Springy - Welcome home, how are you today sweetheart? What a bloody nightmare. Good to hear he is still snuggled inside where he belongs though. Please ignore the crap about a section, they can't possibly know that it will come to that.
Those swallowing posts do look a bit dodgy. I expect to see Springy on some grainy CCTV on Crimewatch accosting unsuspecting clubbers, jaw slung wide.
at your facebook close shave.

Kitty - Glad to hear you had a lovely time in Wales. Sorry you have had to deal with a leak, and one down to the ineptitude of others.

Gingersarah - So sorry to hear about your friend.

Boff - That must have been one hell of a dressing down you gave your AP. Fantastic progress.

mumblemumhome4lunch · 02/03/2009 20:11

helloo...........can't believe there have been two new threads since I last posted !!

And barbarelly's baes are here !! Must go check out last thread right now.

Hope everyone is well and not feeling too hugh and weighty and fed up....not that long now March is here.

And big helloo to the new names on the thread since I was last on - things will move even faster now, I'll never ever keep up (not that I could before )

right off to the oldie thread.......

minush · 02/03/2009 20:14

Cheers smutty!
Finally starting maternity leave is motivating me to get organised for this baby, I've been looking over this thread (and your previous one!) gahhhhhhhh, everyone sounds so organised, pelvic floor exercises, perenium (sp?) massage, wow, time for me to get with the programme!
Buddy system sounds good, but not sure if it'll be poss. from France, I'll read details more carefully to see if I can.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/03/2009 20:14

oh bum i have gone and confused everyone with the thread title

BARBARELLYS BABIES WILL NOT BE HERE TILL TOMMOROW!!

Clairey - I bought the teabags last time. Re breastfeeding: there is an NCT breastfeeding counsellor on here called TikTok. You could write down what she doesn't know on a postage stamp so you may want to seek her out. She's fab.

kazkiss · 02/03/2009 20:16

Hiya,

Thanks for the buddy system invite. Juwesm will probably know when I drop and visa versa so I will probably ask her to inform the rest of you!

are there any other expectant multiples around?

kazzie

minush · 02/03/2009 20:17

OK, it'll work for me, txting form France not a prob. But could be reception issues poss? What I'll do is send my details and if there is anyone else abroad/who doesn't mind being buddied up with someone who is that's great, if not, no probs.

Schulte · 02/03/2009 20:18

Hi all

Quick Schulte update... have started a bit of nesting i.e. washed curtains today since it's the first day of my mat leave, yay. I have one hell of a to do list for the next few weeks so won't be online so much I think... was much easier when I was at work

BB you'll be able to get RLT from somewhere like Holland&Barrett.

LOL at the technics thread... nice find!

PuzzleRocks · 02/03/2009 20:21

Yeah where is our lovely Bleu? I hope BB is right and she has undertaken another project. Like making new curtains for the whole of Buckingham Palace . Does anyone else think of Bleu as our own Snow White. I have an image in my head of her sitting at a sewing machine with bluebirds on her shoulders and rabbits at her feet.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/03/2009 20:21

Schulte - noooooo to do lists is not whet mat leave is about!! its for MN!!

OP posts:
minush · 02/03/2009 20:30

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm,
good question Smutty!
My English due date is the 7th of April, my French one is the 17th.
They tend to overestimate here. Largely, I suspect because under the French social security system you are entitled to extended maternity leave if your baby is late (cynical-me?)
Most people I know here have had their babies come early, so, I'm going to say my due date is 12th of April.

Yep, 12th of April and it's a girl

PuzzleRocks · 02/03/2009 20:34

Barbarelly - On the very slim chance that you are reading this, all the best for tomorrow. I hope everything goes fabulously. And make sure you provide us with all the wonderful details as soon as possible. Priorities and all that .

Sorry to everyone else for my disjointed posting. Tis the only way I can catch up and remain sane.

LuLuBai · 02/03/2009 20:41

Evening - welcome Minush.

To be honest, ignoring the social security system issue, I think the French dating system is better. In this country first babies are statistically far more likely to arrive after the so called due date.

To be honest I think the whole date thing is a bit of a farce wherever you are though. Why not have a 'due window'. I've been vaguelly telling all my friends I'm due mid-April-ish....

As for that woman in NY being told to lay off carbs. Ridiculous. I do believe that your cravings can help lead you towards nutrients you actually need. So pregnancy women should, within sensible boundaries, be able to eat what they fancy (OK so no tequila slammers girls!). Throughout this pregnancy I have had to eat lots of yoghurt and occasionally marzipan. I think I need the calcium.

minush · 02/03/2009 20:42

Wow, triplets for Barbarelly - tomorrow -
a baby bonanza, three at once, what a boon!

PuzzleRocks · 02/03/2009 20:45

Juwesm - Great names. Don't panic about being too relaxed, that's the best way to be. As a second timer my advice is relax, ignore all those parenting manuals and trust your instincts. You will surprise yourself just how competent you are.

BB - Chocolate to bring on labour? DD2 would be here by now if that was so. I'm eating my own body weight daily.

Aargh, first I miss the plumber porn, now the electrican AND the salad porn. Not on.

LuLuBai · 02/03/2009 20:46

It's a wierd and wonderful thought isn't it, that Barbarella is somewhere enjoying her last night of non-parenthood and tomorrow there will be THREE babies. Makes me feel a bit weepy.

Barbarella I'm sure you have better ways of celebrating your last night without babies, but if you do read this - thinking of you and wishing you all the best. So excited for you and can't wait to hear all about your litter.

LuLuBai · 02/03/2009 20:47

Puzzle - I've missed out on lots of porn threads lately too - but who would have thought they would take place on a Monday morning FGS!

LuLuBai · 02/03/2009 20:51

Oh Nutty - meant to say - fab dress and I would love to get dolled up in something like that. But sadly way too va-va-voom for my current lifestyle (running around a field with DD or going to Asda with DD or finger painting with DD or MNing when DD is asleep).

PuzzleRocks · 02/03/2009 20:53

Juwesm - Your midwfe only needs two weeks notice for a homebirth so she can bring the necessary equipment to your home and give it a H&S once over. I'm planning a homebirth too as are a few others on here. Will we be getting a live birth thread from you?

Oh poor Bleu - Shame you are having a tough time. I hope you feel better soon.

Kitty - Thanks for the plumbers crack right before I eat my supper. Yum

minush · 02/03/2009 20:54

Hi LuLuBai, I'm inclined to agree with you. It does seem that in England loads of women go 'overdue' and have the stress of hosptial appts, being induced etc.
I'll actually be relieved if this one stays in till her French date as I still have SOOOOO much to do. Not least, find a way to be assertive with medical staff in French.
There are some really good things about being pregnant in France and I've received loads of tests/prodding/monitoring/ultrasounds. But, at least where I am, the actual labour doesn't seems to be much of a factor; I think the idea is to hop on the bed and do what the docs says. While I'm not hugely invested in any particaular birthing method, it would be nice to know what my options are (or even IF they are)
