Due Feb 2010

Afternoon,

I can't find a due in Feb thread, but I suppose it's very early still!

Got my BFP on tuesday, with a due date of Feb 3. It's still not quite sunk in - I've had to take another three tests since then just to check

I'm spending far too much time already planning for this baby when I should be working, please tell me I'm not the only one who is completely obsessed. And that I will calm down eventually!

Anyway, would love to chat with some other newly upduffed types.

Ha ha at your dh in the pool on the xbox, raindrop!!
smh&r - glad you've finally got a date for your scan
I'd love a natural home birth too, but it's never going to happen: I have a stupid misshapen pelvis, so not only do my babies present badly but I then have problems getting them out, plus their fecking heads are enormous, plus I have never yet gone into labour and they won't induce someone who's had a section - which I did last time with ds2 because he had a deep transverse arrest (because of my stupid pelvis). But also have had nothing but good care from my local hospital (well except for one night nurse after ds1 was born when I asked for help with bfing and all she did was shove my boob in his gob - which worked, but didn't help me learn how to do it myself!).

What's everyone up to this weekend then? It's pouring with rain here, typical!

becks130 · 01/08/2009 09:22

Morning all,

raindrop, I really want a water birth too, apparently it ease's the sting! I tried with DS but the room with the birthing pool was in use, I was a little annoyed because the lady in it wasn't even having a water birth she just demanded a bigger room

I had SPD with DS and I think it's starting again already, Dr did tell me that this time it could start earlier and be more sever this time

My DS has 2 birthday parties this weekend, so I am taking him today and DH is taking him tomorrow, wouldn't mind but they are nowhere near where we live.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

devotion · 01/08/2009 15:28

Hello everyone

My dd is doing well, she either had swine flu mild or it was something else but she seems totally fine since yesterday just not got her usual energy.

I on the other hand just feel so down. I'll be 15 weeks on Wed and not sure if this tiredness I am feeling is normal.

Right now I am in my pj's, for the last few days everytime I do something like wash the dishes I feel like i need a lie down after it. Its really getting me down and I just feel zapped of life. I can see its irriating my dh - men just will never understand

I should be starting to feel good at this stage like i did with my other two.

raindroprhyme - i can understand where you are coming from.

my dh just wont let me have a homebirth because both times the cord was around their necks (twice with second) and they had to be resusitated. it was very stressful and scary. giving birth to a silent baby and those seconds were you wait to hear they are breathing feels like a life time. he said it was too much for him to take and he would just feel safer at a hospital so i understand.

i'm totally bored and on day four of isolating my dd, even though she is fine they say you should keep them home for five days. we have taken her to big open parks where nobody was there for some fresh air.

so bored and sick of feeling sick and tired.

i need a bath and a kick up the ass and some sympathy from my partner!

MusicalMummyJules · 01/08/2009 18:55

Hey everyone,

How's everyone feeling this weekend?

Good news ish from my front - I had my dating scan on Friday and baby is well, they've now given me an EDD of the 4th February which is 6 days earlier than suggested before. However they also saw a rather large fibroid on my scan - I had to have an internal as well and the sonographer was horrible....

Anyway don't know much about fibroids and wondered if anyone had any experience of them? I was told that I would be under a consultant now, which I am already as I had a c-section in my last pregnancy and also I am more likely to have a c-section with this pregnancy if the fibroid continues to get larger and starts to block the exit route as it were!

Anyone else might be having a planned c-section?

sailors · 01/08/2009 19:03

Hi all, can I join too? Due on Valentine's day, 12 wk scan on Monday . Feeling sick and bleurgh, hoping the hormones will start to abate week 12+

watercress · 01/08/2009 19:26

Welcome to all newbies, and thanks Devotion for your lovely supportive text.

I'm still feeling tired post-flu but am making progress. I didn't have any antivirals, as my GP was reluctant to prescribe them in the first trimester and I said I'd try and manage without (which I did).

DH has decided to take the job that involves much travelling, but oddly I feel better now a decision has been made. Now I feel I can organise myself and DD to fit in with his and my work schedules, and think it may have been the uncertainty that was doing my head in.

Someone asked about elective C-sections. I am to have one this time, because with DD I went over by two weeks, then had a hideous induction/ventouse/tearing scenario. The tear was repaired at the time, but I had to have it re-repaired a year on, so the gynae people have told me very firmly to never attempt labour again. And so far, my GP and midwife agree.

I'm actually fine about it, probably because I had such a difficult time last time round (and for a year or so afterwards - oh, the indignity of it all). I know a C-section isn't an easy option, but it has to be better.

But presumably MusicalMummyJules, they'll be keeping a very close eye on you because of fibroids as well? Surely you'll need extra scans at the very least? And won't they deliver early to ensure you don't go into labour?

watercress · 01/08/2009 19:28

Grr. Obviously I meant to thank Devotion for her nice post, not text! But then I'm just impressed I can manage to get some words in bold! Emoticons are beyond me at the moment...

mawbroon · 02/08/2009 09:40

Musicalmummy, I could well be having another c section, but will wait and see I think.

I have a bi cornuate (heart shaped) uterus, and my ds was breech with his foot stuck by his ear.

If this baby presents the same, then I will probably have a cs. If it presents head down, then who knows?!

threeplusone · 02/08/2009 10:09

Hi all, welcome raindrops and sailors.. sailors you have the same dd as me. 12weeks today ..

I would like a water birth, and was hoping to get one last time, but when we got to the hospital they but me in the firsrt room in delivery suit I thought this was going to be just to check progression then they were going to offer me one of the other rooms but the didnt.. so DS2 was delivered in that room with me on all 4s which i will defo do again. Dont know if it was to do with position but I never fgot that burning sensation when he crowned.

I dont know what type of rooms this hospital has but wont go and have alook till just after christmas probably.

MMJ- glad the scan went well.. sorry to hear about the fibroids I am sure they will keep a close look on you now .

SOmeone was mentioning not allowed to be induced after cseaction.. this is right but they can give you a sweep to see if that works.. it worked for both of my VBACS. After the sweeps both my boys were with me within 36-48hrs of the sweep.

Devotion- glad your DD is getting better.
When I took DS2 tot eh doctors last sunday they said he has all the symptomns of swine flu.. but when he saw the dco he was sure it was somesort of infection and the antibs cleared whatever up.. we are nw back to normal sleepping patterns.. yeah.

I have another scan tommorrow and luckily someone is covering for DH so he can come with me, and variouse friends are looking after the children easer to split the boys up when I am not there..

Then getting ready for our journey back to the uk next friday.. ready to go to spain on the 11th.. I am so looking forward to the shopping in the UK then the hols.. even though I feel and look like a beached whale.. I could say I am more pg than I am..though!!
I will miss my DD as she is not coming on hols with us she said she wanted to go with her dad and is stayong with himtill the 31st August!!!

Becks glad your mind is at rest with the doppler.. I did have one last time one of the summer ones i think. but as I am big anyway was difficult to get the hb until the end.

Is anyone outting there scan piccies on to there pictures on here.. I will if i get a decent one tommorrow.

Watercress- glad you are feeling better, it will be hard at first getting used to the new routine with DH working away, but on the bright side he will be home for weekends and it is only for 3months isnt it.. it will fly by.. but big Congratulations to him getting this job. my DH has just finished his month long course and has informed me he will be away end of sept some of october some of nov, he doesnt know dates and doesnt know for how long good job I am used to it now..

Well off to finish tidying, sorting and cook a roast. hope everyone is ok.. Take care and gl to all theose with scans xx

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 02/08/2009 17:49

hi all,

i would love to have a home birth, tried with DD but my BP raised and they bullied me into a hospital birth,(where i might like to add i had a very quick 20 mins labour there!!!!! with no problems and was home shortly after!!!) this time what will be, will be i am going to try not to bank on anything and then i cannot be disappointed!!!!! (we shall see nearer the time when my hormones are raging and i want something terribly!!!LOL

hope u have all had a good weekend!!!!

Pops78 · 02/08/2009 22:24

Hi All,

Sorry have not been on for ages, was in Ireland for a 5 days for a wedding and to tell my fiance's parents about baby. Whole thing was a major struggle MS wise and didn't help that one of the people we were staying with got swine flu a day in too.

Telling fiance's parents was quite a big deal as they have been very unaccepting of me anyway only conceding to meet me once before in 4 yrs, they are very catholic and we are still not married. They just kept saying why couldn't you wait (what use is that now) and the 1st thing his mum said was 'oh your 3 months thats how far gone I was when I had a miscarriage'. Just generally difficult people. Anyway, glad to be home and off to bed.

threeplusone and sailors - My scan also gave me dd of Valentines day too.

Thought I would refresh the list again for all those whose dates have changed and for the new people to sadd themselves.

Off for my NT scan in a bit.. couldnt sleep last night so nervous.. gone back to thinking all is not well.. must tryto keep positive..
WIll let you know howIget on when we come back..
Goodluck for your scan today sailors.

Hope everyone else is well.

Pops your fiances mother sounds delightful!!!!! The improtant thing is that you your partner are happy and the baby is healthy xx.
FWIW.. when i fell pg with my daughter i was 20.. had been with her day for 3 yrs but my monther hated him and was disgusted that i was pg. She even told me tht she never wanted to see me again as it repulsed her that I was pg. To which I said fine I will go then.. I will have this baby with or with out you or anyone else. She also gave me the choice of my baby or my car.. so I handed her my keys.

She realised no matter what she threatned me with the baby was coming first and I was prepared to do everything alone. (TBH eeven then I knew I would never saty with her father)
IN a way ot brought us closer together. . When I fell pg with DS1 7years later and i was married (newly at this point) she said Oh dear!!!! Oh sorryI mean congrats.. with DS2 I got congratulations..
Then with this one I got OMG... Congrastulations.. but is this the last!!! Which it is seem as DH has already had the snip 2 days before + test.. but saying that hasnt been back for his tests yet.

Sorry about the long rambliong post but hope it makes sense.x

becks130 · 03/08/2009 08:35

Morning all,

My MS seems to have gone but my back is so painful, by morning I can hardly move in bed. I had this with DS and by 16 weeks I had full blown SPD and was unable to walk more that a few meters until after I had him, I'm really not looking forward to it's return. My back didn't start to hurt until 14 weeks last time but the Dr did say that this time it could start earlier
Has anyone else suffered from SPD in more than one pregnancy? Did the symtoms start earlier?

I had the whole of yesterday to myself to do what I wanted but sods law I was full of energy and spring cleaned my kitchen, bathroom and loung, by the time DH and DS came home I was ready for bed!

pops I really feel for you, I was in the same position as you with DS. We were unmarried and DH parents took the news VERY bad, even went as far as saying that I would 'dump' my baby on them as I would never be able to look after a baby We then had to put up with her saying and telling people that we were not a 'proper' family until we finally got married in november last year, we had to put up with it for over 3 years! She also liked to say that we would never last and I would end up a single parent, we have been together for almost 8 years! Jut ignor her and enjoy your pregnancy, as soon as your bundle of joy arrives they will soon change there tune.

I have my scan on Friday and can't wait but still a little nervous, my sister has said that my DS can stay with her on Thursday night so I can go to the cinema with DH to take my mind off it.

I hope MS is starting to ease for most and I hope everyone enjoys this lovely weather today.

becks130 · 03/08/2009 08:38

threeplusone & Sailor good luck with the scans today.

flyingcloud · 03/08/2009 08:45

Hi everyone - fallen off the thread. We need a new thread now we're in a new month - or as soon as everyone is in their second trimester maybe.

I've been getting strange reactions from everyone. Work colleagues, most of whom are friends outside of work have been very muted and even friends have been silent for a few minutes before saying congratulations.

I have a new job and I'm newly married so I'm struggling to take another thing on board as well as the guilt of how it's going to affect my job, but I really thought that once I started telling people it would get a bit better and the reactions to good news would assuage some of my guilt.

This, together with the fact that I am travelling a lot and working 12 hour days at the moment, has made me very emotional. Poor DH and poor LO putting up with a lot from me.

Pops78 · 03/08/2009 10:01

Thanks for your words of comfort guys. We are indeed very happy and frankly fiance's mum is slightly mad and a bit of a witch in my opinion. She was an awful mum and still is e.g. she said to my fiance when I was in toilet that he was probably dyslexic because she had a forcep delivery, you have to laugh at such stupidity...

Flyingcloud - all will be well, people are prob jealous you have got everything going for you...baby, hubby, good job..!

Can anyone advise me, I lost 7lbs in first 2weeks of MS and now at 12+3 have no bump still at all and have put on no weight at all. I did take phenergan doc gave me but it only worked in am and still spent all PM throwing up, do you think I should be worriedand contact doc again. Baby did appear ok on scan last Tues.

esselle · 03/08/2009 11:48

Hello All,

I am finally feeling confident enough to join you here. I am 11+6 and had my 12wk scan today. I am due on 16th Feb, have DD 5yo and DS 20mo.

I didn't join sooner as I felt I would have jinxed myself, having had 2 previous MC just after joining ante natal threads.

Any way enough of the grim stuff - all was looking good on my scan today. Baby was very wriggly and waving loads. I was so relieved to see that there was only one baby in there as DH has been trying to convince me there were twins!!

I feel like I can start enjoying being pregnant now and relax a bit. Amazingly I have had no sickness just extreme tiredness!

I will add myself to the list.

watercress · 03/08/2009 11:55

Welcome Esselle and congratulations!

Flyingcloud, a new thread is a good idea - maybe as we all have dating scans and we can do a new list as we sign up? I think we're going to run out of space on this one anyway! Very strange reactions you're getting to being pg - but as long as you and yours are happy, that's all that matters.

*Pops", I think you should definitely speak to your GP about your continuing vomiting. It sounds very severe, and I wonder if you have hyperemesis gravidarum? It's good that all is well with the baby (and don't worry about the no bump yet - I didn't show at all last time round until 16 weeks), but you must be feeling rubbish.

Becks, sorry you're feeling so bad. I don't know anything about SPD, but it does sound like you need to take it easier.

Good luck with scans today!

HI Scan went well.. cant believe how much the baby has grown in the last 10days. By the scan I have a 1in 2500 for downs and the same for Edwards Syndrome. This figure will change with the bloodtest results.. if they drop the consultant will ring me if not then fine.

Baby i sso lazy both scans it hasnt moved aboutalot.. I am convinced it is another girl as both boys were really active on the early scans.. (how bad am I going to feel if they tell me I am having a boy at the next scan!) Next scan is for 5weeks 8th Sept when I will be 17weeks.. so think I will have another one soon after as 17weeks is a bit early for the anonamaly scan..

Right of for a nap take care all and hope the scans have gone well xx

Great news threeplusone, my babay didn't move too much either, just a bit of wriggling, maybe it's a girl interesting...
