OP posts:

GYo · 20/04/2009 15:29

do you still plan to try and re-lactate?

I might look at getting one, I really want to be able to feed and walk about and the Coorie pouch sling hasnt been too successful...

Though I think Sorky has had success with one- is that right Sorky?

sorkycakey · 20/04/2009 15:41

I used the Tomy baby carrier to BF Dd1. It isn't good on babies hips though. There are others out there much better, check out the other topics, there are loads of posts. Maybe it's in Products. They seem to have a specific thread running about slings over there.

Lasted 30 minutes at the allotment before Ds1 played with the hose and soaked himself and Ds2 wet himself

Kayz hurray for gardening points!

Must go and peek at Gruff-boy

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 20/04/2009 16:05

lol @ pic kay
u have been busy

Kayzr · 20/04/2009 16:17

GYo, I'm still thinking about it. I have been reading about it and I'm not sure if it will work because it's been 12 weeks since he was last BF.

I nearly missed my GP appointment. Luckily I only live about 5 mins from the surgery.

Diege · 20/04/2009 17:48

Hello! Just back from work, and not had a chance to post - did try to read through though!
LOve the pics KAYZ, very cute
SORKY, don't worry if you can't find the birthing ball! I can always get one myself and then pass on to the next!
IDOB - running/jogging is fine, esp if you are already fit (which it sounds like you are)Watch out for your joints later on (ie third trimester); I'm sure you'll be fine, but I aggravated a previous injury, maybe conincidence, or maybe just because my joints etc were softening up!
Had a panicky moment at work when I couldn't get my thong sandels back on! My feet have swollen up so much my toes look like bananas, and the top of my feet like old ladies' ones . Had visions of walking barefoot to the train station, but we managed to wedge them on with the help of a hard backed book Have also rang doula and she is coming over for a chat Thursday morning at 10am - now of course I have to think of something sensible to talk about!
Hope everyone is ok - I'm sure I've missed out loads but wanted to say hello

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/04/2009 18:06

DH back from Belfast and we're off in half an hour to our tour of the ante natal unit at the hospital followed by NCT bf class. All the DHs/DPs have decided they're going to go to the pub instead!

Kay - loved looking at your piccies. DS2 really does look like DS1

Diege - I'm with you on the swollen feet. At least now I'm not working and I've had my pedicure, I can at least wear sandals. Not too much longer for your ML now!

IDOB - I'd love to advise you on exercise but not my strong point I did enjoy my ante natal pilates though.

GYo - I think your weighing policy sounds a good one. I'm starting to get a bit frustrated that my maternity clothes don't all fit any more. I'm struggling to look respectable.

Hope everyone else is ok too

mommyinthemiddle · 20/04/2009 18:28

Hi all, sorry haven't had time to catch up again!

Just skimmed through last few pages and looked at Master gruff pics on Facebook. He is gorgeous

Kay i lol at pics of DS1 in sling, and DS2 is getting big, you have two very gorgeous boys there. Definately going to break a few hearts!

Sorry your swollen Diege, bet this nice hot weather doesn't help!

Must find SES syndicate and make a guess. then it'll be my turn

Spent Friday at my friends and had a great time, Kids played on her Wii and loved it. Still trying to get use to living with my nan. She just wants to do everything together and i'm use to being independent. Had an argument this morning over the washing. she thinks i do too much washing, should keep the kids in clothes longer etc. had argument about sugar on weetabix the other day! The next 10 weeks can't go by fast enough then i will be living with the mother in law!

Hi
Ses- tonights NCT sounds good. How was it? has DH managed to bond with the other chaps?

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 20/04/2009 23:48

Hello!!!

Am back from hospital tour and NCT.
Tour was v good. All seemed remarkably calm and chilled. Low risk birthing unit seemed v good and there is one pool which we managed to see as it wasn't in use. They said if we wanted to use it to let them know when we phone up to tell them we're on our way in so think I'll do that.

NCT bf session wasn't so good. It wasn't our usual teacher but one of the BF counsellors and she was just really.... random. Didn't seem to have a plan for the evening and kept switching topics and did NOT make it seem easy at all! If I hadn't got info from MN, I'd be thoroughly put off by now. We all decided it was a good job that the guys missed it and went to the pub.

They on the other hand had bonded far too well! DH had had 5 pints and was being quite loud and lairy I guess the others were thinking the same about their DH/DPs too. Also my ex was in the pub and DH saw fit to tell them he was my ex and the circumstances of our split which was v messy (I was once told it would have been accused of being unrealistic if it was in a soap ) Was not happy with him but he said he mentioned it as he was concerned how I'd react when I saw ex in the pub!!!???!! Not much I can do about it now!!

Quite an evening all in all!

MITM - good to hear from you. I think I'd find living with rellies v difficult. At least you have an end point!

sorkycakey · 21/04/2009 08:11

Tink can happen when they start Nursery.

Diege that sounds like an excuse for more shopping

I hope those last few weeks fly by for you MIM

Ses I'd have been mortified too

Kayzr · 21/04/2009 08:31

Morning,

DS2 slept through!!!!!!! Well he woke up so I gave him his dummy but still it was better than having to get up to feed him!!!

Ses, Glad the tour was good. Sorry the BF counsellor was a bit random.

MIM, good to hear from you, hope everything is going well.

Hope everyone is well. It is really foggy here!

Hi all just updating list! Thanks for all your messages here and on FB!

Hi all! Just to let you know that we are all fine here and Zach is doing well. We came home from hospital on Sunday and I was so relieved to be back, as was DH!

My mum is now down from Scotland til Friday so probably won't get on much but I will try and stay lurking.

Have one hell of a birth story for you so you may have to all take a day off to read it I will be posting it soon.

Hope all ok with everyone - although fleeting its good to be back with my wagoners

Yay for sleeping through Kayz, we had a bit of a rough night here, but she has a snuffly nose so I'm thinking that might be it.
Glorious again here today Over to dig some more I think, then swimming lessons this afternoon.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Kayzr · 21/04/2009 13:42

Hello,

If anyone has any BF advice for Glask please could you look Here. She is struggling a bit but can't get online so I'm giving her a hand.

lastboxoftampons · 21/04/2009 14:19

Kay - I don't have any advice for Glask, but I hope she finds some help And well done to you for DS2 sleeping through!

Sorky - I'm well impressed with your gardening skills! I'm very too! We have a decent sized garden, but it's raised and was all concrete, so we decked over it. I would love to grow our own veg.

Ses - Glad DH is bonding with the dreaded NCT lot, LOL! Nothing like a bit of beer to kill the skeptic! Sorry the bfing bit was weird, though. Hope you feel you've got all the information you need to make your decisions. And WOW, I still can't believe you've only got a few weeks to go! now don't go having that baby while I'm on holiday!!!!!

Gruff - HELLO! Your boy is gorgeous! Congratulations!!!! Enjoy him!

Tink - My nephew who is 4, started wetting himself shortly after his littlest sister was born in October. He's fine now, but I think it does have something to do with unconscious attention-seeking. Glad you're enjoying your new bedroom - we recently moved ours inot what had been our sitting room and it's lovely. I'm afraid I don't know many of those guys in the links you posted, but I have to say, Jack Sparrow is the LEAST attractive of the Johnny Depp characters, IMO. Personally, I'm really, really looking forward to Wolverine! Hugh Jackman AND Ryan Reynolds!!!

Diege - please please please, don't paint any pictures of you and Mr C icky!

Hi GYO, MIM, and anyone who's lurking!

MW appointment was okay yesterday - I did the shared care because I thought I'd see the same mw at every appointment, but I've been 3 times now, not including my booking in, and it's been a different one each time. That in itself is fine because they're all lovely, but they don't ever seem to have the correct forms and my GP is just an administrative nightmare! She sent me down with orders for blood tests for 28 weeks, I get down to reception to make an appointment with the phlebotomist to find that it wasn't my name on the top of the forms . Then she didn't have the MatB1 form, called down to see if someone could bring one up to her, but no answer, and finally said they would have it at reception. I ask down there and the receptionist got all stroppy saying Why didn't she call us? I said She did! But they kept insisting. Then they said I'd have to go back up to her - the mw was running 25 minutes late to begin with and I had to get back to work, not to mention I wasn't about to barge in on someone else's appointment after they had waited 30 minutes to get in there! So they wouldn't let me have the form MW told me that I needed to see her again in 4 weeks time and when I spoke to reception, they don't have anything until 5 weeks from now, which has been a consistent trend after every appointment and I'm away then. Then to top it off, I need a note for the airline, which admittedly I left a bit late to sort out - but I thought the mw could just give me one. Turns out I need to make an appointment to see the GP to get the note, and they're all booked up this week, so I need to call in the morning to get a 'sick' appointment, which I did today, but I couldn't make any of the times they had available due to meetings, work commitments, etc.

lardybump · 21/04/2009 14:19

That is good advice from Tiktok kay hope it helps Glask......

Hope you are all well i have been to osteopath again today i really think it is helping him....

lastboxoftampons · 21/04/2009 14:22

Sorry that was a totally whinge! Hoping everyone has the lovely sunshine we have here to enjoy!

Kayzr · 21/04/2009 14:28

Whinge away LBOT, it's ok. We have fabulous sunshine here.

LB, Glad the osteopath is helping, that is great news.
