emmabemmasmom · 30/04/2009 09:08

Morning ladies

Well I finally had a decent nights sleep! Ohhh I needed that. I did wake up to go to that bathroom once and had a very sharp and aweful pain in my back. Was to tired to care and just went back to sleep lol

Off to see the midwife here soon. Could only get an appointment when DD was suppose to go for a nap so I am not thrilled and hope she is going to be cool with staying up a bit later. Oh well...

Oh and I had the last magnum last night lol oh well...I will be good today...promise

Jael good luck today! Hope all goes well and can't wait to see your LO

Welcome home Looby!! How's Matilda doing??

I was so tired yesterday after only getting 2 hours sleep on Tues night. Mum came down and she put ds to bed and got him up this morning for school. She's taken him to school and will be licking him up at 2 and then taking him to her house for at least one 'sleep over'. So I'll not see him now until after bump is born... .

I was over tired going to bed last night and found it very hard to sleep. I woke bright and breezy and wondered why it was still so dark outside --- 3:32am that's why!!! Managed to get back to sleep. One good thing though, it was the first night I hadn't been plagued with running to the loo all night .

Any how, bath is now run for a lovely soak. I think my bags are all packed and ready to lift and go. Ive to be in hospital today for 4pm to get a gel at 6pm...!!! Can't really believe that tomorrow I'll have a baby girl in my arms!!! So exciting!!!!!. But still can't come up with THE name for her... - Harriette????

LoobyLou36 · 30/04/2009 09:25

i have given up trying 2 read thro and catch up - 2 tired!

MW coming again 2 day to weigh Matilda

BF going better - just hope we don't have 2 go back to hospital

wound sore and seeping
dh went back to work 2day so i plan to chill out with M and rest in my pj's

congrats to all the new arrivals

LoobyLou36 · 30/04/2009 09:27

M had a very stressful night - just hope i've fed her enough

Jennster · 30/04/2009 09:46

looby Relax. Lots of skin to skin, feed as much as she wants and if you are in any pain at all please get your latch checked. Preferably by a peer supporter of a group. Sounds like you're doing fine.

Fast Post-natal Recovery and birth music on a cd. I've copied this CD for Frazz and did a couple of copies extra. If anybody wants one just let me know. I don't want any money, but if you would like to donate to my sisters Marathon fund for Cancer Research UK then I'm sure she would be grateful. I'm not sure of her exact time, but it was under 5 hours. She really wanted around 4 but with a hip problem and the weather being so good, she didn't manage it.

Tummum · 30/04/2009 09:58

Looby ((hugs)) to you and M. I ditto Jenn's advice - you are doing really well persevering with the BF and I am sure that M (fab name BTW) will let you know when she is hungry. You make sure you stay in those PJs all day and relax and chill as being on your own with LO at first can be really daunting.

Divedaisy can't believe you are going in tonight ! Eeek! Good luck.I reckon you will probably have a pretty fast labour after your experiences this week, so looking fwd to some birth announcements tomorrow.

I am going to MW this morning, and hopefully get a sweep (I can't believe I am hoping someone will prod my cervix - strange wishing eh ) to find out whether I am anywhere near giving birth. As of tomorrow I will be officially overdue

FiKelly · 30/04/2009 10:29

looby great to hear you're back home and try to rest as much as pos when M does. glad bf going better. good luck with the mw later. I think you're doing great! fi xoxox

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 30/04/2009 10:31

Looby Yay you're home, yay Matilda's gorgeous!!!!! Boo to wound being seepy. Oh, she is a lovely baby . Try and relax and chill in PJ's - BFing can be difficult at first (I struggled with DD2 until I asked for help!!).

Divedaisy oooh best of luck, baby girl to cuddle soon!!!!!

Tummum - hope the sweep goes well.

Fi I hope Douglas improves, my dog sends licks to him probably (although if I'm honest, she'd be more likely to cower in terror - she's scared of everything)

Frazz - Birth fashion? I will be wearing the latest Tesco peachy coloured nightie but if I were to give birth in water, I might suggest a vest top or 'Tankini' top? Actually, if truth be told, I'll probably end up wearing nowt. As detsy said, at that stage, who cares?

Miss chocbunnies - relax for tomorrow!!!!

Off to lay down for a bit, DD2 has given me hideous snotty, throaty cold.

sophietom · 30/04/2009 10:32

Looby welcome back

Congrats to llareggub Jenn I really didn't feel like aqua natal this week- woke up feeling rubbish/lazy so stayed home feeling sorry for myself instead- I'll be there next week though

Have had dodgy stomach since last night- everything I eat goes straight through and I am getting crampy stomach pains I think my IBS has returned (it magically vanished at the start of pg and I was hoping I was cured) hhmmph!

Good luck Tummum- hope you get your sweep
Divedaisy how exciting- hope it all goes well today

FiKelly · 30/04/2009 10:43

my mw didn't mention/ask if I would consider a sweep. I'm not seeing her again until just before my due date.. wonder if I should mention/ask about it? think maybe start with dh induction first.. I think he's looking forward to it as he's mentioned letting me rest as much as possible over weekend so I'll be up for it next week! lol

flippineck · 30/04/2009 10:43

Looby - welcome home! And huge congratulations. Sounds like you are doing well with the feeding too, another vote for Jenn's advice, stay in bed/on the sofa all day and cuddle, feed whenever. Make sure you take it easy - don't take any notice whatsoever of little jobs that need doing in the house, they can wait.

divedaisy - tonight, how exciting!

FiKelly · 30/04/2009 10:55

can't believe there'll be 3 more babies before we know it!

re water birth.. I fancied one and planned to wear a bikini/tankini top. but had a feeling I'd prob end up starkers as in the water I wouldn't feel as vulnerable or prob wouldn't care a jot when time comes anyway. I'm not allowed a water birth so I've got a long ish black camisoles and a longish black t shirt to choose from.. but I fully expect I'll no doubt end up naked as I can see the clothes becoming annoying at some stage. gee I used to be such a prude.. i won't even go topless on the beach! when did the idea of being naked for the birth suddenly become ok?! lol

FiKelly · 30/04/2009 11:06

our new flooring is well underway and the coving guys are in too.. douglas is being pampered at my mums for the day so we're trying to stay out of the way. i'm keeping ds occupied in our lounge with doing puzzles & making tents etc. between making multiple teas and coffees.

divedaisy · 30/04/2009 11:28

just out of the bath!! trying to avoid all unnecessary housework - whats the point of stressing about uncleaned skirting boards now!??

Looby - the one thing I learnt from having ds and will be implementing this time is... do not try to be 'Super Mum' and try and do everything (ie housework, baby etc etc). To save your energy and sanity you need to look after you and baby as priority. Get your rest - sleep when she does. Have plenty of PJ days too!! If you need cleaning done ask friends or family for a bit of help! Enjoy Matilda (love the name!) - she'll only be this size for a little time! Take plenty of photos (not that I have to tell you!)!!

Re birth fashion - I'm wearing an-about-5-seasons-ago grey John Rosha nightie that is ready for a meeting with the bin!! If I was to hve a water birth I think I'd wear a vest top/tankini, but to be honest I think it soon would comme off if it annoyed me! There's something very free and liberating about the birth process !

ANy news about Jael?? so exciting!

Wonder how Miss Chocbunnies dress fitting went yesterday!!!!??? Oh - so exciting! It's all happening!!

OP posts:
chocolatebunnies · 30/04/2009 11:36

FiKelly · 30/04/2009 11:52

chocolatebunnies have a fantastic day tomorrow.. it will go by so quickly.. try occasionally to stop and take a moment to take it all in and capture a memory or 2! have a great day and look forward to seeing all your pics..

petal68 · 30/04/2009 11:56

Hi all,

I wondered if i could join in with you all - I've been reading for a little while but things move so fast that I cant seem to keep up enough! It would be nice to talk to folk going through the same things as most of my real life friends have been through all this some time ago!

I'm due 12th of May and this is my third - I have a DS aged 11 and a DD aged 10. This is my husband's first and he is panicking a bit about labour - not sure how he is going to cope as he is a bit of a worrier!

Can I ask if everyone has done a birth plan yet - community midwife hasnt mentioned it and not sure if I just do it and put it in my notes or not. My memory from last time is a bit blurred!

Look forward to talking to you all

FiKelly · 30/04/2009 11:57

leave the skirting boards alone divedaisy! you'll need your energies for later.

emmabemmasmom · 30/04/2009 11:59

Looby Welcome home! I bet it feels nice to be in familar surroundings again Enjoy your little baby. She is so cute by the way!

choco Good luck tomorrow! I am sure it will be a day to remember in more ways than one. Glad you are loving your dress now. Always thought it was a lovely dress anyway

dive good luck to you too later today! I am sure it will all go great and you are doing the right thing by relaxing. May be your last chance for awhile so enjoy!

I am just back from the midwife and pleased to announce that my size has expanded and I am right on schedule now and no longer small. Makes me feel a lot better! Also, baby is fully engaged so I guess it could be any minute now for me! I text DH and I think he started to panic. He has text back about 5 times asking how I feel...oh bless lol

Off to devour some left over pizza lol Just hope DD stops talking in her bed and actually sleeps

emmabemmasmom · 30/04/2009 12:03

And welcome Petal Thanks for joining in the fun!

I also have not filled in my birth plan. Eeek...should probably do that. My midwife did bring it up but when I told her what I wanted she just said 'So nothing unusual then...' I said 'ummm no I guess not'...she made a note and that was the end of that! Still would like to write something down though I suppose. Also, there is something nice about writing it down and picturing how the day will go. Calming in a way

Anyway...welcome

ladyhelenatealltheeggs · 30/04/2009 12:16

Congratulations llare.Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Welcome back looby and well done again on little Matilda.

Good luck to jael but she's prob well under way now.

choco good luck tomorrow. Enjoy it. Take it all in as it will go so fast! And you will look divine in that beautiful dress.

petal hello and welcome. Birth plan. Hmmm. My plan says go with the flow. And thats it. I can't think about what I really want in terms of the birth as all I want is a baby! I'll just see what happens I think. I would prefer not to have a CS but if that becomes necessary then so be it.

Had a MW check yesterday.baby is still 2/5 as it has been for the last 2 weeks. Was so sure 2 weeks ago that this meant something would happen soon, especially as this is my 2nd. Ho hum.

FiKelly · 30/04/2009 12:22

hi petal lovely to have you.. don't worry about keeping up.. even the regulars struggle some days! I have written my birth plan.. but only as I was seeing the consultant the next day! my plan is more of a will generally go with the flow on the day but definitely don't want an induction and do want to have dh with me at all times..
