I'm 37, will be 38 a cpouple of weeks after baby is born.

alexdrake · 26/03/2009 07:16

Morning all, I'm 31, had DS1 at 29. Best wishes for later easy and tomorrow cupcake. Hope everyone is getting some time to put their feet up, DH has been a superstar the last couple of days - making the most of it!

ursigurke · 26/03/2009 08:10

newherehelp - I hope you are feeling better today and that your pain didn't mean anything. Are you still trying to get a scan somewhere?
Hobnob - sorry to hear that you are worried about your decreasing symptoms, hopefully it only means that your body is getting used to the pregnancy.
For me, it's an up and down. Yesterday morning, I felt really bad, today seems to be fine... so far. I'm quite lucky, at the moment I only have to start working at 12, so time enough to get better but I am really not looking forward to next tuesday when I will have to leave the house before 6.
I've just turned 32 by the way.

Good luck for those with scans today and tomorrow!

katster37 · 26/03/2009 08:28

Hi all.
Good luck to those with scans today and newherehelp I hope you are feeling better this morning and that the rest did you good.

I woke up with a stinking cold Sore throat, ehadache, runny nose.... I've heard your immune system decreases when pg, because it is focusing on the baby - is this true? Also, the cold can't hurt the baby, can it??

I'm 27 BTW. Will be 28 by Nov.

Fruitpastels · 26/03/2009 09:01

Katster, I think our immune system is a lot lower when pg. The cold won't hurt the baby. You need to try and rest up. Give yourself a chance to get over it fully. You're ok to take paracetamol, maybe check with the GP or NHS Direct. Keep hydrated with water and honey and lemon drinks, lots of fruit if you can manage it. If it gets any worse you may have to see the GP to rule out infection. Hope you feel better soon. Such a misery

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/03/2009 09:16

I'm 37 and will still be 37 in November, just about! I was 31 when DS1 was born, 32 MMC, 34 when DS2 was born and 36 MC. So this is my fifth time being pregnant. You'd think I'd be used to feeling crap by now... sucking foxes fruits again - if nothing else my teeth will fall out at the end of this.

I hope you are ok Newherehelp, and Hobnob I understand your worries. I'm surprised the EPU weren't more understanding. I would have thought you'd be able to get an early scan esp with a previous missed MC. I don't know much about these things whether you have to pay or not for one. My DH wants me to get one but I haven't investigated yet.

I hope you are ok too Easy and Cupcake and hope all is well.

tigger32 · 26/03/2009 09:55

Morning,

Just wanted to pop on quickly to wish easyeggs good luck today! cupcake good luck with your scan today/tomorrow too.

newherehelp hope things are better for you today.

I'm 30 and will be 31 by November, I was 24 when I had ds1 and 27 ds2.

Joycey29 · 26/03/2009 10:17

Just a quick one to say good luck to eggs and hope you are feeling better newhere
I am still waiting for the readed MS to hit.
Off to reflexologist next week which always makes me feel better. I had it during last pg and felt amazing - also had it during birth which was fab - assumed after 1st I would demand epidural before it was too late but no - nothing but a bit of light foot pressure!!! Try it - it's great.

scarlotti · 26/03/2009 10:25

Morning all

Good luck with your scans easyeggs and cupcake newherehelp if you suspect an ectopic then I'd get yourself to A&E and tell them you think that's what's going on. Tell them you spoke to your gp and he just said rest. I think you'd get scanned pretty quick to rule out anything untoward.

My symptoms seem to be easing, thankfully. I went for acupuncture last night which has helped a little. Has made the nausea more manageable and I feel a bit more like my old self again which is good.

I'm about to turn 35 - had dd at 20 and ds at 32.

Cies · 26/03/2009 10:58

Morning all.

Good news here. They saw a heartbeat . And everything's in the right place. And the HCG levels indicate that all's going smoothly. I'm so happy. I've got my routine appointment with ob/gyn tomorrow so can ask all my questions then, as I didn't want to waste the emergency unit's time seeing as all was well. But I'm just like !

I'm warding off ms by nibbling on slice of apple atm.

Good luck to all the rest with scans soon.

Oh, and I'm 27, will be 28 by November.

EasyEggs · 26/03/2009 11:26

cies that is fantastic news! Really happy for you

I have fan-bloomin-tastic news too!! Had scan this morning totally expecting the worst because of all the bleeding and pain etc and there was a heartbeat I nearly fell off the bed! I am so so happy Just hope bean stays put now. She could see an area I'd most likely bled from but she said everything looked fine and as normal as can be at the moment.

So a good day here today

NewhereHelp · 26/03/2009 11:27

Hi all thanks for good wishes, went to see my GP this morning he said rest up and call back if it gets worse!

Called the EPU and they said they have no appointments until at least Monday but go to A & E if it gets bad :-(

So found a place ib Basingstoke (where DP lives) who had a space at 9 15 on saturday - it is nearly twice as expensive as the other place we were going to go (95 instead of 55), but they can get me in

Pain is niggling but spotting has stopped. thinking of you easyeggs x

NewhereHelp · 26/03/2009 11:28

OMG easyeggs that is fantastic news

EasyEggs · 26/03/2009 11:31

newhere I can't believe how useless your gp and epu sound and that you are having to pay out yourself just to put your minds at ease.

I hope the scan on Saturday brings good news for you and hope the pain goes soon xx

NewhereHelp · 26/03/2009 11:36

Thanks, am imagining how happy you must be

lemontop · 26/03/2009 12:03

newherehelp is there another hospital near you with an EPU? I had exactly the same thing happening to me and when my local hospital were useless I rang another hospital and was treated there. If you are worried and can't wait till Saturday just get yourself to A&E and they should refer you to an EPU for an emergency appointment. Even if they can't fit you in for a scan they can do other things like check your blood / urine and examine you.

NewhereHelp · 26/03/2009 12:11

Thanks Lemon not sure there is another place near here tbh, should wait til saturday anyway at least I will be with DP then too - if it gets bad then i will go to A & E - the midwife said if I'm 8 weeks (which i should be but my cycles can vary) the eptopic would have ruptured by now.

Doc said it was 99% sure it was nothing but what about the other 1% !!!!!

Got a viewing on the house tonight too so got to tidy and look cheery

Joycey29 · 26/03/2009 12:34

Fantastic news eggs - I am so pleased for you
