Hi Piper. Many congratulations to you - what wonderful news after such a wait. I had 2 positive tests on Fri and am due, I think on 5 november (go with a bang and all that!). I have a 26 month DD and am excited about being pregnant again. I am fretting a bit about it and wish I could fast forward to 12 weeks. I have sore boobs and the odd bedding in gripey pain (same as last time) and went a bit light headed in Hobbycraft today - that may have been as a result of the marvellous array of stuff on offer! Hope you are feeling well but with some reassuring symptoms .

piper84 · 01/03/2009 18:43

Hi browntrout

I wish i cold fast forward to the 12 week mark too My symptoms sound about the same as yours, throw in sickly feeling in there to though, very excited , took ANOTHER test today, haha, clearblue digital, it was nice and reasurring to see the words "pregnant" appear. hopefully we will have some more "november ladies" to keep us company soon

Early days too and very excited!! Congrats to you all. I have a 14 mo old and am feeling like this all happened far too quickly. Took us years with DD. So it looks like I am due on the 1st Nov - I was 3 days late last time around.

Feeling bit sick and the rest - quite reasuriing though! Bring on the end of the first trimester eh?

piper84 · 01/03/2009 22:43

hi to all. I feel fine and well - which obviously makes me anxious - and really enjoyed being pregnant last time around. Told my parents last night who were a bit grumpy about it which slightly took the edge off it for me! They have done lots of childcare with DD1 and are getting on now and I think they were worried about how I will cope if they can't muck in this time around (I work full time and OH works away during the week). But, I am sure we will find a way and things will sort themselves out somehow. Congrats to everyone who has had a positive result to date.

Grendle · 02/03/2009 12:49

Trout -sorry your parents weren't more positive. I'm dreading telling mine, as I'm sure they're convinced 2 is the only possible number of children to want/have . Likewise, they won't be keen to hear the baby phase is going on longer! Tough, though, isn't it -it's not their choice .

chocotastic · 02/03/2009 12:51

Hi everyone and congratulations all round! Just found out yesterday that I am expecting No. 2. Bit of a shock as it took a while for No. 1 and this time it happened first time of asking! By my calculations I'm due on 4 November 2009 but 10 month old DS was 10 days late so who knows. No yukky symptoms yet but MS didn't strike last time until about 8 weeks so won't count my chickens...

Hope all are well.

browntrout · 02/03/2009 13:38

Grendle - quite right! I am an only child and have always said that I didnt want DD to be. M and D have been absolutely brilliant in everything I have ever done so I think it was the shock of their disappointment more than anything. However, I've spoken to them today and my mum was clearly making an effort so I am quite sure they will come round to the idea. They'll have to .... congrats to you and to choctastic as well.

piper84 · 02/03/2009 17:02

Positive test last week, supposedly due 2nd November which is my birthday! This will hopefully be our 2nd (dd, 21 months) - feeling very anxious as had a missed miscarriage back in November which they only discovered at 12 week scan. Will be having an early scan this time but I don't think I'll feel sure until at least 12 weeks.

Grendle · 02/03/2009 23:22

Welcome & congrats travelling light . It's very hard to feel confident after a m/c isn't it? We had one loss before each of our existing children, which will make the next few weeks all the more worrying for me too.

MrsLadybug · 03/03/2009 00:33

Hi ladies, just saw this thread and had to pop in to say congrats!

This time last year that little blue line appeared for me (a year tomorrow in fact), and my dd made her entrance, with a bit of coaxing, on 4/11/08...she's sitting with me as I type, highly entertained, and is a testimony to just how great Nov bubs are!

Congratulations, enjoy your pregnancies, I (we) hope everything goes well for you.

UmSami & Squidge leave you all to your nausea! xxx

ursigurke · 03/03/2009 13:31

Hi everyone,
I made a test right after coming back from the honeymoon and I'm due 2nd Nov. It's the first one and as I'm only living in the UK since 18 months I'm not very familiar with the medical system here. In fact, I was quite shocked that I had to see a GP first instead of a gynaecologist and his only question was in which hospital I wanted to have my baby. How should I know that now?! He gave me a week to decide.
For the calculation of the due date he only asked me when my last period started, ignoring the fact that mine usually takes 30 days instead of 28. So I recalculated the date with a homepage.
He didn't say anything else, I even had to ask him if I should take folic acid as I had heard it would be very important. His answer: Yes, we usually recommend it (so why didn't he?)
After spending hours searching the Net I wanted to tell him that I had finally chosen the nearest hospital but I couldn't speak to him in person, they just wanted me to write him a note
I wanted to decide quickly to get things started and to have an examination or talk to someone who tells me how to continue the care as soon as possible. So far I do not really have pregnancy symtoms, I'm just sometimes a bit sick or tired.

piper84 · 03/03/2009 14:31

Somebody on my PN thread mentioned this thread and I just wanted to congratulate you all on your BFPs! I was on the Due in November 2008 AN thread and my DD made her appearance on 4 November. I can't believe there's a Due in November 2009 thread already! Wishing you happy and healthy pregnancies and enjoy the next few months

piper84 · 03/03/2009 16:56

Hi cricri! "know" you from emmsys thread, thanks [grin

Congrats to the newbies .

Ursigurke -you could ask to make an appointment direct with the midwife if your GP is useless. In most areas this is possible, but not advertised. Your GP might ask you to make the decision of which hosp now (mainly to refer you for scans), but you can change your mind at any stage and be moved to another one or booked for a homebirth, and it can easily be switched.

In fact, you can even decide to have a homebirth once you are in labour, though it might be easier to plan in advance .

I'm going to go straight to the midwife in a few weeks time.
