Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NewhereHelp · 18/03/2009 21:45

Have you told your older children? I told mine yesterday and I thought they'd freak being teenage boys and all but they were fantastic - so proud

pinkmich1972 · 18/03/2009 21:48

That's great, teenagers can be funny, I have not told my childrens yet, bit worried, what if i miscarry, would like to tell them tho, maybe they can help out a bit more then?

NewhereHelp · 18/03/2009 21:52

When I told them I explained about the 12 week window, the private scan place I posted a link to earlier lets kids in too so I thought I might take them along make it all the more real for them.

I figured that if I MC then they'll need to know why I'm so upset, guess it depends on the kids and mum knows them best

pinkmich1972 · 18/03/2009 21:55

Yes true, must of missed the link, where i lie, you cannot book with midwife till 10 weeks and no scans unitl 12 , bit annoyed about that really.

I think my hubby needs more time to get over the shock, hes not a happy bunny, he thought we would free bunnies soon! and we wont be so he needs time

hobnob57 · 18/03/2009 21:56

Crumbs, there's no way I can catch up with you all! Have had a truly hectic weekend to top off a totally manic month and I am SHATTERED. I've practically passed out for an hour after getting home from work today and yesterday, leaving poor DH to deal with feeding DD and cooking tea. I even practically fell asleep in my seat at a Ross Noble gig last night!

MS has started kicking in this week too, and now I am 6 weeks it's all beginning to feel alarmingly familiar. I just can't stand it and don't deal with it very well. I just can't think of what to eat that might make it better. I'm already sick of dried apricots which were my staple last time...

I managed to find 3 mins () today to finally ring up and make an appointment with my GP. Except there are no appointments for the next 2 weeks that I can attend . So I asked for a booking in appointment with the MW instead and have one on Friday week. I'm a bit cheesed off because I had a mmc a 9 weeks in December and really wanted to see my friendly GP to negotiate an early scan. Not sure whether the MWs will be so up for that. But I've been so crazily busy that I just haven't had time to get organised!

Hope the rest of you are bearing up well. May time fly.

ollie131 · 18/03/2009 22:02

Hi, I am due november 4th. Got my appointments for my 12 and 20 week scnas today! It feels strange though as I still feel fairly ok. Waiting for the tiredness and sickness to hit me.

travellinglight · 18/03/2009 22:15

Hi there all. We had an early 'reassurance' scan today as I had a missed miscarriage last time which was not discovered until 12 week scan. There was a heartbeat and all normal, so we are hugely relieved - though I won't relax for a while yet. It's a really strange waiting time isn't it, you want to be overjoyed but also not to tempt fate. Good luck to all of you.

EasyEggs · 18/03/2009 22:20

Welcome onboard pink and becky

Wow it's getting busier by the day! All good though, it means we have more ears to listen to all our moaning

pink I too live in Kent, due 2 days after you. Nice to know there are a few of us down this way.

Sorry so many of you are still feeling rough. I am still worrying about having no symptoms. Well other that a stabbing pain in my lower left side which has been there on and off since Monday. Got worried about it today as it just won't shift so rang and left a message on the MW's answer phone. Tomorrow is clinic day so hoping they will call then. Probably just tell me to go away and stop being so paranoid

Right really should have been in bed by now. Ds will be awake soon far his feed, night all.

EasyEggs · 18/03/2009 22:21

travelling That is fantastic news, no wonder you're so relieved Really pleased for you.

I can't wait until I get mine too. These days go so slowly.

mrsbeng · 18/03/2009 22:41

Popping up to say hello.. just started another thread at shock BFP tonight. Haven't told DH yet as he's got a job interview in the morning and don't want to stress him out!
Due date calculator says 25 Nov. Already have DD (3yrs). Feel fine, was convinced test would be negative!

LissyGlitter · 18/03/2009 22:55

Hi Mrsbeng!

BeckyBendyLegs · 19/03/2009 08:23

Good morning all! How are you are feeling today? I'm feeling ok at the moment, I usually start feeling a bit sick when DS2 and I take DS1 to school. Not sure that is MS or psychological! Is anyone else having totally bizarre dreams at the moment?

I'm only just over five weeks so far. When have you all phoned your GPs? I haven't done anything yet. We moved here in September so I have never been pregnant here before so not sure what the procedure is. It's probably the same everywhere, I don't know. Where I lived before in Oxfordshire there was a lovely maternity unit the midwives were based at and it was lovely. If only I could go back there to give birth!

Morning all and welcome all newbies.

I am feeling terrible this morning, the MS has finally kicked in I think. Also my boobs are very very sore and are A LOT bigger according to DH! beckybendylegs yes I am having VERY weird dreams, lastnight I dreamt about a fridge full of food that was out of date, very strange!

My DS is a lot better today so hopefully we can go out and enjoy the sunshine

LovelyPear · 19/03/2009 09:48

morning! congrats and welcome to all newbies - wow, there are loads of us now!

I'm feeling a bit yucky this morning, which is actually a huge relief as I was beginning to think I was imagining being pg! Sorry to all those who have been suffering for weeks...

BeckyBendyLegs, yes I'm having some very strange dreams at the moment, and waking constantly in the small hours with dh snoring next to me! Not sure if it's because I have so much on my mind...

I got in touch with my GP straight away and he referred me to my midwife based in our local fab birthing centre. I won't see her though until 9th April. Feels a long time to wait with nothing but mumsnet and a few pg books for company!

BeckyBendyLegs · 19/03/2009 10:08

This is a fast moving thread...I'm never going to keep up!

Koumak · 19/03/2009 10:42

Morning all and welcome everybody new (sorry I will try to catch up)
I too have the weirdest dreams and sometimes they get really sexual too my dh just laughs when I tell him.
No pregnancy symptoms at all but I keep telling myself I had really easy first pregnancy so it might be another boy again?
Thinking of booking 10th week scan privately but not sure how to go about it as am all day at work and cant really call the hospital then that would be a bit of giveaway!
Can?t sleep at night only it seems any other time I am exhausted could snooze right now! Keep waking up every single night between 3-4. Today 2.55 and at least 5.15 how am I going to last god knows.

piper84 · 19/03/2009 11:20

OP posts:
LissyGlitter · 19/03/2009 11:46

I've got a weird pulling feeling in my lower abdomen and I have a phlegmy sicky feeling in the back of my throat. Just had the meeting with my mental health people, I have to come off my antipsychotics cold turkey, so watch me suffer over the next few weeks! I have to decide if i want to stay on my antidepressants. I have no idea what to do.

turtle23 · 19/03/2009 11:58

Can I join? BFP this morning. By my dates I'm due 25 November with number two!!

katster37 · 19/03/2009 12:24

Oh gawwwwed, could someone please help me??I have just burst into tears in the staffroom, I feel so . For the last hour, Ihave had the strangest sensation in my uterus - it feels like an intense spasming. It isn't painful, but it is uncomfortable andmakes me want to sit down. I am so worried . Could someone please please tell me if they have had this, and if it was something awful, or if it was maybe just it further implanting or something?? I feel so sad, I don't know what to think. No bleeding, or AF-like cramps, just this weird spasming sensation, almost like an intense twitching or something. Sorry, I really hope someone can help!! Thanks. PS I am 4 and a half weeks.

helips · 19/03/2009 13:14

Welcome and congrats to all the newbies!

Katster, I had all sorts of twinges when I was pregnant with ds, especially if I had been over doing things. I think as long as you are not bleeding and the pain's not too bad these sort of twinges are quite normal. Everything is stretching to make room for the baby. If you are worried though speak to your doctor. I hope you feel better soon. Could you go home and put your feet up too?

I had a really weird dream last night. I had given birth to a baby boy who was really hairy, kept looking at him and thinking yuck, he's not as gorgeous as ds1 and then feeling really bad! Also, lots of my family and friends were there for the birth and said I had been screaming and swearing but I couldn't remember a thing! Very strange!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, not too sick or tired. Ds is having a nap so think I will too now, god, I could sleep for England at the moment!!
