Afternoon all... have just updated the lists...

Diege.... 32 weeks??? if you were in my pregnancy you'd be giving birth today- how odd is that??!! As for my sling, its a 'celeb sling' off ebay, only £20 and i love it!! I'm selling my premaxx now because its so good, especially as it fits her in so well even though she's tiny!! And have tried DD1 in it in the hip sling position and could even carry her in it no probs and she's 3yo!!

Kayz- Glad you had a good weekend!!

Moosy- as everyone else has said the sickness is a good sign... believe it or not i've worked out i only had 9 sick free weeks while pregnant with Ruby, but i havde honestly forgotten how bad it was already!!

LB- hope DS starts to keep a bit more milk down him soon... it must be a worry, but as Nat says the dry lips and other signs are what you're looking for in dehydration. Mat still be worth contacting the GP or someone in the know... maybe there's something he can have other than gaviscon??

Sorky.... High School Musical!!! Surely your girls are mad too?? both DS and DD1 are mad on it!!!

Hi anyone else i've missed... trying to concentrate but DH and DS are pleying sonic on the wii and i'm loosing my train of thought!!

As for me, had a wander round a car boot with DC's and sisters yesterday, picked up a few little bargains, including a stunning DKNY dress for DD1 for only £1.50...

Then this morning went to 3 different car boots with DH and the DC's, again got some more little bargains, a lovely John Rocha coat for DD1, loads of 3-6 next clothes for DD2, and some more video's for the DC's to watch at bedtime... and spent less than £10 today!!

SORKY, can't I even tempt you with a tiny bit of TMI about mr.C??
Thanks for updating my weeks GLASK! Have also checked out the sling you got on e-bay, and think I will order one. They look fab!
MOOS, I'll be interested to hear what your GP says about the vit B thing. Was always a plan to try myself, but got confused about quantities etc. Hopefully your gp is a bit more enlightened than mine who just looked at me blankly and told me to take gaviscon (before my midwife took control and I got proper meds).
Can't wait till they're in bed tonight. dh has been in bed all day with stomach bug and my back is killing me handling the daily grind single-handedly! Only 3 more 5.30am starts left!!!

sorkycakey · 26/04/2009 19:52

Oh, high school musical...
None of us have seen it! Is it good?

It doesn't surprise me that they don't know of it though, none of mine knew who Beckham was

Starshinetiger · 26/04/2009 21:28

Just a quick post today - been over west to PIL for family meal - MIL 60th, their 40th wedding anniversary and BIL announced he had proposed last night - so all round celebrations.

LB - could not read and leave without posting. I had a very sicky baby in DS - question mark over pyloric stenosis, but they decided severe reflux in the end - he was sick all the time and after about week 6 wasn't putting on weight because he couldn't keep enough down. We ended up with him hospitalised to monitor and then put on meds by docs and formula top ups of a special hypoallergenic formula - worked wonders. Know you've been doing great guns on bf and DS has been putting on weight, so not the same and I don't want to scaremonger, but just to say that when i think back to it now, I can't believe the HVs and GP let him get so skinny and fontanelle so dipped, just saying "all babies posset" - I should have made more fuss. So, don't be afraid to ring NHS or to go A&E. Make sure your concerns are heard as you as his mother know best.

It isn't always the case, but there are a lot of links between dairy intolerance and reflux (hence why DS was put on hypoallergenic formula). Again, not always the case, but I know there have been MN threads on here in the past linking them. You could try cutting all dairy out of your diet to see if it helps, but it will take up to 7 days to clear your system and you have to be religious about it - read ingredients on everything and have nothing in that has any dairy in it.

Must stress - I don't want to scare you, only share my experience. Your DS might be very different, but please don't hesitate to contact the health professionals if you're concerned - you pay your NI, you're entitled and that is what they are there for. Do you have an out of hours GP service - ours for our county is fab, we had to call them re. DS earlier in the year when he had suspected water infection and was in agony on a weekend and they called back straight away and got us antibiotics diagnosed - if you have such a service, they are an alternative route for you if you don't want to trek to A&E. HTH
Hope you have a good night - am off to bed myself.

Diege I posted packet over the weekend

We have poorlies here and little sleep

and the sun has gone...what a miserable start to the day

NatalieJane · 27/04/2009 09:36

Morning

Tink, oh my cheese music is much cheesier than HSM! I am talking severely gone off stinky cheese! Am not even going to admit to what we were bopping away to yesterday and this morning it has nothing on Ghostbusters!! Am sure our neighbours will have decided to never come near again!

Diege, You still banging on about Simon? You can keep your mucky dreams to yourself young lady! And sorry, despite having feet the size of small whales with each pregnancy, I never found a way of getting them down, in fact the only time they got slightly better was with Mikey when I was in hospital with the flu and strapped to the bed, I didn't move off it except for toilet breaks for 3 days and they did go down slightly.

Those of you with MP3 players, do you just use the head phones? (I can't be doing with them myself!) or do you have a dock doings thing? DH has put this one we bought through my stereo so it is coming out of the stereo speakers, but, as good as my stereo is (it has to be, can not stand tinny crappy sound!) because the MP3 will only go so loud, I have to have the stereo at almost full blast to get even a quiet sound out, and I can't turn it up anymore We were talking about getting a dock when I get the ipod one, but the sound quality out of the ones we've seen is just dire. So then we started looking at stereo systems with some way of playing MP3's through it, either docking the MP3 on it, or even one with a slot to put a memory card in or something, and such a thing doesn't seem to exist, there does seem a few that you can link up to the MP3 player, but we're doing that now so it won't gain us anything IYKWIM?

I want to have loud(-ish!) cheesy music! It's my only stumbling block at the moment, the level it's playing at now is fine for every day, but like yesterday, sunny afternoon/evening, we're outside, wine o'clock was brought forward to 5, and I just wanted to turn it up a bit, but it wasn't doing

NatalieJane · 27/04/2009 09:38

Oh sorry for poorlies Sorky, everyone here is better except Mikey, he's still doing the yukky nappies, but he's OK other than that! Hope you get some improvment soon

I've had a rubbish few days . It looks as though I may have made a small mistake at work - it wouldn't usually be a big deal but it has just unfortunately happened in a way that has caused quite a lot of hassle. Luckily my boss and workmates have been really good about it - it was one of those stupid little mistakes anyone could make - but I am feeling really bad about it anyway. In addition DP had an interview last week and although it went well they admitted they don't have official sign off for the post so the job might not actually start for 6+ months. I was really really hoping it would go better and he could move up here soon and now it just feels we are back to square 1. I'm don't usually let these things get to me - def an optimist and just get on with looking for a solution - but I think I have a big dose of pregnancy hormones and spent most of Friday evening in tears (poor DP was totally lost, he's not used to me just sitting crying bless him). I just want to curl up in bed for a week and not have to think about any of it . On top of everything I'm worrying that me feeling so down and tense isn't good for the baby plus I hate it that DP and my mum are worrying about me. Sorry to offload , just needed to get it off my chest.

Oh IDOB, sorry it's all getting to you
Sounds like maybe a cuppa and chocolate could be required.

Nat I meant to ask, has the finances improved? You sound a lot more upbeat!
Hurray for cheese, how cheesey are we talking here? Hounded shamefully outta the Wagon cheese?

tinkisnotenjoyingtherain · 27/04/2009 10:25

sorkey - hope you get better soon

nat - hi nothing wrong with cheese

idofb - we r always here to chat. sorry to hear that things arent working out how youd like. sure it is just hormones.

glaskham · 27/04/2009 10:47

Sorky- sorry for poorly's!! Hope you're all better soon...

IDOB- its normal for things to feel 10x worse when PG but it will all sort itself out in good time i'm sure!! That job for your DP was only one job... i'm sure there will be plenty more he can apply for and soon enough he'll get offered one!! Chin up, and enjoy the brownies!!

Nat- glad you all seem to be improving, sure Mikey will follow you all on recovery very soon!!

I had an awful night with DD2, she was awake loads at one point she was awake for 2hrs solid, i had to feed her 4x before she eventually dropped off!! and i turned my alarm off this morning and slept through for another hour, so was running round like a loony trying to get the kids ready and out the door so DS was at nursery on time!! Luckily we made it with seconds to spare, but i'd had to take DD2 out in her PJ's as didn't have time to change her!! Poor girl!!

NatalieJane · 27/04/2009 10:58

IDOB, sorry for crappy week, you have to remember you have so much going on at the moment, things are bound to feel like they are getting out of hand every now and then. Don't beat yourself up so much, you're making the best of a bad situation, and you are making a bloody good job out of it. Deffo time for a bit of a relax and time to let yourself re-energise.

Sorky, yep, finances are back on track thankfully, we were convinced we were for the chopping block, but it's all turned around Am I brave or stupid enough to declare my cheesiness? Nooooooooo

NatalieJane · 27/04/2009 11:00

Sorry Glask x-posts! There is nothing worse than getting up late, puts you off course for the whole day. FWIW, I used to always take DS2 up to school in the morning in his sleepsuit, and I would with Mikey now if my little baby boy hadn't gone and got all grown up and decided that it just isn't cool to have your mum drop you off anymore

idreamofbeanie · 27/04/2009 11:05

Cheers guys, think a cuppa and a brownie is just what I need . I know it will all work out, I'm just having a blue day - bloody hormones. On the plus side I went shopping with my mum on Saturday and bought some very comfy maternity jeans so I might be feeling a bit sorry for myself but I'm doing it in comfort! She also passed on 2 huge bags of baby clothes, blankets and a moses basket with bedding from my DB .

Sorry for the awful night Glask and well done on getting to the nursery on time! I'm love picturing your gorgeous DD2 all grumpy thinking "it's so embarrassing being out in my PJ's mummy" .

Sorry for poorlies NJ and Sorky . Hope they perk up soon.

Star - hope you enjoyed your family celebrations!
