STT how about we have a wagon cd and birth ball?

Diege can have them first, then hand them over to you when she's finished.

I'll donate them

LB that sounds dreadful, hope little dd is feeling okay now. I drink when b'fing, maybe a small glass of wine or half a beer.
Alcohol seems fine for us, strawberries sadly not, seems to be whatever the baby is like.
I'm bringing at least one child with me, but not all 4. You'd never speak to me again hehehe

G'night!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 16/04/2009 21:51

LOL Sparkly Normally it's me that rambles! Maybe one of our thread titles should be about a rambling wagon??!

LB - I'm feeling fine actually! Everyone keeps telling me how well I look and how pg obviously suits me! Obviously the usual awkwardness with solid bump, takes ages to do everything, weeing, disturbed sleep etc but that's all to be expected!
Can't believe there's only 3.5 weeks to go until my due date. Still have moments where I think it's all my imagination!
Oh and 1973 obviously was a v good year!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 16/04/2009 22:01

Ooh, a wagon birth ball, that works for me! Whilst you were all posting I was googling and found this - its got no reviews but says its the VBAC version of the hypno-birthing CD - is that the one that you've got Sorky?

I'm assuming these birth balls deflate - I can't really imagine wrapping and posting a ball!!

lardybump · 16/04/2009 22:15

Right I am off now so will speak to you all tomorrow... Night night.

NatalieJane · 17/04/2009 08:41

Good morning

Have only managed to read up the page a bit, you lot have been chat chat chat since last time I was here!

Ages: I am 25, feel about 55 most of the time, probably starting to look my age Was a good 2 or 3 years ago since I got asked for ID!

We've had a fairly shitty week, Sunday, me and DH at logger heads, over nothing really, we don't tend to argue very often but when we do, we really do, and we haven't had a blow up for ages and ages, not since well before I was pregnant with Mikey, that trickled over to Monday, I think it had a lot to do with the whole money thing, then we he was working all weekend so we could breathe again it all came out, Tuesday was quite good, friend came over with her DC's, kids played in garden, we opened the box of wine at 6, we finished the box of wine at gone 1am That is quite bad really isn't it? Tuesday the poorlies started, I've been down with some sort of bug (high temp, achy breaky - not hung over!) kind of like some sort of flu thing but with out the cold type symptoms, temp broke last night so feeling much better now, and then when DH went to get DS2 out of his cot this morning, the cot and him were covered in sick, nappy full of very yukky stuff (that I obviously can't spell so am not even going to attempt to!), he's got high temp. shivering, the works. Poor little man, goodness knows how long he'd been led in it all. We still have the monitor on at night for him (paranoid mother?) but neither of us heard a thing, he must have done it in his sleep because if he's awake and sick the whole street can hear him! And we have, or had, plans tonight, which are I think going to be going out of the window now, so DS1 is upset because he was really looking forward to it.... And you can garentee that DS1 will have some sort of bug just in time for the school re-opening on Tuesday..... it never rains eh?!

Cor blimey I know how to moan don't I?! Sorry everyone.

I suppose I'd best go and make his cot back up, never know what to do for the best when they're sick on mattresses, I've sprayed with anti-bac and wiped over with kitchen roll, but it can't be good for them laying on that? But if I use just water it will just make it wet and not clean it properly? He's had half a slice of toast and so far it's stayed put, let's hope it is over for him, I hate it when they are ill.

NatalieJane · 17/04/2009 08:47

Sorry absolutely terrible typing....

And some how it missed out the most important part of my message which was - huge congrats to Gruff, I haven't managed to read through it all properly but I saw it ended in CS, sound's like it wasn't easy by any means, but you'll see, it's all worth it in the end - well done!! And once you're over the shock of the a little boy, I bet you'll even manage a little laugh! What a story to tell his girlfriends in a few years!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 17/04/2009 08:48

Morning

NJ - sorry for you being ill and now DS2 this morning Hope it all clears up.
Started box of wine at 6pm and finished it at 1am... You're right - that's not good. You should have finished at least your 2nd box by then!!

NatalieJane · 17/04/2009 08:56

Shushhhh, I don't need encouraging! LOL

Am actually starting to wonder if I am just enjoying having a night 'off' so to speak, considering I haven't had a night off since DS1 was born, or if I am rebelling a bit I thought teenagers and teenagers alone rebelled, but then I never got my timings right!

sorkycakey · 17/04/2009 09:07

Hi all
STT the ball deflates, yes . The CD I have is the HB one, but she only makes one smidgy mention of HB in the whole thing so I'm not sure if it matters to buy the vbac one or not.
I get the impression save maybe 6 words the cd's anre the same.

Hello drinky crow Nat Wine is essential when you're a mother of 3, positively prescribed when you hit 4 .
Better to have the bust up and get the feelings out than have them there festering I'd say. Sorry ds2 is poorly, not nice is it? Does the top part of the mattress zip off? It could go in the washer then, might make it a bit easier to clean.

Hope you're day is better today LB

SES 3.5 weeks??

NatalieJane · 17/04/2009 09:22

Nope, no zip (DS3's does, which is just typical!) it has that almost plasticy material around it, so nothing gets into the actual inner of the mattress, it's all on top of it.

Oh and the wine has always gone down quite nicely, but not at the rate of the last few weeks, and because it's been school holidays, so there is no having to get up to get out of the house, it has been a little more often than even I could handle, I think it was last Saturday the last time, at her house, it started with wine, then it was champers (which I don't like...but it didn't seem to matter by that point) then it was some green stuff (which I actually don't remember if I liked it or not, have no idea what it was) then it Archers..... which I've never liked...... and apparently there was some voddie thrown in somewhere but I don't remember that at all, are you getting the picture? LOL Strangly I was quite OK the next day, not even the slight bang of a head ache I couldn't eat till tea time, but other than that....! It really isn't good is it?

Right now I have confessed my alcoholism ( ) I really must go and sort his cot out else come his nap time he'll have no where to go.

lardybump · 17/04/2009 09:23

Sorry DS2 is ill NJ hope he is better soon.

DD is a trouper, you can tell she is ill (glassy eyes and bright red eyes and cheeks) but she is trying so hard to do everything she normally does... bless her she has just helped me bath DS.

DS is full of cold and has been really sick in the night, he kept caughing and everything came up mixes with tons of slimey snot. DS and I (and my bed) looked like this !

I feel like I have been hit by a bus today, going to have a really lazy day....

Diege · 17/04/2009 09:34

Morning! Good to hear from you NAT, but what a rotten week you've had . I too never know what to do with sicky mattresses - I get really stressed out when they're sick in the night, and usually just end up (after changing sheets etc) putting lots of towels down as I know they'll be a repeat episode. Then spray mattress with dettol spray or something similar, open window, and hope for the best! Really hoping you can make the meet-up!

SORKY, excellent idea about wagon ball and CD - will happily send on to SKK! Like the idea of compulsory wine for those with 4 children. I don't actually drink; maybe that's where I'm going wrong...although I am partial to the odd glass of chilled champagne darrrlings..

SKK sounds like we have similar 'labour responses' as they say. From first contraction I tend to go into full panic mode, cold sweats, proper hyperventilating that I need to breath into a bag for, tingling, pins and needles type sensations all over. The one time is did get a bit of build up to contractions (with dd2)I coped much better. In fact, by time epidural arrived I was actually coping quite well on gas and air, but felt it rude to refuse... I def think the mental state you're in influences how you deal with the pain, so hopefully the CD will at least have some positive effect for us!
Oh and on subject of meet-up SKK, would the train be an option to avoid parking panic? Just thinking that it's very close to city centre, and pretty easy if you've got no children with you?

LB, phew, what an afternoon! Bet you're so glad the trip was cancelled now! In admiration with how you coped and got things done so efficiently . Hope all is well in LB household today!

Well dh has taken all 3 dds on the train to beach somewhere in cumbria (I must start listening)so I have absolutely no excuse not to get some work prep done for next week. Can't beleive I have just 6 office days left before hols/mat leave (ok, 10 working from home days before leave kicks in too, but hardly the same!!).
Hope everyone has a good Friday - winter has returned here!

Kayzr · 17/04/2009 09:47

Morning,

We are so lazy!! We have just got out of bed.

Hello Nat Sorry for you and DS2 being ill. I hope you are all better soon. I never know what to do when DS1 is sick either.

LB, So sorry DD is ill. Must be scary having to take them to a&e. I wasn't going to bring DS1 but now DH is back at work I probably will do now.

DS1 wants a picnic in the garden but whenever we ask what food he wants for his picnic he just says no to everything.

Hope everyone is well.

Diege · 17/04/2009 10:27

LOL KAYZ, no what you mean about 'no' to every possible offer of food! DD3's new fave word is 'actually', so we get the 'actually.... no...which is more irritating than cute! Hope you enjoyed your lie-in
Have just e-mailed a doula! Just a teeny inital enquiry - dh not keen ages back when I suggested it, but having agreed to home birth may react differently this time. £500, which is (to me) a lot of money, but more palatable than the £3 grand birth centre. What we could do with would be a wagon doula, on call 247 for all the births!

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 17/04/2009 10:41

hi

nat - sorry for illnesses and arguments ye for wine hope that mikey gets better soon!!

i still have cold

diege - good luck with work

Kayzr · 17/04/2009 10:44

I'm still trying to work out why Nat is in bold in my first post. I know I didn't put * round it.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 17/04/2009 10:46

Diege - love the idea of a wagon doula How quickly can we get that arranged????!
Yay for 6 office days left!

I've just had a lovely warm shower and then found some Sanctuary body butter so have smothered myself in it. Then put some Bio oil on stretch mark vulnerable bits too!

Miserable day here - grey and rain.

idreamofbeanie · 17/04/2009 11:03

Morning all, what a busy week. I think I have almost caught up.

CONGRATULATIONS Gruff and Mr Gruff .
How is your little surprise boy doing?

I'm looking forward to the York meet-up! I live near the racecourse, about 15-20 min walk from Betty's and it's free onstreet parking if anyone wants to park there and meet up to walk in to town. Otherwise I used to use the St George Fields car park when I was house hunting but I don't know how busy it is at the weekend.

Hope all the sick mums and DCs feel better soon!

Kayz - congratulations on DH's job, must be such a relief.

Hmmm can't remember what else I was going to say sorry. I'm 30 BTW which seems quite old for a wagon first-timer. We had a fantastic few days in Cornwall and some great weather but it started raining on Wednesday so yesterday we decided to pack up the tent and head home.

lardybump · 17/04/2009 11:10

I was 33 when I had dd and 35 when I had ds so you are not old at all...

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 17/04/2009 11:22

Nah! Some of us are going to be nearer 40 than 30 when I we have our first!

LB - bless your DD for struggling on

SDOB - good to have you back with us. I was wondering how your camping was going and whether you were affected by the rain. Glad you managed to get some good weather at the start of the week though.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 17/04/2009 11:23

Sorry - I DOB
Son't know where that random S came from!!

lastboxoftampons · 17/04/2009 11:25

Hi Everyone:

you've all been busy!

LB and Nat - so sorry for sicky LOs! And big ones, too, Nat! Hoping everyone is on the mend.

Kay - well done on losing another pound! at your mum's friend! Had to admit I did a double take and then remembered that some people on here are quite young indeed! She must be thrilled.

I'm right behind you STT - I'll be 33 in September. Like Ses, I feel slightly late to be starting with our first, but this was the right time for us...! Made the mistake of asking DH what he thought was the ideal gap between babies the other night and he looked slightly freaked out as to WHY I would be thinking about this now before DC1 is even here! Must remember to pace myself with that stuff! But I keep thinking I'm not that young and I'd like to squeeze two in!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 17/04/2009 11:30

Morning LBOT! Squeeze 2 in?? I'm thinking at least 3 and you've got 3.5yrs on me!

lastboxoftampons · 17/04/2009 11:42

Hi Ses!
I had always imagined I'd have a baby by the time I was 25 But thinking back to when I actually WAS 25...there's just no way! And I had already met DH by then, but we were living in NYC, going out and having a good time - a baby was the furthest thing from my mind! My SIL was telling me that she was talking to her mom one day asking how she managed to do it all because SIL was so exhausted with her first - her mom said, well, I was about 10 years younger than you are now!!!

So I need to add myself to your syndicate! 3.5 weeks!!! I remember when you got your BFP!!!!!

SES'S SYNDICATE - EDD 10th MAY
Glaskham - 6th May, 5.16am, 6lb 14oz, girl
Diege - 8th May, 7.16am, 71b 11oz, boy
LBOT - 12 May, 2pm, 7lb 6oz boy
Ses - 16th May, 10.05am, 7lb 12oz, girl
Kayz - 12th May, 6am, 7lb 4oz, boy

Moosy · 17/04/2009 11:45

Morning, got more illies here, DD1 had her preschool booster jabs yesterday and has reacted a bit, she woke up at 1am screaming and with a high temp and was sick (in our bed) and is really whiiiiiiiiiiney this morning. She didn't go back to sleep until 4.30 so is very tired, as is DH and me. Of course being tired makes me feel sickier too. [pity poor me!]

Mum's gone to Asda for us which is good as I was dreading it

Hope all are feeling better soon, and nice to hear from you Nat (I panic at the sight of a sicky bed/child too!).
