Thank you for the positive messages. Can't remember who all said something. I know I will love this baby with all my heart and I am sure once she is here I will wonder how I ever lived without her. I love being a mother and there is nothing more rewarding. I do not know what I would do without DD. I am sure I will feel the same with this one, but I am still worrying. I think I would rather she just come already so I can stop wondering how it will be! DH is going to have his 2 weeks paternity leave which is great as he only had a week last time.

I am having some pains today. Nothing to bad and not regular. I am all showered and dressed to go to town, but now I am nervous. DH is working today and I don't want to be out and about on my own just incase. Feel bad keeping DD in the house so much though...don't know what to do!

Congrats on new babies!!!! Oh it is getting so real now Hope these pains produce a baby for me soon lol Although I know there are a lot of you due before me so lets get those babies out

Sorry for those of you who are feeling fed up/emotional/irratable ect. I am feeling the same. Think it is just hormones getting us ready for birth. One min I want to cry, then yell, then laugh, then sleep, then cry again lol Hope everyone can enjoy the last few days before LO's come

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/05/2009 09:58

Awwwww Gert and baby Edith ('twas going to be DD2's name after her great-nana, but she looked more like an Evie - hence Eve ) and dive and baby Sofiah.

I'm so happy for you ladies and yet so .

Morning momi and tummum, how are you ladies today? Sending labour vibes your way.

I have had no indications of baby ever being ready, loads of BH's but I've been having those for weeks.

And blotted (queen of cake blogs, obv! DH ate all of the jaffa cake yesterday) I've had those weird 'breathing' movements too - defo not hiccups. They're really rather sweet, aren't they?

I will have to do proper meet 'n' greet later - Tang Soo Do shortly and then ferrying children to social engagements for most of the day.

Momino · 02/05/2009 10:13

morning ladies.
guess what happened early this morning [smug yet tired emoticon]?

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/05/2009 10:15

Blottedcopybook · 02/05/2009 10:21

Momino is a total wind up merchant, isn't she! I'm guessing that either you got pumped, or your waters broke.

I am so jealous. I'm only 36w2d and I still have AAAAAAGES before my due date

Tummum · 02/05/2009 10:22

Make up??!! What's that? Oh yes, I remember

Come on then Monimo !!!!!!

Belgianchocolates · 02/05/2009 10:23

Morning everyone,

First of all: congrats divedaisy! 8 due in may babies already. I can't believe how quick it's all going. DH wants me to meditate today on going into labour . I don't think that'll work

grumpy what's Tang Soo Do?

sleeping Personally I find that for the 1st 6 weeks or so you just have to do whatever it takes to get some sleep. My ds was did not like the carry cot or normal cot, day and night. After a few days we choose to bed share and we did that for a good 6 weeks. After that I gradually weaned him off it, i.e. starting the night in his own bed and not taking him in until later. By 4 months he was in his own room, though he didn't actually sleep through until, brace yourself, 3.5 yo. I am 100% convinced you can't spoil a newborn baby, you can't hold them too much, keep them close enough. A lot of my older relatives kept telling me I was making a rod for my own back by almost constantly holding ds, but it was the only way to keep him settled half the time, especially when we were out and about. I proved them wrong when he outgrew the newborn stage and became a happy non-clingy older baby . They also used to be annoyed when I refused to let him be picked up or passed around when he was asleep. But why wake a peacefully sleeping baby. That's just asking for trouble! Dd was very different and she was one of those babies who actually disliked being cuddled or held when asleep, so she liked her own cot day and night from the very beginning. Anyway, that's my opinion and experience on babies and sleeping. I don't think there's a right and a wrong way, all you can do is find out what works for you to survive those first few months.

Aargh, while writing my long essay on sleeping I missed Momi's teasing post. What exciting thing happened??? TELL US!!!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/05/2009 10:26

Morning Belgian!!

Tang Soo Do is a martial arts thing that DD1 does - it's a bit like Tae Kwondo? It's really good for her self-confidence and teaches self-discipline.

sophietom · 02/05/2009 10:30

Congratulations to Gert2a and Divedaisy
