Hello all hope youb all had a glorious bank holiday weekend, what lovely weather.

Sammy and princessmel very of your holidays glad you and the dc's had a lovely time. PMel you look lovely in your pictures!

Glad to hear more scans have gone well and we have some more surprises to look forward too in October.

I'm really hungry at the moment also, def have a sweet cravings and a craving for extra strong mints (had the same with ds). Still tired allot of the time and waiting to start G-L-O-W-I-N-G!

We went to see a house today but a bit disappointing, the long garden was split level so couldn't leave ds to play as the stairs would have been too steep. Also the drive was directly on a mini round-about. There always seems to be a catch when we go and view these paper perfect properties, in person..... think i went a little overboard on the alliteration there ....

well better go and put my feet up all this sun has left me exhausted.

LMB no Point in Picking the Perfect house if it's Position is not Perfect

kleinmaus cool names. i love astrid.

i just put my big boy into a proper bed. his cot is now in the nursery. i cried once i shut the door i blame the hormones. he looks so tiny in it, but he's growing up. haven't heard a peep from him yet so hoping that he'll stay in bed. fingers crossed.

HumphreysCorner · 25/05/2009 21:43

Can't believe this has dropped off my active threads. Have been busy in the garden due to my nesting instinct cutting in.

Am of all the hols you've all had. Haven't been abroad since 2002 and am desperate for the sun and the atmosphere of the Med.

DD1 has just had Chicken Pox but as I have had it there was nothing to worry about. It is only a problem if you haven't had it and catch it during pregnancy.

Struggling to sleep at night as my pelvis feels like it will collapse when I move and is quite painful. Also need to wee nearly every hour.

Any scans this week?

Big wave!

Hi everyone good to hear you've all enjoying the weather, have been for my scan today baby if great, but was a little bugger an wouldnt show a few things so have to go back in 2 weeks (yaaaay extra scan).

Im also eating everything in sight, even got to the stage of sending DP out for maltesers as I saw someone had became a fan of them on facebook and I couldnt get them out of my head.

Has been an up and down week for me really, DD turned one which is great but then she went and self weaned off breastmilk. Think it was a mixture of reduced supply with being preg and also her being too busy to ask, although this is great as I was actualyy planning on weaning her after my holiday next week now I kind of feel like im missing out on something.

Then I was speaking to my sister this week and she said a few nasty things bout how I havent got a clue what being a mom is as Isla has only just turned one, also adding that I wouldnt cope with two etc etc. Now I know I should just ignore her as she is obviously jealous her two sisters are expecting when her H wont have anymore kids but was having a bit of a low day I think. Families who'd have them??

On a lighter note there are some great names on here, I had thought of Iona myself as I love the name but its a bit cliche to have an Isla and Iona where I live. I have now set my heart on Riley for a boy and Alana for a girl, all I need to do now is talk DP into them. He said he wont talk names until im 7 months, not that that makes a difference as I will just do as last time and bug him so much before then that he tells me I can pick any name I want.

Hope that all makes sense have typed in a bit of a hurry sorry.

KleineMaus · 25/05/2009 22:29

Devils, good luck with the big boy bed. Let us know how it goes as I'm waiting for a bed to be delivered for ds. He's almost three, but I've been putting it off because I'm lazy and don't want to have to be running upstairs every five minutes to get him back into bed!

hackneybird · 25/05/2009 23:58

sugar a bit at your sister, that's so mean of her! You're being very gracious about it, if that was me I'd be really cross and brewing up a right grudge.

I love the names Isla and Iona for girls. I like your tactic of bugging your DH unti,l you get your way - I think I might do that. I did that when we were trying to decide where to get married and I totally got my way. .

HC I did loads if gardening this weekend too. I'm not very good at it though, I neglect it all winter then get all keen as soon as the sun comes out. You sound like you're in a lot of pain though, I hope you can do something for it. I have to wee a lot too. It is very dull.

My scan is on Thursday morning! 'Ticks off days'. We're not going to find out what it is.

sammysam · 26/05/2009 07:47

Sugar- at your sister! What a nasty thing to say! Best to just ignore-but very hard to do! DD has self weaned as well-a couple of months ago-was kind of what I was hoping to happen but was still very weird!

Kleine-I'm glad to hear we're not the only lazy ones!!! DD will be 3 in July and is still in her cot bed.....with the sides on! Partly because of the getting out thing and partly because we're not sure where the bed end of it is in the loft We were going to buy a single bed for her a few at Christmas but then didn't which was very lucky as we wouldn't be able to fit that and the cotbed in her room! I think we'll just buy another junior bed and put her into that and leave the cotbed as it is ready for the baby!

I'm still so tired and there is so much to do! Very of peaches going away for 2 weeks-a week is never long enough!

Good luck for any scans this week! Have a great day ladies x

theboob · 26/05/2009 08:35

sugar i'm at your sister, although my friend said similar things when i was TTC about how i would not cope etc, until i pointed out that it was the 23rd dec, and we were running around doing her xmas shopping for her only child , and mine was finished , wraped and food shopping done for my 3 she soon changed her tune, but it did hurt so think your doing well to keep your cool

HC also weeing all the time, hope your out of pain soon, i seem to get a terrible stich whenever i walk
we put ds2 in a bed a few weeks ago and it seems to have gone well, i wanted him well out of his cot to avoid resentment at the baby for stealing his bed

have had a lovely weekend but its time for my head in the books as my human physiology exam is on the 1st june , so i will be missing until the 2nd
good luck with all scans this week x

HumphreysCorner · 26/05/2009 08:55

Good luck theboob-hope all goes well.

SugarKane-jealousy is a terrible thing and has long drawn out consequences. Am to admit when I was much younger and my bro got married I really didn't take to my SIL and then when they announced their 1st pregnancy I was horrible about it. Refused to be called Auntie. They never asked me to be godmother. Fast forward to when I had DD1 my bro rang up to congratulate me and I said ooh, it's Uncle S and he very kindly reminded me of what I said and refuses to be Uncle and Auntie. I am still cut up about it to this day. I hope things work out with sis or everyone will be hurt. However, it is this SIL who was nasty about me wanting a 3rd and especially at my age so they have probably got the own back a tad.

hackney-good luck for your scan. As it is raining today I should be able to sit down a bit more. If the pain is bad now I dread to think what it will be like in another couple of months. Suffered with SPD last time so perhaps it is the start of it again.

DevilsAdvocaat-how did DS get on in his big bed?

Have a lovely day girls.

BellaCullen · 26/05/2009 09:12

theboob good luck with your exam.

sugar just ignore your sister, my parents have said similar things about me to my sister.Youll be fine with 2.I like Alana for a girl.Theres so many nice girls and boys names on here.Dp will only have Nathaniel for a boy he doesn`t seem to like anything else.

I only put DD in proper bed after her third birthday and she was ready then as had no problems with her.She goes to sleep all by herself now been waiting 3 years for that, but still comes in my bed during the night.

Got my scan on Friday finally, seems to have been ages since last one.Baby seems to be moving up a bit and kicking me at sides too.will be interessting to see where its lying on Fri.

Had lovely weekend went to seaside got burnt a bit, specially my feet they are so painful, always forget suncream on there.Glade some of you had lovely holidays lucky you havent been away for years we just go to Germany every year to see my family.hoping to go Malta next year DPs relatives are there.

DevilsAdvocaat · 26/05/2009 09:17

morning everyone.

ds was great last night, h woke at 3 in the morning and cried for me. i went in and found his cat comforter toy and he went back to sleep. this morning he woke at 5.50 and got out of bed and called from the stairgate so i'm please. not looking forward to putting him to bed when he doesn't want to go (which happens once every few weeks). one day at a time.

next on my list, get rid of his bottle . he only has milk in it but i suppose it's time for it to go.
oh and don't forget potty training in the summer hols! gah. all change, next stop big boysville.

i can't believe he is two next month

i got on the scales this morning and i have put on 16 lbs. AAAHHHHHHH. so many bbqs.

thank god it's half term, have dh at home atm so slept in til 8.30 this morning. now dh has gone back to bed, we may sleep in shifts all day!

sugarkane my sis can be a little jealous sometimes too. not in a horrible way but she said to me the other day that she's arranging her holiday the week after my due date which i was surprised at. it's the typical thing she always does though. she arranged (actually chose) to have her 2nd baby by cs on my 21st birthday, got accidently pg when i got pg 1st time and decided to move house when we bought our first house. i don't think it's a conscious thing though. i do love her to bits but it can be hard sometimes not to feel like she's trying to steal my thunder iykwim. i realise i have made myself sound completely self-centred here!

princessmel · 26/05/2009 09:28

Morning

Nice names I am keeping mine quite for a bit longer. Not sure why. Just am!
We haven't made any final decisions, just have loads that we like.

ds went in a big boy bed just before dd came, so he was just past 2 years. If she hadn't needed the cot I would have kept him there longer. Dd was nearly 3 I think. They are both in mid size beds now. We'll get them bunkbeds in the summer.

Devils, does he wake in the night asking for more milk? If not there's no rush to lose it yet is there!? Especially if he's just changed beds etc. Just my opinion. I am fairly relaxed about comforters. If he was asking for more milk all night, that would be a different story. Ds had a dummy (only at night) and a grobag till after he was 3. I just kept saying 'one day you'll be too big for these' etc. And one day he said 'I don't need my dummy tonight' and likewise with the grobag.

Good luck with exmas and scans .xx

DevilsAdvocaat · 26/05/2009 10:02

mel he has a bottle after breakfast and lunch and one after his bath. i just wonder whether it'll be harder to get rid of it once the baby is here iykwim. it's so hard to know isn't it?

princessmel · 26/05/2009 10:55

Maybe try dropping the after lunch bottle first, or the one he's least fussed about?

lal123 · 26/05/2009 16:11

afternoon allxxx haven't been in in a while with one thing and another - so hello!

To keep the holiday feeling going - we're just back from a long weekend in Eurodisney - it was fantastic! DD had a great time - we've promised her we can go back when her DB or DS is her age...

Its lovely to hear about names - in RL we're not sharing any of our suggestions. So far we're thinking of Elena for a girl and Luca for a boy - not so keen on Luca. Why are boys names so hard????

Flame · 26/05/2009 18:02

Scrolling back as far as Monday morning to catch up and reply (am aware I am still a complete flake with this thread )

Very of warm holidays, but prob not Cyprus - found the heat too thick (if that makes sense) when I went there pregnant with DS.

I have silly tan lines. Turns out the hot milk bra gives a hell of a cleavage... so when I am in a normal bra I now have a big white void where I got tanned on Saturday in the other bra

No appetite increase here, dunno how much of that is due to me still not holding much down though Had a full 6 days with no sick last week then it all came back yesterday just in time to make yoga impossible

Kleine - I know someone with an Astrid and a Magnus

LMB - ain't perfect if the place is wrong

Keine - I would have kept the cot as long as humanly possible. Size-wise DS would still fit in one now, but the little git learnt to climb insanely early and was escaping by 15 months I think. We still tried to keep him in it for a while, but it was looking more dangerous so gave up. Poor little thing was small enough to fit on his pillow in the big bed!

Will be keeping our names quiet for a good while yet, what with us having not the teeniest tiniest idea of any for either sex

I like Luca though.

Went to Dr today and now have antidepressants. Feel soooooooo much happier at the concept of an end in sight without having to wait another 20 weeks.

KleineMaus · 26/05/2009 21:42

Flame - just out of curiosity are the Astrid and Magnus you know in this country? I'm not sure if they're too 'Scandi' for here.

SassJ · 26/05/2009 22:04

Hi KleinNaus, my cousin (utterly English)called their second son Magnus - like it. Love Astrid (don't know any though).
Can't wait for our vacation - three weeks this year - hurrah! Got a few weeks to go still though......plod...plod...
Got my scan next week though, so the excirement of that kind of breaks it up a bit.

Flame · 27/05/2009 07:58

Yup in this country

littlepea72 · 27/05/2009 09:50

Hey everyone, sorry i havent been on, Euro Disney was great. Did manage to be sick everywhere in the middle of the park lol, never seen so many people run so fast in my life! The baby has been moving arround so much, its been making me sick & feeling really tired again. Have my scan tomorrow, so hope we will find out the sex. Thinking about Dexter for a boy, Faith for a girl, good to know after tomorrow we can give it a name!

hackneybird · 27/05/2009 10:54

lal boys names do seem harder don't they? We have plenty of options for girls, but none for a boy. Luca is nice.

flame I really feel for you. I'm struggling with fatigue, but that is nothing compared with terrible sickness. hugs to you.

HappyTangerine · 27/05/2009 12:01

Hi all, hope you had a nice bank holiday. Very busy here with family children's parties (great fun ), seeing the Zutons live in Liverpool (they were brilliant)and my mad gardening fit on Sunday. Kind of overdid it though and was sobbing on the floor on Sun afternoon because my back was hurting so much. That'll teach me! Raining today so I'm going to chill out.

No change in appetite here apart from the endless craving for ice. I'm waiting for my energy levels to kick in, I feel even more tired and dizzy these past 2 weeks and feel my heart racing a lot, v odd.

Was rudely awaken from a sneaky nap on Sat afternoon by a panicky sister. She was in London, on her way to catch a flight abroad to do a weeks teaching. She'd sat down in Paddington station and when she got up and got on the cirle line, she realised her rucksack was missing. She'd forgotten to pick it up and it contained her passport, laptop, camera, full details of her teaching & flight itenary. I liased with British Transport Police as she made her way back there from Victoria. To our amazement, the rucksack had been handed in almost immediately and everything was still there. Can you beleieve how lucky she was? DH and I are still gobsmacked.

hackneybird - good luck for your scan

Sammysam and princessmel, welcome back, glad you had great holidays

KM, lal & anyone I've missed- Loving all the name suggestions

Sugarkane-sisterly jealousy eh? My sis and I are guilty of it and the competitive thing, despite the 11yr age gap. Try not to let hr comments get to you(easier said than done, I know)

Treats - not sure if I got a chance to say this last week, but so glad the scan went well.

theboob good luck with the revision and exam

flame for the MS, hope it goes away again pronto

smallone · 27/05/2009 12:14

Arf, just typed loads and lost it.

Thanks for the CP info.

HT - nice to know that the goodies still outnumber the badies eh?

Treats · 27/05/2009 15:47

Just putting my head round the door to say hi. Having a really busy week - I'm a member of an opera company and it's our annual production this week and I have one of the main parts. Was a bit anxious that I shouldn't have signed up for it, but have been so fortunate not to suffer any pregnancy side effects, that it really hasn't been a problem. Am wearing some special pregnancy pants under my costume so that the baby doesn't suffer much from his foolish mother's prancing about. Haven't particularly felt him more than normal, so hopefully it's not affecting him.

I also have an accountancy exam in two weeks. I'm planning on winding down for some quiet pregnancy time after that.......

Glad to hear that people are enjoying holidays. for Flame that you're still feeling sickness though.
