here we go...
Guess in the next one will be the one where we'll be waiting for the first kick! hooray it's the weekend! i haven't had any stretchy stomach feelings, maybe a quiet period pain rumble (!? is that what you mean?) well what a beautiful day i'm lying on sofa under a blanket, laptop on lap and sky baby channel on in background (i've just shed a few tears of happiness for a manchester mum who has just screamed her head off and given birth to a baby boy).

can't remember who asked - cads? re: measurement of c to r . i had one scan at 11+1 babe was 4.5 and another at 12+2 and it measured 6.0 cm.

have good sats jen

Oh Jenjam - have a safe and wonderful trip. Keep us posted on your news if you can.

Busy - Doesn't sound like it went that badly, bet your relieved. You did your best.

bamik · 01/06/2005 16:02

Me too - I'm terrible at work sometimes and I hate myself for being like that! I haven't been too bad this week though

bamik · 01/06/2005 16:03

Mmmmm Nandos! I love Nandos. I have completely gone off chocolate since the beginning of pregnancy! That is weird!

ChaCha · 01/06/2005 17:37

TMI - i know, but my sickness is no way as severe as it once was but it's different. Can't really explain it - i'm just sick all at once and its all over. Not really wretching (sp?) and dying over the bowl/loo/sink. Am i making sense?
Perhaps its time for a lie down

bamik · 01/06/2005 17:57

Horaaayyy!! Home time. Catch up with U ladies tomorrow. Shame I don't have a PC at home yet!

Chacha - Don't worry hun, it'll stop soon. Am I right in thinking you're about 14 + now?? Soon you'll feel totally normal!

Love,

Bami

BEKsmum · 01/06/2005 18:07

Evening all, thanks Rodeo, didn't actually get to the farm as it rained so went ten pin bowling instead and then had the kids back to play and for tea, just sent them all home and I'm knackered, ds is behaving like a little sod and i'm fast losing patience with him!!! Oh for the days when they couldn't speak, don't think I'll teach the next one till its 5

Jenjam safe journey honey, hope work isn't too demanding and that you can manage to chat to us sometimes although I'm away on Sunday till the 15th with no access at all as my parents haven't got an internet connection, how will I cope as I'm now totally addicted. We'll both have acresof messages to catch up on when we get back.

How funny are you lot with your food cravings, what good hubbies / partners you've got, mine would you just laugh and tell me to find something else to eat or as he doesn't drive tell me to go and get myself if I was that desperate!

Busy glad the wedding went well and as you say you tried, now when you go to her hen night you'll really have to play on the being pregnant bit and sigh alot over having to drink soft drinks all night with your sister in law!

Chacha Bains is right about the days thing you can count it like I am i.e. 16weeks & 3days or I could say I'm in my 17th week. Depends how literal you want to be really.

I've got my 16 week check up tomorrow so hope to hear the heart beat again and I suppose it will mean more bloods etc but that's fine, just good to know weverything is progressing well. My bump has appeared over the top of the fat now so at least now I look like a pregnant elephant rather than just a fat one

Has anyone got any further news on Hellkat, hope she's doing ok.

Right better go as dh has just got in and I've completely ignored him while I chilled out chatting to you lot have a great evening and I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

HellKat · 01/06/2005 18:27

Back home finally!
They're still not entirely sure what's up. Had the d&c done Saturday night. felt fine after. Then went downhill Sunday. Temp shot up, could'nt stop puking etc. Was on IV anti-biotics and they were taking blood left, right and centre. Started recovering then developed an allergy to one of the many anti-biotics (got minging rash all over my body!). They're 90% sure it was'nt a new pg. Just lots of very infected remnants left from the previous d&c. Have to go back Friday for a hormone test. If it has'nt come down, then that means a new pg but possibly an ectopic one (even though they checked and there did'nt seem to be nothing there). But glad to be home!! Can't believe how long I was there!!!!
How's everyone?
Very of Tex and her scan! How wonderful!! They won't let kids in at ours!

HellKat · 01/06/2005 18:28

P.s Thankyou all for warm wishes and concerns! Made me into a mush bucket!!!
Feel better knowing it probably was'nt a new pg (means one less mc). Now the waiting begins until we can ttc!

Laylasmum · 01/06/2005 18:41

Rodeo , did you get to H&M in the end? is it any good? I've got a dd free week next week so may go over to Notts to get some holiday shopping just wondered if it was any good as derby shops are pretty crap!!

Laylasmum · 01/06/2005 18:43

P.S: anyone thought of any names yet??!!

rodeo1 · 01/06/2005 19:37

Just a quick one tonight,

Went shopping (quite successful - a few tops and bottoms) but now I'm shattered with a headache!

Hellkat, great to hear from you, what a crap time you've had, but so glad you're ok.

I'm going to bed for an hour or so, got to get up to watch the last 'desperate housewives' as my video is broken - so glad i'm not at work tonight!

Speak to you all tomorrow x x

mummygow · 01/06/2005 20:21

Hi everyone not been on for nearly 2 weeks so hope you are all doing well and hope all your bumps are getting as big as mine!!

Not feeling too tired anymore (18 weeks today) and sickness gone (except for slight boakiness this morning).

My new problem is wind!!

I am starting an early pregnancy class tomorrow - I know I already have a dd at nearly 3 but I am trying for a VBAC this time, so I am going to these classes and a revision course for second time pregnancies in September as I need all the help I can get - I am soooooooooooo excited!!!

I am trying to find a website with names - I would like to find out when my dd's name originated to look at other names from that period, so I would appreciate any help (I will start a seperate thread too)

ChaCha · 01/06/2005 20:51

Evening all,
Welcome home Hellkat, we were all worried about you. Glad that you're back and still in your usual high spirits
How is everyone else? I can't believe that some of your are 18weeks!!! Wow! Won't reach that milestone until end of the month.
Meet my m/w next Thursday for the first time, will be somewhere between 15 and 16 weeks. How many blood tests will she do? I'm still as nervous as can be! Will she let me the heartbeat do you think? Appt is in the doctors surgery. Can she tell that everything is progressing? Worrying again aren't i?

Time to raid the fridge

mummygow · 01/06/2005 21:01

I was 16 weks at my last app and it was also at the gp's surgery but she listened to my babys heartbeat and it was so reassuring. I never got anymore bloo tests at that appt as I got them all the ones that I wanted at my booking in appt ( I didnt get the ones for ds etc with this baby or with my first. She will check your urine so remeber to take your sample and she will check your blood pressure. She will discuss any worries you may be having so just tell her exactly what you have been or are thinking about because she will want you to be as stress free as possible so even if you think it sounds silly just say it.

ChaCha · 01/06/2005 21:08

Thanks Mummygow - that's great.
Any luck with the name origin?

mummygow · 01/06/2005 21:42

Just bumped my thread again Chacha

Bains · 02/06/2005 08:51

Hellkat....glad to know things are ok with you...I was logging in everyday to see if there was any news. Hope you are feeling better soon...

As for the cravings....I am feeling totally left out I haven't got any....although I feel hungry all the time. I sit in open plan at work and find I am eating every half hour much to the dismay of the guy who sits near me who just thinks I have turned into a human dustbin .

Off to see the midwife tomorrow for the second time....don't seem to have as many questions as I did the first time. But it is a comfort to get checked out....

hamster · 02/06/2005 08:59

Hi everyone,

Haven't been on for a week, dp has been at home since Saturday...it was his birthday yesterday, so a good excuse to take some well earned holiday from work...I haven't really had time to come on. So it's just taken me the best part of twenty mins to read everything!

Hellkat-hope you're doing good. Get baby dancing as soon as you can!

Chacha, I'm sure she will let you listen to it. Ask if she doesn't mention it. Mine did it at 12 weeks last time I was pg!(naughty as you can't always find it that early)

Bains-welcome. Everyone on here is cool, you'll get plenty of advice! Anyway, talking of stretch marks, I've started using 'bio-oil' about £9 in Boots. It's really nice-whether it works or not is another matter though!

Well, I am 18 weeks today! Had my(late)16 week appointment on Tuesday. Had blood taken for downs screening, and checked blood pressure etc. She said she can't see any reason why I am getting bad head aches or bruising as my iron levels are normal. She recommended Pregnacare or similar, so I'll try that. If all else fails I'll go to the docs.
Oooooh, I got to listen to heartbeat too. Oh it was brilliant! So happy now I know everything's going ok! Around 2 more weeks till my scan, they haven't sent my date yet, but sure it'll be here soon.

Got some nice maternity wear yesterday in Birmingham, (dp's bday and he still can't escape!hehe). Dorothy Perkins had quite a nice range, though they never have much in their smaller stores. I got a nice pair of trousers and a top. I also looked in Topshop, their stuff was a little weird though, an aquired taste definitely!
And H+M were as reliable as usual. I always end up with t-shirts when I go there-it's so cheap!

Speak later
x

JenJam · 02/06/2005 12:38

Welcome back Hellkat. hope you're at last on the road to recovery. Take good care of yourself in the run up to ttc..

well i'm really off to the U-S-A now. suitcase is massive. very heavy. but it has wheels. am also slightly worried about being in the air for 10 hours with a watery sac in my belly - we've all seen what happens to a water bottle on a flight and we've all heard babies on a flight crying as they can't equalise their ears. i hope it will be ok. i can't sit at home for 9 months in a duvet can i...or ...can I? mmm.

anyway, take care of youselvecs jen

Diege · 02/06/2005 14:45

Hello everyone! Cervical scan went well yesterday - no sign of neeeding a stich yet, but they'll check again at 19 week scan, and then every 5 weeks until term. Nice to see baby again - it was punching the scanner with its fist much to amusement of consultant. Oh no, a tantrum already!!
Hi Twinkle! Yes, I am pretty close to Ikea/Cheshire Oaks. Maybe we could have a 'northern' meet-up in August perhaps?
Bamik: LOL re food! I have been same, and exploded at DH when he bought pot rice rather than pot noodle (chicken and mushroom) as requested! Main thing now is toasted cheese sandwich and coke. Gone off chocoltae and sweet things completely - odd as I've always been a 3 bars a day person. Can't do any harm though!
Bains: sympathise about sizing in maternity wear. I'm petite too (size 6 bottoms, 8 top), and are forever having to shorten trousers/fold sleeves under). Had a bad credit card moment the other day. Went on 2 v.expensive maternity websites (Isabella Oliver and Push). Ended up spending hundreds that I don't have, but reasoned I had to wear something, and it's going to be my last baby...so....£180 on a pair of Earl Maternity jeans (I'm sure I'll wear them after birth too, and jeans are a staple!). And...er £200 ish on stretchy separates from Isabella Oliver. I know...a total waste, especially when surviving on maternity pay from Nov...but at least the temptations out of the way now, and the spending is over...
Away until 13th in Boggle Hole (East coast yorkshire for a week)so I'll catch up then. Bye for now!
Beksmum: whats your baby movement like? Mine comes and goes - bubblings, with occasional v.soft kick, but sometimes nothing for most of the day.
Diege 16+4

twinkle1 · 02/06/2005 17:02

diege sounds excellent we should def have a northern meet up enjoy hols to boggle hole we just came back from carlton camp on n/yorks moors. We had a fab time

rodeo1 · 02/06/2005 17:03

Hi!

Glad all was well diege! What a naughty baby you've got! Hahaha! How funny

Who was asking about the Clarins Oil the other day? It's fine to use, used it in 1st pg, can't afford such luxuries now though, 2 (soon to be 3) chidren down the line

Erm, can't remember anybody's news now......back up to the top!

Oh jenjam you will have left by now! Safe journey lassie!

Aw chacha, try not be nervous - have you tried bachs rescue remedy? Get a dose down you before you go as I would expect you will have bloods done. (It is safe to use BTW). And completely look away while she gets needle out and takes bloods, you won't feel it! And tell her you're nervous too! I'm sure she will have a listen at 15-16 weeks, didn't hear mine at 13 but did at 15. Try to enjoy it!

Well have a complete children free day and night! My mum's having them as a treat for us (I broke down in hormonal tears in front of her last week - might pull this one again sometime )

So we're at a bit of a loss with what to do, dp keeps saying 'I wonder what they're doing/Do you think your mum will bring them back!' Think we might go out for dinner later or may just get a chinese in (that seems a bit of a waste though!) Yes I think we'll venture out!

Well better go, dp running a bath for me....hmmmmm......I sense ulterior (is that a word?) motives!

18+1 x x x

rodeo1 · 02/06/2005 17:05

PS I'm up for the northern meet up! Laylasmum lives in Derbyshire too x x x

bamik · 02/06/2005 17:56

Mmmmm. I'm liking chese on toast at the moment too! I had that for dinner last night and DH almost had kittens. Says that i'm not eating enough! I actually don't like him at the moment. Do U ever have days like that?

rodeo1 · 02/06/2005 18:26

I've updated the stats list because I've got hair dye on and I'm waiting for it to develop and dp's had to pop to work for an hour! I've taken the ladie's who haven't posted for a while off - hope I've not offended anybody - I hope you are all ok.

Bamik and Diege, put your details on there too! I think everyone else is present on there now. Update and correct at your leisure!

Have a nice evening all x x x
