Hi everyone, hope you are all well.

i was going to come on here and tell you all about my bargainous maternity clothes shopping in H&M today, but i've just tried them all on and they are too small .

i didn't gte a chance to try them on as DS was kicking up a fuss.

I bought a pair of jeans, a pair of work trousers a cardigan and a top all for £20.

I'm praying when i go back tomorrow they have them all in bigger sizes.

i did however buy a nice pair of boots which do fit in Zara which said £50 on the tag, but they were £39.90 when i got to the till .

readyfornumber2and3 · 12/02/2009 21:20

Valz- My first scan was done in the small local hospital so scanner was basic, they picked up the twins(was a massive shock lol) and I have to go to a bigger hospital for a detailed scan called a clonicity(sp?) they measure the thickness of the membrane between the twins and that tells them if they are identical or not.

My midwife said its important that they know as identical twins need more growth scans, might be best for you to contact your midwife and find out why it is different in your area?

They have offered me a nuchal fold but not sure when they will do it, will be good to compare notes

I am due 27th aug but have a feeling they may well be july babies!

nandos · 13/02/2009 09:08

hi everyone,
phew it took me a good 10 mins to read through posts posted a few days back till today's.
sorry have not been able to come as regularly as i wanted cos' of work..am started to feel a bit better now at 16wks(tough wood in case anything happens) cos' everytime i said that my nausea came back in full force
anyone had a bleeding scare at this stage b4? cos' i had a little bleed this morn but not much to call mw or see doc. heartbeat still detected and am just a little bit concerned as stress/work may be the cause? or maybe just natural causes..
kitkatqueen, soo cute thinking of your little kids running around in the house i am dreaming a lot abt babies nowadays
anywayz i hope everyone here is doing ok..

nandos · 13/02/2009 09:11

omg..my spelling mistakes..excuse me..
i sound so stupid, mean to say 'am starting to feel a bit better now at 16wks(touch wood' ...

cairns · 13/02/2009 09:48

Fruitshoots - agree my DS is a late July baby and it was soo lovely last time... not getting up for freezing night feeds.

nandos - I had a couple of small bleeds during my last pregnancy with DS, I always went in to get checked up and they just hooked me up to the heartbeat monitor thingy.... which caused huge interest with DH as there is speculation on the level of the heartbeat whether it is a boy or girl (can't remember which way round it is tho) They say if the blood is bright red in particular which mine was. The bleeds were not much and after checking me they concluded it must have been a ruptured cyst or something somewhere that was causing trouble. It is normal but I think they always advise any bleeding to get checked out, even if just to reassure

Morning sickness for me seems to be on the way out too (touch wood), now 15+4 and did not feel sick yesterday or today, so hopefully that is it. I seem to remember it stopping around this time last time too.... please please let that be the case. Full sympathies to all of you still suffering as it is awful.

VJay · 13/02/2009 10:38

Morning, I feel like I'm in a limbo stage, the sickness is leaving but I can't feel baby yet, so keep fretting that I may not be pg. Stupid I know, but after 2 mc's I am a bit of a wreck. Just thought I'd share to see if anyone else feels or has felt like this xx

May67 · 13/02/2009 10:45

Nandos- I had bleeds every week up to 10 and a half weeks but luckily nothing since then (touches wood). The EPAU was great and GP referred me for a scan next day every time. Kept me sane. They always said if it was bright red to go see them immediately but mine was always old blood, which they think was from a hematoma. Ring your GP and they'll hopefully sort something for you. Sonographer was telling me about women who carry on having a period every month even when they're pregnant!? How is that even possible? Fingers crossed for you.

Uki · 13/02/2009 11:13

Ready for2and3 - and Valz

CONGRATULATIONS, on the twins, that is just so exciting, Twins are so special
you lucky things, well i think so i'm
here's wishing you both a healthy pregnancy, is it like 1 in a million chance of identical that is amazing.

i'm really squashing into my clothes now, had to use a hairtye to do up pants, i better dig that maternity bag out.
we have the big 18 week scan booked for 2 weeks time, think we'l find out gender this time, although i love suprises too, what are others thinking?

VJay · 13/02/2009 11:19

We found out with ds and want to find out this time, but will have to go private to do this. A lot of family last time disaproved, so we won't tell this time.. At the end of the day it's each to their own, unfortunatley my family think that their ways is the only way. I'm such a black sheep
As for my earlier post, I feel absolutly shattered now and could do with a nap, what does that tell me.
Oh and congratulations on the twins readyfor2and3 and valz I think twins are amazing xxxxx

nandos · 13/02/2009 12:39

ooh twins
congratulations to both valz n readyfor2and3

cairns and may67, unfortunately am not in UK atm so couldnt see GP/mw or EPU.. am just hoping its just something small like you said a cyst rupture ..
my mom had loads of bleeds for a couple of months b4 my bro's birth last time and my aunt(mom's sis) had period throughout her pregnancy so mine is nothing compared to theirs
also i can't wait to see whether its a boy or a girl can't keep my mouth shut either if ppl ask me abt the gender after the next scan

valz · 13/02/2009 12:53

Yeh, just phoned and got me big scan moved from 27/4 to 6/4 only 8 weeks away now instead of 11.

vjay my ms is slightly going, everytime i think thank god its gone it seems to come back, i threw up this morning and have a turn in my stomach since but its nothing compared to how i was the past few weeks, i'll be well glad when its gone for good. Although i can understand how you feel anxious with no other pregnancy symptoms, i read that you may start feeling flutters from 15 weeks on so im looking forward to them. have you any toher children?

readyfornumber2and3 · 13/02/2009 13:24

VJAY I remember that limbo with my first! I didnt actually feel any movements until I was 22 weeks mind you I was quite a few stone heavier with DS

I am 12+1 today and have started having flutters the last couple of days, Only felt it about 5 times so far but was definately there!

VALZ Well done on getting your scan pulled forward, have you spoken to them about finding out whether they are identical?

Well its only 2 1/2 hrs till we get to see the litle ones again and I am getting quite excited

VJay · 13/02/2009 13:25

Hi valz yes I have a ds, he's 6, so it's been 7 years since I've done all this and I've feel I've forgotten everything, but I'm sure it will all come back to me.

readyfornumber2and3 · 13/02/2009 18:26

Back from my scan and the twins are non-identical

Cant wait until the big scan so that we can find out if they are boys ,girls or one of each

BabyBump2B · 13/02/2009 18:57

Hey everyone! Congrats on the twins Valz and Waiting for number 2&3!

My ms seems to be lessening but the headaches have been incredible. Truly blinding and one migraine. Anyone know what I can take beyond Tylenol?

My scan isn't till 20 weeks and I'm dying - not feeling sick enough to be reassured and not feeling movement either. Can't wait till the midwife appointment next week so I can hear the heartbeat. Really was hoping to get a doppler but not sure about spending the cash...

For those that have been pregnant before - what was the earliest you felt movement?

VJay · 13/02/2009 18:57

Oh readyfornumber2and3 I am really excited and pleased for you

OonaghBhuna · 13/02/2009 19:40

BB2B I can feel twinges now at 15.5 weeks. with the other two pregnancies I felt movement really from about 18-20 weeks.

I have been really nauseus again. I was chatting to a friend when we took the kids out and I had to stop talking because I thought I was going to be sick, it was horrible.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Chrysanthamum · 13/02/2009 20:24

Hi,
Can I join? I'm due on 25 August. My scan is on Friday and I was going to wait until then but I'm giving in. I've 2 sons 6 and 13 months. I'm just coming out of the v tired phase and am now doing v poisonous farts.

BumpVLump · 13/02/2009 21:16

Well ladies, thanks to you I got my Spatone and hopefully those Iron levels will start to rise (no Dr required!) Thanks again.
Babybump2B I am so with you on the headache thing. I have had one every other day for about 2 weeks now and it is getting very boring. Paracetamol does nothing. I never thought Id say this...but I think I preffered the MS!
I am working all weekend on lates, hense writing this on a fri night- preying the headaches stay bearable.
I am still feeling no movement and Im almost 17 weeks now... Hope soon.

Nandos Don't stress, bleeding in pregnancy doesn't have to be a disaster - I have done with all 3 of my children and everything turned out fine - I also had a small bleed on Monday when I was 12 weeks - still getting wiggles from baby so not worried - I also didn't ring gp or mw.

If u are not getting little wiggles yet don't worry, with my 1st it was about 18 weeks 2nd about 16, 3rd about 14 and 4th about 12 weeks. Apparantly the more u have the earlier you feel it? thats what I've been told anyway.

Also a friend of mine who is italian was telling me that in italy it is classed as normal to have a bleed every month still during pregnancy, and I have english friends who have done the same, It can happen to anyone and still be fine and normal. Fingers crosed your sickness stays away!!

kitkatqueen · 13/02/2009 23:18

bumpvlump Low iron can cause headaches, dizzyness and exhaustion, keep taking that spa tone and hopefully u will feel better - if not go see gp - you can be prescribed codiene I think, but only during the 1st and second trimester I think !! but ask your gp, headaches that go on for more than 4 days and continue should be checked with a gp anyway. Hope u are feeling beter soon!!!

VJay · 14/02/2009 16:07

I'm going to have a moan, sorry. When my MW came out to see me I asked about a 20week scan, but they don't do them up here, so I explained about how worried I am due to having 2 mc's last year, plus my ds is autstic, so if there is anything wrong, we can prepare for it, preperation is key where ds is concerened. Anyway MW said she would try and get me the scan, found out today that they won't do it, it's not in their criteria. What I'm so fed up about is that I am told by the many books and leaflets I got that I get the care that I want etc...but I don't, not if it's not in their bloomin criteria. I do get the scan if I want a homebirth. I was so tempted to say, right then I want one of those, but I can't, I'm such a wuss
