will get the proper info.

beksmum - sorry i never answered your questions.
My mom is just inside Wales, in Chepstow. Shes been there a couple of years and loves it, but for practical reasons is planning on moving back where i am this year, to help look after my grandad.
She waited on me a little, and bought me and dh a lovely meal in the local pub. We were taking a cooker and mattress down for her from my nans old house (she passed away Dec last year) so we're clearing the house out. It was just nice to see her.

DH and i had a great meal, i think he feels quite wobbly too and is showing his emotions more recently than when the m/c happened bless him you knwo what men are like. he's bottled it up and letting it out gradually.

Hope you had a good weekend.

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 10:42

MawBroon - thank you for that. Will go check it out and see what's what

What the hell could a possible minor infection be when detected in urine??????

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 10:53

Anyone????

CADS · 09/05/2005 10:56

Morning everyone

Where has the sun gone?

Rodeo - Glad you feeling better. I have my off days too when anything gets to me (weight gain, baby worries, etc) and i land up feeling sorry for myself (HORMONES!!)

Chacha - Not sure I would check with your GP/MW and find out what they are talking about. Do they mean a urine infection?

Yingers - enjoy your scan today

Be back later

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 11:04

Hi Cads, am assuming so. I doubt it's anything major as my GP suggested i see her later in the week when she is in. I can't wait though and have contacted the surgery who say another GP will be calling me at lunchtime with results.
My own GP did say 'possible minor infection' and that a phone appt would suffice. Am hoping this is not as bad as i am making it out to be..

Beks - how are you feeling today? I am still in limbo and worse. Can't even keep sickness tablet down, just feel like i have a bad flu and the most disgusting taste in my mouth..its yuksy!!!!

CADS · 09/05/2005 11:11

Good see what the doc says. Are these results from your urine test which was done during your booking appt or something else?

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 11:12

yup, that's right.

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 11:13

She said during the appt that urine was fine but would just check for any infections...i can't imagine what kind of infection i have, surely there would be symptoms. Am really trying not to worry here..my mouth tastes like crap!!!!!

CADS · 09/05/2005 11:16

My mw just did a dip stick test during my appt which tested for protein and glucose but I got the results there and then. I did have to wait.

Did lots of water and cranberry juice just incase it is a urine infection. We are more prone to them when we are pregnant. I had a UTI a few years ago and it was not pleasant so you want to avoid it.

Xena · 09/05/2005 11:17

Good morning all. Another ill one in our house. DD1 has an upset tummy that has had blood mixed in so we need to do a stool sample She seems ok in herself now but won't drink dirolyte and is starving hungrey and they have said nil by mouth for 24hrs.
Anyway i'm well and have arranged my scan for 2wks. well catch up soon xxx

CADS · 09/05/2005 11:17

I won't worry too much. If it was serious they would have had you in for treatment but the only thing i can think of is a urine infection, but i'm not an expert.

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 11:19

Oh Xena! Haven't kids of my own (yet) but can imagine that you must be absolutely exhausted with being PG yourself and looking after the little ones esp when unwell. Hope she's okay, and do keep us up to date. xxx

Cads - I had cystitis after getting married and a UTI months later. Not fun at all really hope this is not bad news.

CADS · 09/05/2005 11:20

God I am crap at tyoing.

Chacha - I meant did NOT have to wait for results and DRINK lots of water and cranberry juice.

Xena - sorry to hear about your poor dd. hope she gets well soon. it is horrible that they get go through some much when the little. glad you are feeling well. Look after yourself

CADS · 09/05/2005 11:22

done it again

Xena · 09/05/2005 11:30

Hi CADS and ChaCha just realised you are both on here at the moment. DD1 seems ok she is curled up on my lap asking for ice cream

CADS · 09/05/2005 11:33

Xena - Good to hear she is feeling better. I don't think ice cream will be a good idea maybe a ice lolly. DS has had constant ear infections and been teething non stop for 3 mnths so we not getting much sleep in my house.

Xena · 09/05/2005 11:35

No I have said no but she is asking because she knows shes not allowed it! how old is your DS?

CADS · 09/05/2005 11:38

He is 14.5mnths. Poor thing had his MMR jab this morning. Horrible mommy!!

Xena · 09/05/2005 11:46

Oh poor thing. I hate mine having to have injections

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 12:20

Just had a call from GP. He said results are not clear cut, meaning they can't tell one way or the other so must repeat test and send away to lab. He says if there is anything is most likely a water infection and a nice long word beginning with 'E' which i cannot find on net meaning bacteria...

Xena · 09/05/2005 12:22

Chacha I don't know if anyone has already said it but the best thing to do in the meantime is flush it out with water (drink as much as you can)

ChaCha · 09/05/2005 12:33

Thanks Xena, if i can keep it down will drink as much as i can. Cranberry juice is on the list.

The word is 'enterococci' not that it means anything to me but is something to do with bowel bacteria, how strange!!!
Now having to wait for results is going to be another great roller coaster. I asked him if there was anything to worry about in the meantime and he said no. why can't i believe him.
Que sera..sera...
