ame - if anything my nausea/sickness was worse at night, in the end i started keeping a bowl at the end of the bed because i couldn't be bothered to keep getting out of bed! at your boss. can you take someone supportive to the meeting with you on wednesday? union rep?
mamamila - congrats, all sounds very lovely and romantic
oonagh - fab news about your cat
may - i hadn't heard about the drain covers thing, how ridiculous! someone my DP knows through his work was arrested under terrorism legislation a few months ago for taking wedding photos in canary wharf just about every photographer who's ever been harassed / beaten up by the police has been phoning or e-mailing over the past week to offer support and kind words, which has helped us both feel a bit better.
an update from me - went for my scan on tuesday, had to wait nearly an hour to be seen but ho hum. everything seems to be fine, apart from the measurement of one of the ventricles in the brain which is at the upper end of the normal range, so the sonographer wants me back in 2 weeks for an internal scan (ouch) which will also check the neck of my cervix apparently. he said the measurement might just be because i was seeing them at 19+6 instead of 20+whatever and seemed fairly confident that it was no big deal, so i've decided i'm going to be relaxed about it too. no, really!
on previous scans the baby was measuring a quite small (so much so that they were considering revising the due date) but it seems to have caught up a bit now, probably because i've been able to keep more food down. and it has a really big head hoping that's just a random head-growth spurt that slows down over the next 20 weeks so i've not got to give birth to a baby with a massive head! got some fab photos including one of the baby giving us a wave and another of it sucking its thumb, aww. we decided not to find out the sex, so all they told us what that it's "normal", which is good to know
also managed to get a referral to a physio sorted for the SPD! i was having a whinge to the receptionist about my crap GP and was overheard by one of the doctors who said she would write me a referral there and then - amazing! she saw me & DP waiting by the lift a few mins later and told us to stay there, and went and fetched the fax confirmation sheet and a copy of the referral to show it had gone through. i've been feeling so disheartened by the general incompetence i've encountered so far that i could have hugged the lovely efficient woman! not sure how long it'll take for an appointment to come through, but at least the wheels are in motion now.
is anyone else planning on using reusable nappies by the way? or has used them before? i got my tailored advice e-mail back one of thenappylady advisors and just trying to get my head round the whole thing. would be interested to hear any tips anyone may have
