hellooo ruby !! so excited.. can';t wait to see you in a few weeks.. do you love my new name? have been looking out for peppa pig things for DN.

idreamofbeanie · 29/05/2009 11:07

smallone - that is so exciting and scary, I only have 17 weeks left until I'm a mum!

Flame - hope you have a fab scan, are you finding out the sex? It's crap about the dress, I"m a DD cup and I always have that problem.

Ruby - for SPD, take it easy today and enjoy the sunshine.

LMB - my little one is a real wriggler too. The kicks are getting stronger too, I keep jumping when I get an unexpected kick. The movements are still really low down - I feel it most just about the level of my knicker line - is that normal? It's just strange as my bump is def expanding much higher than that.

BellaCullen · 29/05/2009 13:13

Its a BOY!!! Scan was great the woman took quite a while to look as baby was in an akward position but you could clearly see its a boy,she didnt need to tell just let us look.Looking at the heart was amazing you could clearly see all the chambers and the fluid going in and out from them.Never had such a detailed scan before or at least they didnt take so long so couldn`t see much.

Flame how was your scan?

Has anyone heard from Jeml she didn`t come back after her scan or did I just miss it?

idreamofbeanie mine is a wriggler too and he`s got his legs just above bladder so feel kicks same place as you completely normal.Just hope he will turn head down before the birth.
22 weeks today

Good luck with the scan PP-I like that pink dress so shame it is no good!

ruby-hope the SPD is not to bad. Had it with DD2 and not nice is it?

sammysam-hope your sis's SIL doesn't have to have bedrest as it will make her mat leave short the other side.

Sure I read that Scorpio was PG again.

Yesterday DH got a parking fine from B&Q for overstaying. Thing is, we went there on Saturday and browsed for ages as it was lovely and sunny and was looking at furniture and lots of things. Bought a few bits then went into the cafe for about an hour as the girls are slow at eating. Then we called into Halfords who share the same car park to try out bikes for DD1's 6th B'Day in July. So, we probably did exceed the 2 hours but we were in the vicinity and spent money. Have sent an appeal letter in today but have read on another thread about UKPC being bullies keen to send the bailiffs in. DH livid.

Must get some lunch so will check back later for scan news.

Big wave!

X-posts, Bella-what lovely news and your scan pics are fab. I too couldn't believe the close up of the 4 chambers of the heart. We had the lovliest of the sonographers who explained everything and it was so much better than with DD1 and DD2's scans.

Bella great about the scan, love the pictures! Cant believe how clear they are, the German ones here in Bielefeld arent so clear or good, but just glad to have them!

HC cant believe you fined! Its different if you just go off & leave your car, but not when you are spending money!! They will get the money any way they can, and they know you cant do a thing about it.

DevilsAdvocaat · 29/05/2009 16:42

LMB i have a jane PT and when i take my son and niece out in it they still chat to each other and sing etc. it's really easy to get around shops and better the push one handed than my single buggy i got a second hand one off ebay for £100. bargain.

great news for all scans - also for scorpio

off to b'ton to visit friends tomorrow, ds staying with nanny. bliss. aibu to still go to bed at 9.30?! will have to save my coffee for the evening!

yay for the sunshine

rubyslippers · 29/05/2009 17:03

Bella - fabulous pictures

my lovely MIL has just told me she has bought me a buggy for DC2 - the one which was on the Apprentice and which i had been lusting after

DS will be 3.6 so am hoping to sling the new baby and not have to buy a double pushchair

PleasinglyPointless · 29/05/2009 18:42

Back from scan - will catch up a bit later (hopefully) and sort out posting pics then.

Lovely clear scan, still just "a baby" as we didn't want to find out. The sonographer was the most miserable one we've ever had though. Very much there to do her job and that was it

hackneybird · 29/05/2009 18:54

Hi flame (do we still call you that?) Yay for your good scan. We don't know the sex either. What a pain about your sonographer. Ours was really friendly but it was so quick - only took 5 or 10 mins.

Well done for you too Bella.

Enjoy the nice weekend weather everyone.

xx

PleasinglyPointless · 29/05/2009 19:01

Yup, I namechange so often it is best to stick with Flame

LittleMissBliss · 29/05/2009 20:06

Devils i really like the jane power twin and had a little push of one and its really smooth and light. I really do like them. Still umming and ahhing as i've read such great reviews about the nipper double.
I think they both fold up pretty much to the same size but the Jane looks easier to fold less stages. I need to wait for my maternity money to arrive so have three weeks to decide.

Has anyone sent off their form yet or even filled one in. Can it only be sent off at 25 weeks or do you receive the money at 25 weeks? I've got buggies on the brain and wont rest until i can get a new one, silly really as it wont be used for a good few months.

Bella congratulations on your boy!

Glad other scans went well. I think they must have re-trained the sonographers because mine was so thorough this time and talked me through everything. Where as last time it was mostly silent and she just did her checks, then told us all was well and the sex. Felt much more involved this time.

Is anyone else really stressed out/hormonal. I have no patience with dp and he says i'm miserable all the time. I don't mean to be but i'm so worn out running after ds during the day trying to keep him busy, happy, clean and fed that by the time he gets home and i've made tea and washed up, i'm exhausted and just want to veg on the sofa or Mumsnet. Not make chit chat. I hate being like this and feel sorry for him but have such little patience at the moment.

HumphreysCorner · 29/05/2009 20:27

LittleMissBliss-if you send the form off before 25 weeks they will just post it back apparently. My MW gave me the form to fill out and will only stamp her bit when I see her at 28 weeks so it will be ages before I get my money. It will be a last minute pram. Your evenings sound like mine but I just think that it won't last forever.

Flame-glad the scan went OK but not so nice having a rushed one. Jobsworths!

Sorry not been on much as laptop has been playing up.Have read most news so great to catch up.Good news for all the scans and healthy babes.

I have good energy days and exhausted days.Just eatten a massive steak for tea yum yum.Hopefully it will supply some energy for the weekend.

I have had some very bad news about my 2 friends friend.(I have had dinner and coffee with this woman)Before you read this is a very rare and sad sittuation. She has just had her 4th child, all children now 7 and under and she has been told that her skin cancer has now spread to other parts of her body and she has only months to live.As you can imagen we are all in a complete fog.I had to tell her good friend today.I am supporting the friends while trying to protect myself.I have been a more tolerent mother since I have found out.It puts everything in prospective.Sorry to bring this sad news to you all,but it feels hard for me

On a happy note we have a lovely weekend ahead.Parties and summer fairs and a christening on Sunday.the weather looks great and I am going to enjoy all the people who are around me.

DevilsAdvocaat · 30/05/2009 07:02

oh fidelma, that is so sad
please offload your thoughts on us.

when things like this happen it really does make you look around and be grateful for what you have.

rubyslippers · 30/05/2009 10:02

morning to all

*fidelam - that is so sad. what an awful thing ... if you need to off load then please do

We are all up and about so already been shopping - am now rushing around to get house sorted

have good days and enjoy this glorious sun

HappyTangerine · 30/05/2009 16:51

How fantastic is this weather?! Since I started taking Spatone iron scahets, my energy levels have picked up massively and I spent all day yesterday revamping the garden.

Have just booked a 2 week holiday to Sorrento, leaving on Jun 15th. So excited, haven't had a holiday since our honeymoon in 2006. Now need to find big nork holiday wear. Also need to sort out travel insurance now-any recommendations?

I see the consultant at 9.15am Monday-bit nervous and don't know what to expect.

More news from dizzy sister. She dropped her room keys in a field in Poland(was taking the children on some kind of excursion. Hotel wanted to charge her 30eur for each so she went bck to the field to look for them in the rain. Found the keys in the field, got back and realised she'd lost her mobile phone in same field. I give up!

Great scan news from you
LittlePeaand Ballio - congrats on the girls!
Bella-yay, another boy for the team
Hackneybird and Flame - glad scans went well. Mine was a bit uncomfortable, sonographer pushed really hard to measure head and woke the baby up. He's not stopped wriggling since!

Fidelma-thats so sad about your friend, I'm so sorry

MeHimCatBlob · 30/05/2009 17:22

Fidelma - so sorry about your news - it must be awful for you as well as her.

I am so jealous of all your scans - I am only 18+5 and my scan is still weeks away (but 2 days before i get married so hopefully it will be good news!)

hope you are all enjoying the sunshine

princessmel · 30/05/2009 17:33

Hello

Sorry about your friend Fidelma

HT great news about your holiday plans

Talking of energy levels, mine seemed to have picked up aswell. I am not so sleepy in the evenings and generally seem perkier. I do need to sit down frequently though.
I feel very heavy down below after standing for a short while. It's not so bad when walking.

I have had a very relaxing day. Spent the morning at home and did some hand washing which needed doing. My friend popped over too with her dd's.

Then I went to the salon with my twin and had a manicure and pedicure. We had some vouchers that we'd been given for our birthdays. I got a my toenails painted blue as the dress I am wearing tonight is blue.
We're going to a school friend's wedding reception. Lovely weather for it.
I'm really looking forward to it as we're going with friends and it's the first time we've been out with them since september. She got pregnant and was too poorly, then I got pregnant!!!

I got my dress from ASOS maternity in the sale. Bargain!
www.asos.com/Asos/Asos-Maternity-Jersey-Drape-Bandeau-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=505588&SearchQu ery=blue%20maternity&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=MidnightBlue

I am wearing it with low ish sparkly heels and am adding a similar sparkly broach to the dress. It has a drapey section on the front and it's quite annoying, so I'm pinning it in place.

Hope everyone's well

Flamesparrow · 31/05/2009 19:51

Oh Fidelma

I should now have a scan pic on the profile. I am not sure if it is the sun, or the ADs kicking in quickly, but I am feeling just sick atm rather than sick and suicidal

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 31/05/2009 20:18

FS - glad you are feeling better. The sun is excellent isn't it. None of my summer clothes fit though!

Princess Mel - Just been on Asos and bought a bunch of stuff. Lots of bargain maternity clothes on there. Your dress looks nice too. Thanks for the tip.

20 week scan tomorrow!!!!

fidelma · 31/05/2009 23:11

Thanks for all you support.

I have had a lovely weekend,my sad news made it all the more special.I was God Mum to my friends 4th today and I really enjoyed being in church (we are not church goers)but it was very spiritual.

The fantastic weather, what a joy.Long may it continue.

The children have enjoyed a summer highland fling, water fights,Aunties birthday, games outside oh and more water.Fun fun fun.

Poor DS1 aged 4 in aug has to have a tooth out tomorrow as it is dead!!His baby teeth have very little enamal.Hopefully we will be able to hang on to the rest of his teeth but this one needs to come out.We are going to try and take it out at the dentist with an injection !!!!!! He is very complient and I would rather that he didn't have an anasthetic. However if it is too much rest asure we will stop.

Glad that you are all enjoying the sun.Good luck with the scans this week.
I will let you know if we manage it.Sorry about the spelling.I can't spell for toffee!

sammysam · 01/06/2009 08:48

Just popping in quickly-
Just wanted to say fidelma-make sure you offload on here-what a totally awful situation. Your poor friend-and her dc's

Congratulations for all the scans

Had a lovely weekend-very relaxing-although too many late nights so i'm feeling a bit bleugh now! Have been feeling much more sick since I've been back from hols-I think it might be that now soda water makes me feel sick what the hell can I drink now?!!!

This baby is very active (dd was too) most movements you can see from the outside as well now

Sun is out again today-must make the most of it as it has really improved my mood recently (although my patience and compassion has reduced a lot-poor dd and dp!)
Anyone know how long we have the sun for?

rubyslippers · 01/06/2009 09:02

KleineMaus · 01/06/2009 11:01

Oh Fidelma, poor ds and his tooth, and you of course. My ds has just started having some trouble with one of his knees (I think it has to do with hypermobility) and I've been putting off going to the doctor as I know he'll kick up a huge fuss (you should see his hair - even if we try and cut bits he screams as if we're torturing him - I can't even contemplate taking him to the hairdressers') I'm such a coward. Good luck with it.

Talking of ds, we put him in his big boy bed on Saturday and it's worked a dream - so far. The first night he got out of bed in the middle of the night to get a book, but just took it back to bed with him - we never heard a thing (!)

My sister-in-law was asking me yesterday if I'm going to go to ante-natal classes this time round. I have moved house since the last time so it's a different hospital set-up, but I really can't be bothered. She went three times! Now I feel like maybe I should go. Is anyone else not having a first baby planning to go?
