Oh MOOS my poor dh hasn't had a thing since conception , so I daren't tell him about my moments with 'Mr C'

sorkycakey · 19/04/2009 18:36

ROFL at you lot and your pg dreams. One of the perks of pg I reckon

Tink I don't watch much telly so have no clue who the first three are, but pirate Johnny anyday for me

I think you're very brave Ses to let your Dh anywhere near your feet. I'm a strictly professional service kind of girl for all things beauty
I always find from 37 weeks onwards the biggest time drag, but I hope it flies round for you x
LB that is bloody fantastic news re: ds sleeping. You must be feeling fab today, plus the sun is shining hooray!

Kayz, very impressed with your WW and exercise, hope you see the results at weigh-in

Diege no one wants to know of your 'moments' with Mr.C. I thought we'd ALL made that perfectly clear

Glad you're happy with the bedroom move Tink. We're currently searching for the right 5 bed house eek!

Well I have no clue how I do it tbh, but somehow it all gets done & I have a very hands-on DH
Today has seen more digging & mulching at the allotment and we had a big parenting moment.....we let dd1 & ds1 play outside on their own today for the first time .
I'll be chucking them out there everyday from now on lol the house was sooooo peaceful. In fact it was so quiet as Dh took Ds2 shopping with him and Dd2 was asleep that it was really eerie.

Diege we have lots of seedlings everywhere waiting to go out, potatoes & peas and broad beens, leeks, ochra and strawbini, onions, garlic, shallots are all planted out.
This year should see our biggest crop yet there a helluva lotta effort gone into it :
We're hoping for:
romanesco cauli, broccoli, and sprouting broccolitomatoes, chilli's, chinese artichokes, aubergines, pepino, peppers, courgettes, watermelons, melons, squashes & tomatoes.
We planted beetroot over there tonight and before 'Dirty, Sexy, Money' comes on tonight we have to plant basil, rocket, achocha, lettuce, fennel, salsola, french beans, purslane & watercress.

Right kids are absolutely pitted and need a bath. Actually we all do

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 19/04/2009 20:50

diege - they are very different links cant buy these ones lol

sorkey - you have been busy

Starshinetiger · 20/04/2009 09:12

Sorky - you are a one-woman-wonder - I'm exhausted just reading your posts!
Ah well, into the last week of DS being at childminder - have to get down to the business of being a proper Mum to two children from Friday. Only thing I'm worried about is the sleep deprivation - started trying to put DD into her own bed to sleep between feeds last night - think had some success, but it all blurs into one by the morning! And for last two feeds this morning (bearing in mind we've only just got up), she was back in bed with me in between.

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 20/04/2009 09:39

morning

dd1 back @ nursery

lovely sun here think it might be time to start putting dds into there summer clothes

bedroom move has worked great. previous owner had downstairs room kitted out has a bedromm so we have wardrobes in here and draws it looks so much nicer as a bedromm rather than a study. have computer tucked into corner will move it into kitchen extension.
feels really nice not to have our room right next to the kids and have dd1 running straight in.
@ least now as they get older they wil have there own space to play in

Kayzr · 20/04/2009 09:49

Morning,

Diege, you can claim points for exercise. I got 15.5 points for my walk which cancelled out my BBQ Saturday evening.

We did loads of gardening yesterday and it was lovely. The sun is shining again today so I think we'll be in the garden all day again. Got most of the veg patch planted and some more seeds.

Hope everyone is well and you have a good day today.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/04/2009 10:33

Morning

Lovely day here too!

I've just been looking at Gruff's photos of Zach on FB - he is gooorggeeooouus !!

Sorky - never fear, I wouldn't let DH do me a pedicure! It was my cousin that was coming over that did it. She's a physio and gave me a lovely foot massage too - felt v indulgent

tink - glad things are working out well with the new bedrooms

Star - can only imagine that all blurring into one but am sure I'll experience it soon enough!

Kay - enjoy your gardening!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/04/2009 10:46

Morning All!

Hope you all had great weekends..

Gruff has posted some pics on FB!!

Sounds like a busy weekend as it was quite quiet on here.

We had a family weekend with visit from my Australian family on Friday evening and a big joint party on sunday for the other part of the family. It was our first real full day out and it DD was a bit grouchy, wanted feeding constantly which wasnt easy but we survived!

Moosy- glad to hear xw thing isnt so bad after all.. You describing the sicky feeling really brought it all back... hope its ok today. How many weeks are you now? Love how you told your parents about the baby!

Ses- I really cannot believe that you are 37 wks!! officially ready to drop now... ooh I need to make a guess on your syndicate!

Hi Kayz, Tink, Sorky (im v envious of your veg patch )

Right, off to find the Ses syndicate....

Morning all, just updating my details.

After a lovely week off I just can't get myself moving today at work, it's so sunny I just want to be back on hol . We had a lazy weekend in the sun after our camping trip, just walking along the river and meeting friends for lunch. Much less productive than Sorky! Note to self - must move my poor cramped garlic, onions and beans into bigger containers tonight and water the poor strawberries.

Gruff - the pics of Zachary are gorgeous!

Quick question for you all. I weighed myself at the weekend and I think I have put on about 8lbs. Does that seem a lot for only 17 weeks? I was quite surprised as I am still wearing my usual jeans although they are just starting to get uncomfortable and I might have to get a couple of pairs of maternity trousers this weekend. I have been eating healthily I think but probably more than usual (more fruit or yogurt snacks in day as I get hungry between meals) but the main thing is I am less active. I can't play rugby now and was advised to stop squash after 12 weeks although I might play the odd game with DP and just take it easier than usual. I walk the 25min to work and back and do lots of walking at the weekend but that's about it. I miss the buzz from rugby training - might be time to invest in a dvd but it seems a shame to be indoors when the weather is so gorgeous.

sorkycakey · 20/04/2009 11:27

Must give myself a guess....

GYo · 20/04/2009 11:28

Hi IDOB

Reckon 8lbs is fine for 17wks.. depending on what you started at I think a wt gain of 2.5stone is normal for pregancy and you are already nearly half way there.

I avoided the scales completly after a weigh in at about 12wks as i hated seeing the numbers going up. In the end I got DH to weigh me at 40wks, after birth and 4wks after. Was interesting to see what I gained without worrying about it!

sorkycakey · 20/04/2009 11:31

Diege I'm having trouble finding the birth ball. Looked last night and again this morning but it's nowhere. Will check loft access tonight when Dh is in.
If I can't find it tonight I'll post the cheese wedge, drugs and cd tomorrow. Then if the ball turns up I'll send it on separately

Right, nearly lunchtime and I've just got the floors to wash and bath & up stairs toilet to do.

It's absolutely glorious today again!

I love Mondays!!

sorkycakey · 20/04/2009 11:37

IDOB I think as a general rule you shouldn't expect to gain anything in the first trimester.
Then about 60-70% of total weight gain during the second trimester, with the rest during the third trimester, as a rough guide.
Everyone's different though and I've heard of women who were overweight beforehand hardly gaining anything above a couple of pounds, but losing it all after the birth, so I guess anything goes.
For 17 weeks that sounds fine.

Hey if Paula Radcliffe can keep running until 7 months pg, I can't see a bit of squash hurting at all. Better to keep active I'd have thought. Can you not do rugby training, or is that still just as physical as actually playing?

idreamofbeanie · 20/04/2009 11:40

Cheers GYo - I was more surprised than worried as I haven't had to buy new clothes yet. I'm just feeling the lack of exercise really - I went to watch my old rugby team play yesterday and realised how much I miss the training and playing already. I thought about going out for a run this evening but I'm not that fit so I do get pretty hot and I wasn't running regularly before I got pregnant. If it was just me I needed to worry about I'd just do it and not bother about guidelines/advice but it's amazing how protective of the little bean I feel. I'm just not sure what counts as 'too much'.

idreamofbeanie · 20/04/2009 11:44

Sorry Sorky - x-posted. The rugby training is pretty physical. Lots of crashing into mats or other players so I don't think its a good idea. Plus when they are doing sprint training etc now we are coming into the summer I wouldn't trust myself to take it easy. I have crawled home from a few training sessions in the past so it's probably too much. Do you think I'd be okay with jogging and squash though if I stop when I feel uncomfortable? How much of a worry is overheating?

sorkycakey · 20/04/2009 12:45

I don't think I bought any maternity clothes until 20 weeks with my first IDOB.
As regards running/squash, I'd say just go for it and stop if you feel hot/tired etc.
The overheating is only an issue for the first trimester I think. If you're pretty fit anyway I'd have thought you'd be fine with jogging (maybe not running).
I ran through pg's 2 & 3 up until around 6 months iirc, only 3 milers though and jogging not running.

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 20/04/2009 13:01

hi all

kay - gardening sounds good

hi ses

gyo - wknd sounds great

idob - i wouldnt worry about your weight when pregnant i gained 3 stone with both. i would leave the squash as i guess it is more the dangers of the ball flying into your stomach i would have thought as they go very fast and are hard.
i have been doing more sorting with the rooms.
have moved our clothes out if chest of draws in brackens room down to shelves in our room.

Kayzr · 20/04/2009 13:12

IDOB, I agree with everyone else, 8lbs soounds good. I gained 4 stone with DS1 and 2 stone with DS2.

Just planted some tomato seeds, more poppies and some more lavender. I've had to tie my sunflowers to stakes as they were starting to bend over. Come in for some lunch now and then got to finish digging out veg patch and then start on the borders. Luckily I found out that digging gives me bonus points on WW!! YAY!!!

Gruff, if you lurk at all, Zach is just gorgeous!!

GYo · 20/04/2009 13:59

meant to ask Sorky, how is the routine going?

Kayzr · 20/04/2009 13:59

HEHEHE!!! I have the close baby carrier and I looked at the instructions for putting DS2 in it as he is bigge. It says it can be used until your lo weighs 32lb. So I decided to put DS1 in it!! It looked so silly, I'm uploading a picture so you can see.

Kayzr · 20/04/2009 14:57

Pics

GYo · 20/04/2009 15:26

LOL Kayz- thats a fab pic bet it was a bit hard on your back though!!

Do you find that sling good?

Kayzr · 20/04/2009 15:27

Yes it was. I don't think I could walk anywhere with him. I love that sling, it is brilliant and DS2 loves it too. It's meant to be really good to BF in too but I never got round to trying it out.
