Afternoon all!

Easyeggs, that is fantastic news about your scan, congrats!

Newherehelp, hope your scan tomorrow shows your little bean growing in the right place, good luck.

I am 32, had ds when I was 30.

Not much else to report, had a headache earlier but a cup of tea and two cupcakes seems to have got rid of it! I am still eating for England

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/03/2009 13:14

Yeah Easyeggs!

tigger32 · 26/03/2009 13:20

easyeggs thats fantastic new

cupcakefairy · 26/03/2009 13:35

Hi everyone thanks for your thoughts. Scan was this morning and we were told baby has died She showed us how it had decreased in size (well, she used the word 'disintegrated' ) and that the sac was all malformed.

I have had a jolly good cry this morning, now just feeling numb and terrified about the heavy bleeding to come (I already get awful period pains so I'm sure this will be terrible.) This was my first pregnancy so now also petrified it will never happen. But that's for another thread I guess....

Anyway, sorry to put a downer on things...I guess it was bound to happen to someone on this thread with so many of us here

Easyeggs and cies really really happy for you though and hope everyone else is doing ok. xxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/03/2009 13:48

Oh cupcake poor, poor you. I've been through it myself so I know how wretched you must feel right now. I'm sending you a big hug. There really is no rhyme or reason to these things sometimes. Take good care of yourself xxxx

scarlotti · 26/03/2009 13:55

cupcake am so sory to hear your news. That was us last December so I completely understand how you're feeling.
If you have worries about what will now happen then phone the nurse at your EPU again. I went with the intention of letting it happen naturally but then thought differently a day or two later and my epu nurse was great in telling me the options etc.
Give yourself plenty of time and space to grieve for your loss and take good care of yourself. Remember there is no 'right' way to handle this, or a 'right' time to be back up and about. If you feel happier talking about it on a thread where it's happened to lots of us, find the 'knicker checkers' thread under pregnancy. There are lots of lovely supportive ladies on there.

Hi all,

I hope that everyone is fine.

Congratulations easy eggs.

I had my rescan this morning and all was good, saw little beans heart beat which was great. They said that my dates are WAY out and that i'm probably only 6 weeks prgnant not 8, which is a little annoying.

EasyEggs · 26/03/2009 14:19

cupcake I am so very sorry for you I hope the bleeding isn't as bad as you think and you make a quick recovery, physically at least. Please don't think that it won't ever happen for you. I know it is of little comfort at the moment but mc are so more common than you would think and when you are ready I'm sure you will have a happier outcome. I had a mc before last ds and I know how devestated you must be right now. Don't let anyone tell you to just get on with things or think you have to because you need to do whatever it is you have to to get through this. Sorry I'm rambling now, hugs to you though x x

becks130 · 26/03/2009 14:33

Cupcake I'm really sorry to hear yours news, sorry I didn't read through everything before my post, I hope you didn't come across in sensitive. My thoughts are with you x

Joycey29 · 26/03/2009 14:52

Hey cupcake - sorry to hear your news. Grieve properly and talk to people - some great threads about where people know exactly how you are feeling. Take care.

cupcake - I'm really sorry to hear your sad news. As said before, take time to grieve.
And it doesn't mean at all that it will never happen. MC happen very often, almost all women I know had at least one.
And as my mum said when I told her about my pregnancy: it is already good to know that you (with your partner) can conceive.
Good luck for you.

Fruitpastels · 26/03/2009 15:25

Cupcake Very sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself.x

PootleTheFlump · 26/03/2009 15:46

Cupcake - I'm so sorry, take good care of yourself and give yourself a lot of time x The Miscarriage Association are really good, as are some of threads elswhere on MN too xx Please don't feel despondant about the future, I know it is so difficult (my first was ep) x

easyeggs & cies - glad you saw good things!

I am on a high from yesterday, have not been far from the scan pic and keep looking at it. Am beginning to feel a bit queasy, but quite liking my little secret at the mo!

Am 28 by the way, might be 29 depending on which edd is eventually decided upon!

southernbelle77 · 26/03/2009 17:14

Oh, and I will be 32 when this lo arrives. I was 27 when we had dd.

roomac · 26/03/2009 17:52

Thinking of you cupcake.

brightonbaby · 26/03/2009 18:15

I'm just wondering how come some of the ladies on here have had scans already? My doctor told me they don't scan until 20 weeks here in Brighton! Unless I go to London for a 12 weeks one. But, before 12 weeks, is it normal to get a scan or only if something is feeling wrong?

Joycey29 · 26/03/2009 18:21

In Bristol we get dating scan at 9 weeks and then one at 20 weeks. If you want a scan at 12 weeks with nuchal etc you have to go private.... Each area is different!

becks130 · 26/03/2009 18:52

I live in Hampton, Middlesex and I had an early scan because I was getting really bad cramping. My dating and nuchal scan is done at 12 weeks and then I have another scan at 20 weeks. With my ds I wasn't given an option for the nuchal scan as the hospital did have the facilities, I think that it also depends on the hospital. I thought that it was standard to have a dating scan at 10-12 weeks wherever you live.

becks130 · 26/03/2009 18:53

sorry that was meant to say didn't have the facilities!

brightonbaby · 26/03/2009 18:58

Wow, that's great th have early scans as the norm in Bristol.

I too thought it was standard to have one at 12 weeks. It feels slightly odd not having had my pg confirmed. I've done two home pg tests and missed a period and that was good enough for the doctor (over the phone)! It'd be funny to get to 12 weeks or 20! and find out it's all been in my head, lol.

I have no other symptoms (aside form sore boobs), that's why I'd like someone to confirm there's something in there.
