Cupcake Tigger and Scarlotti sorry to hear about your spotting, fingers crossed everything will be ok xxx

Scarlotti is there any chance they can scan you before the weekend? It will be a very worrying and long weekend for you otherwise

Lemontop I would go with kytes idea and say there has been a clash of dates

omg am so sick today , "morning" sickness kicked in big time at about 1am this morning, not gonna complain to much though

helips · 12/03/2009 14:55

Scarlotti, cupcakefairy and tiger32, have got everything crossed that your little beans are ok. Scarlotti, I can't believe you have to wait until Monday to be scanned, agree with easyeggs that you should ring back and ask to be seen earlier.

I am in Essex and am tentatively planning a homebirth again, the last homebirth ended up being an emergency c-section but the midwives assured me that there is no reason I can't have a natural birth this time so will give it my best shot! Am a bit nervous though because although I've been through labour and know I can cope with contractions (gas and air is amazing stuff!!) I'm worried about the whole head coming out of my fanjo part! Oh well, it's too early to start worrying about that I suppose!

Lemontop, would you mind getting married and being pregnant? You could always just go ahead with it, like Kyte says you can get some beautiful maternity wedding dresses and just think, how radiant you will look! Would be great showing the baby once s/he is older too!

iggypiggy · 12/03/2009 14:55

Hello all - I have been trying to hold off posting on here for fear of 'jinxing' in some way but I figure it will be best to worry with everyone here too!

I got my BFP last week (and a few more since ) and the calculator on MN says EDD would be 12th Nov. Which would be my first if everything goes ok. Although am so so worried about MC...

I recognise Kyte from the ttc thread

so... I guess that's all - except to say I haven't booked a doc appt yet.. wasn't sure when I should - so thought I might wait a week? And are you all carrying on with exercise as normal?

Oh - and I am in SE London

amyboo · 12/03/2009 15:00

Hi iggypiggy. As far as I understand it, exercise is fine as long as you were doing it before and it's not a heavy contact sport (like rugby for example). I'm still swimming my 50 lengths 3 times a week... I just find it hard to drag myself to the pool after work some nights when I'm exhausted. I plan to carry on swimming as late as possible, because I love it and have been swimming regularly for 4 years.

iggypiggy · 12/03/2009 15:01

Hi amyboo well I've read lots of stuff cos I do Boxfit twice a week which is pretty intense - and the bit I am worrying about is the 'don't overheat' bit... I also ride horses - so I don't seem to do the best sports for being PG !

helips · 12/03/2009 15:07

Welcome iggypiggy! I got my bfp last week and am seeing the doctor on Monday, the earliest appointment I could get! They will make you fill in lots of forms and then that gets sent off and the next step is to await your scan date, the exciting bit!

I am still exercising, I do pilates and I have a personal trainer who usually trains me till I feel like death! However, I am seeing her on Saturday and will break the news to her that I am preggers and might need to take it more easy! I share her with a friend so I will have to tell my friend too which I don't really want to do but I'm sure she will keep it to herself.

iggypiggy · 12/03/2009 15:12

Thanks helips

Right - will make appointment asap then! Was worried about jumping the gun.

I did tell my boxfit instructor and we have agreed that I should try not to push it - but will still go to the class.. but as I haven't taken advice from a doc yet - I just wondered what others had been advised

Catitainahatita · 12/03/2009 16:28

Hello all,

Wow, we are a huge number now! This is very exciting. Fingers and toes crossed for everyone. I've got my scan tomorrow to check that all is as well as should be. I'll let you know. It seems that there are many of us with histories of m/c and ttc problems on the thread, so I hope we can hold hands together in this anxious time.

Vis-a-vis the spotting Cupcake Tigger and Scarlotti; I'm hoping its so early days for you its still the normal reaction to the embryo trying to get a hold in the womb. It happenned to me in my last (successful) pregnancy and to my SIl too.

Am wondering if there are any more diabetics, or is it just little me?

Catitainahatita · 12/03/2009 16:31

Iggypiggy
I was told that exercise was not to be discontinued, but that you should avoid contact sports and too tiring yourself out too much. Being pg will tire you enough.

Swimming is a good one. Not sure about the boxing and the horseriding though; you'd be best to check.

scarlotti · 12/03/2009 16:50

I did ask if I could go tomorrow (they don't open over the weekend) but she said it would be better to wait until Monday as there would be more to see. I guess if I can get more of a conclusive answer then it's best in the long run.
Spotting has stopped and ms back with a vengeance so I've not given up hope yet.

Any jiggy-ness with dh is out of the window for the forseeable though as I suspect that might be what caused it!

Exercise wise - just be careful you don't overheat. You can do any exercise for the for 3 months but it's the overheating you need to watch. Remember also that your ligaments are softening due to hormonal changes so it's much easier to pull something. Swimming is the best for pg.

Are there any more mums out there on baby #4 or am I the only mad one?!

Iggypiggy my pregnancy book says horseriding is a big no no 'cause of the risk of falling.

It's good to hear others feeling dizzy I was feeling rather wobbly in the playground this afternoon. Hard to slow down though with 2 preschoolers to keep up with.

tigger32 · 12/03/2009 17:43

Evening all, I spoke to doctor re spotting (which was very light)and she said that until I was at least 6 weeks there is nothing that can be done re a scan etc. Anyway spotting seems to have stopped (touch wood) and tummyache calmed (i have been on and off the loo most of the day)

I have also been told to put a ban on sex for a while, so fingers crossed things will be ok, hope everyone else is doind ok.

helips · 12/03/2009 18:24

Scarlotti, your spotting could be because of the jiggy! something to do with cervical erosion apparently. Anyway, good news that the ms has returned and hope the scan puts your mind at ease on Monday.

roomac · 12/03/2009 18:33

Hi all,

Dr gave me edd of Nov.19 but given the fact that my last two were early ds2 15days early and she used typical cycle length of 28 and mine has been 22 and that I got my first BFP a week ago who knows when dc3 will arrive??? Am also in North London Koumak.

DS1 is reading this over my shoulder and is asking what a BFP is. He thinks a DS is a Nintendo!!

Won't tell DS1 and 2 until after first scan, how about everyone else?

iggypiggy · 12/03/2009 18:39

barnowl I know... although I think the prob with falling off is more of a prob after first 12 weeks, cos they well padded till then? Not sure

I don't really want to risk it.. but is hard cos I would have to explain why am stopping to alot of people. So would be easier after 12 weeks.. is tricky..

NewhereHelp · 12/03/2009 18:47

I'm in Warwickshire. As my DSs are 14 & 15 I am a little worried about how to tell them - timing is a little crazy too DS1 will be 16 on the 25th Oct and DS2 was 10 days early .

ursigurke · 12/03/2009 18:48

After a few very positive and optimistic days, I'm a bit obsessed that I might have an ecoptic pregnancy (even if the pain is not heavy, but my right side feels different). I am probably just hysterical and everything is alright but maybe I should try to get a scan as soon as possible.
It's almost the end of my 7th week and I still haven't heard from midwife or hospital. And I never had to fill in any paper work at the GP. But I had been there again on Tuesday when they affirmed that they had been dealing with my case. (just didn't believe it, the receptionist behaved like a lying pupil )

Lemontop - If you have already started to prepare and booked your wedding, I would stick with the date. There are very nice dresses for pregnant brides. And as a teacher it is definitely worth to get married during summer holidays. Having time after the wedding to enjoy your marriage is great. If you have to go back to work two days later you don't really have time to enjoy everything. After all, this day passes so quickly.
And just another advice: Don't get obsessed to plan the least detail (It is not the most beautiful day in your life, there will be many more). If you don't have the perfect plan it can't go wrong (We were really badly prepared and had the best wedding ever)

ursigurke · 12/03/2009 18:50

forgot: I'm in West London

NewhereHelp · 12/03/2009 18:53
