Congrats Astarte what a lovely story..... I am welling up now..... Cant wait to see a pic of your beautiful little girl..... Well done...

Nothing happening here no pains at all. DD is very poorly so spent most of the night on her floor so am a bit stiff but nothing else!!!

S&S tomorrow so hope that will do something...

IDOB mw will just take some detials from and that is it (details of medical history, previous pg, and family medical history etc). Bloods were not done at book in here and they dont weigh you here either...

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 18/02/2009 08:20

Morning!

Hormones all over the place again last night. Went to bed and couldn't stop crying. Tried to explain to DH what was going on in my head -
After last year's mcs, still worried I'm imagining this pg or something will go wrong.
Thinking of going shopping for buggy and ordering curtains & frieze for baby's room today makes it all seem real.
My boss is interviewing someone today to cover my ML and that just feels really wierd - it's my job!
Think I must have been a bit tired too.

OhSnap - I knew what the initials stand for - just trying to remember last GOF!

Astarte - thank you for sharing your story. Xanthe is a beautiful name. Are your other 3 DC besotted? Btw, yes you are a Mum of 4 now!!

Diege · 18/02/2009 08:35

Morning! Great birth story ASARTE, really moving, and seems like you had such a great experience. Can't wait to see piccies of baby Xanthe (beautiful name) (am def going to get a truck load of tramadol before birth now )
Good luck for scan KOOKY - you will be fine xxx
DH flapping like a headless cjicken as he is taking older dds to lake district for a few days. Has gone to try and get tickets now as has realised you need to book bikes onto virgin trains!! Will miss them, though will have a chance to get things straight before builders arrive on Monday to rip out kitchen!
Hope you're OK LB after your bad nights sleep. Lying on floor at 39 weeks doesn't sound great . SES, get shopping! Best cure for errant hormones. Can understand why you have the odd wobbly moment after all you've been through, but you are in the home run now and don't forget it
Have finished marking!!! Feel a bit deflated as there's a missing script - usually happens because of absent student, and centre doesn't bother informing us, but still would have liked to have 'closure' (control freak). Am looking forward to the money though ; will be able to get bugaboo bee and make a good start on dds summer clothes .
Right, better go, packing to do!

kayzr · 18/02/2009 08:50

Morning,

Kooky, good luck for this morning. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Diege, Do you think if I walkied on my kness I would pass as an extra DD your DH had forgotten about?? I love the Lakes but we don't get to go very often. I'm trying to persuade DH to ask his mum to take us soon.

Ses, I agree GO SHOPPING!!!! Shopping is very good for you!!

LB, sorry for your bad night. Hope baby comes soon!!

I was texting Nat yesterday. They are fine but having very busy days but tomorrow looks like a quiet day so she is hoping to be able to get on.

Hello to everyone else!!!

Astarte · 18/02/2009 09:05

Morning
no sleep again, which may well start to catch up with me, but at least I get to have my broken finger sorted out today.... finally.

She is feeding ferociously so will break out the Lansinoh today I think

IDOB my booking in appt was about form filling, family history, pg/birth history, checking BMI, bp, bloods etc to form a baseline for future testing against, calculating estimated due date, sorting out where you would like to birth etc.

Ses shopping will ease those fears, I'm sure

LB fingers crossed for a birth by the end of the week, all the signs are there, emotional being one of them I reckon. What's your due date? We need to start a Sweep-stake!!

Any news on Glask anyone? Hope she's okay, she's in the right place for her and the baby is the main thing.

Kooky good luck seeing your baby today, you'll be in there now

Diege the Tramadol is not without it's side effects, but def worth it. Hopefully it'll not be long until I can stop using it.

STT, truly dedicated to a live feed I agree. Lots of food shovelling sounds great in the early weeks, much better than it coming back up. If you can't manage fruit, try FruitnNut, it's practically the same, in fact during pg I think it's classed as a food group on it's own!

Okay, washing won't do itself and baby looks hungry again....can't wait for milk to come in tbh.

Will keep checking back for news today and apologies if I 've missed anything

kayzr · 18/02/2009 09:15

Astarte, the last news was that they were waiting to see if she goes into labour naturally but if she hasn't by Friday then they will do another scan.

Congratulations to Gruff too. I think she has won Astarte's sweepstake!!!

I need a green emoticon.

Its not envy.

Its definitely not envy.

Bleurrggggghhhhhhh.

tinkislittlemissshopping · 18/02/2009 10:17

congrats astarte what a great birth and what a gorgeous name

i have my friend over today with her 3 month old who i havent met and her 4 year old who is lovely
hv weighing bracken 3:30-4pm

Diege · 18/02/2009 10:17

Oh no Sparkly!!! I presume you are feeling very, very ??? (or are you just envious of ASARTE's sore nips?? )
KAYZ, I'm sure dh would appreciate an extra pair of hands ; get you quick to Warrington .
ASARTE, you sound in good sprits . Has it finally hit you that you have four children??? Ready for no.5 yet?? . Sort of like the sounds of the side effects of tramodol - are they like the co-codamol ones .
Well they have just left - v.excited. Am sure they will have a great couple of days but I will miss them. Is odd not having the background half term whingeing . Have friend coming over this morning, and we're going out for lunch, then will probably get dd3 early from nursery.
Am also starting on my knitting again - aiming for a baby papoose with pom pom hood, satin trimmed blanket, and chunky tweed baby cardi for the winter

kayzr · 18/02/2009 10:23

Don't talk to me about knitting. I started a jumper for DS2 when I was about 30 weeks. I have done the front and half the back

OP posts:
Diege · 18/02/2009 10:27

That's why I'm aiming for a winter cardi

lastboxoftampons · 18/02/2009 10:54

Astarte what a brilliant story Congratulations, she sounds just precious and I love her name!

Ses I totally understand how you feel - it can all be quite overwhelming. But just think, you're now past the viability stage. That's not a guarantee of course, but every milestone brings you one step closer to having your baby in your arms. Hoping you're feeling a bit better today and enjoy your shopping!

Kooky how was your scan? Thinking of you!

IDOB - my booking in was much like everyone else's. Weight, height and urine on arrival then appointment with the midwives who asked lots of questions and took blood pressure and blood.

Speaking of - I was told that one of my tests was inconclusive and needed to be repeated. I was told it was my rubella vaccination, but I had just been cleared for rubella in October. When I asked the midwive about it on Monday she said it wasn't rubella it was syphillis DH is having a field day with that one as you can imagine, but I'm pretty sure I don't have it! Need to have a repeat test done tomorrow morning.

lastboxoftampons · 18/02/2009 10:55

Kay and Diege - I've just hauled all of my knitting stuff out last week. My problem is I have a definite shortage of boys' things to make. Not nearly as cute as little cardigans for girls and stuff. Guess we find out next month if I'll spend the spring knitting adorable little sweaters or just staring at everything, at a loss of what to do with it (get super bored making blankets, they take way too long!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 18/02/2009 10:57

Hi! Thanks for all your shopping encouragement!

Lady has just been to measure up for curtains and blinds in lounge, our bedroom and baby's room. Should have quote in the post later today!

Going out with Mum later. She's buying me lunch and a dvd for my birthday and then we're going to go to look at buggies. Current thinking is that we'll go for the Britax Vigour 4+ here
I have a friend that's offered us a Britax car seat so it would mean we could have one in each car. Also interested in their baby-safe sleeper.

Also want to get a pillow for my back and need some more bras...

If that doesn't cheer me up and make it all seem actually real, there's no hope!

Sparkly - sorry for your bleeuuurggh but yay too!

Diege - house must seem v quiet but hey you can do whatever you want, watch whatever you want and eat whatever you want! Make the most if it!!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 18/02/2009 10:58

Hi LBOT - sorry x-posted!

I'm v impressed with everyone's knitting. I've only ever managed squares or scarves...

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 18/02/2009 11:13

CONGRATULATIONS AST!!!

Fab story and beautiful name - so happy for you- role model for home water births that you are!!

Glask- thinking of you- must be worrying time... good to hear she is a good wt already though...

Hi everyone else, sorry for sickky feeling STT... good sign though!

Off to clean kitchen floor so will be back laters...

Hurray again Ast!

kookykid · 18/02/2009 11:24

Just a quick one...

Such a relief - scan went well. [grin Sonographer very casually said, "And there's the heartbeat!" and I nearly burst into tears! She had trouble getting nuchal measurements but TBH I just don't care about any of that!

Will be back later! Thanks for all your support.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 18/02/2009 11:30

Congratulations KK! glad it all went well.. was thinking of you although I didnt post it..

Hurray!

when is your due date?

idreamofbeanie · 18/02/2009 11:35

Congratulations KK .
So glad it all went well, what a relief for you! I can't wait for my first scan but still at least 4 weeks to wait .

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 18/02/2009 11:41

YAY Kooky!

Really pleased all went well. Get that list updated

Right just off to pick Mum up and hit the shops!

lastboxoftampons · 18/02/2009 11:45

Wonderful news Kooky!!!!!! So so so so so so pleased for you!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 18/02/2009 11:51

enjoy your shopping ses

Cosmogirl · 18/02/2009 12:15

Congrats Ast on new arrival! Haven't had time to read story yet, but will later.

Congrats too to KK for good scan.

Ses - we have the Britax 4 plus with car seat and carrycoat. Very easy to put up and down and click bits off and on. We tried to buy the Isofix base at the wknd for the car seat but our car didn't have things to connect it, so that was a shame..

lastboxoftampons · 18/02/2009 13:06

Cosmo, the 2009 version of the Britax does the whole convertible pram thing, although I think you can still buy the carrycot if you'd rather. Ses I'll be really interested to knwo what you think of it. I presented DH with what I think are our four best bets - Britax Vigour, Micralite Toro, Icoo Targo and Bugaboo Bee - and just based on web descriptions, he's favoring the Britax and the Icoo.
