here we go...
Guess in the next one will be the one where we'll be waiting for the first kick! hooray it's the weekend! i haven't had any stretchy stomach feelings, maybe a quiet period pain rumble (!? is that what you mean?) well what a beautiful day i'm lying on sofa under a blanket, laptop on lap and sky baby channel on in background (i've just shed a few tears of happiness for a manchester mum who has just screamed her head off and given birth to a baby boy).

can't remember who asked - cads? re: measurement of c to r . i had one scan at 11+1 babe was 4.5 and another at 12+2 and it measured 6.0 cm.

have good sats jen

hi everyone, sounds like you have all had a nice weekend/bank holiday. We have had a fab weekend at the outdoor center on the n/yorks moors, it was great kids ran wild in the fields with lots of other adults to look after them wish we could go more often. hope you are all felling well. Twinkle

BEKsmum · 31/05/2005 09:25

Morning all, Diddle thanks for letting us know, please send our love to Hellkat and tell her we're sorry for her loss again, it's so sad that she having such a s**tty time of it at the moment.

Twinkle glad you had a good time over the weekend sounds great, we didn't do much other than to go to a BBQ yesterday after the thunder & lightening finally let up! Had a good time but was knackered by the time we got back.

Ds is being a complete little monster this morning, so has been put back to bed until he decides to get up in a better mood, it's great having my dh around for the bank holiday but it completely screws up ds's routine and he's a monster everytime daddy goes back towork.
To make it worse we're away for 10 days from Sunday so I hate to think what he'll be like by the time we get back from Nanny & Grandad's in Spain!!!

Hope you all had a good weekend, better go as I'm trying to sort out my tax credits and it's driving me nuts. Have a good day all.

Bains · 31/05/2005 09:42

Hiya...back to work today...hate work after bank holidays ....but weekend was good. July sounds like a plan (plus most people will have had their second scans by then)...I have a wedding on the weekend of the 24th and we go away the weekend after (30th?) but the first two weekends are clear...just let me know where and when.

Getting fatter....can't fasten my trousers without the aid of a safety pin! Sorry must remember to chant the mantra "I AM NOT FAT..I AM PREGNANT"

Diege · 31/05/2005 10:40

Been away a few days and so much has happened!
Jenjam - So pleased to hear the good news . Have been thinking about you all weekend! You must feel so relieved - and now the sex to look forward to! (of baby of course, wouldn't like to make assumptions about the other! - it's not happening for me!_
Bains: welcome aboard! At least the week at work goes quicker when you come back after bank holiday! (always get v.confused about what's on the telly etc...I have no life!).
I'm secretly relieved (and a bit guilty) to be back at work after tantrum city from my youngest. Felt quite low about the whole thing yesterday, and as a final resort tuned into 'House of Tearaways' on BBC 3. Usually stresses me out more, but have decided that I must try and keep calm with dd's moods and not start shouting. Made a good start this morning before nursery, though had to leave room for sanity when her trainers had been taken off for 4th time (not like that mummy! On mine own!!!!)
LOL Beksmum about DS. I am convinced that I'll pop on 8th November (5 days early as with other 2). I had a dream last night that I had a boy who weighed 8lb 6oz (gulp). Second daughter was 8. 1, so could be true. Think it's another girl though, as midwife said you have 4x the chance of same sex again after having 2 of the same. Would be happy with girl, though husband wants boy!
Rodeo - you are redeemed. Baked potato with chicken curry - MMMMMMMM!!!!!!
Have scan tommorrow to check lenght of cervix (have had 2 large biopsies in past for precancerous cervical cells). Fingers crossed should be OK, but if not they may put a stich in cervix to hold things in! Would be last resort though because of risks re: general anasthetic. Suggested to consultant that I could have it under local, but he just raised his eyebrows and looked at me!! mmm, suppose it might hurt a bit!
Re: meet up. I'm from the far flung reaches of the North (Wales orignially, but in Warrington now). May be able to make a London meet up, but would really have to come down August/September, as DH already roped in for childcare bacuae of work/trip to Ragdale Hall in July. If you have second meet up later on, I'll be there. Any other mums from North?
Wow, time to get some work done I think!

Diege · 31/05/2005 10:43

Hamster - forgot to mention, thanks for jeans suggestion. One place I haven't tried yet. Went to TopShop on Friday, and got some combats (a bit pocket and zips overload, but a improvement on trackie bottoms. Apart from that, 4 peasant skirts now - great, but can be chilly and there's the self-tan business to deal with too (Am very shallow).

rodeo1 · 31/05/2005 11:24

Hello all!

Glad everyone had a lovely weekend! Are all SAHM mums and teachers on half term? Well we are and I'm still in mt pyjama's!

Diege I kow quite a few ladies who have had 2 girls then a boy! More common than 5 girls round here anyway - your dream may come true yet!

I'm off to H&M tomorrow, haven't got one in Derby so me and sis are off to Notts. Hopefully pick up a few bargains - they do gorgeous baby and children's clothes there too, I'll try to resist getting anything tiny for no 3!

Taking dd along to her pony afternoon later so will get my horsey fix then - no riding anymore though, had last ride about a month ago and really paid for it the next day! Ligaments just a bit too loose now!

Good to hear from you Lisalisa, do pop in on us a bit more, we could do with your input - is this your baby no 5? Or have I got you mixed up with another?

Diddle thanks for letting us know about HK, how awful her d&c didn't get everything last time, let her know we're thinking of her

17+6 x x x-

rodeo1 · 31/05/2005 11:27

Sorry meant to say 3 girls diege - gosh fancy having 5 girls! Although there is a lady near us who has 8 girls and 1 boy!

tessasmum · 31/05/2005 11:38

JenJam - So pleased that it has worked out for you. I don't know about using up all the stress and worry for this preganacy, I think you have used up your quota till at least the teenage years!!
On a slightly more selfish note everything you have gone through really confirms that our decision not to do any tests this time was right for us.

BEKsmum - don't mind telling the world about wedding plans as I'm getting really excited now! Actually getting married on Friday with just immediate family (and mine will still outnumber dp's by about 8-1!) Having a civil service in a local craft museum and gardens followed by a meal in our local Italian restaurant - no problem with 2 year olds running riot in either place! Then on Saturday we have invited everyone we know to a picnic in an English Heritage garden about 10 miles away - we supply cake and champagne, they supply their own picnic. There will be hordes of children and 90 acres to lose them in! We should have 15 people on Friday and if the weather is good, and we have taken a bit of a risk doing it over 2 days, about 150 on Saturday!!
Haven't planned a honeymoon as such but have hired a flash sports car for the w/e and will be staying in a hotel on Saturday night - my 1st night away without dd since she was born!
All my lot start to turn up on Thursday (from N. and S Ireland and the Isle of Man) so computer will be out of commission for a few days. I'll let you know how we get on next week, after a slight recovery period!

ChaCha · 31/05/2005 15:37

Wishing you all the best for your big day Tessasmum Sounds like a super weekend! Congratulations

How is everyone? Enjoying the weather and half term?

Have finally reached the second trimester..ahhhh! Feeling a tad better but headaches are an absolute nightmare. Can't stand them.

Take care all x

Diege · 31/05/2005 15:48

Tessasmum: your wedding sounds like something out of a glossy magazine, and so much more fun that the usual format. Should be a really memorable day for you both!
ChaCha: I sympathise about the headaches. Have a bad one myself today, but not something I generally get in pregnancy. I know they are very commmon though - something to do with pregnancy hormones circulating. My current whinge in breathlessness, no doubt soon to be replaced by the dreaded heartburn!

BEKsmum · 31/05/2005 16:08

Ohh Tessamum that sounds wonderful, hope the weather holds for you I'm sure it will. The whole event sounds really well planned and what a superb idea to break it into the two days, that way you really can have everyone you want there.

Can't wait to hear all about it next week and you'll have to post up a picture for us. Have a fantastic time.

Diege hope all goes well tomorrow, can see the logic in having the stitch put in under local anathestic but yeah bet it would hurt, but then again so does labour so it's not as if we're not all used to a fair bit of pain is it. Hope it's not necessary though.
Sorry to hear that your little one is still playing you up, must be something in the air I think! Only another 3 days of the half term to go thank god!

Rodeo enjoy the horse fix, ds really wants to try horse riding but I'm a bit scared of them so am trying to avoid it for as long as possible, think I'm scared of them as I went for lessons when I was a kid and one ran away with me and then turned round and nipped me. Goes without saying thatI wasn't to keen after that!!!
Blimey just realised how far ahead of me you are, you lucky thing, Can you feel movement more frequently now?

Well done Chacha for reaching the second timester safely only another 27 weeks to go! Glad you're feeling a bit better, know what you mean about the headaches though.

Busy what happened at the wedding? Come on fill us in!

Right better go as ds has finally settled down to play quietly without whinging so am going to enjoy five minutes quiet time. Speak to you all later. Beks 16+2

tex111 · 31/05/2005 17:36

Howdy!! Got back from Texas on Friday and am still so jetlagged that I feel like I have a massive hangover. It's brought the morning sickness back and I was sick over the weekend. Yuck, yuck, yuck. Just hoping it passes in a couple more days.

Had a great time in Texas but I bet I've missed loads on here. How is everyone doing? Will have to read back through the thread and catch up.

Some news... had an ultrasound in Dallas. It was fab. DH and DS were there and so was my best friend and her two kids. It was in a sweet little room with toys for the kids and a projector that put the ultrasound images on the wall like a big drive-in movie. All that was missing was the popcorn! They even played soft music and the sonographer spent ages trying to determine the sex of the baby since we 'had come so far'. I was glad that she did take her time because we were able to find out that we're having a GIRL!! I was so surprised. Always saw myself with two boys.

After that I had a brilliant time with my Mom and best friend buying tons of pink frilly things. I always said I wouldn't fall into the pink/blue stereotype but it's just so much fun!

Hope you guys are doing well. Will read down and check in again soon.

bamik · 31/05/2005 17:50

WHEN WILL THIS STOOOOOOOOOOOOOP [Sad]

Ok - so the morning sickness has gone (hooray!). I'm 15 weeks now but I keep getting these hammering headaches. They're terrible! I'm in the office today and I'm sitting here with the blinds closed as the glare from the bright sky is killing me! It's really getting me down and I've been in a right strop today!

Is anyone else getting headaches?

Bami x

ChaCha · 31/05/2005 18:29

Tex111 - Welcome back Sounds pretty amazing. Drive in baby scan! Wow! How many weeks are you now?

Bamik - just posted a similar msg today!! The sickness isn't as severe with me either but the headaches are a nightmare. Had to drop everything today to go and lie down. I tood some ibrufen (sp?) and a cup of coffee (bad me) but i had no choice - was in such pain.
Poor you being at work too, any better now?

twinkle1 · 31/05/2005 19:06

hi all, diege i am from hadfield so not too far away from you we could meet up also rodeo is from derby so there are a few of us from up here. We go over to ikea and cheshire oaks are they near to you???
talk soon twinkle

BEKsmum · 01/06/2005 10:17

Hey welcome back Tex I had forgotten you were off to Texas so have asked after you a few times thinking you'd disappeared on us! Your scan sounds fantastic what a great experience and how lovely to find out you're having a girl, have you got any names now you know?

Not going to find out myself and funnily this has been the subject of some discussion in the last week or so. By the way as you can see one of the girls 9sorry can't remember who, boy my brain cells are fried!) suggested that we start adding where we're up to after our posts as no one could remember where everyone was up to

Bami if these headaches persist go and see your dr to get your blood pressure checked, as they can be a warning sign for high blood pressure, I think in general headaches are fine and normal but if this is so severe it might be worth just getting yourself checked out just to put your mind at rest.

Going to take ds and his buddy to the farm today, will try my best to avoid touching the animals although it's one of those feeding farms so will just have to be careful I suppose.

Right speak to you all later, hope everyone is well. Beks 16+3

rodeo1 · 01/06/2005 10:37

Hi everyone,

Tex - great to hear from you - you've been gone for ages!!! Wow a girl! I think Kristina knows the sex of her babe too but I don't think she's telling!! Jenjam should find out this week or next too! I don't think I'll be able to resist, but am swinging comstantly from wanting to know to leaving it a surprise. Didn't have the guts to ask the last 2 times, this one will probably be the same!

Aw, Bamik and chacha sorry to hear about the headaches thats so crap! You'll have to get yourselves a pair of huge dark glasses to hide behind!

Have a brill time at the farm Beks! I love all things countrysidey! Just keep slapping on that alcohol gel!

Took dd to her pony afternoon yesterday, they did a few races at the end and I was leading dd on her pony, Molly, and we got a 1st! Molly was fab, she ran her little leg's off! As did I and I'm really paying for it today! I get a bot over competitive!

Well better start getting ready going shopping for maternity wear in Notts today - will let you know if it was a success later!

x x x 18 today!!

bamik · 01/06/2005 10:58

Thanks Ladies,

Am I the only one that breaks down in tears because I can't eat what I want

Last night at about 11:45 I told DH that I wanted chinese. He kindly went his way then came back 30 mins later looking quite distressed as all of the one's in our area were closed! I then proceed to cry! He then said he'll order me pizza (by then I didn't even want to talk any more!). Then he said he'd get me some fried chicken & BBQ ribs from the other take away. Ok then. So of he went again.

It got to about 1.20am and I was so hungry that I thought I was going to die . He had to go quite far to get the food as the other takeaways in our area were now also closed. so by about 1.50am I was in bed eating like I had previously been starved!

Then at 4am got the most terrible migraine ever. I even have another headache now so I think I'll go and see the GP.

Enough about me though - How are U all doing today?

Bami xxxx

ChaCha · 01/06/2005 11:04

ROFL -
Ohhhhh Bamik!!! Too, too funny!!! Ha ha!
I cannot stop laughing

I asked DH to take me to Tescos at 11pm last night for some Tortilla chips and dips. When we got there, the Tex-Mex dips were all gone!! Had a real strop and nothing else would suffice. LOL Poor DH!

Ha ha! LOL. Your post is tooooo funny!

ChaCha · 01/06/2005 11:06

Forgot to ask. How do you actually count how many weeks and days you are.
Do you count the 7th day as beginning of next week or just as that - 7th day.
I am a teacher - honest

busyalexsmummy · 01/06/2005 13:56

Hello everyone, first time ive been online for 3 days(must be a record for me!)
Wedding was ok, although dp got the brunt of my "I look fat dont I?,do I look fat?, do you think this makes me look huge?" remarks for about an hr before we left! only to be replied with-well love, you ARE pregnant!

lol, dp, brothers g/f was okish with me, a bit standoffish, didnt really say that much to me, I tried to chat but didnt get very far, and when dp's sister arrived we both got the cold shoulder as she turned her back on us and started chatting to someone else, o well, cant say we tried and at least we dont have to see her again till her hen night at the begginning of aug!

Cant believe ds didnt stay up for the reception, we took him along as all the family were there so no one to look after him, thinking he'll love it(he's really into dancing at the mo!-bless) but he survived till 9.15pm and was down then for the night! although it probably didnt help that we were in weston all day shopping and he didnt get much sleep!

anyhow, better go now as im waffling now, take care everyone

Liz 15+4

Bains · 01/06/2005 14:15

Hi

Chacha...I think you are as many weeks as the week that has just ended (if that makes any sense!)...i.e if you in your 17th week you are 16 weeks.

Rodeo1 - As for Maternity wear, I just popped out at lunch to Topshop to have a look at their stuff...was really strange being old pregnant lady with all those teenagers around. But I found some trousers (bit wide on the leg...pretty sure they are made for an elephant) and a dress so its not too bad. I am finding maternity wear hard to find as I am very petite. I also picked up some stuff at Blooming Marvellous and they have a sale on at the mo...so worth a try.

My sis in law recommended a clarins oil(Huile Tonic) for stretch marks and said it worked wonders for her but I am not sure if it ok for pregnant women especially as its aromatherapy. The instructions say ...you can use in "after slimming or pregnancy" so I suppose I shouldn't take the risk. Oh well...bring on the stretch marks [wink}

JenJam · 01/06/2005 14:22

ha ha your food stories. i got up at 12 last night and polished off a half full box of frosties. haven't had those for years. and i had eaten only 3 hours before. everyone pissing me off at work. have been a right stroppy bitch today barking at people. dont you hate yourselves sometimes? really excited about finding out whther we are having alittle boy or girl. btw I'm off to the US with work tomorrow and won't be back until the 20th of June (boo! seems like ages and ages....so i may disappear for a while, depends if i can get my remote connection thing to work (I never can). have a good June everyone. any news on hellkat? did the hosp confirm ectopic??
