Diege- how old is your eldest?? my mum was the same age as yours when she had me... she was a granny at 36...

Moosy · 16/04/2009 17:06

Diege, I hope your arse isn't as big as hers you don't look too much like her!

Diege · 16/04/2009 17:07

That KAYZ swiftly re-opens again . Can't beleive your mum is just a year older than me . Agree, seems like we're all of the same age in the wagon!
SORKY, I will happily take the wedge and ball off your hands, as I was going to buy these myself, but only on the condition that I can send you some money for them!

Diege · 16/04/2009 17:11

Wow, a granny at 36! My mum is 54 now (I think?) and dd1 is 7, so a granny at 47. Seems positively ancient!
MOOSY, I remember working with a girl who bf's ex's girlfriend was called my name. She admitted that she coulod never get on with me because of it

sorkycakey · 16/04/2009 17:13

No more for me, Glask def not! I'd rather chew my own arm off.
Whilst I've got you Glask, why's nothing selling on eBay? I tried to sell a couple of clothing lots for my sister, all good stuff (Next, M&P) and no interest or bids at all.
Have I got the wrong time of year or something?

I have all of Dd2's stuff (newborn) to get rid of too. Doesn't look like eBay will be worth it.

sorkycakey · 16/04/2009 17:15

That's fine Diege, will find another packet or box.

Diege · 16/04/2009 17:21

Great, thanks SORKY! Will be strange to be labouring on the same ball! (is that tmi?? ). If you send me a message on facebook I can send you payment via paypal if that's best for you?
Re: e-bay I've never had luck with selling baby clothes, onbly for older ones. Think KAYZ did quite well a while ago though? Might also be worth posting on e-bay thread to see what's going on?

glaskham · 16/04/2009 17:21

Haven't a clue Sorky- haven't ebayed for a while as its just been a PITA... my sister had tons of brand new girls clothing to sell when she had a surprise boy, and she got £27 for about 100 items!! it was such a shame for her!! The last things i put on ebay were DS's shoes and they didn't sell- not attempted anything since... i'm guessing the credit crunch?? but can't understand it myself.

Its good for buying cheap though!! I'm doing a carboot sale on sunday to sell stuff better!!

Kayzr · 16/04/2009 17:31

My mum will be 46 in June. So a granny at 44. I do agree that we all feel the same age. I don't feel 22 nearly 23 at all.

Just back from WW. I have lost half a pound!! Not much but a loss all the same.

Moosy · 16/04/2009 17:33

Diege, if Sorky won't let you pay her I'll tell you her paypal email address! Blackmail, moi?

glaskham · 16/04/2009 17:35

thats good kayz!! a loss is a loss... Ruby needs to be getting all the weight you're loosing- she'll be doing much better than she is so far!!

Kayzr · 16/04/2009 17:42

If I lose another half pound next week that will be half a stone!!!

glaskham · 16/04/2009 17:50

thats fab!! You're doing really well to have lost so much so soon!!

Kayzr · 16/04/2009 17:51

I'm hoping to be at my goal weight by the end of the year.

Diege · 16/04/2009 17:51

Excellent MOOSY
Well done KAYZ! As others say a loss is a loss, and the larger weight losses are just water anyway

Kayzr · 16/04/2009 17:55

Why do they always wake up when you put them down?

sorkycakey · 16/04/2009 17:56

I'm being conspired against!

Right I'm off, Dh is in and we're having takeaway

sorkycakey · 16/04/2009 17:57

Well done Kayz. Going in the right direction

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 16/04/2009 18:10

well done kay

i am 31 this year in june look younger than i am.
cant decide now whether to ger classic a4 photobokk of of photo box or a baby annabell doll for dd1s bday

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 16/04/2009 20:54

LOL at all the age discussions!

I agree, we all seem a similar age when chatting here. It's only occasionally that I realise that I'm more than 10yrs older than some of you that already have 2 or more DC and I'm only just getting my first!

As for my parents - they are 65 and 64! FIL is 70 in June!

Sorky - LOL at "seniority at work"!! I guess I've been v fortunate with my career. At one point I was considering doing medicine and got as far as looking round medical schools in my first year of A-levels. A combination of things made me apply for pharmacy instead - partly I had a Saturday job at Boots and partly my mum told me that she wasn't going to support me through 7 years of training if all I was going to do was get married and have children at the end of it! Getting married and having a family has always been what I've wanted out of life rather than a career so I reconsidered! Little was I to know that I'd have some truly disasterous relationships in my 20s and not meet DH until I was 32! The "side effect" of that was that my career kind of took off!

Kay - well done on your weight loss

Am now starting to get quite of the meet up! We'll definitely have to do another later in the year. I'm guessing though that by the time 23rd May comes round, I may be a bit too busy to feel like I'm missing out!

lardybump · 16/04/2009 21:30

I am back now you have all gone..... Had a really bad day. Good job my trip was cancelled, dd started to get a temp at midday and was very upset! She kept holding her ears so I called gp who couldnt see me. left it another couple of hours and she got a lot worse so i took her to A&E. She has a nasty ear and chest infection and is on AB. Hope DS doesn't get it. Spent 3 hours at A&E as well.... so had a fab day........

Must ask is it safe to drink while BF? I have been having a small glass of wine with my dinner in the evenings and dp said that may be making DS worse. Stupid me hadn't even thought about that!!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 16/04/2009 21:35

Hi LB - sorry you've had such a rubbish day 3hrs in A&E and a sick DD can't be fun.

Re alcohol and BF, my understanding is that a glass of wine would not be classified as unsafe but different babies do respond to different things in the diet so it may be worth trying 2 or 3 days without and seeing if it makes a difference.
Obviously I have no first hand experience though (yet!)...

lardybump · 16/04/2009 21:40

Thanks for that Ses I will give that a go... How are you feeling???

You are not old at all, I would say very young indeed!!!!! ( can you guess i will be 36 this year as well) And 1973 was the best year to be born in!!!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 16/04/2009 21:42

Evening! Blimey, today was a busy day!

Finally managed to catch up - I'm 33, just ticked over another year and tend to get confused about how old I am when people ask. I guess similar to you Ses in terms of being in 30's before having any DC.

I think I can make it to the May meet up, DH is happy to have DS for the day and I'll travel up in the morning to meet at Betty's...then travel back later in the day.

Not sure where I'm going to park etc so if anyone has any tips, they'd be welcome.

Kay - well done on your weight loss

Guess I'm a bit late to put in a bid for the birth ball, but again, if anyone can let me know somewhere decent to get one from, i'd be grateful for that too. Also, whilst on the shopping front - I'm after a CD for birth 'preparation' / relaxation etc - I got very panicky in the last one (proper hyper-ventilation, arms spasms etc - Diege, did that happen to you too?) so am willing to give anything a try this time.

I'm really nervous about the birth and I'm not even 16 weeks yet, I guess coz I don't really know why the last one didn't 'work', I feel quite powerless to do anything differently to make it better or more successful this time around.

I'm rambling aren't I... sorry for me, me, me post, its quite late....

lardybump · 16/04/2009 21:45

STT you carry on, that is what we are there for. Great news re the meet up. Am I the only one that is going to have the children with me???? Hope you dont mind!!! Kay will you be bringing DS1 or will dd be the eldest one there?????
