hi all, been keeping up with everyone's progress but not posted for a while as I wanted to be sure everything was going ok this time. I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and have had all the scans including nuchal, which put downs risk at 1 in 4435, so me and dh are very happy that things are seemingly going well this time. I too am now only able to get into my 'fat' clothes and getting very bored with a limited wardrobe!

I'm heading off to te HUGE Asda in Manchester tomorrow to see if they have the maternity range there. I'm ok top half but just so NOT OK round the waist (or at least where I used to have a waist).

I've actually lost three pounds since just before I got pregnant, which isn't bad, but there's obviously been some redistribution going on!

Hello all- feeling a bit more secure now about joining the antenatal thread, as have passed the danger time of 13 weeks.

My due date changed at the 12 week scan from 9th Aug to 17th, although I still stand by the 9th myself. Since I've always gone up to 2 weeks overdue, I'm not bothered about the medics thinking I'm due on the 17th!

Since I last posted here I have seen my obstetrician due to being as old as the hills and being slightly hypothyroid, and she has put me on thyroxine. I've now dumped the zimmer frame and am zipping around!

am too shy to talk abt it as not much ladies have nausea after 1st trimester ends and i feel that im the only odd one out
am gonna be 16wks this thurs..hopefully it will ease a bit more by then

Hello all. Not much to say at my end at the moment. Everything settled down into the 2nd trimester (16 weeks today!). I wanted to say welcome to the newbies though, esp Duchesse - I think I remember you from the April 07 thread? I was hotlipsmummy back then although we may not have overlapped much as I didn't really post much in the first 3 months. Anyway really pleased to see you are pg again.

Had my first scan today and it puts me 3 days forward to 27th but the most suprising thing was finding out that we are expecting twins!!

We have to have another scan on friday to find out whether they are identical or non-identical

Think it will take a while to sink in!!

I never ever expected this because although I have felt very sick at time I havent actually been sick, the only real symptoms I have had is being really tired lol

Nandos, with my first I was sick every day at least twice from 6 to 16 weeks. This time I've only been sick a few times, from week 11 to now at about week 13 (I'm trying not to count the days as it's too depressing to think of how long there's left!).

The nausea was still there all the time. Makes it so difficult to think or do anything, but I feel it's easing off ever so slightly now.

Well I am struggling at the moment, have a really bad back, and am finding it hard with ds as he is 19m so am still lifting him etc. He is not small either, towers over most 2 year olds

Nandos - my sis suffered from nausea for a long time in all her pregnancys. She used to eat the strangest diet to cope with it all... I have the deepest sympathy as I was terrible just feeling sick for a week or two

Readyfornumber2 - wow, congrats at twins!

I'm off to a Choices in Childbirth meeting tonight, not really sure what actually happens at it but it's run by an IM and you can ask whatever questions you like. There's a hypnotherapist (who specialises in childbirth etc) coming along too for a talk. They're held regularly and it's quite nice to know that there's that extra support there.

ooo- how exciting, ready. Many congratulations. I have 9 y.o.twins and I was pretty relieved/excited to see a singleton at our scan!

Readyfornumber2 - wow twins I had secretly hoped to have twins but there's only 1 in there - how exciting for you!

Nandos - my mum was sick until 24 weeks with all of us and I'm 14 + 3 and still nauseus - not looking great! I am finding that if I get a good night's sleep and stay hydrated I feel better than if I don't. Not sure if that helps...

12 week scan today and all went well, they took about 6 litres of blood (may be exaggerating a bit). They put me forward 4 days but not bothered about changing my date, he'll come when he comes. (May not be a he I know!) Just wondered if anyone else had experience of this- sonographer pointed out a little bubble of amniotic fuid on top of the sac, said it was nothing to worry about and carried on measuring. The sac itself was normal and sort of oval shaped but with this little blip on top. They were checking closely because of the blood clot I had next to the sac earlier on. Anyone else had this?

Readyfornumber2- Congratulations! Lots of twins in my family so I was rather relieved we've gotten away with 2 singletons so far!

Sorry to hear people are still feeling sick, my acupuncturist said she treats lots of women for sickness and it can really help.

Nandos Don't feel shy - please!! With baby no 1 I had morning, evening, noon and night sickness until about 24 weeks!

Its much, much more common than you would ever believe!!

It turned out in my case that I was reacting badly to the pregnancy vitamins that I was taking - I'm not saying stop taking them if you are, but I had to switch to naturally sourced vitamins and folic acid instead. I also had a lot of relief by using sea bands ( they go on your wrists in case you haven't heard of them before). They seemed to sort of reduce the nausea to a niggle in the background that I could ignore.

I really hope you do start to feel better soon!!

My children are: dd1 will be 5 at the end of the month.

dd2 is 3 yrs and 4 months and ds is 13 months.

With each pregnancy and birth I've done things differently and I have worked out ish (lol) what I am going to do this time throughout the pregnancy and the birth. If you have a specific worry I will of course try to help, but what is right for one person won't always be right for another. There are so many people on here with fantastic amounts of knowledge - it's like bumpvlump said - better than a trip to the GP!!!!

Nandos, with DD1 I was ill for 20 weeks and never really felt well throughout the whole pregnancy. DD2 13 weeks. This one is weird, although I have days where I feel sort of ok I still feel really sick at times. I spent yesterday wretching and having to rush to the toilet.I feel awful today.
Its actually more common than people think.

readyfornumber2 - congratulations what a lovely surprise.

Re MS. I am still suffering although it does not seem as bad, although I too have days when it is awful. It is very common to go past the 1st trimester. With DS I know I lasted longer but can't remember when it stopped. I think it was about 20 wks or so too.

Weight gain. Not that much here either, although the last week I have noticed a more visible (podgy) belly, yuck I hate this fat stage, and boobs have def got a lot bigger in the last week. I wasn't gaining anything but seem to have put on a couple of pounds in the last week. With DS I gained far too much (about 3.5 stone) he was a big baby though and overdue which didn't help things. I am trying to steer clear of sweet stuff this time around as I am sure I contributed to the hefty weight of DS last time.

Hello I've been a lurker for a while, is it ok if I join? I had 2 mc's last year, and I've reached 12 weeks today. My edd is 26/08. I have been so nervous and anxiuos, but can feel myself starting to relax.......
