ladylush · 26/03/2009 09:41

Hope yours gets better soon Lizle. Apparently honey is ok.

blue76 · 26/03/2009 09:41

ladylush could you gargle TCP?? I haven't got a bottle handy to tell you whether or not it's safe.
I've had a bad cough since getting over a nasty head cold. I too have had blood in my phlegm...putting it down to everything having an increased blood supply thus making things a bit more sensitive than usual. things like skin tags and moles can get bigger...supposedly...

BabyLady · 26/03/2009 10:06

Morning all - sorry to those who are not feeling well. Always think honey and lemons help with sore throats.

LOL on guessing of M&A. The winner is.... Audrey! Deal should sign by Monday so end is sight. Sick of crisps for dinner - never get around to going and getting dinner. I am having a dinner sized lunch to make up for it though! Poor baby.

Snowfalls108 · 26/03/2009 10:17

Wow - speedy posting ladies.

Bigbang - NCT was lovely. It was just a chance to meet people rather than a class. Lots and lots of baby related chat!
Classes don't start until July.

I've also been getting ear aches - nothing major, but interesting to know that's PG related.

Not sure I mentioned that I had got one of those Angelsounds dopplers - it's fantastic. Love it.

My skin is being a bit weird - but it has been for the last 3 years ever since we moved to London. But I can safely say I'm not glowing! I'm expecting that come Sunday and 16 weeks I will be positively luminious!

Really really can't wait for a bump. I want to be obviously pregnant. Glowing and bumpy!

FairySparkles · 26/03/2009 10:24

I'm a pretty 'moley' person and when I'm pregnant they all change and go dry and scabby - plus i get loads of itchy skin tags (TMI -sorry ) just wanted to reassure any of you getting the same weird stuff happening!!

Snowfalls - I'm pretty sure 16 weeks was when I started blooming last time - I've still got 2 weeks to go tho!!!

Blue - great pic of your little bean - how many weeks were you at the scan??

PurpleCrazyHorse · 26/03/2009 10:59

Hi everyone. Sorry disappeared for a bit, kinda forgot about the pregnancy once the first scan was done!! Ooops hoping I don't leave the baby at a bus stop or something

We scanned our scan photo fine, just don't laminate it (apparently!). All up on Facebook for the world to see.

Definitely looking podgy and having to wear bump band with work trousers as can't do button up. Will have to tell work ASAP as becoming obvious. Thinking it's too early (15+5) to feel kicking but do get a stab feeling from the inside. Kinda like a firm poke. Odd...

Hoping everyone is well and counting down to our 20wk scans.

FairySparkles · 26/03/2009 13:07

Pumpkin Patch have a good sale on of maternity clothes
here

LizLemon · 26/03/2009 13:30

I fell over while I was out - no idea what happened, but all of a sudden I was on the floor. I seem to be ok though. A nice builder came over with a wet wipe thing for my hands, which made me cry. I get to blame my hormones don't I? ;)

Am also looking bumpy but more like it's too many pies.

FairySparkles I'm very moley too, so thanks for that. I often panic about getting skin cancer anyway so that'll save me a trip to the docs.

blue76 · 26/03/2009 13:34

fairysparkles that pic was 11+4 - can't believe how clear it was and how much he/she had grown since 10 week scan (I've had 4 now due to unexplained bleeding).
Hey I got some trousers and tops from pumpkin patch in cheshire oaks (nr chester) last weekend. Chuffed to bits with them. One thing though...they are big sizes! They so xs, s, m, l and xl. Then there's a size guide. It said size 12 was a medium, so I tried some on and they were huge! Was nice being able to buy 'small' clothes...

FairySparkles · 26/03/2009 15:27

Aw LizLemon - bless you - hope your ok after your fall?! I'd say you've earned a glass of wine tonight!!
Always check with your doc if you think your moles have gone really weird obviously - but mine tend to get darker and dryer and scabby and itchy! - nice!!

blue - it was probly your post I read about pumpkin patch that made me look at the website I think so thanx 4 that! I'm a 12 too so what size should I get do you reckon??

Stretch · 26/03/2009 16:03

Hi all! Not been on the threads recently as I'm trying to forget I'm pregnant!

Morning sicness seems to be easing, have had rotavirus with all 3 DC's in the past 4 weeks as well so that was fun!

Hope you are all ok. Will catch up on thread later.

StealthPolarBear · 26/03/2009 16:25

Stretch - that ust have been a nightmare!

OP posts:
ladylush · 26/03/2009 17:07

All 3 dcs ill at the same time. Nightmare That's the problem with more than one dc isn't it. I have often felt quite fortunate when friends with more than one dc have had to deal with the spread of illnesses - no longer eh!

Liz - do you think you may have fainted? Must have been quite scary.

I've had some honey and lemon this morning. I think it did help a bit. I went to Boots and they wouldn't sell me anything - not even throat lozenges. Pharmacist just stared at me shaking her head. I've got TCP but not sure if I can use that. Can gargle with salt water I suppose though I'd almost rather gargle with TCP.

Will have a look at Pumpkin Patch.

TigerFeet · 26/03/2009 17:14

Blooming?!? [laughs bitterly]

I am just marking the thread, I will come back when I am in a better humour and won't bore you all to tears with my moaning

Heard the HB yesterday

blue76 · 26/03/2009 18:02

fairysparkles if you're a 10-12 I'd get small. I got medium tops as my bust is now a 36EE!!!

stretch I hope you're all ok now. That must have been a nightmare! Oh the memories of my 2 dd's having rotavirus and vomming into a bucket each....me having to empty one bucket at a time, placing one bucket between them so they could be sick at the same time...

LizLemon · 26/03/2009 19:02

I'm going to pretend I haven't read anything about children vomming...

Have checked out pumpkin patch and it's very reasonable. Am confused about sizes but wonder if it matters if I'm spending a fiver. Cheaper than ebay at those prices.

I didn't faint thankfully - I've done that plenty in my time, often when people take blood from me I dunno - maybe I just need to clean my ears out more regularly.

I am definitely having a glass of wine though. DH is out, and I'm going to get my bowl of pasta and the wine and watch a movie he would never want to see.

FairySparkles · 26/03/2009 19:39

Blue - I'm 12-14 so maybe I'll go for medium - only gonna get fatter anyway!! I'm a 34 F too so i'll stick to medium all round then!!

Whats rotavirus???

Lizlemon - tip with the wine: make sure you've eaten before you drink and don't drink too fast - I did the opposite of that last night and found myself pretty pissed after a glass of red!!! Whoops!!

erhianj · 26/03/2009 19:47

Re the weird symptoms - the weirdest for me is the excess saliva thing! What possible reason would there be for it?! Am quite freckly and they have either gotten darker or there are more of them - I will have a tan soon!

Lizlemon - hope your ok, have you checked your BP? Enjoy that glass of wine - each one should be savoured at the moment!

peachygirl · 26/03/2009 20:19

I got several skin tags last time. I managed to pull them all off though
I'm a bit jelous of all the homebirths but this has already been ruled out as has a water birth - although I'm willing to argue about that one.

blue76 · 26/03/2009 22:04

Ah lizlemon I hope I didn't make you feel ill! My bf scanned the scan pics - they seemed fine afterwards. He zoomed and cropped a couple and they actually seemed clearer!

Rotavirus is basically severe d&v. DD's came down with it on the same day! (DD2 nearly ended up in hospital - she was extremely dehydrated). It's horrible, but I don't think it's as common as the usual germy bugs that go round.

blue76 · 26/03/2009 22:07

sorry lizlemon - I hope you're ok after your fall!

Stretch · 26/03/2009 22:40

Yep, rotavirus is very different to normal D+V.

DD1 has a stomach bug, but that will only be a 24 hour thing (hopefully). DD2 and DS1 had the rotavirus for 10 days each! I never even knew it existed. DD2 is better but she has regressed back into nappies (she's 3, nearly 4).

Hope you're ok Liz.

Your poor DD blue76. That must have been horrible.

Have you all got your anomaly scan appointments yet? Mine will be late as I have only just had my booking appointment witht the midwife. September is a busy month apparently, all that drinking at Xmas and New year!

LizLemon · 26/03/2009 23:07

I'll try scanning a picture tomorrow - maybe not my favourite first, just in case.

Thanks for the concern everyone. I'm fine but I think I've jarred my arm, because I can't hold my cat, but that's the only time it hurts.

I did eat before I had my wine but I really didn't drink at all in the first 13 weeks so I was giddy after half a glass. Cheap date or what? Out of interest, who is drinking and how often?

Stretch my anomoly scan isn't until I'm almost 23 weeks - nearly two months to wait.

Stretch · 26/03/2009 23:16

I have 2 drinks a month, my way of making sure that if there's a special occasion, I won't miss out.

For eg, Easter day will be one (small) glass of wine at lunch and glass of beer at night maybe, then that will be it for April!!

TBH, I go off alcohol when pregnant. Becks do a lovely alcohol free lager at about £3 for 4 bottles and I live on that!

We have our anomaly scans at 20-21 weeks, but then I suppose it will be late due to lots of pregnant mothers! There are 5 mothers at DD1s school who are due in Sept!! All of us with DCs in the same class!!

Neddie · 27/03/2009 08:04

Hi all
sorry to hear of the vomiting bugs- I am lucky as I have spread my children out over 16 years and they don't seem to get the bugs together but one after the other before passing it on to me!
I haven't got spots anymore but the skin tags are growing like ivy all over me and my skin is really sensitive and itchy- i also have nosebleeds everyday at the moment.
I very low blood pressure so i don't know what is causing it.
Still haven't been sick which is very weird- I'm still convinced these are 2 boys.
I am starting to get a little bit nesty and clean the house a bit more which still not very much!
