Due Feb 2010

Afternoon,

I can't find a due in Feb thread, but I suppose it's very early still!

Got my BFP on tuesday, with a due date of Feb 3. It's still not quite sunk in - I've had to take another three tests since then just to check

I'm spending far too much time already planning for this baby when I should be working, please tell me I'm not the only one who is completely obsessed. And that I will calm down eventually!

Anyway, would love to chat with some other newly upduffed types.

Morning all hope everyone is well. Excellent news about all the recent scans.

Devotion - I am so sorry you are havng this worry and just want to say the same as everyone else. Please try and go and have that scan. Two weeks is just too long to wait to see a midwife. All the worry would be bad for you and might send your blood pressure back up. And you are definitely not over reacting. I don't think any one of us on here wouldn't be as worried as you are. Good luck.

Bit fed up too. My nausea got much better for 4 days and I thought it might be on its way out. But no, now it is back with a vengeance.

tryingtobemarypoppins · 12/08/2009 12:09

Devotion - pops78, great suggestion to go to the unit. I wouldn't worry to much about the dates being a week out. At the 20 weeks scan your dates will be confirmed again. You know when you had sex but conception can happen up to a week later they say! Babies can be late, early or on time so don't worry, my first came a whole month early! Good kuck!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 12/08/2009 12:47

hi all scan day today and cant wait!!!!

Welcome all newbies!!!!!!

i feel really exctited today, however i am exhauseted ai had a really hard night at work, (i am a housekeeper at my local hospital 6pm til 9pm) my supervisior decided she wanted the outpatients dept deep cleaned- beds, walls, doors, floors, skirtings ceilings, (remove any cobwebs) light switches wipes, basically everything, i ws to do the biggest clinic on my own- needless to say it was way too much and today my back and tummy are really sore,

all this as there is a huge audit on there today and it has only had basic cleans for a few weeks due to staff shortgages!!!! (why do they leave everything to the last minute and expect the staff to get it all done in one shift!!!!!?)

(i would like to mention i did say to her i dont think its a good idea for me on my won as i thought it would be too much and her reply was your pg not ill!!!!!)

sorry huge rant, better now i am having an easy day today and hve this eve booked off as my scan is not til half 4!!!!!

hope everyone is ok!!!

mawbroon · 12/08/2009 14:18

Oh yuk. I have got off pretty lightly up until now, but am having a bit of a grotty day.

I have managed to eat some dried apricots and two apples since the morning. I know I need to eat, but just looking at food is making me wretch. DS thinks it's hilarious.

I don't have the car today, and we don't have a nice nearby corner shop, or I would be out there in a shot to get some junk.

esselle · 12/08/2009 15:18

Hello All.

I had an appointment to get the results from my scan and blood tests yesterday and all is fine.

Where I live you see a GP to confirm pregnancy, they arrange 12wk scan/blood tests then you are refered to an obstetrician (sp?). The rest of your pre natal care is done by the Obs who is also present when you give birth.

Anyway a friend of mine is a midwife at the hospital where I will be having DC3 and she told me that they have a brand new midwife lead unit which rules out the need for Obs visits (and the cost $$).

When I called the hospital they told me that their list for Feb was full - sorry! So during my GP visit I asked that she give me a referal to an Obs who I have been told is good. I later discovered that this and 4 other Obs who work at my hospital are all fully booked until Oct and I can't see any of them.... Oh crap!

So to cut a long (dull) story short I called the hospital to ask WTF am I suposed to do now and the midwife said they had actually just opened a new list soooooo my name is now on it and I have an appointment next month. Yay!

I am so happy that I can be a persistent little bugger sometimes!! It seems like such a stupid system but I feel quite smug that I beat it and have gotten what I wanted.

When I has my DS in 2007 the Obs I had was an utter pig!! I was induced and during the induction he came in, did an internal examination, broke my waters and left without saying a single word to me. I would rather give birth at home by myself than encounter that cretin again!!

Anyway I am feeling so incredibly tired at the moment that I keep having cheeky little nanna naps in the afternoon while DS is asleep and DD is watching a DVD. But then I can't get to sleep at night, staying up too late and feeling tired the next day... It is now 12:14am and I am going to suffer in the morning!! Must go to bed!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 12/08/2009 17:22

hello, all, Scan went well, however i am 11 weeks today giving me a due date of march 3rd 2010, will stay on here if thats ok but may lurk amongst march thread too!!!!lol (we thought we were due 16th feb!!!!)

CaractacusPotty · 12/08/2009 19:32

Sorry not posted for ages.
Congrats to people joinging us, and to those having good scans.
Massive congrats to insanity, how exciting!
Very sorry to Bobbie, all the best for the future x
Devotion - how've you been today?
Mawbroon - still feeling ghastly here too, someone needs to tell my body that it's supposed to feel better around the 12 week mark (mine never does)
esselle - congrats on beating the system!!
smh&r - deffo stay on this thread too - I'm due near the end of Feb and have always gone 2 weeks over, so (unless I end up with an elective section for bad positioning) I will no doubt be delivering in March too. Was the last person but one on ds2's antenatal thread, you could see the tumbleweed blowing across the thread...

devotion · 13/08/2009 19:10

hello all and congeats on the scans !

i'm feeling better today about it all.

i have moved my mw app to next thursday, i dont have any pains anymore and i read that around 16 weeks you can experience pain as everything is stretching.

also i have felt lots of fluttery feelings especially in bed last night so i feel reassured by that.

i would like to get a scan in tooting but feel like it would be alot of hassle getting my two girls looked after then i would not want to go by myself in case anything was wrong. dh is very busy right now plus he would think i am over reacting.

i have calmed down alot and i dont really have a real reason to go now except that i didnt hear the heart beat and i had some that has gone and is common at my stage. - convincing myself?

plus difficultdecision a gp said that only gp's and midwives know how to find heartbeats and that a nurse would probably not know or not have much practive so that made me feel alot better as it was a nurse who tried.

next thursday i will tell my mw all about it and see what she thinks and hopefully she will find the heartbeat.

regarding ms - i had half a day with nothing and i was SO delighted but next day - yuck!!!

today i am back to feeling awful and i held three music classes with babies and toddlers although its the only time i feel ok when do them except after i am shattered!!!

have a nice evening everyone

x

becks130 · 14/08/2009 09:10

Morning all,

Good news on all the scans.

Glad your feeling better now devotion, good idea to change you MW appointment.

I think i've been one of the lucky one's whose MS has eased to almost nothing BUT the tiredness is still a BIG problem.

I'm going to France for 2 weeks on Monday and I can't wait, I wish I could go now. My DH is French so it will be mostly reletive visiting but I have orgainised a day trip to Paris with my mum who is coming with us for 3 days and a day for DS to Euro Disney, should be fun

I hope everyone enjoys the lovely weather today.

chinook · 15/08/2009 20:46

Becks I am with you on the tiredness thing. I thought we were all supposed to be bubbling over with energy by now! Lucky you going away for 2 weeks. Have a lovely time.

Devotion - glad you are feeling better about things. I think the sooner these babies start kicking us the better, then we can all relax.

I have spent the last couple of days in bed with a truly terrible migraine. I had forgotten how bad they could be. I miss my prescription drugs!

Pops78 · 15/08/2009 21:37

Gosh this threads been so quiet, can you belive that March have the same number of posts around about as us...

chinook - am absolutely on board with wanting these babies to kick so I can stop feeling like paro lunatic. I finally do think I have a little bump but because I have a podge on tummy anyway it just looks like more prominent podge now, though have still not put any of the weight I lost with MS back on. My MS has been so much better this week, though I'm still evacuating half my dinner each night but the constant nausea has reduced..hope this stays and continues improving...glowing here I come.

I am really pleased because I self referred myself to UCH this week as really not over impressed with Royal Free and things I keep reading about it. They were really nice and said it was best I move my antenatal care there too so were arranging my 20wk scan. Then they sent me a letter saying they would like to do my dating scan again there! So this Friday I will get to see my little one again..yay..obviously am also paro that all will be ok again.. will be cool to see difference from 12 to 15.5 wks.

Hope your all having a lovely weekend. Becks - I am so jealous, would love a hol, not going to get one this year though, all too tight...

Insanitybecomesme · 15/08/2009 21:52

Hello everyone,

Becks I hope you have a great holiday and that the tiredness lifts.

Devotion - the fluttery feelings sound good all I seem to have at the moment is wind and lots of it

I am finding my ms is improving at last now I just need the tiredness to lift. I have to wait till the 9th september before my next midwife appointment which seems so long especially as I have so many questions to ask about the whole twin thing.

mawbroon · 16/08/2009 15:12

I felt some movement yesterday!! I am only 11 + 6, but would put money on it having been the baby. I would recognise that feeling anywhere!!

Have had a few days of almost chucking up, but not quite. I have been shovelling down spoonfuls of glace ginger which seems to help a little. I am trying to find out if there is a pattern to feeling sick, but I think it is a bit random. Today I have been fine, so who knows!!

It's another week until I have my scan, but I am sure it will be worth the wait.

Hope everyone is doing ok. I guess I will be the last one into the second trimester next week....

chinook · 16/08/2009 20:38

What did your movements feel like Mawbroon? I felt some flutterings last night and I am thinking, and hoping, it was the baby. Mine have all been in the middle of my tummy a couple of inches below my tummy button. Does that sound about right? It's 4 years since I was at this stage with dd and can't remember much at all. All those sleepless nights have wrecked my memory...

I wouldn't worry about being the last in to the 2nd trimester. I think from now onwards a couple of weeks makes no difference and dd was late so you will probably have a baby before me. Plus from where I am sitting, the 2nd trimester unfortunately feels a hell of a lot like the first!

mawbroon · 16/08/2009 20:50

Yes, flutterings, and in the place you describe. I haven't felt them again. My understanding is that this early on, you only feel it when the baby does a bit movement like a somersault or something. And I haven't been able to replicate the peace and quiet that I had to lie down yesterday and feel my tummy. I felt ds at 14 weeks, but at that point, I wasn't sure.

chinook · 16/08/2009 21:07

Thank you sounds like it might have been my baby then. Think I might have an early night and see if I can encourage more acrobatics.

Sweet dreams

devotion · 16/08/2009 23:17

good evening ladeez

lovely to hear about flutterings, i feel them on night and its almost a week before i feel them again but i guess thats normal until later.

i am totally addicted to watching births on you tube - its great! the first one i watched i was hiding behind my hands screaming (must remember to show my daughters when teenagers ) but then after watching about 20 i acclimatised myself to the whole thing and now i watch them thinking, "ooh that was a good one!"

i am especially addicted to the water births because both time when i got to the hospital with dd's it was full. it looks so nice and the actual delivery looks so much calmer for baby then bright lights all around them.

some of the births were so beautiful, i cried at so many - big wuss!

i had two positive experiences at hospital with lovely midwives but i have to say that with all the hospital birth clips the midwives look so rough with the baby and yank the baby out compared to all the home waterbirths were the babies are allowed to just come out themselves and the mums catch them.

if i get a water birth at the hospital then i will ask if they can allow the baby to come out themselves and not tug them out unless of course they have to.

i recommend you watch you as many as you can as it really makes you feel mentally prepared. i am the kind of person who wants ALL the details beforehand so i know what to expect, my options and how i could do things.

the homebirths look the best and but dh would never let me... ah well!

becks130 · 17/08/2009 11:06

Morning All,

I'm off to France for 2 weeks today so I may be a little quite. I can't believe when I get back I'll be 16 weeks I have such a busy September that time is going to fly!

Well I'll try and check in when I have a chance. I hope evryone's MS eases over the next couple of weeks.

watercress · 17/08/2009 12:15

Hello everyone,

I'm getting those fluttery feelings too, so we can't all have wind!

I was thinking that maybe we need to start a new thread now we have all had our first scans (Due Feb 2010 - the second trimester). I'm so not qualified to do this, but maybe someone could start one and put a redirect on this one? We could all join and add ourselves to a proper up to date due date list...

I'm definitely feeling better. MS is gone, and the tiredness is lifting. I think I'm one of the lucky ones, judging by what lots of people are saying.

Anyway, I'm also going away for a few days, so will go incommunicado. Hope everyone has good weeks!

x

CaractacusPotty · 17/08/2009 17:34

westlondongirl · 20/08/2009 18:00

Hi Ladies. Can I join you? Am due on 27th Feb. Maybe if it's later in the month I should be on the March thread? Had my 12 week scan today and all was good. The ms is starting to calm down now after being awful for 7 weeks. Hope you are all doing well.

Pops78 · 20/08/2009 18:50
