Due Feb 2010

Gidders · 22/05/2009 16:52

Afternoon,

I can't find a due in Feb thread, but I suppose it's very early still!

Got my BFP on tuesday, with a due date of Feb 3. It's still not quite sunk in - I've had to take another three tests since then just to check

I'm spending far too much time already planning for this baby when I should be working, please tell me I'm not the only one who is completely obsessed. And that I will calm down eventually!

Anyway, would love to chat with some other newly upduffed types.

Bobbie, so sorry to hear your news. I hope you are feeling OK and your family and the medics are being supportive.

Like Cat and Scooby I have my scan this morning. I'm absolutely packing it, and haven't slept for the last couple of nights for worry. DH keeps trying to tell me that I haven't had anything to worry about (no bleeding or pain) and ponts to my growing tummy as evidence that all must be well, but I keep reading about MMCs and worry that it all could have gone wrong and I haven't noticed.

Being completely irrational, I know. Ignore me, and I'll report back on my scan later today.

Becks, glad your scan went well (someone else had one as well, but it's on the last page and I've forgotten who-sorry) and good luck fellow scanees today.

Mawbroon, am I going mad or are you a name-changer like me? I need to update the due date list with my new name, and can't see you on there, but think you used to be UnderWraps...

But i could well be going mad! Lack of sleep and all that!

Insanitybecomesme · 10/08/2009 09:24

Becks glad your scan went well, rocket is better than my ds1 who keeps saying thing 1 and thing 2(he is refering to cat in the hat) though I know he is excited about new siblings.

Good luck to everyone with scans this morning I will check back later to see how they went.

TheOldestCat · 10/08/2009 09:36

Watercress - hope your scan goes well too; perfectly normal to worry, but don't let it get too much. I'll also check back later.

Insanity - love 'thing 1' and 'thing 2' from your DS!

scoobyd00 · 10/08/2009 12:35

Well I had my scan this morning and so far so good. They didn't have my blood test results to give me the combined result but everything else looked fine.

The sonographer was awful, really rude and distant. She answered any questions we had with one word and looked very disaproving when I couldn't give her the day of my last period (it was around April time). I explained that I had fertility issues so I didn't ov normally, but she sill tutted at me when I coud only gve her an estimated time of ov. Oh well, at least the little bean is ok, she waved at us and kept jumping up and down!

Watercrss and Cat, how have your scans gone?

becks - glad to see your scan went well and you now have a due date.

added myself again as somehow i had been erased ! got my scan tomorrow am very excited !

watercress · 10/08/2009 14:33

Back from my scan and all is well. Sonographer was lovely (though baby kept leaping around and not cooperating with the measuring part of things), but we had to wait for ages for the scan and the blood test as they were running really late.

Scoobydoo, glad it went well for you (apart from the grumpy sonographer). Good luck tomorrow DrPepper!

mawbroon · 10/08/2009 16:36

Glad all the scans were fine today. I have a full fortnight to wait for mine.....

But i am sure everything is fine because DS's ready brek was making me boak this morning.

tryingtobemarypoppins · 10/08/2009 19:00

Scoobydoo I had a sonographer like that.......takes a little away that special moment doesn't it. You said 'she' do you know your having a girl??!!

Did anyone find out at their scan the gender???

AngelaCarleen · 10/08/2009 19:03

Hi everyone, a bit late to the party I'm afraid, only just found the thread

I had my dating scan today and I'm due on 15th February!!

So excited, this is our first baby, and it feels like it's been a long time coming.

I'm so glad I've now found other people in the same boat as I am (and relieved that some of you are also already sporting bumps!!)

Angela xx

TheOldestCat · 10/08/2009 21:27

Glad to hear the scans went well today watercress and scooby (tho sorry to hear about grumpy sonographer, pah).

Mine was also good - the baby was jumping around lots. Finally feels real...like the 'morning' sickness and indigestion hasn't been enough to convince me.

Welcome AngelaCarleen and congratulations!

devotion · 10/08/2009 23:33

feel bit down tonight had some pain last week that made me double over and since then just now and then, today a nurse checked me out because i've had high blood pressure which has now gone down but i asked the nurse to listen to the babies heart beat (16 weeks on wed) but she could not find it. she spent ages. she said it was just too early.

so now i am all stressed because i've heard on here other people who hear their babies heart beats earlier.

becks130 · 11/08/2009 08:07

Devotion, How are you today? Everywhere I have read says that a heartbeat can't be found in most people by doppler until after 16 weeks so that does sound like it could be right. Try not to worry you have had no bleeding so maybe it's things stretching. Have they asked you to come back?

AngelaCarleen welcome and congratulations!

devotion · 11/08/2009 10:02

good morning
the nurse did not say she was worried but said i should try and see a midwife sooner to see what they think? my midwife is away this and she has booked me in for a 16 week app when i am 18 weeks. at my booking app she put me a week behind what i thought i was and the scan put me a week ahead of what i thought i was so now there is a two week gap.
thanks for your message, i did google and I KNOW you should never google, I kepet seeing 10 weeks but there wer companies who sold them so its probably rubbish.
i hope it was just stretching.

Welcome Angelacarleen

tryingtobemarypoppins · 11/08/2009 10:34

devotion I am sure everything is fine but your worried. Call your GP or midwife team and ask for an Early Pregnancy Unit referal today, shouldn't be a problem, quick scan and your feel better.

Insanitybecomesme · 11/08/2009 10:36

devotion out of four pregnancies only two were heard at 15/16 weeks. One was 17 weeks and one nearly 19 weeks9( my dd was a pain for them to get as she moved into odd positions all the time)

Glad the scans went well

Welcome Angelacarleen and congratulations

flyingcloud · 11/08/2009 10:39

Hi Devotion,

If it's any consolation I have been getting terrible trapped wind (sorry) which comes in waves and spasms that sometimes make me gasp (but never double over with pain). Is there any chance you can pay for a private scan or go to one of those early pregnancy places? I don't really know how it works over there.

Thinking of you and hope you can find something reassuring.

Pops78 · 11/08/2009 12:32

Devotion, so sorry to hear you have worries. I am sure the nurses lack of concern was because pains and not finding heartbeat is typical. Finding the hearbeat is down to experience of person doing it, the position of baby and the quality of the doppler it seems to me. The doc I went to last week couldn't find the heartbeat for love nor money until I cheekily said that he was doing it very diff to last doc who found it at 10.5, he tried how and where I said and it was there immediately. I, however can still not find it on the Angelcare doppler I have at home doing it exactly the same and that says from 10 weeks - I am 14.

Like flyingcloud I have had lots of trapped wind and constipation which at times has been really uncomfortable/painful in that same area as baby. Devotion - I am sure all is well but think for your own reassurance that if you can get a scan or something it's worth it.

Pops78 · 11/08/2009 12:35

whoops, angelsounds doppler, not angelcare. By the way my 25 weeks pg friend also tried my angelcare doppler and coud not find heartbeat so...

Pops78 · 11/08/2009 12:36

fluffy pg head...I just called it angelcare again having corrected myself, I am constantly being ridiculous like this. Tried 6 times to get a sentence out on my b day this Sun and I was the only person who was NOT drunk LOL...

watercress · 11/08/2009 14:53

Welcome Angela and congratulations!

Cat, so glad your scan went well.

Devotion, how are you? As others have said, could the pain have been wind-related? I've had hideous pain that makes me double over in the past (not while pg) and it turned out to be wind.

And try not to worry about the heartbeat. My MW tried at 10 weeks, but said it was really unlikely before 16-18 weeks, and added that her doppler wasn't very good at all. I think if you can get it earlier than that (my mw said that she'd have a go again at 16 weeks but wasn't optimistic so it sounds how imprecise it all is), it's just luck.

I hope by now you've managed to get to an EPU for a reassurance scan. Let us know, we're all worried about you.

devotion · 11/08/2009 22:17

hello all

thanks for your kind messages, i'm sure the pain was wind and it was def not constipation as i go twice a day and sometimes even three!

i left a message this morning on the community mw careline, by the afternoon i had heard nothing so called again and managed to speak to someone who said she would get someone to call me back??? and nothing!

think thats pretty rubbish especially as i called and said i was worried!!!

anyway, no pain today which is good and i know i am probably only 15 weeks even though the baby measures 16 weeks i know its not possible as i know all of the dates we had sex in May. I want to try and put myself back to 15 weeks when i speak to mw because i dont want to be induced - heard that makes labour more painful. I've had two natural ones and would like a third natural.

i will try again tomorrow. i think there is a walk in centre at St Georges in Tooting where you can get a scan but i dont want to feel like i am being silly wand wasting valuable time for other mothers who need one more. if i had never asked for nurse to listen to the heartbeat then maybe i would not be feeling like this?

but can i wait two weeks before i have my next app is the problem?

thank you all for messages. i know i am over reacting and would only say all this on here. i have not mentioned it to anyone else.

i love mumsnet

welcome all newbies, sorry for all me "me me me" threads

TheOldestCat · 11/08/2009 22:27

Devotion - you're not over-reacting, you were worried and experiencing pain. It's a bit poor that the MW didn't call you back.

Anyway, glad to hear you've not had pain today. But if you're still worried, why not go to the walk-in centre for some reassurance tomorrow?

Let us know how you are.

Hope everyone's feeling ok today. I told work our news, which was lovely as everyone was so pleased and excited.

Pops78 · 12/08/2009 08:02

Devotion I went to st georges epu at 6.5 just anxious. They were great did not question my need for check at all. You need to get skates on though because my recollection is walk in only from 8.30 to 11 and u want to be early as poss as they get v busy apparently. I was seen within 20 mins but was there at 8.20. If u decide to go for reassurance good luck.
