Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Joycey29 · 27/03/2009 19:10

Piper84 - am so excited for you - I would love twins - two for one pregnancy - that's got ot be good!!
Hope you are feeling better!
Off for my night out on the town - looks like mexican with a pub quiz.

LovelyPear · 27/03/2009 19:19

cupcake - so so sorry to hear your news . thinking of you. xx

quick hello to everyone else. I haven't been able to check mn recently as my DS came down with a really yucky tummy bug on Monday. he's on the mend now, but very tired and clingy (he's only 12 months) and I am shattered. Bring on the weekend!

huge congrats to easyeggs and piper and others who have had good news! Twins - wow!

I just scanned through the last few pages, so sorry if I missed stuff, but turtle you sound exactly like I feel - my DS just turned 1 year, and I was v shocked to discover I'm pg again! I also have zero symptoms (apart from tiredness, but not sure if that's just because I'm tired ), and keep convincing myself that I'm not really pg. had awful ms last time, but I actually feel fine now which is worrying. scan on 21st April seems a looooong way off.

p.s. I was 28 when I had DS, and will be 30 on due date.

chocotastic · 27/03/2009 19:44

Wow, Piper, congratulations on the twins. All those years of waiting and then two come along at once! Fantastic news!

Enjoy your night out Joycey. Hope you manage to stay awake.

Oh, and a bit late in the day, but Happy Birthday to turtle's DS. Our DS turns 1 next month and we are just starting to think about how to celebrate it. Excited but weirdly sad thinking about it, he won't be my little baby much longer! Now I never thought I'd be sad about that nine months ago when all he seemed to do was scream.....

EasyEggs · 27/03/2009 19:53

cupcake I hope Tuesday is as straight forward as can be for you. Good luck for the future for you and dp, come back and let us know how you're getting on. Take care xx

piper wow wow wow wow wow wow wow!!! Huge double congrats to you and dp

LovelyPear · 27/03/2009 21:02

BTW, i think someone was asking about pg books and I would recommend "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" by Prof Lesley Regan (Dorling Kindersley). I found it v helpful and easy to read last time, and it takes you through month by month with loads of lovely pics. It does focus on the practical, medical side of things though as she is a doctor.

My DH was given a copy of "The Bloke's Guide to Pregnancy" (can't remember who by) which I think was quite funny and helped clue him in on all my weird hormonal behaviour!

LovelyPear · 27/03/2009 21:03

oops - of course I meant it takes you through week by week! The clue is in the title!!

lemontop · 27/03/2009 21:50

piper huge congrats!

I'm not sure if it's to do with the antibiotics I'm taking but I've got the most horrible taste in my mouth at the moment. My sense of smell is still crazy as well. I keep getting really bad nausea in the evenings between about 5 and 8 that comes in waves. I'm so looking forward to having two weeks off work over Easter

My best mate came round last night with a box of goodies for me. Ginger biscuits, lemon ginger tea, chocolate, face creams and lots of stuff to pamper myself. Couldn't have asked for a better gift really!

BeckyBendyLegs · 28/03/2009 08:22

Morning all!

Lemontop what a sweet and thoughtful gift! Lovely!

I was on antibiotics when I discovered I was pg and they gave me a horrible taste in my mouth too. But then I wasn't sure whether it was the pills or being newly pg that had given me that funny taste.

I had more funny dreams last night. DH was having an affair. Then I woke up to find one of our two cats throwing up in the corner of the bedroom. Now that really helps with the MS in the morning. DH is away so I had to clear it up and just hold my breath.

I hope everyone is well. I'm going to do the weekly cleaning now. Oh joy.

katster37 · 28/03/2009 09:19

Lemontop what a lovely present - I am loving the lemon ginger tea at the min too.
Sooo glad it's Sat although what's with this weather??
Feeling really sick and not helped by this rotten cold.... Yuck.
BeckyBendyLegs hope you're doing ok with your DH away and sorry about your naughty cat!! Mine refuses to get off my knee at the min!

BeckyBendyLegs · 28/03/2009 09:42

DH has just sent me a message from his blackberry:

'Too much liquid inside me to feel hungry. Not good though. Feeling the effects this morning.'

There goes my nap when he gets home! Typical! I was also hoping to send him food shopping so I didn't have to do it. Men. Grrrrrrr.

raggie · 28/03/2009 11:23

Hello lovely ladies - congratulations to everyone and may I join you?

New to MN, new to pregnancy...everything feels new at the moment...just got a BFP this morning! Can't even work out if that means Nov or Dec?!

Never thought it would happen this fast but very pleased... must not let the worrying start and overtake this feeling! So early that I don't want to share with anyone yet (except DH of course) but can't resist seeing it in print - I am pregnant!

xrx

Leannabanana · 28/03/2009 11:26

i have the WORST taste in my mouth all the time....its that taste like nothing on earth...it makes me want to keep eating something just to be rid of it....i have a craving for watermelon today and DH has just done the food shopping for the week for me and bought me one....and a bunch of [slightly wilted] tulips.....bless him. still want to strangle him with my bare hands tho.....no reason of course.....just feel like that today....

EasyEggs · 28/03/2009 13:02

Congratulations raggie how exciting for you

Well after saying I had no sickness I have felt awful for the last 3 days. Constant nausia from the second I open my eyes until I got to sleep again. I wouldn't mind that so much but it's the dizzyness that gets to me. It's like being so drunk the room is spinning all the time, just without the good bit drinking first lol! Oh and the only food I can even think about eating is rice. Hope the next few weeks pass quickly

katster37 · 28/03/2009 16:11

EasyEggs my nausea has stepped up a gear the last 3 days too. Today was horrific - spent an hour retching over the toilet - nice! Can't work out if I will feel better if I am actually sick. Any advice? I hate being sick ( like everyone!) but if it makes nausea go away a bit I wouldn't mind!

DH has booked a really nice restaurant for tonight - he has got a £100 meal voucher from his work and it's the last thing I feel like but he's really excited!! Will have to try and make a big effort...

BeckyBendyLegs hope your DH isn't in too bad a state when he gets back....

And welcome raggie! You can use an online due date calculator to find out when you're due. Congrats!

raggie · 28/03/2009 18:43

Thank you EasyEggs and Katster37!

Sorry to hear both of you feeling nauseous (that word is hard to spell). Must say I feel the same, although fairly minor and just...'queasy' at the moment.

According to calculator I am due 28th November - 9 months today! - so perhaps I am just a little while behind you on the throwing up stakes, lucky me...

xrx

BeckyBendyLegs · 28/03/2009 18:52

Hello all!

Welcome raggie.

I'm just entering the evening nausea phase. So I've just had a bowl of melon and Greek yogurt to see if that helps. I've also just been feeling really crampy. I hope it is just the usual early pregnancy crampyness. DH is back from Leeds now and tells me he felt better after a cooked breakfast before he left. He's going to bath everyone and put them to bed for me. I need my jammies and a duvet quick. Bleugh. Hope everyone is feeling ok. Katster sorry you're feeling more sick. Easy I get dizzy as well, especially first thing when I wake up at 6am!

AileenF1 · 28/03/2009 19:02

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been on here in ages, It's a record... I didn't turn my lap top on for a whole week.

Just about to enter week 9, feeling really sick all the time, keep heaving but not being sick, it's straining my stomach muscles. The Midwife is coming to our house in the morning, annoying cause I look forward to my Sunday lay in, but hey.

My boobs are sooooo sore, keep waking up where they have gone numb from laying on them, my nipples are really sore, especially when they get cold, OMG, I can't bare it.Gone up a size already. Got my scan at the end of April, I can't wait. Just want the 12 week to be here.

My cat had 6 kittens on friday morning. they are sooo lovely.

Just wondered why there are so many lists?

Flumpity · 28/03/2009 20:37

Hello, can I join you? Baby no 2 due 26 nov.

scarlotti · 28/03/2009 21:09

Evening all

Welcome to the new recruits

easyeggs I find that on a bad nausea day, if I don't eat enough then I get the dizzy spells. Are you eating constantly? Can you munch on grapes or something light - it will keep your blood sugar constant and hopefully stop the dizzy spells too.

My nausea is so much better since my acupuncture but now it's the hormones that are messing me about! Up one minute, down the next. It's a real roller coaster! Boobs getting more sore again too, and growing - and I wasn't small to begin with

LissyGlitter · 28/03/2009 22:37

Really starting to feel sick and dizzy now-hope it's not as bad as last time I had to call my boyfriend back from the pub today to bring me chips and gravy as it was the only thing I fancied and my daughter was in bed!

turtle23 · 29/03/2009 06:58

Morning all...feeling so much better as actually slept last night! Had very vivid dreams of twins, but am sure that if I was having twins that I'd be monstrously ill...right?...gulp...

southernbelle77 · 29/03/2009 07:43

Morning all. Not posted for a couple of days so trying to catch up! After Friday when I wasn't sure what to do, I ended up at the hospital being checked out. As I was not bleeding they didn't want to do a scan (as the risk of infection of doing an internal scan can be quite high apparently but they did urine samples and said I am definitely pregnant and the hormone levels are strong. Still going for early scan on Friday and just praying that everything is ok. There is no reason to assume it's not, but I guess after having 2 consecutive mc's it's hard not to be a little paranoid! Also, nausea has calmed down a bit, which of course is nice, but yet another reason to be paranoid!! Poor dh, he's listening to my constant worrying all the time!! I have promised him that after the 12 week scan (which is on the 5th May - yey!) I will stop worrying!! Getting cravings for ice lollies at the moment! That's the same as I had with dd!

pinkfizzle · 29/03/2009 09:21

Hi Everyone, I have added myself to the list! (hope that I have captured everyone and that this is the right list)

Best of luck to everyone !

Southernbelle, I had an early scan myself yesterday and
found it very assuring to listen to a heartbeat, so besy of luck to you!

Like so many I am having waves of sickness, every morning between 3am and 5am - I am sick of being sick. I am counting down to the 12 week point.

Enjoy your Sunday. Pinkfizzle
