Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
silkcushion · 29/04/2009 19:15

Thanks Belgian.

Feel a bit ashamed of myself as she and I are rl friends and I completely forgot the date and didn't wish her well

My excuse is that I'm so pg I can't remember anything.

emmabemmasmom · 29/04/2009 19:17

belgian lol my DH always does that too but he seem to just catch the nipple (ouch!)

Because mine are so big my bump looks very small from my point of view. Nice tidy little thing poking out just a bit...but ohhh nooooo. Walking in town today I caught myself in a window and nearly fell over. I am HUGE and I don't mean just pregnant huge...but HUGE!!!!! When did this happen?????

Wish my DH would do his job He has backed off in the last week. I think he is nervous as his dad is going on holiday on the 5th so he does not want anything to happen until after the 12th...but I mean come on...I have needs!! lol You are putting your rabbit away but I may have to dig mine out if the strike does not end soon...

Tummum · 29/04/2009 19:22

Well, my evening has not improved with DD2 poo-ing in the bath... that she was sharing with DD1

Actually, it has cheered me up. I found it quite funny. Not sure why, 'twas pretty grim to have to sort out and bathroom stinks of dettol now AND I will have to try to do hair-washing again tomorrow ! (At least I didn't start to try hair-washing with the water... uggghh)

Emmabsmom I hate you again . You keep reminding me of lovely food that I have to eat in my current condition! I had forgotten about the Magnum in the freezer. It's calling to me now. Why do they sell them in packs of 3?? It's just not fair I might have to eat the last one quickly whilst DH is slaving over the lawnmower in the back garden !

Belgianchocolates · 29/04/2009 19:35

emmab Lol at your being surprised at the size of yourself. I keep getting people commenting on how 'tiny' I look. I just smile, but I could tell them the result of my growth scan and give them a shock (it's supposed to be about 9 1/2 lbs by next week).

Tummum My dd went through a pooing in the bath stage when she was first potty trained. My theory is that it was a bit come comfortable for her, you know like having a water birth

Today dd was examining herself down below while getting dressed after swimming and pointed to her clitoris asking me what it was. I didn't really know what to say, so I just said, well it's a part of you Luckily she then got distracted by something and left it all alone. It's a tricky body part to explain, isn't it.

Febes · 29/04/2009 19:41

Hi new thread new baby what a lovely day(congrats llare). I have 1 more day now and it can't come soon enough I'm tired and sore now. This baby is taking way too much room inside me.

Spangle- Harvey is totally gorgeous. DH and I first had a go when DD was 3 weeks old but after that it was few and far between until after a bit of a flurry when she was 8 month knocked me up again and its been pretty sparce since then.

Rabbits I took my 2 battery operated friend home to NZ on our last trip after we got married 6 years ago and left them in my drawer at home when we came back to the UK. My mum kindly went through my drawers and I think she threw them out as they weren't there when I went home last year. Both of us never mentioned it though .

Dandy Sounds exciting hope you are ok.

Belgianchocolates · 29/04/2009 19:46

febes Your rabbit story keeps reminding me that every time we go to visit Belgium my mum finds DH's pants in the bed somewhere. Actually come to think of it visiting relatives abroad is the best way to kick start the dead post baby sex life I've discovered. I think it's because we're always a bit more relaxed down there, you know it's like being on holiday, having a few drinks, no cooking or washing, etc...

Better go up and help my mum with putting the dcs to bed. They'll want me up there, though I'm too sore to walk at the moment, let alone do stairs.

Febes · 29/04/2009 19:53

Belgian I think the idea that you have to keep quiet and hide it from your parents kind of put the thrill back into it. DH and I had a bit of afternoon delight on one of our trips home and my dad nearly walked in on us after the phone had rung for us. I had to shout ok thanks don't come in!! So it was totally obvious what we were up to.

bekkaboo · 29/04/2009 20:02

Congrats Llare!! What great news.

Can i ask quick questions for you experts out there, is it the norm for babys head to be engaged at 37+ weeks in 2nd pregnanacy? I was checked monday and 4/5 now 3/5 today. I didnt think they engaged until labour?

Been up last 2 nights with constant backache and niggling, BP shot up monday but was back to normal after few hours. Im wondering if I could be in slow early labour?

Please come talk to me!! Im cacking it! Booked in for CS week on Friday

pulapula · 29/04/2009 20:13

bekkaboo- my DS (2nd pg) was engaged at 36 weeks (he was transverse until 34 weeks too and got himself into position and i was booked for elcs too). I was worried about him coming early, but I think if labour starts, you just contact the hospital and go in for an emcs (unless its like emmalina and there isn't time GULP).

I am getting lots of BH, I've got swollen feet/ankles, feel sick a lot, and baby is definitely low down but i'm not too stressed that my elcs is still 3 weeks off- what will be will be, as all the brave ladies on this thread have shown me, as quite often, things don't go as planned and everyone has coped so well

runningmonkey · 29/04/2009 20:14

Congrats llare hope you and lo are ok x x

bekka no advice to offer I'm afraid sorry

Hope all are ok and sending good vibes dandy, gert and jael's way

Off to spend quality evening with dh ;)

took me a while to realise we were here already!

congrats to llareggub and yay her VBAC was ok.

think it was tummum who mentioned looby? i posted a quick update yesterday on our previous thread. for those that missed it.. I've been texting her with our news and although she and matilda were out of hospital she had to go back in yesterday for observation as matilda had lost 10% of her birth weight. her cs wound is sore and she's been struggling with establishing bf.A bit of a rough start to new motherhood but I think we've all been there. said we'd be here for when she's able and ready to come online.

douglas dog has a new plan of action from the vet. she's swapping his tablets and putting him on a specialist diet.. to hopefully build him up a bit. if he continues to lose weight at the same rate though she said it's not going to be good news. but we're not out of all options yet. so that conversation is a couple of weeks away it seems.

pulapula it was funny reading my list again and I've yet to pack ds's overnight bag.. been putting it off until the work is finished in the flat. we're in too much chaos and I've on where to put another bag! my hospital and labour bags are done though. with all these early arrivals I was spurred into action!

I'm really desperate for a soak in the bath.. but not allowed in bathroom tonight so feeling of everyone elses!

Momino · 29/04/2009 20:52

hi all.
great news about llareggub, well done! So excited for all the babies arriving.

Fi, glad there's another option for Douglas, at least you don't need to make a big decision at this moment.

jael, sure you're not 'here' but if you are reading, good luck tomorrow.

all ok here but defn no labour action. Sister has arrived and we're relaxing right now chatting. i'll come back on later.

hope all you I've not addressed directly are doing well. xx

bekkaboo · 29/04/2009 20:53

Quiet on here toight ladies, is everyone huffing and puffing away?

I uess must be just baby preparing for the decent! But cant help feeling more happening, If i do start before ELCS date and im going see how I go, not going rush off straight away. Ill just see how it all goes x

flippineck · 29/04/2009 20:59

llaregub - well done! Looking forward to hearing the full story.

emmabemmasmum - I'm with you and the permanent huge boobs/small bump thing! When I look down, my bump doesn't look huge but side on, wowee! I've always had big boobs, and even after I lost 2.5 stone they only went down to a 32F. I'm up to a 36G now and expecting to get bigger once the BF starts.

dandy - sounds like an interesting trip to hospital, good news that everything seems to be progressing well!

Re public breastfeeding - was definitely a bit self conscious to begin with, but soon got over that bit and was almost itching for people to comment so I could argue with them ! I stopped feeding DD in public when she got to about 11 months I think, but mainly because she was getting really nosy and used to turn her head to look at stuff without letting go of my nipple and would stretch my boobs! I stopped BF completely when she was 16 months so that I could get pregnant this time (wasn't happening at all when I was BF, even when it was down to one feed a day).

FiKelly · 29/04/2009 21:03

bekka I never experienced any labour with ds as had an elcs and as far as baby engaging 2nd time around.. my mw said it was fairly common for baby to not engage until the last min.. but that doesn't mean that it's not equally possible for them to engage before due date!

flippineck · 29/04/2009 21:06

fi - good news about the new plan for Douglas, really hope it works for you both.

re the list - it's really useful to see it again, I think I've got everything packed just in case the hb doesn't work out but I'l go and check again. Need to pack a bag for DD too, but most of the stuff she'll need in the bag is stuff that she uses every day anyway, iyswim, so we'll just have topack it at the last minute.

FiKelly · 29/04/2009 21:11

dandy it was better to be checked out.. even if it did turn out to not be happening just yet. I've no signs of anything yet.. but will be keen to get things going when the work in the flat is finished on friday! so upping the raspberry tablet dose to full recommended from then

FiKelly · 29/04/2009 21:16

flippin that's the other prob.. I daren't pack anything ds would miss! I have made a list to follow when the time comes.. as I may not be v with it..

Jennster · 29/04/2009 21:32

Yay llar well done.

Blotted your bakewell cake is in the oven as we speak.

I've just eaten a big bowl of strawberries and had a shower. Dh has just done a practice run on the birth pool, and the carpet I picked up from freecycle is perfect. Just need to Milton the inside of the pool and let it down.

euromum · 29/04/2009 21:38

Wow, I think I have missed about 3 threads since the last time I managed to join in! No hope of catching up but am trying to get a post in early on this one and will hopefully stick around a bit more.

Anyway, big CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has had their babies already, I can't believe how many there seem to be already! And good luck to those who are due soon. Very exciting!

For my part I still have 4.5 weeks to go (due 30 May) and am actually hoping this one will be late, as we are desperately trying to get the renovations on our house finished in time. Currently staying with my FIL which is fine but would be a disaster with newborn as well, plus I really really just want to go home and settle in a bit before baby arrives. So I am reading everyone's comments about poss labour signs and hoping you are all wrong and it's false alarms so that I don't have to start worrying about mine arriving promptly too.

Also having trouble avoiding ice creams (and chocolate bars, and biscuits - have developed a vv sweet tooth), whoever it was trying to resist the last magnum. Good luck...

And add me to the list of those fed up with massive boobs. Mine were already 30FF when I was a size 8/10 and now at size 10/12 they are just unmanageably enourmous. Must get them measured sometime soon for nursing bras, even though I really don't want to know!

OK, off to bed if little ds will stop wriggling around and poking me in the bladder long enough to let me fall asleep. Till soon I hope this time!

flippineck · 29/04/2009 21:42

I have got really really hot feet tonight, very odd! And LO seems to be trying to kick its way out of the top of my bump. All set for a good nights sleep .

Hello euromum!

euromum · 29/04/2009 21:50

Hello flippineck! Guess we're all suffering with rib-kicking then! And I have hot feet all the time - have been tempted to just start wearing my sandals all day but dh is mocking me enough at home in the evenings as it is. So supportive!

Right I really am going to bed! Will be following closely to see who's next - quick skimming of recent posts has given me the impression that we could be surrounded by new babies at any moment! Thank goodness am on mat leave, can check in regularly. But dd will wake me up at 7 anyway so MUST go to sleep NOW. Inability to stop talking once I've started is in fact prob the main reason I don't post more often . Night all.

FiKelly · 29/04/2009 21:59

re boobs I've been a HH/J since having ds.. and my bf bras were a 34k/L depending on the brand. I've been wearing and pretty much filling those for some time now.. so waiting to see what happens to my cup size after milk comes in as it's highly likely I'll need specially altered to fit bras or made to measure as cup sizes go no higher than L . I'm quite enjoying that my boobs look small in comparison to my bump & when I look down I feel I look kinda like buddha!
